School clothes shopping
A guest asked for a oneshot of Snow and Emma taking Neal and Eira (I've changed it from Henry to suit age difference) school shopping. Snow realises that Emma is upset that she never had that experience. Snow then takes Emma shopping for new work outfits and to a movie so she can have a "school shopping" experience.
Kiki, guest, guest and guest: I'm afraid these have been too closely covered
FictionLover12: I'm afraid I've never seen an episode of Phineas and Ferb in my puff.
Sarah: I've already made a sequel to that chapter.
Guest: I think I've said previously I won't write any more sequels for that chapter.
And way! Meghan Ory (Red) is returning to OUAT! Maybe there'll be some new scenes for Beverley Elliot (Widow Lucas/Granny) too.
And finally, wish me luck guys. I have a crit this week that's really important and I'm super nervous :S
"Aw don't you look handsome?" Snow cooed over her son. Neal stared back at her glumly.
"I am not wearing this to school." He stated before yanking off the purple clip-on bowtie. "I'll get beaten up, and that's just by the girls."
"Oh nonsense, your classmates are going to be so jealous because you look so dashing. Isn't that right Emma?" Snow said, turning to her daughter for support." Emma looked torn between both her hopeful looking mother and her disgusted looking brother. She had to admit the clothes were kind of dorky, and she didn't want Neal getting teased.
"Maybe something a little more casual. You know, so that it doesn't matter if it gets dirty in the playground or during art lessons?" Emma responded tactfully. Snow sighed and nodded, accepting Emma was right. She would still purchase the- in her view- cute outfit but for more formal occasions. Neal smiled gratefully up to his big sister before she checked in on how Eira was getting on with her new jeans. Emma couldn't believe her baby was going into kindergarten.
"You're lucky she never did any of this with you, Emma. Who knows what mom would have had you wear. Probably something frilly and pink." Neal said, sticking his tongue out in disgust at the idea of his cool big sister in some stupid girly dress. Emma just smiled back at him before ducking her head into Eira's cubicle again. Snow just caught the glimpse of sadness in her daughter's eye before she went out of sight. Snow couldn't believe she'd missed this in all the years of school shopping they'd done together between Henry, Neal and Eira. Never once had Emma gotten to do this with her. Never once had Emma gotten to share the buzz of the new school year with her parents. Have first day pictures taken, purchase new stationary, schoolbags and lunch boxes with her favourite cartoon characters on them. She'd missed all of that too. A plan began to form in Snow's head. She could never go back in time and do all those things with Emma; but she could do something similar.
A couple of days later, Snow had spoken of her plan with Charming and arranged for him to take the little ones out so Snow had Emma to herself.
"I thought you and I could go out today." Snow said casually. "Have some proper mother-daughter time. Some of your clothes for working at the station must be getting pretty worn with all the running around you do. I could help you pick out some new ones? Then we could head to catch a movie together, my treat?" Snow offered hopefully. Emma saw right through Snow's plan, but she wasn't going to complain. She was touched that her mom noticed how low she'd gotten during the school haul the other day. Emma smiled at her.
"I'd love that." She responded. Snow's whole face lit up as she grabbed her purse and car keys. Maybe Neal was onto something. Maybe just one formal occasion dress could be slipped into the basket somewhere…
