After that, Senku improved in leaps and bounds. With his newfound magic powers, he could skip the prep time and make whatever came to mind.
He just needed ingredients, and put them in a pile, transmuting them into the parts he needed. But he couldn't do that for the miracle fluid.
So it was back to trial and error. Kuri was in on it, her sister had been a wonderful chemist, and she herself knew quite a bit about chemicals.
Kuri was there when Senku despaired about ever saving Taiju.
"I can't do this without you Taiju! Please wake up!"
Kuri embraced him. "It's going to be alright. We'll never give up. Somehow, magic and science will find a way."
Later she sat at the desk, muttering, "…an incantation? Some kind of transformation…but it's not a change of form, it's mutable, so I would try transmutation if it wasn't so incredibly dangerous. What of transubstantiation…dissolving into dust or light, and resolidifying…or orbing them. Perhaps traveling through dimensions would bring about molecular chang— ah! Senku!"
Kuri snapped to attention. Senku was staring at her in a peculiar way, like a starving man presented with dinner.
"I…I wanted to tell you that Taiju is awake and he's on the way here." Senku said in a voice sharp with shock.
Kuri stood and brushed off her pink apron. "You go greet him. I'll expand our hovel."
"Let the object of objection become but a dream as
I cause the scene to be redeemed!"
Senku would never get tired of seeing her magic at work, building a new wing on the hut in an instant. Her magic was a great force of imagination. It got him excited!
Senku could admit there was a feeling of loss of their alone time; but Taiju would only improve their way of life and ease some of the burden off her.
"Hey! Senkuuuu!" Taiju waved as he approached.
"Get over here ya big oaf!"
