As soon as the demigods knew that Hera had settles for the night, they escaped from their rooms and made their way down to the arena.
The other gods, knowing what fight was finally about to happen, also made their way to the arena.
Everyone settles into the stands as the big three children got ready to fight. Putting on armor, stretching and warming up.
"This doesn't seem like a fair fight." Aphrodite says, observing the group. It was Nico and Hazel, Thalia and Jason, and then Percy. "Percy is alone."
Annabeth snorted from where she was sitting a few spots over. "If anything, its unfair for the other four."
"Is Percy truly that powerful?" Hephaestus asks curiously.
"He accidentally blew up a volcano because he didn't know his own strength." Clarisse tells him. "So yes, he is."
The gods looked at her in shock.
"He what?" Apollo asks.
"Blew up a volcano." Clarisse says again. "We all thought he was dead. He was gone for weeks."
"Yeah, the third summer he was at camp." Connor adds.
"Let me tell you, we were so glad when he showed up one day." Travis joins. "The next summer would have gone very differently without him."
"What happened the next summer?" Poseidon asks, joining the group.
The demigods look to each other.
"Do we tell them or wait for it to come up?" Annabeth says.
The rest shrug.
"Might as well they're going to know in a few chapters anyway." Clarisse decides.
"The war." Katie states bluntly. "The war happens."
The gods look to each other nervously. What in the world is happening in the future?
"Here they come!" Hermes announces from a few feet away, not having heard their conversation.
Down in the arena Thalia, Jason, Hazel, Nico, and Percy walk out. Their weapons are in hand, armor secured, and ready to fight.
"Alright demigods!" Athena announces. "This is the fight between the big three kids! Powers are allowed and encouraged! Anything goes! Just don't kill each other. Apollo and |Will," She motions to the two who are on the sidelines of the arena, "are on standby for any injuries! Into positions!"
The demigods split by godly parent into a large triangle. They all look at each other grinning.
"Scared Percy?" Thalia taunts. "You're all alone over there."
"Not one bit Thals." He shoots back, swinging riptide in a circle at his side. "Jason, You?"
"Of you? Never." Jason laughs. "Nico, Hazel?"
"Bring it." Nico tells them, Hazel nodding at his side.
"On the count of three!" Athena starts.
Shadows are gathering around Nico and Hazel, the ground shifting beneath their feet.
"One!"
Water is gathering at Percy's feet, swirling and bubbling slightly as if fighting being held back.
"Two!"
Jason and Thalia's skin spark in preparation, electricity filling the air around them.
"Three!"
Everyone watched amazed as three different powers exploded from the demigods in front of them.
Percy was enveloped in a hurricane quickly making is way towards the center of the arena. Nico shadow traveled to the opposite side while Hazel started manipulating the ground beneath everyone's feet. Jason shot up into the air for a better view of everyone and Thalia was crackling with lightning turning the air around her into ozone.
"Why is he going into the center?" Hermes asks, watching in amazement.
"It puts him in the middle of everything which actually helps." Annabeth starts explaining. "And it doesn't back him into a corner where he wouldn't be able to get out."
"But he's surrounded." Aphrodite points out. And she was right. Jason was in the air, Nico to Percy's left with Hazel to the right. Thalia was right in front of him.
"Hasn't stopped him before." Clarisse says. "I've seen him get out of worse."
"Your son is crazy." Hades tells Poseidon as he joins the group.
They watch as Thalia calls down lightning into the center of Percy's hurricane only for Percy to launch the electrified water straight towards where Nico popped out of a shadow.
Nico cursed as he rolled to the side and dodged the attack. He pulled up his sword and ran forwards, Hazel moving the ground beneath his feet to get him higher.
Percy started flooding the arena and then closed his eyes to concentrate.
Everyone leaned forward watching. What was he doing?
Clarisse laughed.
"What's so funny?" Ares asks. "Having his eyes closed is an idiot move."
Clarisse just shakes her head. "We were practicing this before he got kidnapped. He's using the water to sense who's on the ground, where they're at. The Ares cabin had fun kicking his ass as he figured this one out."
"I remember this." Katie says. "Eventually he was fighting you all with his eyes literally closed."
Clarisse just nods. "They're not winning this one. Jason is the only unknown here now."
Poseidon just leans back, looking proudly down at his son.
"You have a powerful son brother." Hades says, watching as Percy took down Hazel with a shot of water.
Hazel gasped as a powerful stream of water hit her in the chest, knocking her on her back. She wheezed as she landed hard, the breath knocked out of her. She had been so concentrated on the ground that she had lost focus. She heard Nico curse as he fell from where the rock had been holding him up.
She pulled herself up only to come face to face with Thalia and her arrows.
Hazel groaned and raised her hands, still trying to catch her breath.
"Next time." Thalia says smiling kindly.
"Next time." Hazel nods, backing to the edge of the arena, Will coming over to make sure she was okay.
"One down." Hephaestus says. "Four remaining."
"Jason will probably go next." Annabeth admits. "He's still not totally comfortable with a Greek style of fighting."
"You might be surprised." Piper says from a few seats over. "He was catching up pretty good before we came here."
"I wonder what two it will come down to." Artemis says from beside Piper.
Down in the arena Percy smirks as he felt Nico hit the ground. It was only a matter of time before Jason had to land. What Jason didn't know though was that Percy could feel the water in the air as well, and knew exactly where he was.
As he was deciding on who to take down next he gasped as he felt a hand grab his ankle. He opened his eyes and looked down only to see the face of a skeleton. He kicked his foot, breaking the skeleton's hold and moved away.
Nico was smirking at him from across the arena, skeletons rising behind him like and army of the undead.
The observers in the stands watched with mouths dropped open.
"These kids are powerful." Athena says.
"Incredibly so." Hermes agrees.
"Fighting dirty Nico!" Thalia yells across the arena.
"Anything goes!" Nico shouts back, ordering the skeletons to split up between Percy and Thalia.
Jason was still in the air observing, gauging how the others were fighting. He watched as the skeletons went for his sister and called down lightning to destroy them before they attackd.
Nico's head shot up and looked at him. Jason waved and smiled, bringing down another bolt towards the boy, throwing him into the arena wall. Jason winced, not having meant to hit him that hard.
Nico groaned loudly as he hit the arena wall. He had forgotten about Jason being in the air. Stupid move on his part. He had to admit though that Jason was smart for playing it safe and observing. He looked up as Apollo ran over to him.
Nico waved his hand, clenching his teeth. "I'm fine, I'm fine." He was lying. His head was pounding, and his stomach rolled.
"Kid your ribs are broken and I'm pretty sure you have a concussion." Apollo tells him giving him a look.
Nico tried to protest but his head was swimming and his stomach lurched dangerously. He leaned to the side and threw up on the ground.
"Yup, you're out. Lets go." Apollo says helping him up and out of the arena.
Up in the stands, Zeus put a hand on Hades' shoulder. "Tough luck brother."
Hades grumbled. "I never win."
"Quit pouting." Poseidon laughs.
Hades mockingly imitated him behind Poseidon's back, making the demigods who saw him laugh.
"Just us now Kelp head!" Thalia yells. "Zeus versus Poseidon!"
"Just like capture the flag!" Percy yells back, thinking back to when the hunt had visited camp that one year.
"Chiron can't stop us now!"
Jason finally landed on the ground, to Percy's left. Thalia was to his right.
"Bring it Grace." Percy taunts, talking to the both of them.
In a second the two Zeus kids ran forward, blades and lightning at the ready. Percy raised riptide meeting them strike for strike. Electricity and water filling the air around them. They were all landing hits on each other, steadily collecting a series of cuts and bruises.
Thalia concentrated on her hands, pushing the lightning towards he palms. When she felt enough had gathered she pushed into the hurricane and threw Percy across the arena.
"Damn." Poseidon whistles. "She's got some power in her."
"Yes, she does." Artemis nods. "She'd make a great huntress."
"She'll be glad to hear that." Annabeth smiles.
They watch tensely as Percy clambers to his feet, shirt smoking slightly from the hit.
"How is he still standing?" Aphrodite says.
"He and Thalia fight a lot which might be a detriment to this. They know how each other fight." Clarisse explains. "And they like to fight dirty."
"Gotta do better than that!" Percy taunts.
Jason rose into the air again, intent on making arial strikes to take Percy down. Percy just looked up at him and smirked.
Everyone watched amazed as Percy gathered water around himself and formed it into a warrior.
"He must have learned that from Carter." Annabeth mutters to herself, shaking her head.
"Carter?" Leo asks curiously.
Annabeth looks at the group, who were all curious. "Just another demigod we met a few years back. He had some fancy tricks up his sleeve."
Percy was in the center of the large water warrior and waved at Jason. The warrior doing the same.
"He's straight up water bending." Frank says in awe. "That's crazy."
Poseidon watches on in interest. His son was immensely powerful and had been learning new tricks it seems.
"We are so lucky that Percy is on our side." Connor says, watching Percy.
"We would all be dead if he wasn't." Travis nods next to him.
"There wouldn't even have been a battle." Clarisse chuckles darkly.
The gods look to each other. This demigod seems to be the epicenter of something huge.
"Oh my gods." Jason says to himself as he finds himself face to face with Percy's water warrior. He launches himself backwards but not fast enough.
The water warrior throws out a hand and whacks Jason out of the air and towards the ground. Jason curses as he hurtles through the air and tries to right himself. He tries to slow his fall, but he hits the ground hard. He cries out as he feels his arm and collarbone snap as he lands. As his vision fades he reflexively throws out lightning in a last ditch to protect himself.
"Jason!" Thalia screams but something else drowns her out.
Everyone stands up as lightning hits the water warrior. Percy's mouth is open wide in a scream that they can't hear. His body tense as the electricity travels through the water and hits him. The warrior collapses and Percy falls to the ground, unconscious, muscles twitching.
"Percy!" Annabeth screams.
"Oh gods." Katie says her hand over her mouth.
Poseidon was already rushing down towards the arena.
Will was cursing as he and his father sprinted into the arena to Percy's side. They quickly knelt at Percy's, Will's hand going to Percy's neck checking his pulse.
"It's irregular." Will tells his father, who nods.
Apollo's hands are glowing as he checks Percy's body for other injuries. "He's badly burned. Breathing is stuttering. Pulse rapid and irregular."
Will starts to take Percy's shirt off and grimaces as he sees the red and black skin beneath. "Jason's going to feel so guiltily after this." He looks over his shoulder to see Artemis tending to an unconscious Jason, Thalia at her side.
"Jason is out as well." He tells his father. "Looks like we have patients tonight."
Apollo mutters a prayer and lays his hands on Percy's chest. Percy is enveloped in a golden glow and raises off the ground an inch or two.
"Alright let's move him." Apollo says. "The spell is keeping his back from touching anything, so he doesn't get infected. But he needs to be in a clean room."
Together they gently move Percy onto a stretcher that someone had brought them and make their way towards the infirmary. Behind them Artemis had done the same for a still unconscious Jason.
Nico and Hazel jump up as they enter the infirmary.
"What happened!?" Nico yells as they place the two demigods on beds.
"Accident." Thalia says tightly, looking at her brother and friend.
The demigods led Nico and Hazel back to their beds and told them what happened as they watched the three healers work on their friends.
Poseidon walks over to Apollo. "The saltwater will help him." He says quietly, summoning a vial.
Apollo nods and steps back. Poseidon waves a hand and the saltwater leaves the vial, slowly expanding. He moves it to Percy's chest where it slowly spreads to cover his son's body. He and Apollo watch tensely as the burns start to heal. Apollo's hands glow again as he hovers them over Percy.
"It's helping." He says. "Slowly, but it's helping. He'll be almost completely healed by morning."
There's a groan from the bed next to them as Jason rouses.
"Don't move your arm." Thalia orders, adrenaline still rushing through her veins.
"Thalia?" Jason asks, squinting. "Wh' hap'nd?"
"Percy knocked you out of the air and you fried him." Thalia tells him.
"What?" Jason yells, sitting up, only to fall back down in pain.
"He'll be okay, it was an accident." Thalia assures him. "You broke your arm in three places and your collar bone." She takes the ambrosia from Artemis and hands it to her brother. "You need to eat this. We already set your bones while you were out."
Jason groans again and takes the ambrosia and eats it. Immediately he felt his bones healing and sighed as the pain left as they healed.
"We won?" He asked.
Thalia sighed, shaking her head fondly. "Technically yes, we won. Percy's gonna be so mad when he wakes up."
"Maybe he won't try the water warrior when fighting people who control lightning again." Ananbeth says as she walks over.
"Wasn't the smartest move." Thalia agrees. "But it was still pretty badass."
Annabeth laughs. "It was wasn't it."
Apollo clapped his hand from where he was checking on Nico and Hazel.
"Everyone back to bed. We've had an eventful night and I have patients to take care of. Out!"
Everyone filed out of the infirmary, yawning as their tiredness caught up with them. Annabeth motioned to Will.
"You come get me when he wakes up?" She says.
"I promise." Will tells her. "Any changes and I come get you."
Annabeth nodded and followed the girls to their room, shooting Percy a look over her shoulder.
The gods looked at the kids on their beds in the infirmary.
"This was why we made the pact." Hades says. "They're too powerful."
"There is nothing to do about it now." Poseidon tells him.
"Train them." Athena says as she walks past towards her own room. "You're so worried about them? Train them to control their powers."
They gaped as she turned a corner.
"She's right you know." Apollo says. "They're incredibly powerful and that power must work its way out somehow. If they don't do it safely, they're going to hurt themselves and those around them."
Poseidon, Hades, and Zeus looked to each other. Why had they never thought of that before? They looked back to their kids.
"We'll make something work."
