The three followed Vaggie back to the Hotel, which had stopped in the middle of its repairment. Charlie looked sad, seeing the very thing she poured her soul into being destroyed. And it wasn't even finished being repaired. Vaggie pushed open the doors before telling the three to get inside. They did and Charlie looked around.
"This is your hotel?" Danny asked, looking around.
"It's a nice place," Emily added.
"Thanks," Charlie said, wishing they could see it in its former glory.
"We need to talk, NOW!" Vaggie said, glaring at the three.
"Vaggie..." Charlie started.
"YOU BE QUEIT!" She shouted, shocking her.
Danny flew up to Vaggie, glaring at her. Vaggie glares back and Danny sighs.
"We're not the Three Lords. Stop treating us like them." He told her.
"And you don't think I know that?!" Vaggie shouted.
"Look, I get it, you're hurt. Jazz is the same way. But you try taking your anger out on us when we have NO clue of what we did!" Danny told her.
Vaggie growls before turning away. The three looked confused before Danny sighed.
"Looks like we're not getting answers out of her either," Danny said, looking at Charlie.
The she-demon was looking away, rubbing one of her arms as she looked upset. Emily noticed and hugged her friend. Danny walked up and placed a hand on her shoulder, smiling at her. Charlie smiles back, glad to see that not everyone is angry at her.
"Charlie?"
The three turned and saw a sinner that Charlie knew.
"Angel Dust?" She asked, seeing him.
"How are you so young? And why are you..." Angel Dust started.
"Well, I'm from the past. And it's a bit of a story." Charlie said, unsure.
"Charlie!"
Charlie was jumped and knocked to the floor by another member of the staff, Niffy.
"Nifty?" She said, seeing the smaller demon hug her.
"Welcome back, Your Highness."
"Husk?"
Chalire blinks, surprised to see her friends still at the hotel. They also didn't seem to change a lot.
"So, what brings you back?" Nifty asked.
"Well, I'm from the past. And as I told Angel, it's a bit of a story." Charlie said, getting up.
"Well, we're listening," Angel said.
Charlie went on to explain that in her timeline, she was getting ready to open the hotel when someone knocked her out. When she woke up, she met Emily and Danny. She went on to explain they discovered who the Three Lords were and how the plan was to cut off the Lord's source of power. However, they don't know why Jazz and Vaggie were so upset with them. They wanted to find some answers and came here first.
"Yeah, toots really can't let go of it," Angel said, sighing.
"Even after she married you," Husk added, drinking his bottle.
"Wait, we're married?" Charlie asked, surprised.
"Before you became the Lord of Hell, you and Vaggie married. It was a happy time in Hell." Nifty said, cheerfully.
"Wow," Charlie said, surprised.
She loved Vaggie, but she didn't think she would get married to her. Sure, the idea crossed her mind a few times, but she didn't think about seeking it out.
"Wait, where's Alastor?" Charlie said, noticing one staff member was missing.
"He's, no longer with us," Nifty said, sadly.
"What do you mean?" Charlie asked.
"Charlie, you killed him and all the Overlords," Husk said before sighing.
"Since I'm no longer an Overlord myself, you gave me a past." He added.
Charlie blinks. She killed the Overlords? Even Alastor?
"It was your way of freeing souls from them. You told Alastor that you left him for last because you wanted to reward him for everything he did to help, even if he didn't believe in your ideas." Angel said.
"You gave him a quick and painless death," Nifty added.
Charlie looked down as Danny and Emily looked at each other.
"Almost as bad as our future selves," Danny said, sighing.
"Are we really that bad?" Emily asked.
The staff looked away, not answering.
"This is turning out worse than I thought," Danny said, shaking his head.
Charlie looked away, still wondering how and why she would do this. Yes, she was hurt that no one believed in her ideas, but she never wanted to force anyone into doing them. And killing the Overlords didn't sound like something she would do.
"Look, we know you three have a lot more questions..." Angel started.
"And you will get them," Vaggie said, returning.
"When?" Danny asked, making Vaggie glare at him.
"When we say so," Vaggie said, making Angel shake his head.
"Vaggie..." Charlie tried to say.
"I don't want to talk to you!" Vaggie shouted before throwing three keys at them.
"You have your rooms. I'm going to let Jazz know that I have you three and you WILL stay in the hotel!" Vaggie said, walking away.
Charlie looks down, wondering what she did to Vaggie that made her so upset. Even Emily didn't like this. When Charlie and Vaggie visited Heaven, she not only saw how much they were friends, but how much they loved each other. Even if it was forbidden love, it was still love. Now, that love was replaced with Hate and Hurt.
"Come, I'll take you to your rooms," Husk said.
The three followed Husk as Emily decided to confront her fellow angel. Fallen or not.
Later,
Emily had found her way to the upper floors, due to the hotel not being finished with its repairs. She looked around before spotting Vaggie looking over the city.
"Vagatha." She said, making the fallen angel turn to her.
"What are you doing out of your room?" She asked, upset.
"I can sense that you're angry and hurt..." Emily started.
"No shit," Vaggie said, rolling her eyes.
Emily ignored that.
"I also know that you're taking your anger out on us for something we have no idea what we did. Mainly because whatever happened to you, hasn't happened in our timeline." She said.
Vaggie looks away. She knew what Emily was talking about. But it hurt too much to even talk about.
"I also know you didn't like me that much when I touched Charlie's hands," Emily added, surprising her.
"Charlie is my friend. Just like you. We were taken from our timeline and dropped in this one. We have no idea how we become the Three Lords. Well, we were told about Daniel's, but we know there's more." Emily said, making Vaggie sigh.
She understood what Emily was telling her, but she couldn't bring it up. Emily could see it before she sighed.
"Do you even care about Charlie?" Emily asked, shocking her.
"Of course I do! I'm married to her!" Vaggie shouted.
"Then why are you treating her and us like we're nothing more than strangers? Jazz is doing that, and that's what caused us to leave Earth in the first place." Emily said.
"Why should I tell you," Vaggie said, looking away.
"Vagatha..." Emily started.
"It's Vaggie! I lost that name when I was kicked out of heaven! I don't want to hear that name again! I'm not an angel anymore!" Vaggie shouted.
Emily sighs. It was clear to her that she was holding on to her hate and refuse to let it go.
"Then the plan has already failed," Emily said, turning away.
Vaggie looked shocked as she saw Emily retreat to the lower levels of the hotel. Vaggie sighs before looking back over the city.
"Sera said that." She said as tears fell from her eyes.
The next morning?
Danny woke up and stretched. He climbs out of bed before spotting a pair of clothes on the table. As well as a robe. It seems they knew of his morning routine. Danny was shown around the hotel last night and soon found the bathroom. He was about to open the door when he heard the sound of someone crying. He slowly opened the door and saw Charlie sitting in the corner.
"Charlie?"
She looked up and wiped her tears away.
"Morning, Danny. Need to use the bathroom? I'll be on my way..." Charlie said, getting up.
"Charlie, hold up," Danny said, stopping her.
He had her sit down on the toilet, after making sure the seats were down. He then carefully leans on the sink before looking at her.
"What's wrong?" He asked her.
"Nothing! Just so happy to see that Hell is finally..." Charlie started.
"Charlie..." Danny cut her off.
Charlie dropped her fake smile before looking away.
"I can't believe I would do all this. Yes, I don't like the Overlords, but I never thought about killing them. I'll fight them off, sure. But killing them?" She started.
"It's not just that, is it?" Danny asked.
Charlie pulled up her legs and wrapped her arms around them.
"I don't get why Vaggie is so mad at me. She won't talk to me. I'm so lost." She said, getting tears in her eyes.
"I understand. Jazz is acting the same way." Danny said, sighing.
Charlie buried her head into her knees as Danny sighed.
"Charlie, I know we only knew each other for a few days, and I'm surprised at how fast we became friends. But just know that what we learn here could help us in our timeline." He said, making her look up.
"How?" She asked.
"Well, believe it or not, Vlad forced me to help him by giving my friends the same illness he had. Forcing me to turn and prevent him from getting his powers. When I found out about the mistake I made, I went back and looked over what I missed. I then found the answer and told myself never to jump to the first thing I saw. Whatever we learned in this timeline, we can use these lessons to ensure it would never come to pass. Much like my other future." Danny told her.
"How? No one would tell us what happened." Charlie asked.
"As Clockwork would say, Time is always mysterious. It's never set in stone." Danny said, surprising her.
"When I beat my evil self from the other timeline with the same power he has, he was shocked to discover that I learned it 10 years ahead of time. Whatever Jazz and Vaggie are hiding, they do not see that they could prevent what would happen to us. If they keep this up, then we might indeed become the Three Lords, only the reason would be a lot different." Danny said.
Charlie thought about it. She could see that Danny was right. She had to talk to Vaggie, whether she wanted to or not.
"Thanks, Danny." Charlie smiles.
"Sure, that's what friends are for," Danny said, smiling back.
The two hugged before Charlie left, letting him take his shower. Charlie took a breath. It was time to find Vaggie and get the story of how she became the Lord of Hell and why she was so mad at her.
And done. Okay, this time I didn't mean to take a few days off. I was jumping around with ideas of what story I wanted to update and I couldn't make up my mind. Well, as you all just saw, I finally decided on one.
So, it turns out that the Hotel wasn't finished being repaired when the Charlie of Future became the Lord of Hell. I will explain why Charlie and Emily chose Lord over the others in a later chapter. However, it seems that Vaggie is not too willing to share what she knows with others because of how hurt she was by her Charlie. Emily tried to talk to her, but Vaggie refused to tell her anything. Danny found Charlie and he did his best to help her feel better. While it did help, who knows if it would work with everyone else? We're going to stick to Hell for a few more chapters, and then it's off to the Heavens.
