Three weeks had passed. Kendra no longer hid anything about her pregnancy, accepting the fact of becoming a mother one day. She only had a gray vest with a hood, a white tank top, beige capri pants and sneakers.
She was reading a book, sitting on the couch in Kate's office. She was enjoying her day by staying at the office. Doctor Heightmeyer was away returning to Earth. The door suddenly opened revealing John Sheppard, dressed in his uniform. The colonel intended to go with Mckay in search of several stargates. He introduced himself to the young woman who stood up to welcome him.
"Colonel Sheppard, what can I do for you ?" She asked.
"I have a question. Carson brought us a man named Lucius Lavin. And I noticed that Doctor Beckett was a little too enthusiastic about him. There might be a reason to change him overnight ?" John explained questioningly. Kendra frowned in thought. She finally turned around when the colonel noticed her five-month-old belly.
"You are pregnant ?" » he asks.
Kendra frowned as she returned to their conversation.
"Did Doctor Becket consume a substance from Lucius' planet ?" asks Kendra.
"No," John replies.
He sneezed. Kendra gave him a tissue.
"Thank you," he said.
She placed her index finger and thumb on his chin, turning her back to him. She walked away, continuing her thoughts.
"So he did not ingest any substance from the planet. A personality change can be defined in different ways. Some are linked to mental illnesses but also to disorders. Emotional states are also important, as are medications," Kendra explained.
"It's a logical explanation but it doesn't help us," comments John.
"I'm going to ask Dr. Weir if I can meet him, hopefully I'll be able to establish it because of his personality," said the young woman.
"Well, we'll come back in the evening with Mckay, I hope to have some good news" admits the colonel.
Kendra nods as he leaves leaving her alone. Kendra finally met Lucius Lavin late in the afternoon.
The man gave a seductive smile as he held Kendra's hand.
"I am delighted to meet you, I did not know that this city had so many beautiful women" he declared.
Kendra raises her eyebrows as she slowly removes her hand.
"Nice to meet you, I'm Kendra Lloyd" she introduces herself.
"Oh please excuse my manners, my name is Lucius" introduces the seducer.
Kendra invited him to sit down. He placed himself in front of her, moving his chair closer to hers. Kendra picked up a notepad before crossing her legs.
"Very well, Lucius, what brings you to our city ?" Kendra asks.
"When I met your friends, I saw a flying machine. And I was amazed," he replies.
Lucius kept that smile before moving even closer. Kendra was taking notes as she felt the leg touch her ankle. She looks up with a frown. Kendra finally pulled away, Lucius narrowed his eyes and parted his lips. He noticed a rounded belly. He understood that she was pregnant. He clenches his fists while maintaining a polite smile. Kendra noticed his change in attitude.
"What are your attentions to us ?" Kendra questions.
"I would like to propose a negotiation with your people. I hope to create a lasting alliance between us" he specifies.
Kendra shows a straight face at this revelation. Lucius leaned towards her.
"You know, Miss Lloyd, I'm afraid I feel very alone," he confides.
"Really ? It's strange, I thought you were with six different women" recalls Kendra.
Lucius smiled, placing his hand on the young woman's leg. Kendra frowned at his action.
"Would you be jealous ?" Lucius asked.
"Jealous ? I don't even tell you," she replies dryly.
"You know, I would like us to get to know each other more deeply" he wishes, moving his hand up.
Kendra took his wrist, stopping him in his tracks. Having understood the implication, she stood up, placing him back in the chair. She placed one thigh between his legs, towering over him from her height, looking into his gaze. She saw Lucius wince at her wrist, she tightened her compression. She tilted her head as he tried to relax. He placed a hand on his hip.
"You know how to be enterprising," he remarks.
Kendra smiled. Lucius frowned when he saw the young woman's eyes shine.
"But, what…" he stutters.
Kendra pulled her hair back, pressing her lips to her ears. She removed her hand from her hip, making her most suave voice.
"Don't forget the subject of this meeting," she whispers.
Lucius felt a chill run down his spine. He felt the danger in the young woman's eyes. For some strange reason, he liked this new feeling.
Kendra raised her head, placing her hand under Lucius' chin. He smiled big, his cheeks flushed. The door suddenly opened, Carson walked in as Kendra looked up at him. The doctor was troubled by this situation. Kendra's eyes sparkled again. She stepped back while Carson looked worried.
"What are you doing ?" asks the doctor.
Lucius stood up, taking Carson in his arms. Doctor Beckett was delighted with this embrace.
"We were just getting to know each other," Lucius replies.
The man took one last look at the young woman. He led Carson outside, leaving her alone. Kendra rushed to her computer to write a full report on Lucius. She remembered an unpleasant smell on the man. But she had a reason for one thing. He gave off pheromones which had the effect of making himself appreciated by everyone.
The evening arrived, Kendra remained in her office. She went out to eat her meal in the cafeteria. She heard laughter ring out. Intrigued, she approaches when she sees Lucius sitting on a table. The Atlantis staff surround him, laughing at his story. Kendra crosses her arms as the door opens, revealing John and Rodney. The colonel exchanged a look with the assistant.
"What is happening ?" John asks.
Kendra turned to them.
"Not here," she whispers.
Kendra brought them to Kate's office, Rodney finally closed the door.
"So you were able to make a profile ?" asks Jean.
"He's a self-centered man, he was smart enough to drug everyone. I don't know how he does it, but he releases pheromones capable of motivating general behavior. By reading his mind, I managed to get in in his past. He felt a lack of love in his childhood," she explains.
"At least we have a starting point," John comments.
"I think I know how he drugs his victims," Rodney admits.
John and Kenda looked at him.
"Let's go to my laboratory," he said.
The colonel and the assistant followed Mckay to his laboratory. The machines were stored in the room, while he accessed his computer. The surveillance camera was launched. They saw Lucius drinking a liquid from a vial.
"I think that's how he's able to drug people," Mckay says.
"We need a sample of this vial," John said.
Kendra took a vial from her pocket. She gave it to Rodney.
"Where did you get that ?" asks the scientist.
"I took it during our consultation," admits the young woman.
"Good" compliments the colonel.
Kendra smiled at this compliment.
"I can analyze it," Rodney said.
Thirty minutes later, John returned from the control room. He looked serious while Mckay ran scans.
"Elizabeth wants to send a team to a planet filled with specters" admits the colonel.
"She's gone crazy, why do such a thing ?" asks Rodney.
"It seems like everything in this town has lost its mind," John said.
He leaned on the table and watched the scientist do his work.
"I need more of this liquid, I can't fully analyze it to determine its composition," Rodney explains.
"In that case, I'm going back to the planet, I'll see if I can find some" John added.
John walked out as Kendra followed.
"Colonel" Kendra called.
"Sorry, Lloyd, I don't have time," John said.
Kendra pressed on his shoulder, pinning him against the wall.
"I want to come with us" wishes the young woman.
"You're an assistant. I wouldn't see a pregnant woman fighting wraiths" he replies.
"I know how to defend myself, I lived with a soldier and my pregnancy is not a problem" explains Kendra.
"Why would you take such a risk? " asked Sheppard.
"When I was with Michael, he manipulated me, I couldn't stop being afraid but today, I concentrate on a rage for life. I want to make myself useful. I know how to use a weapon and I won't be a burden to you in this mission. So this time, let me help you. I want to fix my mistakes," Kendra explains.
"Lloyd, you didn't make a mistake with Michael," John said.
"You are very mistaken, I spent time with him, to the point of feeling emotions again. Lyra has stopped sharing my feelings, I am repairing myself little by little by trying to start a new life" admits the young woman.
"In recent months, I must admit that you have become more open," he admits.
Kendra smiled at his words.
"Teyla admitted to me that you spoke to her about a lover, I think I know who it is" he adds.
The young woman stepped back, narrowing her eyes. John leaned down to whisper a name to him. She simply nodded in confirmation.
"My pregnancy has become official, Colonel. He must not know that he could be the father of one of my children" confides the assistant.
"In that case, you will do as you wish," the colonel agrees.
Kendra got ready by wearing a military uniform. They exited through the stargate, going to Lucius' planet.
