A fumbling introduction
Prissypink asked for a oneshot of the curse never happening and there being a Ball. Emma trips when talking to Killian and her parents embarrass her by fussing over her. Emma runs off embarrassed, and her parents follow after her but find Killian has got their first and is comforting her.
Emma sighed dreamily as she stared out from where she sat near the edge of the dancefloor staring at the handsome soldier of the sea. He clearly wasn't high in the ranks, he was fresh-faced with a spark of mischief in his blue eyes. He was so handsome. This was probably his first royal Ball.
Emma was so in her own little world staring at him that she didn't notice him coming over to her until he was right by her face. She was so startled that she nearly toppled off of her chair. The mysterious solider bowed deeply before looking up at the princess.
"Your highness." He greeted her in a husky voice that made Emma's heart speed up. He stood up straight and extended one hand. "May I have the honour of this dance?" Emma couldn't believe her luck. She wasn't sure she could speak she was that shocked. She nodded, getting up quickly to wander over with the man to have her dance. But in her hurry to get up, Emma stood on the bottom of her dress and went tumbling over. She crashed to the floor, the chair coming down on top of her. Emma felt her face heat up in embarrassment. She couldn't believe she'd done that! Before she could scramble to her feet, Emma felt two sets of hands helping her up.
"Emma sweetie are you alright? That was quite a fall. Let me see your head. I think you might have banged it…"
"Mom I'm fine." Emma hissed, glancing to the sailor to her side. He looked a little embarrassed himself.
"You might not be Emma, you could have concussion. I'll go find Doc. Sit down baby, you're going to be just fine…"
"I said I'm fine!" Emma snapped. She was so mortified over the whole situation that she yanked her arms away from both of her parents and ran off towards the door with her face in her hands. Snow and Charming gave each other concerned looks before chasing after her. The pair eventually found Emma on the balcony. They were about to go out and comfort her, when they saw that she wasn't alone. She was with one of the sailors that had been invited for their bravery serving the kingdom. They were too far away to catch what they were both saying, but whatever it was seemed to be comforting Emma.
"I don't like this." Charming said gruffly. "We should break this up. It's inappropriate for them to be alone together outside…"
"Oh hush." Snow said playfully, smiling. She knew that look her daughter had on her face. There was no way they were interrupting this conversation. It was just the beginning.
