Hello Peeps!

Okay so I've had some trouble with posting this chapter, still new to the site so I apologise if it gave anyone a weird update notice without the chapter.

I've been trying out new word layouts to space up my paragraphs and make it easier to read , lemme know what ou guys think!

I plan to span out the story in arcs, the first one will be a flashback arc to show what all Theo has done to prepare for his unique journey and will also give a little bit of an idea about how i want his journey to progress, I'm open to suggestions if you have any good ones! otherwise please enjoy and leave a review if yo feel like it!

Logical Thinking Does Work

Arc 1 - Chapter 1: The Beginning

Viridian City 7 years ago, The orphanage:

The region of Kanto had gone through much strife in the last half century, having finished a war of devastating proportions with their neighbouring region of Johto, there was much work to be done and the Pokemon League stepped up to the task. although the champion may have changed over these 5 decades, their task remained the same, the betterment of the region and ensuring that the peace between the once bitter rival regions lasts.

One major problem that both regions faced was the sad decrease in population size, there simply weren't any young men and women left to carry on the more advanced jobs in the world. to combat this the league launched a massive campaign to help trainers in the hopes that more young people would set out to learn the skillsets they would need for their future, although there was a deeper hope in this campaign and that was to encourage young people to 'spread the love' as it were.

The initiative worked out rather too well some might say which led to a huge increase in population size and sadly enough in single parents or even orphans. to combat that problem the League pooled a significant amount of their resources in different benefits for single-parent households and even refurbished and increased the amount of orphanages in the regions. which leads us to Viridian City.

If one were to enter the vibrant city of Viridian, the first word you would think of is peaceful, I mean for a place that claims itself a city, it's mainly made up of farmers which gives it a very rural vibe, but the people of Viridian wouldn't have it any other way. It's always been quieter than a traditional city, which only adds to the atmosphere of peace that hangs around the place.

within we can find a building situated on a small hill not too far from the market, this building looks newer compared to the other buildings having been renovated in the last decade.

This building is the Viridian City orphanage and at the back of the orphanage, you can hear and see a group of children running, laughing and having fun on this sunny day.

sitting on a bench, under the shade of a tree we can find our young Theo, having just celebrated his 7th birthday this month. he sits there and simply contemplates life and its many mysteries, wondering many things that a 7-year-old has no business wondering about really.

Theo inner monologue:

Memories are fascinating. this is a fact, because when you think about it the human mind has kept a visual log of everything that has happened to you in chronological order. yes you don't always remember everything and the more times you remember a particular event, you are in actuality remembering the last memory of that event instead of the original leading to the memory degrading and sometimes even changing over time.

Anyway coming back to my point, memories are fascinating, especially the first memory, I mean just think back to your first memory, it could be the first time you saw something amazing like your parent's Pokemon, it could be something mundane yet still powerful like recognising your family home for the first time. the problem for me was that my first memory went further than that, it wasn't recognising a home or seeing an amazing Pokemon for the first time,

my first memory was of a different world.

I remembered a world that didn't have any Pokemon, a world of science and higher studies, a world of love and war and a world that was paradoxically more advanced and less advanced compared to my Pokemon world. there was no capsule tech or any kind of space expansion tech, but there were amazing high rises that dotted the city skyline looking almost like a staircase towards the skies above.

There were no creatures that could harness the power of nature to wreak havoc, yet they still managed to create weapons of mass destruction. perhaps most bizarre though was the fact that they knew more about my current Pokemon world than we did, somehow creating children's games that showcased all the wonders that we had to offer, making an entire franchise of this world and telling the stories of different countries and continents that we hadn't established connections with yet.

and I remembered it all.

So what does that make me? a reincarnator? a spirit inheritor or just a freak of nature that went crazy at a young age? no, what that made me was someone who knew what was coming and could plan out my future in more detail than even some of the world-recognised psychics this world boasted. I knew of hidden locations that held some of the most reclusive Pokemon, forgotten evolutions that could be brought back or even moves that were yet to be created! I had all the answers for the test of life!

But what do I want to do with those answers?

I have to ask myself the question that all kids get asked when young, no matter what world they live in, what do I want to be when I grow up? do I want to be a Pokemon Trainer? a Pokemon Coordinator? or perhaps a scientist so that I can try and bring some of the technological marvels from the old world to this one? either way, the question still stands;

What do I want to become when I grow up?

Out of everything that I can remember from the Pokemon franchise, what stands out the most? what was the point of the series? I mean the main character, Ash Ketchum, wanted to become a Pokemon master but what does that even mean? what makes someone a master of Pokemon? for Ash it was to become the World Pokemon Champion after beating out all the other champions from different regions, but I still think a lot of that was due to plot armor more than skill. don't misunderstand, Ash was very talented but to beat the likes of Lance, Steven and CYNTHIA? with a team, he only just caught in the last season? not even bringing back some old favourites like Infernape or Sceptile? ridiculous.

It was at this point that a group of children ran over to use the bench in their game, it seemed they were roleplaying as different people and Pokemon and the commotion caused Theo to momentarily look over to them when one of the boys with the group jumped up on the bench shouted out "RAWR! I'm the Pokemon Champion Lance! How dare you children challenge me and my super awesome DRAGONITE!" the children squealed and ran off as the boy jumped off and chased them with his hands in the air.

Theo shook his head at the irony of the game, Dragonite is the Pseudo Legendary for the Kanto and Johto regions, the big bad of all the other Pokemon if you will and it makes sense considering it's a Dragon type, the type thought by many to be the strongest type and it did show in all the Pokemon of that type having draconic tendencies in being extra aggressive or more powerful overall physically.

The irony came in that Dragonite, despite being a dragon type had none of the predisposed aggression of their type, they were almost too friendly even. if I were to compare it to any kind of animal from the old world the closest would be a Panda, cute and cuddly to look at and can even act super friendly with humans but never forget that at the end of the day, Pandas are still bears. In the same way, a Dragonite may look and act friendly and cute but at the end of the day it is still a dragon-type Pokemon and they showcase this through their overwhelming firepower and physical might.

The only reason that more people don't have a Dragonite is their scarcity really, although I did remember an episode from the franchise that showcased a whole island of them out at sea and I roughly know where to look for it so I could potentially get one if I was dedicated enough. The only other person that I know who had one in this region other than Pokemon Champion Lance was Professor Oak...

Honestly, I could hit myself, of course, that would be the answer, Professor Oak is known as the Professor due to his immense knowledge of Pokemon, I recall from the games that he was also the Champion of the Kanto Region and the one to end the War before he gave up his seat and became the Professor of Pallet town. If anyone could be called a Pokemon Master then it would have to be him.

But is that really what I want? I'm in a world of unlimited potential and I'm following a path that has been walked by anyone and everyone. No, I don't think so, instead I'd rather do something that has never before been done, I will walk a path that has never been done before, a path that will make me a myth that could stand even with the Legendaries of this world. Yes, I will become someone who faces a Legendary and makes it blink first.

But to be able to even start on that journey I need to be physically capable, I need to become someone who can face any challenge head on knowing that my body will never falter, what I need to do is set up a plan and a routine to build up my body to be as perfect as I can get it.

Third Person POV:

Having decided on a course of action Theo checks with the matron of the orphanage and heads off to the one place he knows has a computer he can use to look up everything he needs to make his plan work. it took him only 5 minutes to make his way down the hill that the orphanage is situated on and near the white and red coloured building in the centre of town, he walked up to the automatic doors and entered the Pokemon centre. he walked up to the counter and rang the bell on the desk twice, after which he heard a sweet voice call out "Just a minute!" which was followed by the call of a Pokemon.

Theo just stood there and looked around the familiar place to see that it was again rather deserted despite being the only centre of healing for Pokemon in the city, but it was to be expected after all, it was the off-season and the Pokemon League championships wouldn't start up again for another 3 months having just finished recently.

It was at this moment that a young woman in a nurse's apron with bubblegum pink hair came out, following by her side was the big pink marshmallow of a Pokemon that is Chancy, "Theo, how nice to see you! Are you here to volunteer again" Nurse Joy asked, Theo looked at her and simply smiled a small smile "Of course".
