Moonlit Night - Date A Live Music Extended
His name was Shidou Itsuka, or Shinji Takamiya as he was currently called. Whichever you prefer. And he was dreaming.
He was simply sitting on a chair, located on the edge of a wooden fishing bridge, overseeing a beautiful clear lake. He could also see the trees that covered the horizon, and he could see the afternoon sun, permanently fixed and shining down its rays towards the swaying waters.
This was not a reality. This was but a dream. No one would be able to bother him here. Reminiscence and melancholy seem to be at the forefront of his mind. He smiled, looking at memories that long since passed away. His heart would speak in soft whispers, ones that were directed towards two important people in his life that was no longer here.
"...Papa's going to be okay."
Yes, he was going to be fine. In fact, he was already mostly fine. It had been many years for him, and many things have taken place in his life. He was just looking back at the moments when he got to spend time with his beloved wife and his most cherished daughter. After them, he was thinking about his mother. And then, the rest of the women that he grew close with.
He was going to be okay. This was a resolve that had already been embedded into him for a very long time. He is not getting over the loss, but rather, he moves forward, walking with a smile on his face. Even if it was sad, it was also happy, and he had the belief that they wanted him to be happy.
"Black Sun."
An old name. An old title. He glanced to his right and there was someone who looked like him. He had straight dark blue hair with grey sides and brown eyes, with a stubble grey beard. He was wearing a black blazer with white stripes, reminiscent of the black blazer of his old Raizen High School uniform, with the logo "RX" seen attached to the left side of his chest, with grey trousers that had black and white lines seen from the sides. He had black (left hand) and white (right hand) fingerless gloves, one for each hand. He wore black (left foot) and white (right) socks and black-white sports shoes.
Shidou smiled a little, recognizing his partner. "Oh... hey BK."
BK is the nickname that Shidou used to refer to the Black Kingstone, or originally called Kingstone when he had no name, as the latter would be the origin and source of divine power that was embedded in him very long ago. As this was his dreamscape, the Kingstone could visit by himself.
"So majestic and peaceful," BK noted with a serious tone, with his hands placed in his pockets. "Quite unlike how it was during the War."
Shidou breathed a heavy sigh, looking at BK. "Hey, BK, do you remember the very first time we started communicating?"
"Hmm. I remember," BK nodded. "You were trying to meditate and clear your mind, which at the time is quite an understandable difficulty. You were one of two individuals in the TSOF who volunteered to be implanted with the Kingstones, whereas I ended up becoming a part of you, and so did your brother."
What BK was talking about wasn't his literal flesh and blood brother, and yet, the latter may as well be. They had both seen and experienced too much in many lifetimes. They remained silent for a while before BK decided to talk again.
"You're still thinking of them, aren't you?" BK said.
It was not a question. It was a fact.
Shidou smiled sadly. "Ah." He looked at the horizon with a sense of hope. "Even after everything, I still missed them."
He was thinking about young but powerful women that he had grown close to. They were called the Spirits, most of whom were originally humans, who had gained great power, and depending on the woman carrying that power, could prove to potentially create havoc and destruction, branding them unfortunately as threats to humanity that needed to be eliminated. Fortunately, there was another way. It was through the simple concept of dating and courtship, before sealing the women with a kiss.
He was so very young at that time. He did not know what he was destined to become. He did not know what awaited him in the dark and terrible future. A War Without End.
"Shidou."
"Papa."
He closed his eyes while he recalled echoing voices. The first belonged to a young woman with short, light pink hair, with part of her hair tied up in a braid, and light brown eyes. It was his wife. The second belonged to a young girl with long plum hair that reached to her legs. Her hair is tied with one single braid and has a bow at the top of her head and her eyes have a deep color. It was his daughter.
He did miss them. And he continues to miss them. That was why he would walk forward towards the distant future, without any regrets.
"Speaking of family," BK noted. "There is one in particular that awaits you back in your bedroom."
Shidou's smile turns to one of silent affection while looking at the horizon, remembering a black-haired woman who was waiting for him. His current wife. "Ah, and I can't wait to wake up."
...He woke up from his bed, somewhere in a darkened bedroom, with white curtains covering the windows. He slowly opened his eyes. Back to his younger teenage body of a high school student, one that had straight dark blue hair with grey sides and brown eyes, without the stubble grey beard this time.
Currently, he was covered in a grey blanket. His back lay on a comfortable large mattress that could fit two or more people, with white bedsheets. Grey pillows were located upward, and one of them was providing comfort to his head. However, what comforted and brought peace to him the most was someone whose arms were spread out and embraced him. And a soft and cheeky face would lay near his head.
His current wife. The woman he loved, The woman who taught him to find love again.
Her name was Sona Sitri. Her closed eyes covered her familiar violet irises that continued to fascinate him. Her black hair was long reaching the middle of her back. Her glasses were somewhere near the clock on the table seen on his left. Her skin was smooth and white. Her soft, perky, and modest breasts were laying on his muscular tone chest. As of now, both of them were naked, and yet, Shidou felt no shame, and neither would Sona. They were husband and wife after all. Both of them were covered by the blanket, and yet, it was their embrace that seemed to bring the most warmth. He could see her content and happy smile even as she slumbered and breathed heavily.
Their clothes were scattered on the floor, indicating the heated but passionate and pleasurable intensity that they had performed upon each other. It was something of a habit that he and his wife would do whenever they had the proper free time on their hands.
He smiled. His left hand would slowly lift itself and would slowly trace the soft, arching, perfect shape of his wife's back. Then it reached her bottom and gently squeezed one of its cheeks as a way of teasing her, and then, squeezed the other cheek.
"...Hmm," his wife hummed a little in pleasure even in her sleep. "...My king."
"...What is it, my princess?" Shidou softly asked with an affectionate smile, letting his hand go and placing it on his wife's back.
"...I know that you're eager for yet another round, but can I enjoy my beauty sleep for the time being? I still feel a little sore at the moment," Sona spoke as she opened one of her eyes a little, revealing a glowing luminous violet.
"Hmmm," Shidou smiled and laughed a little. "Of course, anything for my princess."
He said that while kissing her forehead. Sona however gave a scrunched eyebrow expression.
"My king, not there, minus ten points," she said with a trying-to-be-strict tone but failing because of the inkling of humor.
He would rectify that by raising his right hand and gently touching her chin, lifting it up a little to his face, and...
"...Hmm."
He kissed her. But she kissed back. Their tongues would unseal and run wild. Her eager hands were tracing his chest before one of her hands landed on his cheek. Her lips, her mouth, and her tongue tasted like bittersweet lemon, making him passionate as he moved forward. His hand, placed on her back, made the woman draw ever so near. They continued to be playful, with their eyes closed, and their tongues following their instincts as the fluids sparked through their senses like lightning. Sona couldn't get help but move a little forward as her breasts squeezed into her man's torso.
The soft lips, the desire to become one again, and yet, Shidou needed to control himself, since he did promise his princess that he would let the latter get some proper rest. He would have plenty of time in the world to give it another go, something that became a guilty pleasure of his, but for now, his princess needed to rest.
And so, he ended the kiss with a light smooch, removing his mouth from hers, the latter gasping as her eyes showed a hidden instinctual desire, one that glowed a little in the dark, her mouth panting and her tongue a little loose, and reddened cheeks.
"Ah, ah, ah," Shidou would waggle his index finger and tease a little. "You said that you wanted to rest, my princess, and I'm honoring that deal. Besides, it's my turn to make breakfast for everybody else in this house."
"...Breakfast?" Sona, breathing heavily and trying to regain control of herself, would turn around a little to check the alarm clock. It noted '4:30'. She looked at him with incredulity and a little pouting. "A little early, don't you think?"
"Well," Shidou shrugged a little. "Since I'm awake anyway, I thought I'd do something to pass the time."
"Quite the food enthusiast, my husband is," Sona sighed a little, with a subtle sign of pouting and disappointment. Despite wanting to sleep, the passionate kiss that her husband had initiated with her would make her devilish instincts say otherwise and make her itch underneath a little.
Shidou would quickly kiss her softly on the lips before saying. "That's why you married me after all."
As he lifts himself from the bed to get all of his clothing from the floor and wear them, Sona would speak in turn with a raised eyebrow.
"And what is that supposed to mean, I wonder?"
"That... your husband is the better cook?" Shidou spoke with light teasing while wearing some of his clothes.
"Ha ha," Sona spoke with light sarcasm, rolling her eyes out. "Spare me my grueling memories of not being good in the kitchen when I was very young, for that was long before I even met you. I'll have you know that I have enough pride to admit that I had done a bit better compared to before. Cooking skills did become a necessity during the War when I had to learn how to feed myself in order to survive and also being part of my duty as a field medic."
"I know, I know. Well, before I head off to the kitchen, I'll try to cool off in the shower. Need to keep myself in proper hygiene before cooking after all."
He said while drawing near to his wife, who would lift her face a little and they would kiss once more, affectionately and passionately, with her arms embracing his neck. Then they ended the kiss, with a smooching effect. He would begin to head out by opening the door. Before he opens the door, he glances at a half-naked Sona, whose breasts are no longer covered by the blanket, and whose smile is something that melts and radiates his heart.
"I love you, Takamiya-san," he said with a smile, making use of his current surname.
"I love you too, Takamiya-kun," she said with a smile, making use of her current surname.
Then Shidou would close the door and give a heavy sigh, putting both of his hands on his cheeks.
"Well then, time to start a brand new day."
It was a brand new day. In the last two hours before 6:00, Shidou would take a quick but effective shower. Then he would wear a brand-new set of clothes and head downstairs.
"Meow."
Before he would cook in the larger-than-life kitchen, he would start by feeding the house cat early. His name was Koenig, a Persian grey-white cat with black spots and markings that Shidou found and bought a few years ago. He waggles his tail as he drives his mouth toward his feeding bowl, which had the name 'Koenig' on the side. Then, wearing his dark green apron, he started making food.
While doing so, he started reminiscing about how it all started for him. He learned how to make food little by little back when he was much, much younger compared to now. That was a time when he was more innocent and naïve about the dangers and heartbreaks of the future. His parents, or his foster parents to be more accurate, were working for an electronic company called Asgard Electronics.
In the original timeline he came from, it was the company that supported the secret organization, Ratatoskr, an organization that was dedicated to the sealing and protection of Spirits, and the organization that he once worked for, and inevitably got dragged kicking and screaming by his little foster sister, who was a Commander of Ratatsokr's most finest ship, the Fraxinus.
At those times, it was always Shidou's responsibility to prepare food, so he was already used to it. In fact, back then, he was confident that he could use the cooking tools better than his adoptive mother. Since then, he has improved tremendously in his cooking skills.
As he was fetching some eggs from the fridge, he heard the sound of the large hovering screen that broadcasted the news. Shidou had turned that on before cooking as a way to pass the time. It was also a habit of his to look into the news and know just what the news media or the world was currently thinking and reacting.
"In other news, while the meeting in the White House was taking place between the President and some of the leaders of the Three Factions, Governor General Azazel had given a speech that was still being talked about with renewed undertaking."
"Hmm?"
Shidou glanced a little at the screen as he made the food. From the screen, he saw a tall man who resembled somewhere in his late thirties, with black hair and grey lines on the side, with a grey goatee with greyish features. He wore a knee-length black blazer with a white dress shirt, a black waistcoat, and a black tie. His socks were of faded pitch-black slacks and black dress shoes. It was his yellow eyes that were serious and grim.
"We must all strive for peace, even if it feels harder to achieve. Peace is not an option, it is a duty, not just for the sake of the past generation, but also of future generations that would come after. For a thousand years, we and the rest of the Leaders have been embittered enemies locked in a Cold War that would threaten the annihilate everything we knew, but now, we must try to set aside our differences. Make no mistake, this is not about changing the world. Plenty of people tend to think of that when they think of peace. It's not about changing the world, it is about doing our best to leave the world the way it is, the way that it is supposed to be, and one wonders... ...if there is even a world left to walk upon. This has nothing to do with change, it's about respecting the will of others... ...and believing in your own."
"..."
Shidou would remain silent while listening to Azazel's speech and cooking the delicate dishes.
He contemplated his situation again. This was his current reality. His current world. And his world had ultimately changed, for better or for worse. This was the same world he was born in, just changed entirely, with a brand new history, new elements, and then some, where his and some other worlds had all converged to form this one reality, this convergence universe, whose current interdimensional coordinates are classified as: RX Universe-789. Some in the know such as Shidou and Azazel would simply call it the New World (NW), in reference to the older ones that came before.
One thing that Shidou thought about was that there was no such thing as a space earthquake, or spacequake, in this current timeline. In the old timeline, there used to be such a thing, a generic term that referred to a set of explosions, quakes, vanishings, and such things that happen for unknown reasons (at least until he found out what was actually causing it) at random times and places, all in all, extremely unreasonable phenomena.
The first occurrence of such an event would probably be somewhere around thirty or so years ago. It happened right smack in the middle of Eurasia - the region that had contained countries such as the Soviet Union (which in the new timeline had been dissolved and replaced with the current Russian Federation), China, and Mongolia, causing them to have disappeared in a single night.
For those who had lived through that time up to Shidou's generation, just looking at the aftermath was altogether unpleasant, even more so when he was informed of what had been causing it. The Spirits. However, that was not the whole picture of this story.
The very first spacequake, termed as the Eurasian Sky Disaster, was none other than the direct work of a madman called Sir Isaac Ray Pelham Westcott, the man who would eventually be the cause of Shidou's many sufferings, as well as the sufferings of the people that he cared for. Eventually, that man died for good when his mother - the First Spirit gave her own life to save him.
...Well, unfortunately, that man is still alive and is somewhere out there.
Though, he's currently suffering a fate worse than death. Shidou had no sympathies with that man, so he wouldn't care any less what happens to him, just so long as he was no longer a threat to him and his entire family.
"You okay there, son?"
Shidou would turn around to find someone who looked like a much older version of himself. He had grey hair, brown eyes, with a stubble grey beard. He was wearing a dark blue jacket and blue jeans, leaning on the wall, with arms crossed.
This was Shinji Takamiya. He was... ...well, both his father and his previous life, technically. It's a long complicated story as to how he is even here. The simple version was that sometime immediately after his death, he suddenly found himself being transported into an entirely different world, in an entirely different era, with a new body, without any of the wounds or even a scar that indicated the way he died.
This was one of the after-effects of what came to be known as the Black and White Convergence. When a few worlds conjoined together, something happened. Some people who were supposed to be dead, had been resurrected. They were part of a category that was termed as Inconsistencies, When it came to reworking the timeline through bits and pieces of a few differing histories, there is bound to be some of them.
As for his father, he spent the next thirty years or so living in this world, a world that he could barely even recognize. At some point between these periods, somewhere a little later, Shidou had reunited with him and had a very long talk with him about what had taken place.
They talked about Shidou Itsuka's past, his brushes against the Spirits and his journey to seal them, and up to the eventual sacrifice of the woman that they both cared for. Then at some point, there came a specific conflict that shook the boundaries of Creation. Many names described such a conflict. The Cosmic War. The Background War. The Unrepeatable War. The War Between Life and Death. The Multiverse War. The Last Great Time War.
And in that war, he - Shidou Itsuka - was one of many soldiers who had fought in nightmarish dimensions and landscapes, worlds that were blackened to dust and ashes, worlds that held unspeakable horrors that would, even now, still plague him.
Shidou cracked a little smile, looking at his old man. "A-Ah, just listening to the news, that's all."
Shinji raised an eyebrow, looking a little dubious, but would eventually relent and let it slide, for now. He smiled as he began to walk towards Shidou. "Well, what's that I'm smelling in the morning."
"Tamago Kake Gohan (Japanese-Style Egg Rice)," Shidou answered with a smile while looking at his frying pan. "I thought that I'd start the day with something simple."
"Ah, the simplicity of life, never gets better for the pair of us Takamiyas than enjoying a simple breakfast," Shinji smiled, speaking with a tone of humor. "Would you mind if your old man helps you out?"
"Ah, if you can keep up that is," Shidou joked.
"Oh, is that a challenge?" Shinji made a smirk.
Her name is Sona Sitri. Or, well, Sona Itsuka, or Sona Takamiya, whichever you would prefer, their marriage is supposed to still be a secret anyway, so most people still knew her as Sona Sitri. And they've been married ever since, she supposed, during their second year of high school, and they had a very long honeymoon period after that in a certain blue police box.
Next month would be the time when she and her husband would enter their third year of high school. Wearing her black glasses and a set of casual clothing which consisted of a simple white shirt, covered by a red sweater, and a pair of blue jeans. She was currently in the Takamiya's Private Office room, the room where she and her husband would use it for a variety of purposes. Books were seen on shelves placed around the corners, invoking a school library kind of feel. A wooden desk that had a photo of her and her husband was seen on the side of the table.
She would begin to make a casual gesture, and a blue luminous magic circle would be conjured up that bore the insignia of her bloodline - Sitri.
"Tsubaki, this is Sona," she spoke with a professional tone. "Where are you right now?"
"I'm currently doing some advanced studying in my room in preparation for the next school year, kaichou, why?"
Tsubaki Shinra, her right-hand woman, her Queen, and the vice president of the prestigious Kuoh Academy, would speak from the magic circle. She was a bespectacled woman with long straight black hair that extended down to her knees, with split bangs and heterochromatic eyes, with a violet left eye and a light brown right eye.
"You would not mind if you were to handle managing and training the peerage for the time being, since I would prefer to spend the free week with my husband,' Sona said.
"I would not mind, kaichou, not at all," Tsubaki spoke professionally before the tone tried to be a little teasing a bit. "With respect, kaichou, I would have to assume that you were enjoying yourself last night."
Sona raised an unimpressed eyebrow, though as she looked back to that special night, she could not help but smile a little, dreamily, but she covered it with a professional tone. "I suppose. Though enough about me, how is your situation with Kiba-kun?"
"Oh-Umm, well..." Tsubaki suddenly became silent and was blushing from the other side of the call. "...We have been making some progress. Kiba-kun was, umm, quite sweet on our last date."
Sona made a pleased smile. "Oh please, tell me more, if it does not bother you."
And Sona would eventually listen to her right-hand woman's explanation of the last date that she had been through with someone by the name of Yuuto Kiba, a member of her best friend and rival's, Rias Gremory's, peerage. Sona, with her knowledge of her old world, would at least be glad that things were working more smoothly and a bit faster this around. She had to put in a lot of effort, with a little help from her husband and some people, for the two to actually be together officially. It was no easy task, even for someone who was the student council president of a prestigious international school such as Kuoh Academy, the place where it was once a private school for girls a few years prior, a blend of various educational systems and cultures.
Sona Sitri would be in the same general boat as her husband. She once came from an old world, and a timeline that is distinct from her husband's. It was a world where most of humanity was completely unaware of the supernatural, unlike the current one. That world was also dealing with a Cold War between Three Factions which consisted of the Angels, the Devils, and the Fallen Angels. There were common elements that she shared in this new world with her old one, such as being the heiress and successor of the Great Devil House of Sitri, the student council president of the prestigious Kuoh Academy, and having the same peerage, with Tsubaki, her right-hand woman, as her Queen. She even shares the same general relationship of close friendship and rivalry with Rias Gremory, the heiress and successor of the Great Devil House of Gremory.
However, there were a couple of odd differences, such as organizations like the Mage's Association, the Lion King Organization, and others that existed in this reality, when her old world never had such organizations.
"...And umm, he said goodbye to me after he escorted me home," Tsubaki said.
"So nothing happened, yes?" Sona, despite speaking with a professional tone, had the desire to tease her right-hand woman, maybe as a form of payback for earlier.
"N-No, nothing...happened," Tsubaki spoke with a hesitant tone.
"Well, I suppose that is that. If you do not mind, Tsubaki, I'm going to have to end this call, my husband is probably waiting for me downstairs and had probably cooked breakfast at this point," Sona said.
"H-Hmm, of course, kaichou, I understand," Tsubaki nodded.
"Thank you," Sona said while cutting off the call with the snap of her finger, dissolving the circle.
Sona sighed before eventually standing up from her seat and heading downstairs. She would head to the dining room and would be greeted by a cheerful, familiar tone.
"Oh, Sona-chan, good morning!"
"Ah, Sona-onee-sama, good morning!"
The one who called out to her was Mana Takamiya, a young woman with blue hair, tied up in a ponytail, with some bangs left out. She has brown eyes and a mole under her left eye. When one looks at her closely, she resembles her husband. She was seated on the chair, alongside her husband, her husband's father, and two other people. The one that was beside Mana was Jacob Wescott, a young man with a handsome face, with black hair with white edges, and sharp blue eyes, wearing a black and white blazer jacket that had the words 'RX', and blue pants.
The other one who had called for her was Millicas Gremory, a young boy at the age of ten with short crimson hair and red eyes, wearing a white and black aristocratic attire, and sporting a cheerful smile.
Sona would take note of the food that was on the table. There was a whole lot of food that was present on the silver table. Tamago Kake Gohan, Tamagoyaki Japanese Omelette, Japanese Vegetable Pancake, and many other variety of delicacies. She would look at the father-son pair with amusement.
"If I didn't know any better, I would say that there would be a special occasion."
Both father and son would look at each other with amused smiles and make a common shrug on the shoulders.
"Eh, we were just bonding and overdid the cooking competition a little," Shinji smiled.
"Like father, like son, I'd say," Jacob spoke in a jovial tone while enjoying his food.
Sona would eventually sit next to Shidou and place both of her hands together.
"Itadakimasu."
And she, looking at her husband with a smile, and Shidou looking at Sona back with a smile, would eventually start eating along with the rest of the family.
