Athena gathered all the gods into a different room than the children.
"Why are we here Athena?" Zeus asked.
"I need to tell you all something very important." Athena starts.
"Does it have something to do with the children?" Artemis asks.
"Yes." Athena takes a deep breath. "The side effect is… much more literal than I thought it was."
"Go on." Hades says, listening intently. He didn't like where this was going. None of the gods did.
"As you saw the mini hurricane came when it described Percy's powers. It was real." Athena explains.
It was quiet for a moment.
"You mean that whatever is described is actually going to happen." Apollo says quietly.
"Yes." Athena confirms. "So, any injury described. Well… let's hope it's not too bad."
All the gods were silent thinking about what could happen. Hephaestus had stopped tinkering, Dionysus actually paying attention. This was serious.
"I have a feeling we won't be so lucky." Poseidon says with a dark face.
"I'll keep medical supplies with me." Apollo says grimly. "This could get bad." He was silent for a moment before continuing with a serious look. "Anyone with medical abilities will be helping. My son probably will be too."
"I'll be right by you brother." Artemis confirms.
"Me as well." Poseidon says. "As we've seen the water helps him."
Apollo nodded. "Okay."
"I wonder if the children know." Athena wonders aloud.
"Your daughter has probably figured it out." Artemis says.
Athena nodded.
"Let us head to the kitchens and start the meal. We know what will happen all that's left is to deal with it." Aphrodite says, leading the way.
-in a room across the hall—
"I need to tell you all something." Annabeth says nervous.
"What's up?" Thalia asks, sensing her friend's mood.
"The side effect." Annabeth starts.
"Which really sucks." Leo says.
"Yeah well it's about to suck a whole lot more." Annabeth says. "As you saw, when describing the bathroom, Percy's powers, a mini hurricane actually formed. It was real."
It was quiet as that sunk in.
"No." Piper gasped. "You don't mean- "
"Yeah." Annabeth sighs. "Whatever happens is going to happen again."
"That's not good." Hazel says, thinking of their quest to Alaska. "Not good at all."
"No it's not." Jason says thinking of Tartarus.
"Guys the capture the flag game." Clarisse says looking to Percy.
"The hellhound." Percy sighs.
"Hell hound?" Jason asked.
"There was a hellhound attack in the game that's coming up." Katie explains. "And attacked Percy."
Will winced. "That wasn't pretty. I'm really glad we were by the river."
"These books aren't going to be good to you are they." Jason states.
"No." Percy sighs. "They're not. Just my luck."
"Don't worry Perce. We're all here for you okay?" Grover tells him. "We'll make sure you're okay."
"I'll keep some supplies on hand, and our parents probably already figured it out so my dad probably will too." Will says.
"Thanks guys." Percy says. He takes a deep breath. "Well there's nothing we can do now so let's go eat."
The rest agreed and they left the room, not looking forward to what was going to come.
