Deku gazed at his hands in shock. "What the…?"
"Now you need to be careful." Kuri said, acting like this happened all the time (it did). "Just opening a door, you could shatter it. It's a delicate touch. I'm gonna help you. Because I cast the spell you can't hurt me with it."
"A-are you sure?" Deku was still studying his hands.
"Y-yeah." Kuri blushed. "I wanna see you be a hero."
Deku, finally taking it all in, smiled. "Then let's go!"
She took his hand in his, and he was pleased to see that his grip didn't hurt her; though he could feel himself crushing her hand.
"See your already good at it." Kuri reassured him, squeezing his hand.
"I don't know about that…but I'm trying to be gentle…"
The two headed out of the Wishing Hut.
The priestess didn't know what to make of the budding hero. "Can I call you Zu?"
Deku had never gotten a nickname from a girl before! "Y-yes! You can!"
"Ok Zu. Let's get going." The priestess strode off like she was in her own backyard (technically she was)
Deku followed her towards a commotion. He stopped, freezing. It was the Slime Villain. It was on the loose; and it was all because he had disturbed the hero All Might.
Deku clenched his fist. He wasn't spineless and weak anymore. He was Invincible Deku and he was going to prove it.
Before the priestess could stop him; Deku lunged into battle. Unbeknownst to him, the priestess tried to rush to his aid, only to collapse due to her quirk limit. She could aid him no further than this.
Deku leaped into the slime, shoving it aside with ease and yanking Bakugo out onto the ground. Confident, he punched into the core of the villain, blowing the slime from the inside with just his punch.
The priestess watched in awe. He didn't need her help after all!
Kuri struggled to her feet dizzily as All Might came to congratulate the young hero; tho his action had been illegal, this was still a promising start to his hero career.
Kuri stood, looking back, smiling weakly. "I gotta get back…" she whispered. "but for once I got to see the fruit of my labor… good luck, Deku, the future worlds greatest hero…"
The priestess stumbled back to the shack, glad for a job well done.
But unfortunately, Deku looked back.
