Title: Rewrite the Stars

Chapter 68

***Courtroom***

Juror: "We, the jury, find the defendant, Sam McCall, guilty of kidnapping Elizabeth Webber. We also find the defendant guilty of conspiracy to commit murder or wanting to commit murder."

Judge Heller: "Thank you, jury. You are dismissed." (sighs deeply) "Miss McCall, normally I would take a thirty minute recess to decide on a sentence. But, in this case, I don't need to do that. Not only hiring someone to kidnap, but willing to commit murder? We need as many shady people off the streets as we can get. I'm hereby sentencing you to thirty years in Pentonville without the possibility of parole."

(Sam is horrified! However, everyone else is relieved that Sam will be out of their lives now. Sam looks at the judge with tears in her eyes)

Sam: "Can I please say goodbye to my son, who is at my penthouse with my sister?"

DA Scorpio: "Judge, Sam is a flight risk as she has a passport and could run as soon as she leaves the courthouse."

Scott: "Your honor, if it would help the court any, I could take Sam to see Danny so she can't try getting away."

DA Scorpio: "I want a police officer to escort Sam and Scott to see her son so she can't try escaping as Sam may try persuading Mr. Baldwin to let her go."

Judge Heller: "Miss McCall, I'll allow it. You will have thirty minutes to see your son. No more. I grant DA Scorpio his request. McCall, you will have a police officer to escort you to your place with Mr. Baldwin and then back here."

Sam: (nods) "Thank you, your honor."

Judge Heller: "Court is now adjourned."

(Elizabeth walks casually to Sam, who faces her enemy in defeat)

Liz: "You will no longer try to hurt me. Now that you will be behind bars, I no longer have to live in fear that you will do anything. After all these years of attempting to, you failed to erase me from this life and Jason's life. I never wanted this, Sam. I don't hate you. Just remember this was all because of YOU and YOUR VENDETTA. Oh, and by the way, even though you tried to keep the paternity of my sons from me and Jason..." (smiles) "...I've got news for you, McCall. All three of my sons are biologically Jason's. Goodbye."

(Elizabeth walks away with Jason. Sam just looks away as she wished she could've killed the bitch before asking Scott if she can say goodbye to her son now. DA Scorpio has Jordan Ashford get a police officer escort her and Scott to her home)

***Sam's Penthouse***

(Upon arriving, Sam sees Danny in the living room watching TV with Kristina. Both Danny and Kristina see the police officer with Scott Baldwin and wonder what's going on)

Sam: "Kristina, can I speak to you in private?"

(Scott keeps an eye on Danny)

Kristina: "What's going on?"

Sam: "I was found guilty of kidnapping and attempted murder of Lizzie."

(Kristina rolls her eyes at her sister before speaking in anger)

Kristina: "Does that surprise you? You did do it."

Sam: "Would you please not raise your voice because Danny will hear you?"

Kristina: "Danny's old enough to understand and it's clear he doesn't agree with your choices." (shakes her head) "Don't expect any sympathy from me because you won't get it. You lost it the day you tried to hurt someone who did nothing to you."

(Sam is about to argue when she knows it's not worth it. Sam goes to Danny and sits with him on the couch with Kristina looking on. Scott and the police officer are in the corner)

Sam: "Hi, sweetie."

Danny: (confused) "What's going on?"

Sam: "I was accused of doing a bad thing."

Danny: "Did you actually do it?"

(Sam looks at Kristina, who shakes her head)

Kristina: "Don't lie."

Sam: (sighs) "Yes, unfortunately, I did."

Danny: "What was it?"

Sam: "When you're older, I'll tell you. But, for now, just know that I have to go away for a long time to pay for my crimes. Which means, I won't see you awhile."

Danny: "Will I live with Grandma Alexis or Dad and Mommy Elizabeth?"

(Sam briefly closes her eyes as hearing how her son refers to her enemy stings like hell. She couldn't express it, though)

Sam: "Hopefully, Grandma Alexis."

Kristina: "Ultimately, a judge will decide who is best fit to raise you, sweetie. But grandma Alexis and I will always be in your life."

Sam: (tearfully) "I'll always love you even though I probably won't see you until you're older."

(Danny hugs his mom one last time before going upstairs. Scott walks to Sam)

Scott: "Unfortunately, it's time, Sam."

Sam: (sighs deeply) "No matter who ends up with Danny, please tell him I did love him and did my best to be a good mom."

Kristina: (nods) "I will."

(The police officer escorted Sam away with Scott keeping a watchful eye as long as he can before he goes home. Kristina calls her mother)

Alexis: "Hi, honey. Did Sam say goodbye to Danny?"

Kristina: "Yeah and the policer officer just escorted her out. Why weren't you here instead of Scott when she said goodbye to Danny?"

Alexis: "That is what Sam preferred. Sam is no longer on speaking terms with me as I don't agree with her choices."

Kristina: "I don't, either."

***Scott Baldwin's Penthouse***

Scott: "Hi, son."

Franco: "Hi, dad. How'd Sam's trial go?"

Scott: "Sam was found guilty of not only kidnapping, but attempted murder."

Franco: (eyes widened) "Wow. She really wanted Elizabeth gone."

Scott: "Yep. Now that Sam is in Pentonville for her crimes, you can sue for custody of Danny being he's your biological son."

Franco: "Dad, I want to make something clear. Jason, Elizabeth, and I have an agreement and I'm sticking to it. If Jason and Elizabeth decide to get custody of Danny, I will still be a part of his life. I'm not going to just uproot Danny's life because I'm his biological father."

Scott: "Son, you have rights, too."

Franco: (nods) "Yes, that is true. But, so does Danny. I will get to know Danny slowly but surely."

***Webber House***

(Elizabeth, Jason, and the boys were glad the nightmare is finally over. Sam is where she belongs…in jail in Pentonville)

Liz: (smiles) "So, Cam, when is prom?"

Cameron: (grins) "In a few weeks. I can't wait to see Joss in her dress." (chuckles) "She says I'm going to love it. We are both looking forward to it."

Liz: "I can't wait to take pictures. I'll try not to embarrass you, sweetie."

Jason: "I can't believe my son is all grown up."

(Jason and Cameron share a father and son hug)
