Chapter 39 Invasion
In a great dark room full of thousands of chains and runes holding down three gods of war, all hanged in front of Lorgar. These were great generals and daughters of the Emperor, now we're imprisoned. While a row of heavy thick bars blocked their freedom. In Lorgar's hands was a large basket woven with dried brown sticks.
She could see the three guilty matriarchs staring at her with hateful glares. Lorgar was unfazed by those faces and pulled a green fruit from her basket and bit into it. Lorgar sat quietly, calmly eating and showing just how powerless the imprisoned were. Icarion spat on the ground trying to hit Lorgar but the rude jester fell short, missing Lorgar. She glanced at the wet floor and raised an eyebrow.
"You're getting rusty with your shots," Lorgar admitted.
Malayalam could see no hatred or disgust in Lorgar's face. There was only a calm behind her luxurious eyes.
"I wish to see how you're doing, unfortunately, the reunion didn't go out as planned. However, you can say it was a blessing that the wolf wasn't there," Lorgar jokes. Icarion rolled her eyes and glanced to her right seeing Alpharius tucked away in the corner of the cell.
"Why is she here?" She asked. Alpharius curled up further into a ball. She hadn't taken her failure to assassinate Issei lightly. Right now a storm of negative emotions flooded her mind saying that she failed her father, the imperium, and mankind itself. Alpharius thought the universe would burn because of her lack of dedication to her cause. While the betrayal of her other half stings her very soul.
"She is there because she tried to kill Issei," Lorgar said with venomous disgust. Malayalam and Icarion glanced at Alpharius with surprise that she was tired.
"You mean that innocent human you were talking about, You tried to kill him," Malayalam said. Icarion shook with fear at the mention of his name. He was no regular human, but a god of shadow.
"Don't call him innocent Malayalam! he's a powerful being of shadow that brought me to my knees in fear, I say that boy is a monster," Icarion said in fear. She crosses her arms and holds her gaze on the floor.
Lorgar could see the fear in her in Icarion's eyes. Shaking her head and disappointment at her sister's reaction. She did hear about Issei ending the fight but did not blame her beloved for the victory.
"I deeply apologize for my love treatment towards you, but you did inflict terrible visions upon his sacred harem," Lorgar said. Malayalam gave a soft smile.
The idea of finding love for themselves sounded amazing and went against their father's design, something she approved of. Icarion figured out that that boy had some of her sisters wrapped around his finger. It puzzled her how he was able to do it yet anything to sway the loyalty of the emperor was quite amusing.
"That's beautiful I could tell you are much happier with him," Malayalam said with a gleeful Joy. "I know you are a part of it and I can tell that you're betrothed to him,"
'Nothing like that, for him to ask marriage upon me, oh gosh," Lorgar blushed and smiled at the proclamation. She was officially a part of the harem, but she did request and desire someone one on one time with her hunky man.
"Oh you know me too well, he's just the guy of my dreams," Lorgar said with a starstruck face. Malayalam may have tried to end her sister's life, but glad to know that she had one outside of war for her father.
Alpharius was furious, and ran towards the bars, even though the chains wrapped around her tightened around her neck and arms. She was like a mad dog trying to bite at her prey.
"His love is vile and blasphemous," Alpharius said with a huge amount of disgust. Lorgar was about to retort to the angry comment. When someone spoke first.
"It's hot as fuck though," Everyone in the room, paused at the comment that they heard. Lorgar turned to the corner of the room seeing Omegon walk out from the shadows.
"Sorry to interrupt, but it is true," Omegon said and sat by Lorgar's side. "Forgive my intrusions I just couldn't stand all this unnecessary slander from my other half, things always tend to get out of hand with her,"
"Oh I don't mind, after all, it's clear that you want to be in his favor don't you," Lorgar teased.
"Am I that easy to read," Omegon said in a sassy manner.
"Silence you filthy wrench!" Alpharius yelled in hatred. Malayalam wonders about the reason for the attempted murder.
"Why are you so afraid of this boy?" Malayalam asked.
"Is it obvious, she dwelled into the future, and saw something she didn't like an outcome that affected her," Icarion said then sat down on the stone floor with anger. "Suffer you pathetic dog for that future will come upon you,"
Malayalam and Icarion then realize that there were two Alpharius in the room. They both glanced at each other trying to see if the other was suffering from hallucinations. However, they could tell they were healthy and clear of any mental problems. Which is debatably in this situation. The two had developed a close bond over their shared exile on the same planet. Finding each other's company to be a blessing. However, they still had to face the topic back on hand.
"WHY ARE THEIR TWO OF YOU!" They screamed in unison.
Lorgar gave a silly smile at her sister's reaction, while Omegon let out a laugh.
"It's a long story but the Alpha Legion doesn't have one matriarch, but two. Father wanted to keep this secret from all the family, I do apologize for any confusion," Omegon said.
"Is that any surprise from my father is a vault of secrets and misfortune," Icarion said. Then she glared at Lorgar. "I'm guessing you're going to spread the glorious word of our father saying he will forgive us, that we are worthy of his love again,"
"No, he's power power-hungry madman who will say anything I need to achieve his goals," Lorgar flatly said. Malayalam smiled knowing ahead of the people in the room that Lorgar was now her own person and not a mindless general to the emperor. Icarion was at a loss for words.
"Hey, our father isn't perfect," Alpharius admitted.
"Yet the false imitation he puts up costs us greatly to suffer," Malayalam said. Lorgar still wanted to get to the point of her conversion.
"I wish to ask you, to please give Issei a second chance, not our father only Issei," Lorgar asked humbly. Malayalam gave a silent nod.
"I hold no ill will towards your companion," Malayalam said calmly. Alpharius and Icarion sulked in frustration. Lorgar held a smirk and showed her hand to the angered matriarch. Omegon was deeply disappointed in her other half and how one-sided she acted. She concentrated deeply and summoned a fluffy white cloud in her hand.
"Icarion. Alpharius, do you want to know something, if I hadn't believed in Issei? I would surely have been the same zealous priest. Lost in her false grandeur," Lorgar said. Icarion's jaw dropped in shock at how her sister had changed. However, that did not change anything about her current regard for Issei. Though she couldn't argue how powerful the boy was.
She would have rather fought Russ and Horus again than go against that shadow monarch. That was the only title worthy of calling such a powerful foe.
"Just keep your pet away from me," Icarion said. Then without warning a swift strong grip tightened around her neck. She was slammed to the bar as the chains that held her body began to strangle her whole body.
Then two bright suns that were Lorgar's eyes shone in hot burning light. Icarion for a brief moment, could see her father's presence in Lorgar.
"If you ever disrespect his name in front of me again, I will gladly remove your tongue," Lorgar said, pushing Icarion back to the floor. The god of light quickly returned to her normal, matriarch appearance. She took a deep sigh and held out her basket.
"But I do not come here to start strife. I come here and hope to make allies," Lorgar said.
"Fruit anyone," Omegon offered.
Issei stood completely flabbergasted at the alien that was refusing to leave. Eldrad held a stern look stuck at the young teen.
"Issei it is of great importance that I inform you of the great wave of destiny that has been flung toward you, and my people," Eldrad said.
"Okay you're people literally tried kidnapping me and invading my mind, please forgive me when I say, I'm not a fan of you guys," Issei said in irritation.
"Do not hold grudges in the past, my friend, they wreck and destroy your very future," The Farseer disputed.
"This happened like two hours ago," Issei pointed out. Eldrad was perplexed and for the first time in centuries scratched his chin in defeat.
"Hm, as you humans put it. You got me there," Eldrad admitted. The young teen face-palmed himself and groaned in anger. Issei quickly tried to quell his anger knowing that he should hear hum out.
"You said that Eldar dressed as a clown, I believe you are speaking of a Harlequin, I apologize but they are a separate faction that does not obey any commands from us higher above," Eldrad said. Issei began to think about what he heard. If this person wasn't with his kidnapper. Then who was he? Then Vulkan words dawned on him.
"Wait a minute, you dark eldar aren't you!" Issei called out.
"No wait please don't mistake me for them! I am from a higher world. We separated ourselves from our distant debauchery brothers a long time ago," Eldar said, trying to clear up the misunderstanding. "I am what is known as craft world elder, we live in a giant grand city to keep ourselves safe."
"Wait, there are three types of eldar factions?" Issei asked.
"Well technically there are four, but that doesn't matter, I don't bring you any harm, let me explain," Eldrad said. Issei raised an eyebrow at the alien. The Farseer was extremely careful in handling the situation; it took him almost all of his willpower to swallow his great pride to make this lesser creature bow to him. there was a time and place for everything right now; he needed to show humility.
"My people suffer greatly, I have had a vision showing that in some capacity you are key to freeing my people from the prince of pleasure," Eldrad said in a stern voice
"Who's the prince of pleasure? Wait hold on, does this have something to do with the warp?" Issei asked. Eldrad nodded it appeared he was more knowledgeable than he gave credit for.
"My people greatly suffer from this monster, you see when we pass on, our souls do not find eternal peace but instead our souls are feasted upon," Eldrad said. "We used to rule the universe, peaceful time, it was our fault that we fell from grace. You see when we were unchallenged many of us began to turn into monsters seeking our next high. it was in those times of lost pleasure. we made a god to feast on our souls. All I ask is if you can aid us to save my people."
The Farseer could see that this human was trying to get him out of the house, Yet Issei was taking his words to heart. He could see the sympathy in his eyes. Eldrad could feel that determined aid wanting to assist him but something was holding Issei back.
"His other duties to these people must be holding him back," Eldrad thought.
"He's not here to hurt you, kid, trust me, I would know," Que said in Issei's mind.
"So why all this talk of fate and destiny, and me saving his race?" Issei asked.
"I share a certain interest, in one of their deities, look. her name is Isha, the goddess of the harvest. She is one of the most beautiful creatures to ever live, and hair does that thing when it flows in the wind. She is currently trapped by another chaos god but if she were free then the Eldar might have a chance to come back. They did it to themselves but they still need help," Que said letting Issei understand better.
"I understand but I have to get him out of the house or else the others are going to kill!" Issei thought. Then a realization hit him. "Hey, do you like this Isha chick?"
"What no it's just you know she's great, look It doesn't matter, " Que said awkwardly. Issei had never heard of the god of darkness being so shy about anything.
"Is everything alright, you sound fluttered?" Issei asked.
"It's nothing I just greatly admired her, anyway now don't worry about this prince of pleasure or any of these chaos gods they sort of don't matter, because if they come close to me. I don't mean this lightly, I will whop their asses," Que said. The young teen quickly snapped out of his inner conversation. When Eldrad was looking at him seeing he was being quiet.
"Look I want to help but I have to get me and my friends off the planet and I mean all of us," Issei said.
"It appears he has grown a deep attachment to these warriors if only he knew of the horrors each one brought," Eldrad thought. Then an idea popped into his mind.
"If you are worried about transportation, my ships can assist you with that," Eldrad offered.
"I know this sounds crazy but that's not my decision to make, you have to ask all of them. Also, I'm pretty sure they don't have any good blood between you," Issei pointed out. He wasn't trying to be rude, but he clearly couldn't just decide on their back. He wouldn't betray the matriarch's trust like that.
"Fine, I understand but I will not be so easily swayed away, your fate holds greater resolve than you can ever imagine," Eldrad said. Then he pulled something from his black garments. A small black device Issei took it in his hand.
"However, if you ever find yourself in peril, click the button on that device on the side, my force will be alerted, and only you will be escorted to safety, use it wisely," Eldrad said in a prideful manner. Issei took it and gave a tired sigh.
"Oh, geez, an escape button for only me, how thoughtful," He said sarcastically. Then an idea popped up in his mind. He could give this to Perturabo to send a more powerful single to the imperium. Eldrad bowed and was about to leave.
"He is strange, but yet I can feel he's extremely powerful," Eldrad thought. Before he could take a step outside. Issei called out to him.
"Hey, before he goes give him this," Que said.
"Wait!" Issei truly felt bad for the species' situation. Thankfully, he always had his shadow to give him a good idea.
Eldrad turned around to see Issei walking toward him, he held out his hand. The Farseer wonders what this simple hand gesture means. Then a black bulb appeared in the palm of the young teen's hand and blossomed into an ebony flower.
The Farseer took the flower from his hand and could feel something special about it, that it gave off a feeling of shade and protection. In some aspects, he could feel life coming from it.
"Here a friend said you might need that," Issei said. Eldrad took it into his hand and marveled at it. He couldn't feel any warp within it. The flower was pure in the form of darkness and it was beautiful. The Eldrad glanced at the human and said something that no eldar had ever said to a human.
"Thank you, for this gesture," Eldrad said. Issei was happy to make an ally. Thought of course he would tell the other about this encounter. Unfortunately, he did have one thing to ask.
"Wait before you leave I have to ask a question,"
Eldrad was aesthetic, the human was finally asking his superior mind for knowledge. What question would he ask?
"Say what's on your mind," Eldrad inquired of Issei.
"What does monkeigh mean?" Issei asked. The Farseer rubbed his face in annoyance. Out of all the things he could have asked, it had to be that one.
"It is an insult to humans especially, Monkeigh was originally a warlike race, we terminated them a long time ago. Yet your species reminds us of them," Eldrad said. Now that Issei knew she slowly shocked his head at the slur.
"I don't like that, I've never been truly offended but now I am," Issei said. The young teen quickly let out a laugh. "This crazy I'm talking to a real alien, an elf alien."
Eldrad paused and glared at Issei.
"What did you just say?" He asked in aggression. Issei could hear the passive, aggressive tone.
"Uh elf alien," Issei repeated innocently, not sure if he had said the wrong thing. Eldrad frowned deeply at the comment and had to think about what he just heard.
"I don't like that," Eldrad said as he began to walk away from the fortress with a displeasing face, out of all the names he had been called that one hit him through his thick skin. Issei watched the alien suddenly disappear in a flash of quiet light.
Issei gave a soft laugh seeing how mad the alien was.
"Uh guess I touched a nerve," Issei said. "And I'm not alone in the room am I,"
"Nope,"
Issei spun around to see Angron and Mortarion standing there completely unnoticed by Eldrad. Angron walked forward, the teen smiled and tossed over the strange alien communicator.
Angron held it in her hand and smiled.
"So was our friend lying through his teeth?" Issei asked. Angron smirked as she was able to read the eldar like an open book with her powers.
"No he was truly trying to sway you to his side, known nefarious plans, but it seemed more out of desperation, I could feel him coming a mile away," Angron said. Mortarion glanced at the device in the matriarch's hand.
"I'm sure Perturabo is more than capable of handling this device," She said. Then her eyes went to Issei, seeing the confusion as to why she was there.
"After that attempted kidnapping, I couldn't let you go out of my sight so I decided to silently watch you," Mortarion said in assuming a stance. Issei gave a silly smile.
"Wow I get to be stocked by a beautiful girl all day, how will I ever live," Issei jokes. Mortarion suspiciously narrowed her eyes.
"Your nonchalant, humorous attitude concerns me. I must now protect you more," She said in a stern voice. Issei slapped his forehead. Knowing this was going to be a long day. They walked to the Queen of Iron Chamber to lend a hand in rescue of the this world. While walking the young teen couldn't help but have a smirk.
"You like Isha, don't you?" Issei thought in a teasing manner.
"Shut up!" Que said embarrassed and panicked.
Eldrad strolled through the thick woods and marveled at the flower. He could feel a strange energy emanating off its delicate petals. Though he did wonder what this was possible for, it was clear as day that this wasn't some gift plant. This was a remarkable tool given to him by being beyond his comprehension.
Eldrad knew there or something in that baby room with them, watching them, studying him, and forming every answer to the teenager he questioned. unintentionally shuttering at the idea of being watched by something more powerful than him. Sacred him to make him weary of his surroundings.
"I wonder how he was able to keep those two warriors that spied on us, they probably thought Issei was more dangerous. Hmph what strange times we live in," Eldrad pondered while he still held onto the flower. He stopped when he heard a sound of twig snapping. The farseer stopped moving and took a tired sigh. That sound was made on purpose to catch his attention.
He could feel a familiar presence around him. Eldrad turned around to face the direction of where the sound came from but knew that the person who did this was right behind him.
"Jain Zar we have no time for games," Eldrad called out into the open. In a blur, a howling banshee descends downward.
"Why didn't you take the boy then and there, he's just a human," Jain Zar asked.
"We didn't come here to kidnap some human, I had to see for myself what this was, and my hunches were true this human is more than powerful, but how does that old human saying go? We must lead with the carrot, not the stick," Eldrad said. Jain Zar's face was hidden behind a mask yet the Farseer could see how irritated Jain Zar was.
"We should take him now and be done with this!" She said in an outrage. Eldrad didn't flinch or raise his voice. He walked past the howling banshee until he was past her and ceased in his path.
"If you want to storm blindly into a building full of hungry wolves and try to steal their mate, I welcome you to try," Eldrad warned. "It's why I did the polite thing and knocked on the door,"
Jain growled in anger and walked away from the fortress by Eldrad.
"Besides, sooner or later that boy will come around, or whatever that dwells within his soul," Eldrad said.
Meanwhile, elsewhere in the red-hot desert sands, the work boss, the Ork warband, kept marching forward. Pass the intense heat and rough sand. The Orks all had tired faces. Their war boss was leading the long match, each step carved a path in the sands.
The Nobz were dragging their large feet through the sands. It had been days without a good old-fashioned fight. Some of Gretchen even started to fight each other.
"No, this is my sand pile!" One of them yelled out.
"No, it's my sand!" The other Gretchen said. The large thud of the footsteps approaches the two.
"Oi, what's all this racket!" A big Nob yelled. The two lesser orks backed away from each other in a hurry. One of them bowed to him.
"Sorry Badcrack," The lower Gretchen said. Then in a swift motion was smashed by Badcrack's foot. The Ork growled in anger and wiped the mess from his boot. Badcrack was the second in command to these five thousand Ork warbands. He was clever ork and never took any attitude from anybody. Yet he understood the sheer board from his brethren.
The need to fight and cause a giant wah! They headed to this world, because of a strange signal that reached across the Milky Way galaxy. Some of the boys thought it was the emperor who sent out the signal. It made sense, he was the biggest human. However, the wisest amongst them knew better. Whatever sent that single was asking for a fight and it was much larger than the emperor.
Badcrack could see his war boss was on the trail to something grand. All the other bosses laughed at Bigclompa. Even the biggest of all of them, the one known as the beast, scoffed at the idea. In his own words, the beast declared that this wild goose chase toward the shadow signal was a waste of material and soldiers.
The Bigclompa was laughed out of the war council that day, but his loyal commander wanted to join in this self-Wa!
Bigcrack marched forward so that he was side by side with his boss.
"How goes the boys?" Bigclompa asked.
"Cranky and ready to kill each other," His subordinate said. Bigclompa smiled, showing his sharp jagged teeth.
"Good cranky, eager Ork Ina fight are better at fighting at war!" He smiled. Then he stopped and glared ahead seeing that kilometers away the sands had ended and grasslands of blue began.
"What a strange world, let's just hope it's more fighting, than just a flat planet, I do got say it could use a bit more green," The war boss said in malicious joy, knowing that this world would no longer look so soft in his eyes. He could already imagine it, this world, scorched and footprints, tire marks and fire.
"Oi, what a wonderful world," Gretchen thought.
Then without warning a blast of green shot right toward Bigclompa. The Ork war boss was fast enough to react and grabbed a nearby Gretchen and used its body to block the shot.
Gretchen dissolved into a neon green dust. That blew in the wind. All of them smiled and held their choppers high in the air. Bigclompa spun around to see Ork Wagh!
"Look like we've got some sneaky bois ahead, who wants to crump!" He shouted to the crowd. All of the Nobz yelled in excitement and charged wildly toward where the laser fire came from. They all charged wildly until a giant war cry drowned out the surrounding area.
"War shall fall on this planet and I will be the biggest Ork in the galaxy!"
At an impossible distance, on top of the world tree was a very patient Death Mark. Who held a giant dematerializing gun. It was specially made for its very long stock and box-like scope. The Death Mark looked at the Ork through his scope seeing they were completely going the wrong way. If this metal being could smirk it would.
"Stupid green skins,"
The Death Mark clicked a green button on the side of the head.
"My lord, the green skin menace, is subdued for now," He said with a cold tactical voice.
"Thank you for the update. I can't wait to see how my new puppet handles when I connect the strings,"
