The room was chilly. The hall was bright. The world was at stake.

The only thing standing between the human and oblivion is a certain skeleton with a blue hoodie named Sans.

The fight had been going on for half an hour with Sans dodging each of the human's attacks and throwing his own.

But as the fight went on, Sans' gradually became more and more tired. Sweat dropped down his head as his eyes started to get heavy.

Eventually, Sans was forced to use his 'Special Attack' right after throwing the human in an array of bones and blasters at them.

Finally, when all is said and done, Sans huffs and puffs as the sweat drips down his face. "huff... puff... all right. that's it. it's time for my special attack. are you ready? here goes nothing."

...

Nothing.

The human stood there, their facial expressions not changing a bit. Still keeping that same, close eyed, blank neutral expression.

Sans chuckled. "yep. that's right. it's literally nothing. and it's not going to be anything either. heh heh heh... ya get it? i know i can't beat you. one of your turns... you're just gonna kill me. so, uh. i've decided... it's not gonna BE your turn. ever. i'm just gonna keep having my turn until you give up. even if it means having to stand here until the end of time. capiche?"

...

Still nothing.

No reaction from the human at all.

"you'll get bored, here. if you haven't gotten bored already, i mean. then you'll finally quit."

...

"i know your type. you're, uhh, very determined, aren't you. you'll never give up, even if there's... uh... absolutely NO benefit to persevering whatsoever. if i can make that clear. no matter what, you'll just keep going. not out of desire for good or evil. but just because you think you 'can'. and because you 'can', you 'have to'."

...

"but now, you've reached the end. there is nothing left for you now. so, uhh, in my personal opinion. the most 'determined' thing you can do here. is to, uh, give up. and... (yawn) do literally anything else."

...

Sans' eyes began to get heavier and heavier. His eyes began to close. As he slowly lowered his eyelids, he could see the human slowly moving towards them. He mentally smirked, he really expected this kinda thing from them. Like a moth to the flame.

As he closed his eyes and began to fake snore, he could hear the human's footsteps grow louder and louder. It seems that they were approaching them. Once the footsteps stop, Sans could tell that the human was standing right in front of him now.

The human raises the knife in the air and swung down on the sleeping skeleton... Who wakes up in time to dodge the slash.

"heh. didja really think that-"

Slash!

999999999999999

Sans sat there, bleeding from the mouth and the large cut on his chest. He slowly breathed in and out. Sans glanced at the cut and back at the human. "so. guess that's it, huh?"

Sans slowly stood up from the floor, a hand on his bleeding chest. "just... don't say i didn't warn you..." He shrugs and winks at the human one last time. "welp. i'm going to grillby's."

As Sans began to slowly shuffle away from the human. He coughed some more blood from his mouth as the pain on his chest grew. He looked at the ceiling with a grin on his face. "papyrus. do you want anything?"

Finally, Sans coughs one last time as he fell to his knees. At that moment, Sans could feel his own body spread into a million pieces of dust as he disintegrates into the air.

...

...

...

Darkness.

That was all that was left.

Complete and utter darkness.

It was all Sans could see after 'opening' his eyes.

Sans could feel himself floating in the darkness. Was this what death was like? It seemed boring.

Well, there was nothing he could do now so might as well just float there and take a nap. It was not that different when he was alive anyway. With a shrug, Sans placed his arms behind his head and floated in the darkness.

SANS

Huh? Sans opened his eyes and glanced around the area. He could've sworn he heard something. Was someone else there with him?

IT SEEMS YOU HAVE LOST

Yep, there it is again. Sans crossed his arms. "who are you?"

IT DOES NOT MATTER WHO OR WHAT I AM

WHAT MATTERS IS WHAT IS GOING TO HAPPEN

"not exactly the answer i'm looking for but sure."

HM YOU LOST

YOU LOST AND NOW YOU'RE ALONE IN THE DARK

"hey. no need to rub it in." Sans frowned. He then took notice of the mysterious whisper. He couldn't quite explain it but it was... Familiar to say the least. "say, don't i know you from somewhere?"

MAYBE

MAYBE NOT

IT DOESN'T REALLY MATTER IN THE END

Sans shrugged. "whatever you say, weird voice."

DO YOU WISH TO GO BACK?

Sans perked up at the question. What did they mean? Go back? "wait. what do you mean?"

DO YOU WISH TO GO BACK TO THE WORLD?

TO BE ALIVE ONCE MORE?

"i dunno. i guess? definitely beats floating around in darkness forever, dont'cha think?"

I SEE

BUT

THE WORLD YOU ONCE RESIDED IN NO LONGER EXISTS

IT HAS BEEN ERASED

NOT A SINGLE TRACE OF IT IS LEFT

Sans hears this and rolled his eyes. Yep, that's exactly what he was expecting when the human kept going on with their needless murdering. Should've heeded his warning. "yeah, i kinda expected that. welp, what can ya do?"

I CAN BRING YOU BACK

"hm? elaborate?"

I CAN BRING YOU BACK TO LIFE IN A WAY

IN ANOTHER WORLD

YOU WILL BE GIVEN ANOTHER CHANCE

YOUR ABILITIES WILL REMAIN AND HALF OF YOUR MEMORIES WILL STAY AT THE COST OF THE OTHER HALF

So Sans is allowed to go back to life in another world? And he can keep his powers at the cost of some of his memories? Well, he wasn't using the space upstairs much anyways. Sans shrugged. "sure. why not."

VERY WELL

YOU WILL BE TRANSPORTED TO THE OTHER WORLD VERY SHORTLY

YOU WILL NOW RESIDE IN A BRAND NEW VESSEL

TREAT THAT VESSEL WELL

AND YOU WILL NEVER BE LOST AGAIN

A new vessel? They probably meant his body. If that's the case, then he probably won't be a skeleton anymore once this goes through. Sans takes one last look at his own self. He's definitely gonna miss the skeleton look. It fueled like 80% of his bone puns.

"alright, i'm ready when you are, ya weirdo."

VERY WELL

GOOD LUCK

Soon, the darkness began to become brighter and brighter. Sans had to cover his eyes as the brightness was almost blinding until...

...

...

...

Sans slowly opened his eyes as he found himself in a smaller stature. Did he shrunk? No way Sans got way smaller than he already is.

Besides that, Sans found himself laying in a rather small basket in front of a door in the middle of a rainy night.

Soon, the door opens and a woman with red skin, a tail, yellow eyes, dark hair and black horns with thin white lines. The woman looked down on the basket with a worried expression. "Oh, dear! Who could leave such an adorable miracle?"

The red woman picked up the bad and looked into it. She stared at the tiny creature inside which had pale white skin and yellow eyes like she did but the most striking feature of the small creature was it's rosy red cheeks that was similar to a certain figure of high authority.

As Sans stared at the woman and looked down at his tiny self, only one thought crossed his mind.

'did i just turn into a baby? weird.'

To be continued...
