The upper west part

alemigui asked for a oneshot of a young Emma going into a part of the castle she's not supposed to go into to prove she's a big girl. Snow and Charming freak out because they can't find her. They finally find her scared because she got lost and couldn't find her way back.

Emma's eyes filled with wonder as she looked around the room. Most of the objects were covered by dusty cloths, clearly having not been touched for years. Emma had been forbidden from ever entering the west side of the palace above the fourth floor, even with her parents. They told her most of the objects here were broken and sharp, and Emma could get hurt. Emma disagreed. She was six now, a big girl. She could handle some sharp objects. After she had her fill carefully examining the contents of the room, Emma left to return back downstairs and make sure her parents knew what a big girl she was.

The only problem was, after about an hour Emma still wasn't back into the familiar territory of her home. She had gotten herself completely lost. By this point Snow and Charming had noticed she was missing and were looking for her themselves. The parents were panicking, worried she'd been snatched. They had half the guards looking for her.

They only examined the abandoned rooms as a last resort, trusting that Emma would obey them and not go up there. When they heard her frightened sniffles they knew they were wrong.

"There you are!" Charming said, relieved. "Emma what are you doing up here? You know you're not supposed to be here because it's dangerous."

"I just wanted to show you both I'm a big girl." Emma sniffed. "Then I got lost."

"Oh you silly pudding." Charming sighed, picking her up. Emma snuggled into his shoulder. Snow came over and quickly checked Emma over.

"Well we're glad you're not hurt, but that was really silly Emma." Snow said, once she was happy Emma wasn't hurt. "You could have really hurt yourself, and we've got lots of people out looking for you right now."

"I'm sorry." Emma said, feeling guilty. "I didn't mean to upset you."

"We know baby, but try to remember that if we tell you not to do something, it's probably for your own protection." Charming gently reprimanded her. Emma just nodded against his shoulder. She knew she shouldn't have now. She was just glad her mommy and daddy found her, like they said they always would.
