Controlling her darkness

snoopykid asked for a oneshot of Snow *season 5 spoilers* commanding Emma with the dagger like in the promo and what led up to that moment.

"Please don't make me do this." Snow begged. This wasn't right. "You're my daughter, I won't control you. You won't hurt anyone Emma. We all trust you…"

"There is no time for this!" Emma yelled urgently. Her hands were shaking, glowing. The heat coming off of them was almost unbearable. She wouldn't be able to control it much longer. But this wasn't just her own light magic. This was the Dark One's powers. If she let this go there was no telling the damage she could cause. "You need to command me not to hurt anyone and you need to do it now." Emma told her. "Please!" Snow bit her lip. She couldn't take the pleading in her daughter's eyes. She stepped forward, the dagger raised in one hand. Emma looked into her mother's eyes. "The fight to control my darkness has just begun." Emma told her. "I'm going to need you to help." Snow nodded, but she still didn't like this. Emma was her daughter, her child. She shouldn't be commanding her.

"I command thee, Dark One," Snow began sadly "to not hurt a single soul." The glowing in Emma's hands immediately stopped. She jolted forward before jerking backwards, the power being absorbed back into her. Snow moved forward and caught Emma. "You're ok." She promised her. "You're safe. Let's get you back home. Here, hold this…"

"No!" Emma shouted, lurching away from the dagger. "I can't have that. The temptation is too great with the Dark One's urges running through my head. Please, keep it. I need someone I trust to have it. You and dad keep hold of it. Keep it, keep me, keep everyone, safe." Snow took Emma's face in her hands and nodded. If that was what she wanted she and Charming would guard this dagger with their lives until they found Merlin and had the darkness removed from Emma.
