Chapter 78
Docking bay shenanigans
If Tatooine was a brown blob and Kashyyk a green one, Manaan was a big blue one. The planet was larger than Kashyyk and the fourth in rotation around its primary star. On approach they could not see any weather disturbances in the stratosphere. Carth tinted the windows to the viewport as not to get blinded by the reflection coming from the water below
Carth looked over his shoulder as the door to the cockpit hissed open.
"We are on approach, go sit down." He ordered
Jolee ignored the order
"By order of Master Vrook you are to contact the Republic embassy immediately after landing." Jolee informed the flight crew
"Funny that I don't know of this being mission commander after all." Bastila commented
"That position is under review by the council." Jolee told her
"And what you are in charge?" Terri mocked
"Since it won't kill him, can we throw him out the airlock now?" Melissa called from the nose turret."
"It is the punishment for mutiny after all." Terri added
"It is not mutiny till he lifts a weapon at us, unfortunately. Till then it is merely insubordination " Carth said regretfully
Terri spun in her chair and faced Jolee
"Time to lay our cards on the table then. Once we land you can contact your master and tell him we are through taking orders from him. We will complete this mission we have been pressed ganged into, but once it is done, we are gone. So make sure they are close to pick you up, because we will leave you wherever that is the moment we are done."
"All of this belongs to the Jedi." Jolee said waving his hand around
"The ship belongs to the Republic not the Council. Technically it belongs to Republic intelligence and I do not see them making a fuss if the ship disappears. Even then it is just a ship and can be replaced." Carth informed him
"You are labouring under the illusion we are at the mercy of the council for resources and will fall in line at the first stern words from a master. Sorry to say the reality is they need us more than we need them." Terri added
"So go sit down and buckle in, you can plan your declamation to Vrook about how we are showing our true colours and have gone fully to the dark." Bastila waved him off
The door closed behind him as Jolee stalked off. Bastila gave a small sigh and smiled
"That felt good. I have been wanting to put him in place for a while now" She admitted
"It was refreshing I agree, but you do know we are all officially to be classified as rogue operatives." Carth said
"Bastila went rogue the moment she knocked Vrook onto his ass." Terri pointed out
"I was from the moment I was discharged from the fleet and kicked out of the Jedi." Melissa said, her head popping into view
"And since I was apparently never conscripted I was rogue the moment I stepped on deck of the Endar Spire if not before." Terri shrugged
"Leaving Carth as the only one with ties to the Republic." Bastila said
"You forget I already resigned my commission, this is my last mission." Carth reminded them
Melissa grinned suddenly
"So shall we see if we can drain that Republic credit account before we get cut off." She suggested
"No, no shopping sprees, we are already carrying too much equipment as it is." Carth said
"Clothes are not equipment." Bastila said haughtily
"And if asked before they cut us of we can say we suspect the Sith added trackers to our clothing. You really do not want us wearing underwear with tracking chips in them, do you?" Melissa gave Carth an innocent look
"That is why I am not wearing any. I am afraid of being tracked." Terri said
"I really did not need to hear that." Carth complained
"We can always change the subject and ask who slipped from your room before we left the Resolution." Teri suggested
"Carth, have you been cheating on my aunts?" Melissa demanded smirking
"None of your business, Miss I could not score with a drunk date." Carth replied with a smirk of his own
" Seriously, does everyone know?" Melissa complained
"No, Mision does not know yet." Terri said
"I told her." Bastila confessed
"I am actually amazed she has not said anything." Carth commented
"As am I. By now we should have heard multiple jokes and comments." Bastila admitted
"She won't say a thing." Melissa said with certainty
"Why would that be?" Terri asked
"Let us just say Juhani was not the only one to have made spicy holocom calls, only Juhani did have the forethought to disable the recorder on our end." Melissa said
" Damn it, can we change the subject." Carth complained
"I kind of want to hear more or see the recording." Bastila said
"The moment she annoys me enough, I will play it in the lounge." Melissa promised
"So five minutes after we land then." Terri said sagely
The Hawke slowed down and approached their docking bay at barely repulsor speed and per instructions reversed into the docking bay. There was light thump as the Hawke touched down on the deck. There was the usual vapour and popping sound as the loading ramp was lowered. An automated message was send to the ship from the docking authority to shut down and wait till customs cleared them.
"Now we wait." Carth said
Mission barged past carrying a deck carrying a towel and wearing a barely there swimsuit, Juhani following behind her carrying a container and her own towel
"Time to get some sun." She announced going past
"Not a bad idea. We have been rather shut in while jumping around planets." Bastila said
"Come on then." Terri said
Carth looked at Melissa as the other two went back to the room to change
"Not going to join?" He asked
"Redhead, remember. I learned that lesson very well on Dantooine. Could I interest you in a spar by any chance?" She replied
"Ask Canderous and Zaalbar. I am going to get some sun myself and relax for a bit once everything is shut down. Anyway somebody besides Jolee should be available once customs show up." Carth said
"You are just afraid to get beaten by a girl." Melissa said accusingly
"Tell you what, you beat those two and I will take you on. If you really want something to do set up a grill. Some freshly made food will do everyone some good."
Several hours later the door to the interior finally opened and a group of Selkath entered the docking bay. The lead custom agent looking forward to dealing with the by now highly irritated foreigners, as far as she was concerned the only times foreigners should be present was when their ships were loaded and they were going. Ahto City should be for Selkath only.
She came to a stop as she saw the scene before her. A grill was smoking away close to the boarding ramp. Two beings seated close to it. Two Armoured figures were going slowly through a series of fighting stances. She wanted to screech as she spotted four females lying on the deck in scandalous attire, do these foreigners have no shame?
A human male stood up from his chair and approached the group, a datapad in hand.
"Commander Onasi, captain of the Ebon Hawke. Our registration documents." He said handing the pad over.
The agent noted that the ship had been given ambassadorial status by the Republic. She waved her followers away, today they would not be expelling foreign filth as they failed a customs inspection. She warbled to the male
"You have twenty hours to pay docking fee, diplomatic ship or not." She said
She was distracted by the sound of metal on metal. The armoured figures were now moving a lot faster. The sound of the metal came as the figures blocked kicks and blows before returning them
"Where do we pay for docking?" The male spoke
"You pay by terminal to Ahto City, twenty hours or you leave."
The agent spun around and left the area. Carth shrugged and turned around and went back to his chair by the grill. In his absence Zaalbar had flipped the meat over, quickly he counted the meat on the grill and found the same number as when he had left. The two combatants finished their spar and sat down on the boarding ramp. After removing their helmets they each took a drink from the cooler by the chairs
"I don't know if I am imagining things but that customs officer was ruder than any I have come across." Carth commented
"I have read in a tourist brochure that Selkath can be xenophobic." Melissa said
"You would have thought that they would have someone polite doing fist contact, since they only have one real exportable product." Canderous replied
"They think they can be rude because they have the one product all worlds want. They probably don't realise once something replaces that they are worthless to the rest of the galaxy." Carth responded
A second ship came in on approach, this time the door to the dock burst open and a mismatched group of being barged in, all armed, the majority Selkath. Melissa got to her feet as she felt the force urging her to intervene and protect the ship. Three blurs passed her as Terri, Bastila and Juhani sped past to get their weapons
"Buir, for some reason the force wants me to protect that craft at all costs." Melissa said, before whistling sharply in a double sharp and double soft whistle.
HK rushed out disintegrator rifle in hand, holding on to Melissa's gunbelt
"Happy Statement: Combat already and we have not left the dock, I think I am going to like this planet."
"Let us go and introduce ourselves to the locals." Melissa suggested
The droid responded by racking a round into the rifles breech. Canderous stepped back from the boarding area his weapons ready.
"There is thirty of them and three of us." Canderous said
"Five, you are forgetting me and Zaalbar." Carth said behind them
"About our usual odds then." Melissa said
The five spread out and got in line in front of the invaders
"I believe you are in the wrong dock." Carth said idly, hand above his blaster.
"Leave human, this is none of your business." A selkath warbled
"Since I paid to be here it is mine. Leave before it gets nasty." Carth warned
"Irritated Declaration: Can we stop the meatbag posturing and get to the killing please."
Weapons came up, there was surprised cries as there suddenly was an armoured Mandalorian in the middle of their formation, the panic was aggravated by the familiar snap-hiss of a lightsaber being deployed. The selkath leader raised a comlink
"Send more, we have Jedi…"
He said no more as a disintegrator round took his arm off and most of his chest
"Mocking statement: Please send more. It would be appreciated."
Carth had dropped to the ground and was now firing from prone. Cnaderous slowly stepped forward, the blue sheen around his armour indicating that he had activated an energy shield, firing short bursts. Overlaying this noise was the whine and clash of a lightsaber in use.
There was a bottleneck as more combatants rushed through, the decimated original group rallied as they saw their reinforcements. Their happiness was short lived as three more coloured blades entered the fray. Those finding cover to fire from found themselves under attack from a sniper. One spotted the sniper on the top of the stationary ship, before he could call out or fire, the twi'lek fired and his body was flung back from behind the barrel he had used. A second bolt slammed into the barrel, igniting the fuel within. A conflagaration of flame rushed around. Somehow the demented delighted electronic cackling of the droid sounded above the cries of alarm
The last body dropped and Terri closed her blade
"Sound off." She called
"Pouting declaration: Intact, can we go find some more?"
Zaalbar growled next, followed by the others. Terri led the way to the now landed second ship, an airlock was opened and she saw a trembling rifle barrel sticking out.
"Hello, the ship. I am knight Cazor." Terri called out
"I have never seen a Jedi dressed in a micro swimsuit." A voice called back
"Do you think I will be able to get a tan in one of those robes." Terri called back, amused
A man slowly edged into view, luckily for him, he had lowered his rifle barrel to point to the ground. The boarding ramp lowered and an insectile being named a Vratix came into view. Bastila gave a surprised gasp
"I thought they never left Thyferra." She said
"Greetings, Jedi. Many thanks for saving our lives." The Vratix carefully pronounciated
"G'Tarj'in. How many times do I have to say stay hidden till it is safe." The man said exasperated
"Valian Armand, it is safe." The Vratix stated confused
"And what if they were just wiping out the competition?" The man asked
"Jedi, not criminal." The vratix stated
"And we know they are not dark Jedi how?" A third voice spoke
"Blade colour." The Vratix replied
Melissa snorted behind Terri's back.
"I can see why that one needs a minder." She commented
The third person came into view. She was much better dressed than the male, her fingers were white as she fiercely gripped her blaster. Melissa appreciatively studied the figure. Long blonde hair touching her posterior, a svelte petite but stacked figure, something her clothing accentuated.
"See something you like?" Terri muttered to Melissa
"I sure do." Melissa replied absently
"And we have no wine available, whatever will you do?" Bastila commented
"I will release the footage of you fighting in a thong swimsuit onto the holonet. And before you ask our perimeter cameras were active so I have the footage." Melissa threatened
The three figures came closer, two cautiously, the other near scampering closer. Terri rapidly handled the introductions.
"As you know already the gentleman is Armand Valian, his friend G'Tarj'in. As for myself, I am Melody Winter." The woman introduced her group, her accent upper clas Alderaan
Terri gave the woman a thoughtfull stare
"Where have I heard your name before?" She asked
"I do not believe we have met before." Melody replied politely
"The bigger question is why is an Alderaan noble flying with two Thyferran's on a dinky freighter." Carth said
"Winter Melody is working for us to earn credits to search for her friend. She does not believe her friend is dead despite the holonet saying the contrary." The Vratix helpfully supplied information
Melissa lifted her helmet and played her hunch
"This friend would not by any change be four foot nine without shoes, slender, brown hair blue eyes. Shy unless it is academically related and then you can not get her to stop asking questions, never mind bouncing on her toes. Grew up in less than ideal circumstances with a very domineering family. Dresses in bland overlarge clothing to make herself seem less conspicuous."
Melody tried to keep her face neutral, but her hopefull shock echoed in the force. Melissa went in for the kill
"Reported to have died on Korriban from Andorian flu." She said
"Your tale matches, Wren Melissa." The Vratix exclaimed excitedly
Melody threw the excited insect an exasperated glare before shaking her head
"I believe you have met Viccy Organa then." She said in resignation
"I heard that Viccy Organa died on Korriban, but she sounds very similar to a Viccy Wren I know." Melissa replied
"Is there a possibility you could introduce me to this Viccy Wren?" Melody asked hopefully
Terri snapped her fingers
"That is where, the only other thing she really got exited about was her only childhood friend."
"The Organa and Winter families have close relations with each other, so that does not explain why you are working for credits for your search." Bastila pointed out
"My family gave me a choice accept she is dead or be excommunicated by the family and cut of from the family resources." Melody replied
"That still does not explain why you are here." Carth prodded
"Winter Melody was to act as spokesperson for our product to sell at the medical conference. Come I will show you products" The Vratix chimed in
The man gave a resigned wave to his ship as the Vratix scrambled into the hold. Two large tanks contained a pulsating blue substance, several containers with medical markings bracketed it
"Looks like raw kolto." Carth commented
"Bacteria not kolto. Much better" The vratix corrected
Melody cleared her throat and started speaking
"The substance before you is a product that is produced by the Vratix nation on the planet of Thyferra from a secret process that I am not allowed to divulge or know of. Prelimenary testing has shown it to be thirty percent more effective than Kolto with less change of rejection or allergies reaction by a substance name pending can be produced at half of the cost of kolto and has a longer shelve life by several months."
She finished the prepared introduction as if she had done this several times before. The man looked to their reactions before his shoulders slumped
"You do not believe it." He said simply
"It sounds a bit fantastical." Carth said
Terri studied the man for a moment
"This is what brought you to the conference, a last attempt to sell your poduct. And that is why you did not take of when the gang barged in." She said
"Yes." Armand slumped further
"And no credits for fuel." The Vratix added
"Your kind do not get out much do they?" Mission commented
"We rarely leave our nests but friend Valian Armand convinced the nest elders of the wisdom of letting the galaxy learn of our best medicine." The Vratix nodded it head
The multiple eyes of the being glittered as it moved its head happily up and down. A slight clattering came from the deck as he moved about in the deck from its serrated appendages. Terri pointed to the containers
"I am guessing like kolto submersion is the best treatment option."
"For major injuries, yes. Otherwise it can be applied with normal dressings or topically like a cream." Armand answered
" Got a sample container?" Melissa asked
Armand opened a crate and produced a smaller container. The substance was still bright blue but no longer pulsating like the larger containers. A spray attachment was attached to the container. Melissa pulled her glove from her left hand and deployed her wrist blade. Nicking her palm she sprayed the substance onto the wound. They watched as the substance quickly started sealing the wound without leaving a scar.
"Can this be produced of Thyferra?" She asked
"For now, no. Maybe if you can find a planet that meets the Vratix requirements for production but Thyferra has a pretty distinct biosphere." Armand answered
Melissa shot Terri a glance. Bastila gave Terri's hand a squeeze and nodded
"I am a bit stretched now so I can go in for fifty for now." She said
"I can loan you another fifty and me and Bastila will go for a hundred each." Terri stated
" Are you doing what I think you are doing?" Carth asked
"We are. I think we know why the force all but forced us to intervene. I can add eighty." Juhani said
"I will cover you for twenty and add a hundred of mine and another hundred from my family." Canderous nodded to Juhani
"Me And Z will go in for a hundred between the two of us." Mission added
Armand coughed to clear his throat
"I am sorry to say we will need more than a thousand credits to start up." He said apologetically
"You misunderstand that is a hundred thousand credits per person so far." Bastila corrected him
"Just like that." Melody said in surprise
Terri gave a wry smile
"If you could feel the force you would understand. It pushed us to defend you and now it almost purring in satisfaction and having a big cat on board we can tell it is purring."
"Fine I will add a hundred for me and another hundred for Dustill." Carth said
"If you come over to our ship we can contact our lawyer and arrange the transfer of funds to your company in exchange for shares." Terri suggested
"That can take several days." Armand cautioned
"No, Holocom relay, it will take a few hours at most, we more or less have a standard contract for buying into companies." Terri shrugged
Melissa was tapping away on her datapad.
"I can add another eight thousand if I shift money from the kids candy account. I think it will be a good starting investment for them." She said
"I will match that." Mission said and Zaalbar growled in acknowledgement
"What about your family?" Carth asked
"I cannot speak for the Duchess," Melissa shrugged
She turned to face Armand
"Though would you be willing to reserve a block of shares for further investment." She asked
"If it gets me the credits for a startup, yes." He exclaimed
Melissa nodded to Bastila
"You will negotiate the deal for us?" She asked
"Certianly. You can contact the other office so long and let them know to stand by for writing up the final deal. Five percent for your family?"
"Make it ten and whatever sixteen thousand will get for the kids."
Melissa motioned to Melody
"If you want to follow me I will see if my clanswoman is available for a chat."
Carth was leaning against the bulkhead as Melissa left Melody to talk to her friend
"Bastila still negotiating?" Melissa asked
"Yes and enjoying every moment of it. Valian may look a bit weedy but he is a businessman through and through, though I think Bastila has the edge for now. She got us their current cargo at cost once the symposium ends in exchange for providing protection to and from the docks to the symposium hotel."
"Already planning to increase the investment." Melissa nodded
"I know you all said the force was pushing you, but how badly did it push?" Carth asked
"Normally we will get a warning, this time it was like someone triggering an air raid siren in Coruscant. The force really did not want anything to happen to them." Melissa replied
"Okay then." Carth nodded
He looked at where the old female dorm was
"If we rip out the shelves do you think we can add a kolto tank?" He asked
"Human sized yes. Though we should first find out if the tanks are compatable with the bacteria."
"We can ask, we should be able to pick up a tank at a reasonable price."
"We should also look for a tank program for the medbay drone if we do this." Melissa pointed out
Melissa tilted her head to the side
"We should get outside we are about to have company." She said
"Another gang?" Carth asked
"Worse, government." Melissa replied with a chuckle
"Good, they can pay to replace our burnt up lunch."
"As if." Melissa snorted in amusement
"Just watch the master at work." Carth stated
Melissa and Canderous stood behind Carth's shoulder as the group of Selkath entered the docking bay preceded by a platoon of security droids
"Is it standard policy to take three hours to attend to an attack on an ambassadorial vessel?" Carth demanded icily
"This is an ambassadorial vessel" A selkath warbled
Melissa leaned forward slightly.
"The fifth one on the left." She whispered
Carth's finger pointed to the indicated Selkath
"Your customs agent was shown the documentation and she recorded it. Was she by any chance paid to remove that notation or was her xenophobia enough reason to do that." Carth stated, his tone still cold
"Where is your ambassador?" The indicated Selkath demanded
"After being attacked barely after landing not stepping a foot outside the ship." Carth retorted
"Under Republic law, which Manaan is part of it is illegal to demand knowledge pertaining to diplomatic staff." Canderous added
The Selkath in charge took a step back and shot the junior agent a look.
"And you are what on this vessel." He asked more politely
"Captain and the two behind me is the security detail." Carth replied
"You are from Mandalore then?" The officer probed
"Private security, this is an informal visit. And that is all I will divulge" Carth corrected
"You have our apologies. Please let us know what we can do to correct this insult."
"We were preparing food for her excellency and it was spoiled during the attack." Carth replied
"We will see to the replacement, speak to my aide and she will have it delivered."
The group moved towards the second ship and Melissa stepped into their path
"Her excellency is currently on the other ship negotiating a trade deal and has stated that she does not wish to be interrupted. We can provide security footage that show that the ship played no part in this assassination attempt. They have been briefed as to your docking protocols. As an apology gesture for being endangered her excellency has placed the ship under her protection and as such it and its crew and passengers is covered by diplomatic immunity regulations" She lied boldly
The senior Selkath backed down and turned to the door, the droids falling in around him
"In regards to the bodies." Carth stated stopping the officer
"A cleaning crew will be dispatched for cleanup at no cost." The officer replied
Smirking Carth turned to the aide that was left behind
"As to the food destroyed we were preparing Kryatt dragon steaks, but we will settle for nerf hindquarter as it unreasonable to expect Kryatt meat at short notice, a case of Organa Orchards select was hit by laser fire."
Carth pointed to the cooling box that had been hit by a stray shot, a purplish stain covering the deck from the damaged container. Melissa saw that the aide wanted to call bantha crap on that but had to swallow the claim to prevent a further diplomatic incident
"Her Excellency likes dessert berry Tihaar, a bottle or two could mute her response when she contacts the republic embassy to report this incident." Melissa suggested as a casual aside
The aide took notes on her datapad and nodded stiffly at them before spinning around and storming off, taking the last of the Selkath and the droids with her. Canderous removed his helmet and lit a nicotine stick
"From the look that custom agent got, I would avoid seafood while here. You know what or who is likely to be served up now." He commented
"Cannibal species?" Carth asked
" Yes. And be careful not to get bitten by one of them. The bite has a neurotoxin." Canderous replied, exhaling smoke
"Again why can we not go to planet with nice and cute creatures that just want to cuddle." Melissa complained
"You will be bored in five minutes." Carth remarked in reply
All movement in the passage stopped as the beings stopped and stared at the procession leaving the docking bay. Two Mandalorians in gleaming armour flanked by a female in jedi robes each stepped out and took a defensive stance. The black haired Jedi looked around before motioning to her back. A human male and wookie stepped out next. The Wookie had been groomed till its fur was straight and sleek. A veiled figure dressed in white was next, she was followed by a demurely dressed Twi'lek attendant and an insectile being
Behind this group another human male and female came ahead of a line of automated hovertrolleys behind them. Once the white figure stepped onto the concourse the Jedi and Mandalorians fell into place on her sides and they set of to the customs station leading to Ahto City centre.
"Tell me again, why am I the one in this ridiculous get up." Juhani snarled under the veil
"You picked blade when you should have picked flimsy." Terri told her jovially with bow towards her
On the periphery they noticed a large group of Selkath and a group of assorted beings falling back. Melissa and Canderous stepped to the side and fell in behind the hovertrolleys as they passed. Melissa spinning around to check their back. And the group of beings fell back even further. No one batted an eyelid as a human male Jedi exited the dock minutes later. Slowly noise and movement returned to the concourse as the assembled beings returned to their duties.
Juhani was seated alone at the table to the café servicing the conference centre, her "bodyguards" in a circle around the table. From where she was seated they could see the Selkath delegation throw murderous glares to where the Bacteria stall was being hastily set up. Arriving at the centre had them finding that the stall had not been set up, despite having been bought and paid for well in advance.
"So we can now guess who was behind the attack." Juhani said idly
"More than likely." Carth replied seated behind her, a datapad held on his knee and Mission grumpily standing behind her chair.
Zaalbar was leaning against the wall by the stall acting as security there. A waiter stepped towards the table holding a tray. Moments later he was flipped over his feet as Melissa moved in. The tray was set down on the table as Melissa caught it while maintaining her arm bar on the waiter. The conference security detail moved in quickly.
Melissa produced a set of flex cuffs and secured the waiter before thrusting him towards the security personal. She jerked her head to the carafe of Caf
"My helmets sensors picked up the poison from five feet away." She told them
A senior security officer produced a probe and thrust it into the carafe. The probe flashed a red light and bleeped urgently. The waiter and the carafe was hustled away and the beings in the room returned to their business
A being dressed in a sharp suit approached Melissa and handed her a flimsy.
"Excuse me for interrupting you while you are on duty. If possible could we talk later about your helmet sensor package. I represent a security consortium that would be very interested in it." The being spoke charmingly
"It is currently restricted to Mandalorians only. This package may become available for sale to select clients through Mandalmotors once the upgrade has been released to the Mando'Ade. Enquiries can be made to their headquarters at Keldabe" Melissa replied
"If I may ask what upgrades are being planned?" The being persisted
"For one the autodelete program should someone attempt to slice the program or the users vital signs stop or being away from your armour. And possibly an update on newer poisons and weapons." Melissa said
"It does not just concentrate on substances then?" The being was close to salivating
"I am sorry I can not say more and need to return to duty." Melissa politely replied
Her helmet com crackled
"Ten credits that one is running to the nearest holocom station right now." Canderous spoke amusedly
"That is a suckers bet. Besides he may not get the package he is salivating over, but Mandalmotors has some old systems that they need to get rid of that is close enough." Melissa replied
"Just remember to inform Countess Brevkin who started this if a sale realises." Canderous reminded
"I will send her the details later and make sure the profit goes to rebuilding Concord Dawn." Melissa responded
Melissa turned to face the Selkath contingent
"They are not looking very happy around now." She commented
"They have very little to be happy about. They failed to stop a competitor showing up and their assassin just failed. All they achieved is drawing more attention to their competitor." Canderous stated
"How long is this event scheduled for again?" She asked
"Another five hours."
"Might as well get T3 to start sweeping the other ship." She suggested
"Get on it. If droids could pray I bet HK is praying right now for someone to try entering the dock." Canderous responded
"Again a suckers bet. He was polishing that disintegrator rifle last night with the lubricant for turbolaser cannons he bought of the quartermaster on the Resolution. I almost am willing to swear it was crooning a droid lullaby to it." Melissa said with a chuckle
"Speaking of special treatment what are you doing about the grumpy cat under the veil? She is looking more irritated by the minute."
"I will send her a message to remind her there is no emotion there is peace and buy her some cream later."
Canderous shifted and looked over the room
"You know the Jetti has reached the embassy by now." He said
"We knew he would turn on us, nothing has changed there. We will see if Vrook warned the embassy about us when we go there, not that it really changes anything." Melissa shrugged
"True, just don't start to underestimate the Jetti, he could still become a problem later." Canderous warned
