The gods showed the demigods their rooms after making sure that Percy and Clarisse were all right. With many assurances they were left alone for the night. After they had disappeared Clarisse turned to Percy who nodded. The two left the room, shutting the door behind them.
"Where'd they go?" Frank asked.
"They're going to spar." Annabeth says. "Clarisse is the only one who can do that with him when he gets like this. She's not afraid of playing dirty."
"This is about what my father said earlier isn't it." Jason says.
"Yeah it is." Annabeth confirms.
"He's really passionate." Thalia says.
"He really is." Katie confirms.
It's silent for a minute.
"Want to go find them?" Nico says.
"Yup." They all say, leaving the room to go watch this fight.
When they found the two, they were immersed in what looked like a fight to the death. They filed into the stands to watch. As the fight continued on, they all started to get into it, cheering and yelling.
Annabeth, Thalia, Nico, Hazel, Grover, Will, and Frank were cheering for Percy. Leo, Jason, Piper, Travis, Connor, and Katie for Clarisse.
Soon they'd all been out there for half an hour and the fight was still going strong. Each fighter covered in cuts and bruises. They pulled back for a minute panting.
"Is it over?" Jason asked.
"No." Annabeth shakes her head. "They don't stop until one of them wins or collapses."
Jason whistles. "Intense."
"They're the most intense matches at camp." Katie says.
"Usually I deal with the aftermath." Will sighs.
After a minute they two launched at each other again swords clanging together. Soon they were all back to cheering.
"What is this?"
They all jump.
They turn around to see Poseidon standing behind them.
"Lord Poseidon." Hazel says.
"Zeus upset Percy earlier saying that it was okay for the gods to ignore their children." Annabeth explains. "That's a topic that, well, gets Percy heated and passionate. He couldn't fight Zeus, so Clarisse offered."
Poseidon nodded, remembering how angry his son had gotten earlier. He watched the two fighting, impressed that they could keep going after being in the ring for almost an hour already.
Slowly the other gods, except Hera, came into the stands, summoned by the cheers and sound of blades hitting each other.
"He truly is powerful." Athena says.
"He really is mother." Annabeth tells her.
"YEAH PERCY!" Thalia yells as he disarmed Clarisse.
"The officially score is now five for Percy, three for Clarisse!" Travis announced to everyone.
Clarisse and Percy shake hands, smiling at each other.
Ares watches the kid, looking forward to his fight with him tomorrow.
"WHAT IS THE MEANING OF THIS!?"
Everyone looks to the entrance to see Hera standing there, seething.
Zeus looks sheepish, he had gotten just as invested as everyone else. "Nothing dear. We were just heading to bed."
"You should have been in bed hours ago." Hera tells him.
It was then that they all realized it was around two am.
"Whoops." Demeter says.
"BED! NOW!" Hera demands.
Everyone quickly left the arena and went back to their rooms. Clarisse stole one of the bathrooms to clean herself up. Percy did the same, slightly wincing, still sore from the chapter they had just read.
"He'll be okay?" Leo asks.
"Yeah he'll be fine." Connor says.
"Like we said this is a common occurrence." Travis tells him.
"I'll check them both over when they come back out." Will assures them.
"Come on guys let's sleep now." Frank says to them.
They all nodded heading into the two bedrooms that branched off from the common room they were in. Boys to the left girls to the right. They had to be well rested for what was to come. Especially Annabeth, Grover, and Percy. This book was about them after all.
A few minutes later Percy and Clarisse came out and stopped when they saw Will.
"You know the drill." Will says.
The two sat down and cooperated for their impromptu medical exam. Will ended up bandaging a cut on Clarisse's arm and giving her a small piece of ambrosia. Percy, after his shower, was healed up nicely.
"Go to bed." Will says. "And try to actually sleep."
They two nodded in agreement and they all headed to bed.
After a couple hours, the demigods were woken up to yelling. Annabeth sat up straight.
"Percy."
Leaving the girl's room she ran into the boy's where Nico was trying to get Percy to wake up.
"Perce. Come on it's a dream."
"Move Nico." Annabeth tells him.
He quickly did and Annabeth took his place. As soon as she was touching Percy he started calming down.
"That's it, seaweed brain come on."
The others had gathered at the door and watched concerned.
"What's going on?" came a voice from behind them.
"Mom." Piper said turning around.
"Percy's having a nightmare." Clarisse tells the goddess.
Aphrodite looked into the room to see Annabeth stroking Percy's hair while muttering to him.
"She's helping him he's waking up." Aphrodite says.
"How come I couldn't?" Nico asked.
"Annabeth is the love of his life." Aphrodite explains. "It only makes sense that her touch would bring him back."
The others nodded and watched as Percy woke up, hugging Annabeth.
"Come, lets leave them be." Aphrodite says leading them out of the room. "I'll bring you to another room."
They all followed the goddess to the room across the hall. Once they all had settled Aphrodite left them to try and sleep for a few more hours.
"Are his nightmares always that bad?" Jason asked.
"Yeah." Clarisse confirms.
"That sucks."
"Come on lets try and sleep." Thalia says.
None of them slept.
When morning came around, they gathered in the kitchens for breakfast. All the demigods looked exhausted and were falling asleep at their seats. Percy was holding onto Annabeth like she would disappear if he didn't. They were all picking at their food, not really interested in it.
"What's going on?" Artemis asked the other gods.
"Nightmares." Aphrodite explains. "Percy started yelling last night."
Poseidon looked over at his son concerned.
"None of them slept." Hermes says with a small frown.
"It looks like that." Apollo says coming over.
"I wonder if we can do anything about the nightmares." Artemis wonders.
"We'll work on something." Hermes and Apollo say.
"I want to help." Will says, sliding over.
The two gods nodded in agreement.
The others nodded as well and continued with their breakfast, watching their children worriedly. When everyone was done they gathered back into the throne room.
The demigods basically collapsed into their seats, leaning on each other, and suppressing yawns.
"Let us continue." Hera says, seemingly not noticing the state of the children.
"I'll read next." Hermes volunteers.
