Chapter 2

The moment Harry was reading the introductory book on Kabbalah, Daphne slowly made her way to the Slytherin common room.
The common room was dark and eerie as always, thanks to the soft green light that shone through the windows, which gave a view of the depths of the Great Lake.
Yet, Daphne was never perturbed by this view, it calmed her down instead.

Today however, was a different story. For some reason, ever since she met Harry today and gave him that book, her head was pounding. It felt as if something was trying to enter her mind.
Only her considerable skill in Occlumency and the Kabbalistic Arts, was preventing her mind being overtaken. How long could she hold it off though.

Yet somehow, the intrusions didn't feel malevolent. It was like she herself tried to enter her mind. Did she somehow screw up during her earlier meditations? Or was she somehow entering the world of Briah? Her father told her that entering this stage could have some effects on the mind, yet she was way to young. She had to be sure before she acted.

"Daphne!" Before she could enter her bedroom, she was stopped by her best (and only) friend Tracy Davis. "Did you finally meet Potter?" she asked, having a huge grin on her face.

A small smile crept on Daphne's face. "I did." she answered. "I saw him sitting by the lake today. As expected, he was alone." her smile left as quickly as it appeared. Nobody deserved to be ostracized like Harry was. Yet, she thought, thanks to his house leaving him alone this year, she was able to approach him. Oh how she wanted to get closer to him, but him being a Gryffindor made it a bit problematic. Daphne sighed and started massaging her temples.

"Are you alright?" Tracy asked, a worried look was present on her face. She wanted to ask more, teasing Daphne with Potter like she always did. Yet the look on Daphne's face made her hold back. "What happened?"

"Nothing, just having a really bad headache. I'm going to bed, I see you tomorrow." Daphne answered and started making her way to her bedroom. Once there, she sat on her bed with her legs crossed, and let her wand rest in her hands. "Now, what is happening to my mind." she muttered. First she let her magic flow into her wand, which lighted up, showing she has reached the World of Asiah. Next she entered her heart, and looked at her innermost desire. People called her the Ice Queen, because she was cold, sharp, and often considered hostile. Yet she wasn't, as her deepest desire was to be as the whitest snow. Cold? Sure, but not hostile. She wanted to be desirable and pristine as the first snowflakes that fell on the Earth. As she acknowledged that desire a soft and gentle cold breeze blew in her room. This was her Yetzirah. 'But why, and for whom?' she thought. Again she felt something trying to enter her mind, and this time it made their presence known. She saw a giant golden throne, decorated with icy blue flowers, and on that throne sat a man who she could somehow recognize, yet she couldn't see His face, as shadows hid it from her.

"Hello Daphne." He said, with a soft voice which penetrated every fiber of her being, filling her with ecstasy but also with dread. What being was so powerful that every fiber of her being was in awe of His existence. She met a few wizards and witches who achieved Briah, but never has she experienced such a feeling. Atziluth was the only explanation. "Indeed." The God answered her thoughts as he stood from his Throne. "Let us take a walk Daphne."

With a wave of His hand, the surrounding changed into a beautiful garden, filled with trees, birds and gentle animals like deers, squirrels and other critters. Yet most striking where to flowers, as all the flowers in the garden were icy blue flowers, just like the ones on the Throne.

"It's good to see you again Daphne, although for you we will be meeting for the first time." His words let to a confused look appearing on Daphne's face which made the God chuckle. "Don't worry", He said. "After this meeting you will remember. Now listen carefully, the reason this moment was granted to us, was thanks to you achieving Briah and the form it takes. However our time is short and the moment your Briah is fully formed, this connection is severed, do you understand?" Daphne nodded. "Then I will teach you what the Kabbalah truly is."

The God explained that Kabbalah is the system which the Throne created in a magical world to let someone achieve godhood. Yet, not everyone is destined to achieve it, and most who achieved Atziluth, the pinacle of Kabbalah, cannot reach the throne. There are two types of Gods. The Transcendent Gods and the Hegemony Gods. Transcendent Gods are the most common type. Their desire, is not to change the world, but to change themselves, as such they are never able to reach the Throne. But they are unbound from the Laws of the Creator God and become ageless beings. Hegemony Gods are born from desires to change the world to their image. As soon as one with such a desire achieves Atziluth, he or she is forced to leave the world and battle with the Creator God. If the contender loses, his soul will be absorbed by the Throne. If the contender wins his, the Creator God will be absorbed. At that point, the Hegemony God becomes the new Creator God, his desire becomes Law and Genesis once again will begin anew according to their Law.

He also mentioned the previous Gods, The First God was Ahura Mazda, who's Law created the the eternal struggle of Good vs. Evil. And if Good won, it would turn to Evil and a new Good will rise.
She was eventually dethroned by Muzan, the Remorseless One. Disillusioned with the forces of Good, he create a world called the Paradise of the Fallen, where evil exists only to be punished by a greater Evil.
Muzan was Dethroned by Nerose Satanael, who desired a paradise where there was no Evil. He created a world called Zoar, where everyone was a mindless drone, and there was no concept of "you and me" for the source of all sin, so stated Nerose, was individuality combined with ambition and the existence of the unknown. His reign would have been forever, had he not made a mistake in his ascension process. Through bug in his system, a inter-dimensional hole was created through which his nemesis appeared.
Mercurius appeared and dethroned Nerose, and he created a world which was called the Eternal Recurrence, this lead the the world resetting after His destruction, only to begin anew. No free will existed as everything was predestined.
He did not know what exactly happens as this particular information the Throne gives is contradictory, but he was eventually dethroned by Marguerite Breuil, who was eventually dethroned by Him the Sixth God.

Daphne's mind was blown by this information. She always hoped to achieve the highest state, such was her ambition. Yet that it could lead her to such a deadly fate, not in her wildest dreams she imagined that.

The God seemed to sense her discomfort as he immediately stated that, unless her desire changed drastically, her desire is a inwards one. As such, if she achieved Godhood, she would become a Transcendent God and free from that fate.

"Why did you tell me all this?" Daphne asked. "If I remember everything, I would have remembered this as well."

The God laughed and stated that this was the first time he explained all this to her. "My Law has some similarities with that of Mercurius, as recurrence and predestination are present in my law. That is, up till the point you gave that book to Harry Potter. After that, free will entered the world, and the future becomes wide open. In this cycle I deemed it necessary to do so."

"You want to achieve something in our current time don't you?" Daphne noted. "If so, why allow free will?"

"That's because, for what I desire the most, free will needs to exist. What I desire however, I'll keep to myself for now. Now however, it is time for us to part. Consolidate your Briah and utter the spell. You know the words."

Daphne closed her eyes and uttered the spell.
"Cold is the void where nothing exist, and cold is the world where his light doesn't reach.
Cold as well, is the untrodden snow ever fair
, rejoicing in his light. For the snow knows her beauty exists thanks to his light. And in her love, none of the light is consumed, but reflected pure and true.
So let me be pure as the snow, and reflect his light, yet let me be sharp as ice as well, for I am His blade!
Briah - Banríon sióg an sneachta gan choinne (Fairy Queen of the Untrodden Snow)."

As she opened her eyes, she was back in her room. She walked to the mirror which stood next to her bed. She saw herself just as she was before. Jet her beauty which was unrivaled before, now reached the Veela level, but without the allure and more cold. She also felt the cold which emanated from her magic and knew, she became one of the most powerful witches in England, if not the world. She closed eyes and released her Briah. When she opened her eyes again, she looked the same as before she reached her Briah. Yet, her eyes seemed to be more cold.

"I'm Daphne Greengrass, the Ice Queen. This is the 45386 cycle and I remember everything."

A/N: Whooph, a lot has happened in this chapter and I fear it has become a bit of an info dump. Yet this is necessary for Daphne's introduction to the story. Daphne has reached Briah, the youngest Wizard/Witch who has ever achieved this. Takes make her extremely powerful, but not overpowered, as her power lies in the reflection of the one spoken of in her Briah. Her Briah as such, is a growing one which has the potential to triumph over all Briah IF the one she reflects grows powerful enough. As she is now, she stronger than all Yetzirah Kabbalists, but weaker than most of not all Briah Kabbalists. Keep in mind though, that few Kabbalists reach Briah level. Also, reaching Briah gives a few more benefits. Her lifespan is being fixed on getting 1000 years old. And she is allowed to have more than one student (max 3.).
Before I forget, the Throne system comes from the "Shinza Bansho" series. This however, is not a crossover, as no characters, nor story lines (execpt the history) will be in my story.

I hope to see you in the next chapter.
