Torn
Another of mine based one (possible season 4 spoilers) a deleted scene from season 4 where Snow was reluctant to leave Neal, but with a flipped scenario so it is Emma. Slight season 5 spoilers.
"Snow she'll be fine." Charming pleaded. "Henry and Hook are here, we're not leaving her on her own…"
"If anything happens, you call me immediately. No hesitations. What if she wakes up while we're not here?! What if she thinks we don't care…"
"Snow, you know it's unlikely she'll wake up for a couple of days." Charming reminded her gently. When Emma reappeared in Storybrooke as the Dark One, the power had been too great for her. She fell into a coma, which Whale had kept induced until he could get a handle on her vitals. He was slowly trying to bring her back out, but it was a long drawn out process. Snow and Charming had hardly left the hospital since Emma had been admitted a week ago. Neal had spent the majority of his time with Granny and Red. Charming felt since Emma was definitely stable it was only fair he had some quality time with his parents. "We'll be back first thing tomorrow morning Snow. Neal needs us too…"
"I'm well aware of that." Snow snapped. She sighed, knowing that wasn't fair. "I'm sorry, I just don't want to leave her. I'm worried something will happen."
"Nothing will happen to your daughter under our watch." Hook assured the concerned parents. "Henry and I will be here the whole night." Snow still wasn't happy about the whole situation. She moved back to Emma's side, once again checking all the wires were in the right place and that the machines she was plugged into were beeping away as they should. Charming stayed as patient as possible. He was just as anxious as Snow but he knew this was just how she had to deal with it.
"I fixed her hair into a side pleat this morning after her bath, so she won't need her hair touched and the nurses needn't bathe her. Doctor Whale comes by at seven-thirty to check how she's doing. A couple of days he seems to be running late or being sloppy. If he's not here by seven-thirty five press that blue button and he has to come ASAP. Feel free to give him Hell for not sticking to his schedule when Emma's life could be hanging in the balance…"
"Snow." Charming said. He took her hand and quickly kissed Emma's forehead. "They've got this. They have both our numbers and the house number. Come on, let's go see Neal." Snow gave a worried little look back to Emma lying there as she left. She of course wanted to be with Neal, but she felt torn to stay here with Emma as well. Why had she and Charming never had it easy as parents? Why did they never just get to spend proper time with their children? Why was there always an obstacle?
