"Angel, it's been nearly two weeks since I got back and I have yet to see you helping anyone." Cordelia informed him. "At what point are you going to start trying to water that tiny seed that might eventually make you a good person?"
"You've had three visions. I helped out with two of them! You and Gunn had the third one taken care of before I even got there. Doesn't that count?"
"You don't know how to do it, do you? Being a good person isn't checking off a to do list or helping just when people can see you helping, you know."
"Then why are you complaining about not seeing me help people?"
"Because when I don't have a vision, you spend all of your time brooding. You never go anywhere. Which means you're not at least trying to help someone or do something that could be considered good. The only time you do anything, is when you think people are watching. Xander's right, you like the accolades. You need to want to be a good person, then do good things without hoping for a reward. It isn't like you're going to get that Shanshu thing anyway."
"I'll figure something out."
"You do that. Just stop with the broody statue act, okay? It's very creepy."
"She's right about that." Gunn agreed as he cleaned his favorite hubcap ax. "Especially since you're so still while you're doing it."
"Why are you cleaning your ax?" Angel asked. "Cordelia hasn't had a vision in a couple of days."
"Yeah, but I went to see my buds and we cleaned out a nest while I was there. Rondel stinks at strategy and planning. Great at overwatch, though. Anyway, I'm done and I'm taking Fred to a movie. See you guys later."
"Are you planning to talk to Wesley any time soon? He is ours and your boss, after all."
"He kidnapped Connor and Holtz took him to Qortoth. I lost my son because of Wesley."
"No, you lost your son because of the thing possessing me. Wesley translated a prophecy from the scroll you were tricked into stealing that said you would kill Connor and given that you were being poisoned by Wolfram and Hart and he was smelling like food to you, Wesley did the right thing. He put Connor's welfare, his life, first. That's way more important then anything else, Angel. That Holtz was also being manipulated and was waiting for the opportunity to grab Connor isn't Wesley's fault. Wesley nearly died trying to protect Connor. And you, Fred and Gunn refused to listen to him or to help him and treated him like crap. He saved you from the bottom of the ocean where Connor dumped you. What Holtz did to Connor is not Wesley's fault, he's just the only one you can aim all of your anger at. Granted, I don't like how he handed it, he should have called me or got Gunn and Fred to help him, but that doesn't change the fact that he didn't take Connor to hurt you, he took him in order to try to protect him."
"From me! He thought he had to protect him from me! He's my son, I'd never hurt him!"
"And you didn't think you'd hurt Doyle and me either, until that actress drugged you and made you think you were Angelus. Poisoning and drugging isn't that different, Angel. He couldn't take the risk, not with Connor's life. You should be grateful he wanted and tried to protect Connor. And stop putting everything else that happened after that on him."
"I don't know if I can. I hate him right now."
"No, you hate what happened to Connor. You hate the fact that we haven't been able to find him since mine and Xander's dups were here. If Xander and Logan are right, then there a chance he's being manipulated into meeting and eventually impregnating another mutant like me to make a host for that thing. It would be nice if I could have a vision telling us where he is or if Lorne could get a vision off someone singing for him, but it hasn't happened. Hopefully he'll come home once he's had a chance to deal with everything and before he gets into trouble."
"I honestly don't know if I can forgive him, Cordelia."
"And do you think you Buffy would be able to forgive you she ever finds out the truth about how you stalked her and didn't help when she needed you?"
"Probably not. Maybe, she does loves me. I don't love Wesley."
"Think about what I said, Angel. He really was trying to protect Connor, not hurt you. Circumstances were reversed, wouldn't you have tried to protect his child? You would if you were a good man and put the child's welfare first."
"I'll think about it, okay!"
"Yeah, you do that Mr. Broody Statue Man, I'm going home and call Xander. It's my turn. See you tomorrow, unless I get a vision."
