Not ideal timing
Nitin asked for a oneshot of Snow's waters breaking during a council meeting but she pretends nothing happened.
Snow fought the urge to sigh and rest her chin on her hands. These monthly meetings were the bane of her life, always so monotonous. Her and Charming's eyes flickered occasionally to Emma, who was playing very nicely in the corner of the room in her playpen Geppetto made for her. With all her trusted guardians in the one room it was easier and safer for the little toddler to be alongside them.
Suddenly, Snow felt a sharp pain in her belly, followed by a wet sensation between her legs. No, not now! She knew it would be soon that she went into labour, but not quite this soon. The small yelp she gave had everyone around the table looking at her, fearing the worst. Snow looked over to see even her little daughter was looking up at her, bottom lip quivering slightly. She had frightened Emma, something she never wanted to do. Emma might be young, but she knew the pattern of these meetings, after all, she sat through them every month as well. If Snow interrupted the pattern and then suddenly left her the poor tot would be very confused and upset. There was going to be enough of that when the baby was born, so Snow would hold off for a few more minutes.
"Everything's fine." She said, smiling over at Emma in particular. "We're nearly done here. Let's zoom through any causes for concern the people of the kingdom have and get out of here. It's a lovely autumn day, after all." People around the table nodded and gave any issues that needed fixing. Snow and Charming gave any instructions needed before they both gave the order for the meeting to be ended. "Red, could you please take Emma out to play for a while? I'd like to have a quiet word with Doc." Red nodded suspiciously. She went over and picked up the little toddler who yelled out in disagreement, reaching for her parents.
"It's ok baby. Auntie Red's going to take you to play. We'll see you real soon." Snow cooed over to her. Emma still didn't seem satisfied, but didn't put up a fight as Red carried her out. When it was only Doc and Charming in the room, Snow finally let it out. "I'm in labour." Snow said quickly. "Waters broke about ten minutes ago…"
"What?!" Charming asked, alarmed. "Snow! Why did you carry on with that meeting?!"
"Emma." Snow answered him. "She was scared. I wanted to keep the disruption to a minimum for her. Her life's about to be turned upside down as it is. It's done now. This baby is coming." Snow took Charming's hand. "Ready for number two?" She asked. Charming grinned before kissing her.
"You bet."
