Legend of Zelda TP Scene: The Fallout from Koga and Tara slaughtering the Tribal Hunters at their HQ takes the head as Zelda pays them both a visit.
"That was a lot easier than I thought," Tara said as we exited the Tribal Hunters' building, blood all over us.
They had strength in numbers, but we had more power. Yet, we expected things to be a bit more complicated than that, shit. I'm startin' to think the Guards could've dealt with them - what a way to waste my afternoon.
"C'mon, Tea. Let's get back to the South End. People are starting to stare," I said.
The North End residents were indeed staring at us, Tribal Hunter blood covering our clothes not helping matters. It doesn't help that we're covered in a bunch Tribal Hunter Blood.
"You think you can just walk away after what you just did?"
We turn to see another Tribal Hunter, bruises all over his face and cuts on his chest. His clothes were torn and tattered. He must've been a North Ender.
I give Tea an annoyed look. "I thought you said you killed everyone?"
"I thought I did! Clearly, I didn't," she said, making no attempt to come up with a counterargument before eyeing him annoyedly. "Bold of ya to come out after us considering what we just did to your stupid little posse. Think really hard before ya act, because if it's stupid enough, it'll cost you."
"This city is better off without outsiders like you! I will die for my belief, even if my brethren are no longer with me!" he shouted.
Uninterested and unimpressed, we start walking to the South End. He wasn't going to let us go, as he got in our way. "We aren't finished!" He then shoved me roughly. I give him an annoyed look, hiding my anger.
"Oh, shit. Uh, I'm gonna go ahead Onee-chan. I'll see you in a bit." Tea said as she continued walking.
"I won't be far, Tea," I said to her as I eye the Tribal Hunter.
In one swift motion, I punch his head clean off his shoulders. It flew straight up, blood sprouted out of his neck like a geyser at the Death Mountain Springs. I maneuver around him as his lifeless body drops to the ground. The other North Enders gave off horrified looks or flinched when I walked past them. All I could think about was how this shower is going to feel and how good it will feel to get this blood off my person.
"Jeez, Onee-chan. You punched him hard. That push must've pissed ya off."
"I'm just not in a good mood today. I already want the day to end."
Tea views her bloodstained clothes. Granted, her coat's as red as her hair, but you can still notice a few spots of blood on it. Despite some on her face, she looks no worse for wear.
I wish I could say the same for myself, blood on my face, shirt, and coat - a lot to be specific.
"Ugh... I mean, I don't mind the coat, but this is my favorite T-Shirt!" Tea complained as her purple swirl T-Shirt was ruined. "Now I gotta rewash it after I shower! This fucking blows."
We continued our trek to the south end and cleaned up before clearing the blood off what we wore.
The next couple of days went by as if nothing happened. Not to say we regret our choice, but if we didn't deal with them, they could've gained a sizable influence since they were mostly North Enders. That would've fed their ego something fierce. But we didn't know the effect of the act until a few days after.
One morning, while counting the rupees we had to make rent on time (I won 5,500 rupees by guessing Telma's age the night before); we had a visitor.
"That's enough for the month. But with the rupees from that contest at Telma's, we're solid for another three months. How old is she anyway?" Tea asked me as she drank her namesake.
"Thirty-Eight. If I guessed Thirty-Seven or Thirty-Nine, I would've still won it," I responded as we heard a knocking on our door. "You got a booty call this early in the morning?"
"No, not- Ay, fuck you!" she angrily answered.
"Just making sure," I reassured. "Comin'!"
I opened the door to see the Princess of Hyrule, Zelda, on the other side. "Your Majesty? Rent's not due today."
"May I come in, Koga?" she asked politely before I cleared the way for her as she greeted my twin. "Tara, a pleasure as always."
"G' morning, Z. Rent's not due for another week." Tea greeted her.
"You're correct, and by the look of things, you seem to have it ready. Quite proactive on your part," Zelda complimented. "But my collecting of your rent money is not why I'm here this morning. I personally wanted to extend my thanks and an apology."
"Thanks?" Tea asked.
"Apologies?" I follow up.
Zelda chuckled. "It has been brought to my attention by some North End residents that you two singlehandedly killed those so-called Tribal Hunters a few days ago, correct?"
We nodded.
"Well, I thank you both for dealing with them for me. But I am truly sorry that I could do nothing as I wasn't informed of this until a couple of days after you two killed them all. It would seem there are members of my court who were their supporters and decided to keep me out of the loop," she informed us.
"It would help to not surround yourself with yes men or asskissers, Your Majesty."
"I'll say, Onee-chan. We can't speak for you because we aren't royalty, but it would be easier for everyone if you had at least one person in your court who's trustworthy."
"I agree, Tara. Alas, it's harder than I realized. Maybe now it's a little less difficult ever since I punished those who supported this cult-like faction."
"And what might the punishment be, Z? You gave them a slap on the wrist and removed them from the court?" Tea sarcastically inquired.
"I'm not so merciful when it comes to matters like this, Tara. The Tribal Hunters were a 'behind the scenes' political-military. Those of the court who were supportive of them funded them slowly. Had their influence spread, they would've made a hit out for me. I do not play when it comes to matters of betrayal or violence in my kingdom. So I had them killed for treason." Zelda answered, annoyed at the mere inquiry.
It seems that she doesn't play, after all, Tara and I rendered silent.
"You two should know by now that I do not jest when it comes to the safety of my people or my kingdom, much akin to you two and your people. Although I am not as gritty as you two, reports stated that your clothes and faces were bathed in their blood. Your combat savagery is a trait I wish I shared."
"Well, now what, Your Majesty? The Tribal Hunters are dead, and you have given us your thanks and apologies. Is there anything else you wished to say?" I ask her.
She chuckled. "Always so formal, Koga. It is respectable, but I insist you just call me Zelda. I come to offer a new location. A building in the West End has been vacated, and since no one lives there now, you may move your firm up out of the South End, if you so wish."
I immediately shook my head. "We appreciate the offer, but we'd rather stay. You rarely come down here, and when you do, our rent comes due. So you don't know that the entire side of the city, except for Telma and her crew, hate you and every North Ender. The South End is starting to like us now, so if we leave, that'd be a betrayal of their trust. Plus, North Enders need to know a little humility since we're the only PIs in the city. If they want us hired, they're gonna have to see that the many rupees they spend on fine living could've been spent on renovating the South End, yourself included. Well, when we get clients anyway."
"Besides, how corrupt is the government when nearly every member of your court knew and supported the Tribal Hunters? How could a collage of kissasses withhold information like that for so long from you?" Tea asked.
Zelda sighed. "I'm not perfect, Tara. A group of racists is more effective than one. History supports that with the Gerudos recently going extinct due to their strict laws on love and marriage. Which is why I support the other tribes so much. The Gorons, the Zoras, the Sheikah when they were still around, and the Imps."
"I'm surprised that your people are accepting of your openly supporting the Tribes like this. I mean sure they all squat down here, but they never complained about the others. The moment you let us in, that's when the complaining began. The people here are extremely fickle," Tea mentioned.
"A fact I'm well aware of, believe me. But I wasn't expecting you two to be so knowledgeable about the city despite not being here for long. I would love to discuss politics with you two." Zelda responded.
"We aren't all brutes, Zelda. I admit that some of our brethren aren't the sharpest tools in the shed, but we aren't among them. We can be diplomatic if the need arises. Dealing with the Tribal Hunters didn't give us the time to be as such. That's why we aren't judging your decision to kill off the guilty." Tea reminded her.
"Oh, I appreciate your bluntness and honesty. If allowed, I thought you two would jump at the opportunity to leave the South End. I assumed you two to be one-track-minded. But after hearing the explanation as to why you'll stay down here, I must apologize judging you from the minimal experience I had with you instead of sitting down and conversing like civilized people." She said as she stood up, prompting us to stand up with her. "Consider your rent paid. You own the building now. I will send a courier to give you the deed after I find it. I will also put a good word in so that people may start hiring you for cases, the residents of the North End included. I agree that they are in serious need of discipline and humility."
"Do you need an escort back to the castle?" Tea asked.
She was about to decline but sprouted a smile before nodding. "That would be nice. Koga, if you don't mind? I'll pay you."
"Okay, Zelda. Lead the way." I answered as we leave the office.
"I would bless Nayru, but I know that you, your sister, and your Tribe are devout followers of Din. You two dealing with the Tribal Hunters have made the East, West, and South End citizens safer and happier. They may not say it to your face, but they owe you big for this," she thanked me again.
"It's nothing. Either we were going to deal with them, or you would've." I try to discount our actions, but she shook her head as we continued into the North End.
"But if I dealt with it, we wouldn't have had our conversation, and I wouldn't have learned as much as I did. I will not allow you and your sister to sell yourselves short when your actions haven't earned it. The city, whether they want to admit it or not, needs people like you and Tara. They'll warm up to you eventually because I do." Zelda shot back as we reach the castle gates. "My thanks again for what you have done." She bowed. "It means a lot to me."
"It was nothing, Zelda. A safe rest of your day," I said my goodbye as I turn to head back to the South End.
However, I felt something on my arm, and I see it's Zelda's hand. I look up at her face as she blushed deeply.
"Um... if you don't mind, Koga... I would like to see you more often. I find you enjoyable to be around. If you would have me, that is," she spoke up.
Instinctively, I smile back at her. "Of course, Zelda. If that's what you want. But what would your people think of that?"
"My personal life is none of their business. When I do not need to tend to matters, whom I spend my time with is none of their concern," she shot down the possible accusation before her look and tone softened. "I look forward to our next meeting, Koga."
Surprisingly, Zelda leaned in and softly kissed me. My eyes widen at the action, and I see some North Enders gasping, mouths agape at what they're seeing. But Zelda said she doesn't care, so why should I? I returned the kiss, earning a soft moan from the Princess. We break away, her face beet red.
"I'll see you later, Koga," Zelda said her goodbye, her blush remaining just as strong as she walked through the gates.
I feel my face and notice that I'm blushing. "Tea is not going to believe this," I muttered before eventually turning around to head back to the office.
A/N: And that's the third installment. Let me know what you thought of it.
Also, I promise not every edition will have The Demon Twins, as I call Koga and Tara. But they're the characters that I had the most lost ideas with so you'll see them the most.
Alright, I'll see you all soon.
