The Black Spot
64thVanSull asked for a oneshot of Henry and Charming tricking Hook by placing ash on the palm of his hand making him believe he has the Black Spot. He screams at the very sight of it. He freaks out thinking he has little time to live and starts to treat everyone very kindly. He gives a tearful farewell to Emma. Just as he's about to talk to Charming when Henry caves in and tells him of their prank. Emma chases him around angrily.
Hillarie and Nina: I'm afraid these have been too closely covered.
"Shh! We don't want him to wake up before we're finished." Charming whispered, trying to get Henry to stop sniggering. Henry bit against the material of his sleeve in an attempt to control his laughter. Having watched Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest Charming and Henry had concocted a genius (yet evil) prank to play on their favourite real life pirate. They took some ash from the fireplace after it cooled down and now Charming was delicately using a paintbrush to paint a convincing Black Spot onto Hook's good, well, only hand as he napped. Charming could feel Hook waking up just as he finished off. He quickly grabbed the tub of ash and paintbrush before getting up and ushering Henry out of the room with him. The pair just made it into the kitchen in time before Hook woke up properly.
It was a good few minutes before he noticed the spot on his hand. But when he did he screamed like a little girl. Davey Jones had found him here?! He had made no deal with that devil. All he knew for certain was he didn't have much time left. He couldn't tell anyone. Hook couldn't risk Emma finding out. He couldn't put her in that kind of pain. All he could do was subtly try to leave each of her family members and her a parting speech.
He got to Snow first. She didn't understand why he was being so soppy. Had he had rum with his breakfast? Well, extra rum?
After that, he got Henry. Of course Henry understood the meaning behind the subtle talk. Suddenly the prank wasn't so funny anymore.
Then he finally plucked up the courage to talk with Emma. Henry listened in behind the door, and couldn't take it any longer.
"It's not real." He admitted, coming into the room. Both Hook and Emma looked at him. "The Black Spot on your hand Hook? It's ash from the fire. Gramps put it on you while you were napping. Emma now understood why Hook looked so tearful.
"You pair of sneaks! You know how freaked out he gets about pirate stuff! Come here!" Henry bolted as Emma leapt over the table and started to chase after her son. Henry was glad he told the truth, but not so glad about the lecture he and his gramps were soon about to receive.
