Summary/disclaimer: Time for another chapter of Corrupted Divinity. Enjoy the 3600-Word chapter. I do not own Hazbin Hotel, Viziepop, and a few others do.
Lute glanced at Neo who did not look at her. He already knew if she was going to kill him. She wanted to kill him when she could savor it.
Now? Now was not the time for fighting when it came down to it. They both had better things to do than kill each other for now.
She thought of it as he relaxed. He snorted and looked over at her, his mask tucked under his arm.
"You can sleep here… I will sleep on the other side…" Neo stated before he frowned. "What the hell happened to this boat?" Neo muttered as he started walking.
"Like hell, I'm letting you run away, b******," Lute stated before she relaxed.
"Well, I am going to sleep… So, unless you plan to share a bed? Sleep here." Neo stated eyebrow raised as if DARING the angel to shed her pride.
He knew even if it was not creepy? She would not, her pride would never allow her to share a bed with an 'abomination.'
Even if it aided her mission. If she was interested in capturing him? He expected her to attempt to capture him at the end of the night or him to wake up to her still here.
Despite obviously hating him? She blushed goldenly, obviously off put by such an unholy thing.
He snorted and flew off without waiting for her to answer. He expected her to fly off, to go tell the other angels, and to try and kill him, he had prepared for a fight but it was not something he wanted to be pushed towards.
If she fought? He would fight back if he was asked for his life to save others. He would not understand himself more than her.
He was tired, too tired now, and relaxed for now. All the other parts of his mind told him to run, to flee.
He was bored for now. He was utterly exhausted now and unsure of what was growing on his mind. He was tired, exhausted… Beaten down at the end of the day, too much at the time.
He had been too distracted for now and then it came to an edge when it was all said and done as he paused to think.
There were a lot of different ideas as he paused to relax for the time being… There were a lot of different clues in his mind.
It cut through him in a thousand different ways, it shook him to the core when they had been answered.
He was disturbed now, the idea like this was made to be answered and answered slowly and softly.
He had a lot more to try and answer when he got to sleep… Sleep helped a lot more than he would have admitted it for the end of the day.
Then again? Sleep also happened to give him nonstop nightmares but it tended to work out even enough for him.
He wanted to sleep, he would get sleep and then he would act. He would not be eager to sleep.
There was a lot more to try and think. There was something else to deal with as he shook his head.
The exhaustion made him turn a corner almost into the wall… He was ready to drop as he yawned, slowly starting to wind down.
"Ok… Time to get sleep." Neo muttered to himself. "I'm too damn tired inside to care," Neo muttered as he slowly and surely stepped inside.
The room was half flooded… But to him? He did not care, so long as a shark did not come crashing through the damn window? He was fine, he was more than willing to endure that.
He sighed to himself once more and flopped down on the damaged bed, to anything besides an angel. This would probably have sucked WAY worse.
To a half-angel? It was simply a heavy bed. He tossed his mask onto the shelf and then closed his eyes.
He was glad he had hidden the weapons underwater. Lute would not look for them far away, simply believing he had broken them and left them somewhere.
Better to trick than be fooled and killed. He had a lot more to deal with for now… He had a lot of different ideas.
"Part of me wishes I was already dead," Neo muttered as he grunted, not even able to remove his damned armor out of dislike for it and how it felt. "If someone wanted to kill me? they could… Anyone could." Neo thought as he sighed to himself.
He was curious as to what Lute would do. He could not contain her… Not against the army of angels nor did he have anywhere to keep her for now.
He had a lot more to deal with. Lute was a hostage name but he could not maintain that… Nor would he enjoy it, he had no desire to lower himself to keeping someone prisoner.
He wanted simply freedom; he knew better than to entertain the idea he was the good guy here considering he was still fighting to be free at the cost of someone else when it came down to it.
He had no idea what was coming, no idea how the angels would respond but he expected death tomorrow, the death of himself.
It would be very odd for him to relax, he would not be able to think, much less fight… There were a lot of different ideas for the moment.
He was bored, he was all too bored as he closed his eyes and relaxed.
He had a lot more to understand for the end of it all when this was all said and done.
He was interrupted by the door opening and he knew what was growing on his mind, too much would grow from it now.
Now at the end of the day? The pain in his brain was derailed as he looked out the window and saw nothing but chaos, nothing but sheer chaos to greet him.
Granted? He was going to be thrown through the meat grinder when it came down to it…
He sighed to himself, bored only by the desire to relax, bored by every thought running through his skull. He knew better than to grow comfortable.
"Move over." Lute hissed as he opened his eyes and glanced at her.
"You're joking," Neo stated, glancing at her. "You are s****** me when it comes to this, you are HONESTLY screwing with me," Neo stated before he sighed to himself.
He climbed to his feet, looking at her in the pale moonlight. He had picked the most terrible, most decrepit room on the ship for him to sleep in just to offset the idea of this.
'There is no damn way this woman has the gall to screw her ego over just for the sake of her mission.
She would not change when it came down to it when it came down to it.
They had a lot more left to deal with for now as he paused, looked at her, judged, and questioned if this girl was just trying something chaotic for now as he paused.
Lute hummed, looked at him and he questioned her.
"Please tell me you did not come here just because your ego wouldn't let you admit I had a point," Neo stated, golden and red eyes burning with light.
He was silent, distracted, for now, he had been thrown off when it had been coming down to it… He had been thrown off now, he would remain thrown off.
Lute blushed, golden on her face as he snorted.
"You can't shed your pride, Lute," Neo stated before he snorted and then plopped down on the bed. "I'm going to bed," Neo stated as he sighed to himself.
He had a lot more to try and laugh at but this was not going to be something he had a lot more to deal with for now.
There was something else to deal with… This was not part of this sort of thing.
"I damn well do, you cocky, vile…." Lute hissed before she looked to the side. "Shut up and move over," Lute stated, glad the light hid her face.
"Why? There are plenty of rooms around here to keep yourself cozy in. I got this room just so you did not have the gall to deal with me for now, let me get some damn sleep." Neo stated before he sighed.
Part of him expected her to have the gall. He was not going to be able to relax, he would not be able to grasp what her goal was when it was all decided for now, there was growing on his mind.
He had a lot more to deal with, so did she and she knew it for now when it came down to it… There was now nothing left to deal with.
He had a lot more to understand as well and he looked at her with the subtle mercy of someone who was going to be distracted now.
She seemed to be willing to try something for now as she paused to think. She looked over at him, tired now and tired more than she normally wished to.
There were a few seconds of silence before he looked at her… There was a moment of silence as he sighed and then realized she was not leaving when all was said and done.
She was a lot more focused on her job it seemed.
"Move over," Lute stated, hissing the word as Neo snorted before he slowly started to climb to his feet.
He looked to the side, eyes burning as he sighed to himself, too curious as to what Lute was going to do.
There was nothing left for them now, nothing he could do to shake her off when it came down to it all.
The exhaustion in his voice was something that needed to have occurred now when it came down to it.
She shoved him over and Neo snorted as the angel sat down next to him. Neo rolled his eyes, both different colors showing how odd he was to her when it came down to it.
"Not a damn word," Lute said as Neo snorted.
"You are seriously going to… Fine, screw it. Sleep… You are out of your damn brain if you think I am running off." Neo stated, shaking his head as he paused and then thought of it.
There was a lot more left to decide and he was pushed to the edge of his mind.
He was not at all ready to relax… But he was ready to sleep as the half-angel simply slumped down to the ground, exhausted now.
He closed his eyes without another word, knowing what was going on now when it came down to it… He sighed to himself and then shook his head.
He was more confused than anything. Neo simply slumped to the ground, tired… Bored… He had no care left, none when that shoe dropped.
The boredom he felt was gone at least. He could not claim he was bored, too tired now and he cracked his fingers, ready to pass out as he questioned if the angels would declare her a traitor.
He was too much thrown off to complain when it came down to it as he paused and cracked a smile, slowly starting to sleep, too tired as he thought of what was growing for now.
He had a lot more to focus on when it came to the side. He sighed once more as he looked upwards as he looked into the sky.
Then his eyes fluttered close out of sheer annoyance. Lute was too tired at the end of the day… Something about it all had been too much for now.
Lute glared at him before she flew down, slamming into the water as Neo sighed. He was not going to watch this now and he damn well was not going to make her suffer just because of a mistake.
He dropped into the hip-deep water before grabbing one of Lute's wings.
"Get the hell off me!" Lute hissed before he snorted. "NOW!" Lute stated before he glared at her.
He ran water over the paint and food he had mixed into her wings, making the angel shiver at how cold the water and his hands were. She stood straight as a statue.
"I am not watching you slam into everything… Nor am I sleeping here. I chose here so you left me alone… If you are taking the same bed? I am finding a better one so you do not break your damn back sleeping." Neo stated as he watched it dissolve. "You stab me in my damn back? I am kicking your ass, even if I do not want to fight a damn girl." Neo stated before waiting until her wings began to flutter.
"Are you stupid? Letting me fly…." Lute hissed as Neo crossed his arms.
"Only I know where our spears are and without them? All you can do is hit me…. You want me for the Seraphs and I need YOU for a hostage, is stabbing me just for the rush going to be any better than if I was executed?" Neo asked in a tone that suggested he was too annoyed now when it came down to it all when it was all decided.
He sighed, ready to collapse and then he questioned what was to happen tonight to make him surprised now when it came down to it.
He was eager to drop and if nothing else? So was Lute, so he dragged the woman by the leg as she kicked like a child, him ignoring her hits like they were snowdrops hitting a sheet of ice.
"If you want? I can carry you like a sack of God****** potatoes." Neo hissed, glancing at her before he shook his head. "I am not going to hurt you unless you force me and no offense? I am not exactly a fan of having to grab your leg either." Neo hissed before he sighed.
He knew better than to argue with an angel. There was so little left to distract him for now, so little it had hurt… And now? Now at the end of such a thing? He almost wanted to laugh, scream… He was expecting something beyond the pale.
Then again? Lute was turning out to be a surprise he could not entirely account for. Now at the end of the day would they have kept dealing with it all for now?
He had a lot more left to distract them for now… Now and for a good reason.
Now and for a time they could have done much more… That and if she killed him? She would never learn where the other Nephilim were, that was a sacrifice he was willing to have made for now or for even a little bit.
It was something short of madness, something born of madness when it came down to it.
He did not at all know when or not it was going to end, he did not at all want to know that… Only know what was to come as a reason… This would be bothersome for now and bother because of it all.
He dragged her along as if she was a toy he would carry as a child. It was enough to bring a small degree of amusement to his face as he did so… Not simply due to any sadism but due to the idea she would mock him for now.
Lute growled but did nothing knowing she had chosen this sort of thing and he was right. Without their weapons? All they could do was whale on each other like children, not something becoming of an exorcist.
They were skilled warriors, well… She was but she knew he was no slouch when it came to a brawl, low as she wished it was true.
There was little in the way of such things… They had to sleep either way, killing the other would not continue to be a factor.
Something about it all had been comical in a way, their different lines of thinking.
Then again? He would laugh when his body did not still feel too bruised for him to think rationally for a moment in time.
He yawned despite the fact he was already beginning to sleep and opened a door to another cabin… The captain appeared to be in far better shape than the rest of the ship.
He sighed, let Lute go cracked his wings, and went towards the bathroom.
"Unless you want to make some super sin crap? I would not sleep like that… I was going to sleep with my armor but you made it clear I am not going to need it tonight." Neo stated before he looked at her. "And no, I do not care if you wear something or not… But it is not like those clothes are comfortable sleeping." Neo stated before slamming the door as Lute went to argue.
He did not care one bit if she was standing in nothing but a pretty smile. He hated angels for killing his people and she hated him for existing, neither took any carnal pleasure in being forced to share a sleeping spot even with the idea of being more underdressed.
To him? it was equal to sleeping on a sea urchin and he had no desire to repeat it if possible. When it came down to it as of the time being.
Lute was too distracted for now as he paused to think of what was going to be his next move from here on out.
She did not know what to say from now when it came down to it as he paused, thinking of what was growing on his mind before he thought of it all.
Lute sighed and cursed before she looked to the side, she looked to the side as she paused to think of what was growing for now.
She was tired and then thought of what was growing on their mind… Something about it all had been bothering her.
She knew if she backed down? She would be showing weakness and she did not want to think, to pause herself.
She hated the damn idea some half-corrupted angel was getting to her. The damn fact she had chosen to do this bothered her more than it should have.
Neo snorted from inside the room before answering the door.
"If you want? I will sleep in the damn bathtub." Neo stated before he cleared his throat. "I can sleep here if you want. You are the one following me." Neo stated in a much more tired voice.
He was too tired to care, too eager to sleep, too tired, and too much thrown off. His brain felt like mush and he wanted to fall over, collapse into the metal floor, and sleep.
Lute snorted before she looked at the door, making him pause and then laugh before he thought of it.
There was something to be said about her pride. It seemed she had been unwilling to back down.
There was a lot more to deal with for now as he crossed his arms and then thought of it all… There were a lot of different ideas for now.
There was a lot more to deal with for now and it had hurt when it came down to it all… There was a degree of things when it came down to it.
He was silent, waiting for an answer when it came down to it. He guessed she was just insane when it came to things.
Then again? She was curious as to it all… Such was too much left now, something that would haunt them for the time.
She sighed to herself as she realized what had been done… How it would happen and simply would have had to make due when it came down to it.
To be fair? Each little idea they had bothered them both to the nth level degree when push had come to shove.
At the time? Such was life, life was good and it seemed as if they had no real clue as to HOW this would turn out when all of it was said and done, all of it had to end, and all would end.
She sucked up her pride and understood when it came down to such a thing, all too ready to explode into a giant thing of fire and smoke. She also knew damn well she could not be allowed to show weakness when it was all over.
There was a lot more left to distract them… There was a lot more beyond them to question.
(With Adam and the others)
"So, what, these Nephilim jackasses ended up fighting us years ago and you didn't ask me to kill them?" Adam asked before he shook his head.
"Where do you think the Archangels have been for centuries?" Sera stated before she looked to the side as she paused to think.
"How come I am not one!? I am the first…" Adam started as the Seraph turned and glared at him before he sat back down.
"Call in Archy…" Sera stated before she turned to the side, knowing that she was going to need someone worse than Adam to win this fight.
Author Notes
Phew. Another chapter is done! I want to point out I am going to make the next chapter shorter… And I want this chapter to show how much Lute and Neo HATE each other currently. The next chapter will be in 2-10 months, be 900-6500 words, and show Lute and Neo dealing with each other and more about the Archangels. Until then? Lighting Wolf out!
