Slipping into darkness

Guest asked for a oneshot of Emma not listening to her mom when she asks her not to do something. When Snow persists, Emma snaps and pushes her mom using her powers making Snow fall and injure herself. Emma is horrified, this having been an accident. Snow recovers after a trip to hospital. Some angst and hurt/comfort. *season 5 spoilers* I'll be setting this in Camelot during Emma's decent into darkness.

"Emma stop!" Snow called, following her daughter down the path to the forest. Emma ignored her mother. She had to do this. Rumplestiltskin was in her ear telling her if she didn't she'd never ben rid of the darkness. She had to find that child and get the last pouch of Merlin's magic. It didn't matter what happened to the child, at least so Rumple told her. "Emma think about what you're doing! Do not give into the darkness."

"Go back home mom!" Emma called behind her, still marching forward. "I'm doing this to keep you safe!"

"Emma this isn't the right way and I won't let you!" Snow blocked Emma's path. "I refuse to let you give into the darkness."

"Are you going to let her stand in your way?" Rumple asked. "She doesn't understand, does she? Think about the greater good, Emma. Get rid of her." Emma felt her hand shaking. She tried to push past her mom, but she refused to budge. Before Emma knew what was happening her hand flew out and suddenly her mom went blasting back into the nearest tree. She slumped against it, unconscious. Emma looked round to ask Rumplestiltskin what he had done, but he had vanished, leaving Emma to deal with it herself. Emma rushed to her mom's side, but she wouldn't wake up. She heard footsteps and hooves behind her. She looked back to see King Arthur and her father.

"Emma!" Charming shouted, running over to them. "Emma, what happened?" He asked. Emma backed away, worried she'd hurt him too.

"I can't control it. I'm not safe. I said you shouldn't have come!" Emma said, panicking.

"Can't control what? Is she a risk to my kingdom?" Arthur asked, raising his sword. Emma knew it wasn't fair keeping it from him anymore, he had to know.

"I'm the Dark One." She admitted. "I was cursed with this dark magic and I need Merlin to help me be free of it." Arthur snarled.

"You let this demon into my kingdom?!" He barked. Charming grabbed him by the scruff of the neck.

"Call my daughter a demon one more time and we're going to have a problem." He snarled. "You heard her, she was cursed with this. This was an accident. Emma would never intentionally hurt her mother. What matters now is that we get Snow back to the medical room in your castle and have her healed." Arthur freed himself from Charming's grip and pointed harshly at Emma.

"Is she safe?" He asked. "I won't have her here if she isn't?" Emma's shoulders slumped. She'd ruined everything.

"It's ok. I'll leave." She said quietly. "Please, just let me know if you find Merlin…"

"No." Charming said, reaching forward and grabbing Emma's hand. "Emma you're not leaving. I've lost you too many times. This was an accident, and the quicker we find Merlin the quicker these accidents will stop happening. I refuse to let you leave. Please, your mother will need you when she wakes up."

"But I'm dangerous." Emma commented. "I can't be trusted…"

"Yes you can." Charming said firmly, a tight grip on Emma's hand. "You're not leaving." He looked to Arthur. "If you wouldn't mind please help my wife onto your horse and have her taken back to the castle. I'm walking back with my daughter." Charming said, wrapping an arm around Emma's shoulders." Arthur nodded, helping the injured Snow onto the horse before the group began to head back.

It took a week before Snow was well enough for Snow to visit her. When Emma was summoned, she was terrified her mom was going to tell her to leave her sight and never come back…but she didn't. Snow welcomed Emma with open arms, assuring her that all was forgiven, she knew it was an accident. This did little to ease Emma's fears. This was just one accident. Who knew when it could happen again? What if it was Henry, or even little Neal? They had to find Merlin, and they had to find him fast.
