Author's Note: Kaguya and everything dealing the Otsutsuki clan just straight up don't exist in this story verse. Hagoromo is the only exception because he was the Sage of Six Path first. At that time he was just name with a legend but no one knew how much of the legend was true and how much of his story was not included in his legend. So in this story he is merely Hagoromo the Sage of Six Path and his actions have no connections to the Otsutsuki clan in this story.

"What does the word mutant mean to you, Logan" Mito asked him

Mutant

That was a word Logan had not expected to hear coming from anyone other than himself possibly ever again since arrived in what he assumed was either another world or another universe itself somehow. Here he was hearing it from someone that he had just met from Kushina's clan no less

"what does the word mean to you" he replied

"Judging from your reaction it is possible you know of this word far more than I ever had or possibly could even dream about knowing. In fact, I bet that you are a mutant of legend" Mito told him

"So what is this connection between mutants and the origin of charka" Logan asked

"They are the source of charka itself. Mutants or more so mutant power is the origin point of charka itself" she said

Mito then went on to explain that a legend of her clan that was taught to her was merely a fantasy at first but after meeting the man that would become the First Hokage. That is when she learned that it was far more than just a story. He had come across a mutant descendant before who had documents claiming to be from their mutant ancestor about what happened.

Logan doubted this but once he had heard the name he knew for sure that this story might be legit as strange things had happened before after all. The whole House of M scenario that led to him somehow ending up here was one of them. Also, the mutant ancestor was a member of the X-Men just like him and one he knew well enough to not question them. They were not the type of person who would make something up when it came to things this grand scale.

When the Scarlet Witch said No More Mutant that day what happened was that all mutants lost their powers across the world at once. Everyone on the planet was now just a normal human as there truly were no more mutants. However there were those that retained their powers and thus remained mutants however rather than just being lucky(or unlucky depending on the power itself) they were flung into the future, every single one of them. How far and where they landed was completely random and unknown other than it was the future.

Logan after hearing this was glad he was one of the lucky ones that retained his mutant power. Losing his power would result in his death after all it is his healing factor that is the only reason he could continue living with every bone in his body being laced in adamantium. Not only was the process itself deadly to anyone who did not have his level of healing factor at least. The metal itself is apparently causing it to constantly be active to combat the poisonous nature it has.

However, according to Mito was telling him the mutant power of everyone else did not just vanish into thin air it collected into one place and eventually formed what would become known as the ten tailed beast. A creature that was the literal embodiment of mutant power itself after being defeated by the Sage of Six Path. It was split into the nine tailed beast.

However, charka which came from the Sage of Six Path and their teaching was unknown to him just another way of spreading a very weak version of mutant power around the world. That bloodline limits and family based justus were also just weakened versions of mutant powers from Logan's era and time. Thus anyone with charka was just someone with charka they were no different than the humans of Logan's era. The mutants of this era would be those that have a power that can not be explained as a justu and/or bloodline limit.

The person that kidnapped Kushina and others through mind control was mostly a present day mutant. Kushina herself was probably a mutant as well along with Mito outing herself as one too. One with a similar power to affect minds though Kushina somehow developed an ability to block her control even though it came at the cost of her just freezing up like she had. Those of a lower power level probably would not even be able to affect her anymore.

"So you are telling me that this world is..." Logan said

"This is your future as this is what the world has become thanks to what the legends call M-Day," Mito told him

Logan then learned that he was not on another world nor in another universe but instead was on Earth. A drastically different Earth in the distant future at that. All the mutants that did not lose their powers on this M-Day as Mito's legends call but Logan is just history. They were flung into the future where they landed who knows where or when. What was even more dangerous was that he did not who retained their powers and who lost them as he was told just how different mutants of his era were compared to those of this one. Then on top of that, some were not mutants but still had superpowers anyway. Their bloodlines still existed it seemed thus it was impossible to tell if someone had say Spiderman as their very distant ancestor or a mutant with similar abilities. This was because of how blurred the line between mutants and mere super powered humans was now.

Logan looked at Kushina who was revealed to be a mutant of this modern day he found himself in. Her power was to make the links of her chain ability explode like fireworks. Kushina's ancestor could make firework like explosions...who did he know that had a mutant ability like that?
