Like a jigsaw

snoopykid asked for a oneshot of *season 5 spoilers* an aftermath discussion between the group about what could have happened during the 6 weeks from Henry's POV.

"Great!" My mom said, kicking one of the bar stools. "Just great! She's gone all Joker on us and we don't even have the memories to put together the pieces of why."

"We wouldn't fail her." My grandpa says, clearly heartbroken at how he'd just seen Emma. "We wouldn't give up on her, I know that. I would have done anything to get her back…"

"We don't know that she's telling the truth." My mom cut him off. "She's the Dark One, remember? They have a habit of lying."

"It's also possible she was lied to." Hook said quietly. I knew seeing my mom like that was hard on him. He loved her so much. It seemed her would forever lose his love to the darkness.

"I shouldn't have broken the pen." I said quietly, looking down at the ground. "If I hadn't I could have fixed all of this as soon as it happened. I should have been strong enough to deal with the power…"

"No." My mom said softly. I heard her footsteps before I felt her wrap her arms around my shoulders and pull me close. "None of this is your fault, Henry. It's nobody's. "What matters now is that we try and find a way to get our memories back. Emma has a lot of prior knowledge on curses, and being the Dark One she has enough power to make this hard to break so you can bet true love's kiss is out. We need to work out what happened so we can somehow make it right. If enough of the old Emma remains we could be able to convince her to stop whatever she is planning."

"If enough of her remains? Of course she remains!" My grandpa snapped.

"Stop!" I said quickly, knowing where this was heading. "We need to work together. If we start to fight it will only make things harder than they already are."

"The lad's right." Robin said. "I do not want my baby to come into a world filled with dangers, and we can get rid of a lot from this town if we can get the darkness out of Emma. So I'm willing to do anything."

"We will do anything to save our daughter." Grandpa agreed, coming forward and shaking Robin's hand.

"You're not the only one." Hook added, he stepped forward and clapped both my grandpa and Robin on the back. My mom rolled her eyes but joined the group at the same time as my grandma. I smiled. Once more we had hope. Once more we had a shot. We could rescue my mom.
