Chapter Two: Friends Reunite
Luna was now walking down the country road, towards the Pokémon centre to heal her Pokémon and rest up. As she walked, she checked her Poké Gear to see how far away she was. It wasn't long before she could see the Pokémon centre was close.
"Perfect, the Pokémon centre"
Upon reaching the Pokémon centre, Luna was greeted by Nurse Joy who passed her the poké balls.
"All done, I'm pleased to say that your Pokémon are fighting fit"
"Thanks, so much"
"This is your first time here, am I right?"
"Of course,"
"Why don't you stay a while, the next town is a fair way off"
"Thanks, we'll do that"
Luna released her Gengar again, grinning at it as it wandered around.
"I'm so proud of you, Gengar, you were amazing today, not only has your strength improved but so has your attack power"
As Luna watched her Gengar wandering around, she noticed five other sixteen-year-old girls who were also experienced Pokémon trainers. The first had snow white skin, a slim build, long wavy midnight black hair that stopped at her elbows and dark chocolate brown eyes. The second was also fair skinned, her eyes were a beautiful teal and she had dark blue hair with pale bangs that was long to her waist. The third had amber eyes, fair skin and long blonde hair that fell perfectly down her back. The fourth one had fair skin, gold eyes and long light pink hair. The last was fair skinned with brown eyes and long red, yellow and orange hair. It didn't take long for Luna to recognise them, especially the one with the black hair. As soon as she saw the other girls, she walked over to the black haired one.
"Snow, it's been a while, how are you?"
Snow stood up from the table and met Luna.
"I'm fine, Luna, have you been alright?"
"As alright as I'll ever be."
"That's good, I suppose you'd be up for a battle, mind I don't have time to battle pathetic losers."
"Who are you calling pathetic, Snow?"
"I was generalising, I wasn't talking about you, most of my battling is against Team Rocket."
"Why?"
"It's a personal vendetta."
"I guess you and I can battle."
"Fine with me."
Snow and Luna walked outside; the other four girls followed them to watch.
"We'll each use two Pokémon."
"Fine"
Snow reached to her thick floor length white cloak and extracted a poké ball. Luna pulled a poké ball from trouser pocket.
"Ready, Luna?"
"As I'll ever be."
"Froslass, let's get this over with!"
Planting a kiss on the poké ball, Snow tossed it forwards and a Froslass appeared in a blaze of light.
"Gengar, night dance!"
The blue haired girl took her position to the side to referee the battle.
"Snow, you and Luna will each use two Pokémon, the winner will be the one whose Pokémon can still battle, Luna, as you're standing to the right of me, you have the honour and whoever wins two out of three rounds will obtain victory." The blue haired girl announced. "Is that clear?"
"Yes, Rain." Snow affirmed.
"Of course." Said Luna.
"Good." Rain stated. "Let the battle commence."
"Gengar, use Dark Pulse!"
Gengar put its hands together and a blast of black and purple circles shot out of them.
"Froslass, Blizzard, now!"
A light blue ball formed at Froslass's face and a blast of ice cold air shot out of its mouth. The two attacks cancelled out.
"Froslass, use Shadow Ball!"
Froslass shot a blackish purple ball from its hands which hit Gengar hard. Gengar fell backwards to the ground. Luna, frightened, looked Gengar in the eyes.
"Gengar, get up!"
Gengar quickly got up to a vertical base.
"Gengar, Focus Blast!"
A ball of red energy formed in front of Gengar's raised hands, it shot towards Froslass. Snow saw, the words shot off her tongue.
"Froslass, Blizzard!"
Heeding Snow's command, Froslass unleashed the blast of snow from its mouth.
The two attacks collided, locked together in stalemate. Soon Gengar fell backwards and hit the floor.
"Finish it, Froslass, use Ominous Wind!"
At Snow's command, Froslass emitted repulsive gust of purple wind. Luna noticed, she gave Gengar the command to get up.
"Gengar, counter with Dark Pulse!"
Gengar fired a barrage of black and purple circles from its hands, the circles collided with the wind and hit another stalemate. Soon Gengar collapsed again.
"Gengar is unable to battle, Snow takes the first round." Rain interjected.
Luna held out a poké ball.
"Gengar, return!" said Luna. She beamed Gengar up in a poké ball. "You were fantastic, Gengar, take a good rest."
Snow also beamed Froslass up in a poké ball. "Nice one, Froslass." She smiled.
Snow and Luna stood with new poké balls in hand.
"Umbreon, night dance!"
Luna threw the poké ball and Umbreon appeared in a blaze of light.
"Dragonair, let's get this over with!"
Snow tossed a poké ball and Dragonair appeared before her.
"Umbreon, use Shadow Ball on rapid fire!"
Umbreon obeyed Luna's command and repeatedly shot purple balls of energy from its mouth.
"Dragonair, Twister!"
The orbs on Dragonair's tail glowed, it obeyed Snow's instruction and waved its tail to create a tornado which it sent at Umbreon.
Umbreon was seized by the tornado and swept backwards but it struggled to its feet.
"Umbreon, Dark Pulse!"
"Dragonair, Flamethrower!"
Umbreon and Dragonair responded to the commands of their trainers. A barrage of black and purple circles shot out of Umbreon's mouth. Dragonair shot a powerful blast of fire. The two attacks collided in a stalemate.
However, when the smoke cleared, Umbreon had come off worse.
"Umbreon, Rest!"
"Dragonair, use Dragon Rage while Umbreon's resting!"
The orb on Dragonair's neck glowed and a swirling cyclone shot out. Luna noticed, "Umbreon, Sleep Talk, go!"
Although sleeping, Umbreon used Dark Pulse and the purple circles shot out of its mouth. Snow was swift to act.
"Dragonair, Ice Beam!"
A ball formed in front of Dragonair's mouth and three beams shot out of it. The two attacks collided and much to Snow's horror, Dragonair fainted. Umbreon looked tired.
"Dragonair, return."
Snow promptly recalled Dragonair and Luna followed with recalling Umbreon.
"Brilliant fight, Dragonair."
"Umbreon, you were brilliant."
Snow and Luna threw two new poké balls.
"Arbok, night dance!" yelled Luna.
"Braviary, let's get this over with!" Snow shouted.
Arbok and Braviary appeared in blazes of light. Braviary took to the sky precipitously.
"Arbok, Fire Fang!"
Flames filled Arbok's mouth and it bit Braviary. Braviary screamed in pain, Snow's heart filled with pain seeing her Pokémon suffer.
"Braviary, Sky Attack!"
Braviary remained airborne and absorbed more and more energy. Luna noticed.
"Arbok, use Crunch!"
Heeding Luna's command, Arbok bit Braviary hard. Braviary screeched in pain. However, Braviary had absorbed sufficient energy, brilliant red flames surrounded it and it flew at intense speed and slammed into Arbok. Arbok was knocked backwards with velocity.
Luna was shocked at the force that Braviary had hit Arbok with.
"Arbok, hang in there!"
Arbok shook its head and returned to its senses.
"Finish it, Braviary, Rock Slide!"
Snow's Braviary created multiple white orbs of energy round itself. The orbs turned into large grey rocks with white outlines and Braviary flicked one of its wings forward, causing the rocks to be thrown at Arbok.
Luna was stunned, she had to act now or never.
"Arbok, Venoshock on the rocks!"
At Luna's command Arbok leaped up and fired a powerful blast of green liquid from its mouth. The green liquid melted the rocks and hit Braviary in the face.
"Braviary, Air Slash!"
Braviary's wings glowed light blue and it flapped them, firing light blue crescent-shaped blades from them at Arbok.
The blades hit Arbok hard, it hissed in pain as each blade hit it. Soon it collapsed on the ground.
"Arbok cannot continue, Braviary wins!"
Luna promptly recalled Arbok, she smiled as she held the poké ball up.
"Arbok, you battled beautifully, you deserve a good rest."
Snow returned Braviary to its poké ball.
"Well done, Braviary, that was an amazing battle." Said Snow. "Hey, Luna, that was an awesome battle. I guess you're improving."
"Thanks, Snow."
Snow and Luna clasped arms and hugged. While the other four girls stayed outside, Snow went inside with Luna to heal their Pokémon. It wasn't long before they were fighting fit again. Then they reunited with Rain and the others.
As the girls stood outside, Snow noticed a dark presence in the distance at a canyon. She felt a surge of fear and anger.
"That darkness means only one thing." Said Snow.
"What's that?" asked Rain.
"Darkrai is clearly near." Snow answered. "That must also mean Cresselia is in danger, I'm going to check it out."
"Wait, Snow, let's check it out together." Rain interjected.
"No, Rain, if one goes we all go." Snow affirmed.
The girls were all too quick to act and head off in the direction of the canyon. The darkness was a clear hint of trouble.
