Chapter 15: Day of the Great Devourer

"In meditation, my smoke visions have come to an end and tomorrow I cannot see," Wu said as he saw a vision of him and Celestia standing off against Pythor before a large figure loomed down on them and He gasped and Celestia woke up terrified.
"Pythor's on board!" Lloyd screamed as Pythor smirked down at the Ninja, Mane 6, Pillars, Two Sisters, and Wu forming a Pony-Chain while holding the Fangblades before he jumped off the Bounty and onto a Rattlecopter.
"So long, suckers!" Pythor shouted as the Copter flew away.
"If Pythor returns the Fangblades to the City of Ouroboros, he'll awaken the Great Devourer, and all of Equestria will fall to its gluttony!" Star Swirl said as The Ninja were chasing the Serpent Express, and fighting off the Serpentine.
"Our destiny is to face Pythor alone!" Wu spoke as he and Celestia were fighting Pythor before the scene changed to him placing the Fangblades into the Statue of the Great Devourer and leaked out green venom-like liquid.
"It's working!" Pythor cheered as the snake-like spiral on the arena floor glowed green.
"What have you done?! You are playing with power that cannot be controlled, just as Twilight tried to tell you, it will consume everything, even the Serpentine!" Wu said as he and Celestia glared at Pythor before the Anacondrai looked down and screamed at the sight of a pair of glowing purple in the pit before Wu and Celestia grabbed him by the neck.
"There is a storm coming my little ponies, and only you can stop it!" Celestia said as the Ninja looked down at the pit and saw the eyes getting closer.
As the ground of the City of Ouroboros began to shake madly, the ground began to break apart as a pair of purple serpent eyes was rising up. "You must do everything in your power to stop the Great Devourer!" Wu told his pupils as he and Celestia kept a tight hold on Pythor.
"For the sake of Equestria and the lands beyond it! Go, Ninja!... Go!" Celestia cheered for them as her sister finally realized what she was doing.
"Sister... Wu... NO!" Luna cried out in tears as she tried to go save them but was held back by her teacher and Twilight. Aqua then took the Young Seven, Spike, Starlight, and Lloyd and took off.
"... I love you," Celestia said softly to her sister with a smile and tears dripping from her eyes. She then turned her sights back to the pit as after a moment of silence... monstrous green reptilian head with a frill around its head erupted from the earth! Everycreature stood back in abject horror as the gargantuan serpent rose higher and higher as the lightning flashed behind it, making the beast even more terrifying.
The Great Devourer then opened its mouth and released an unworldly roar that shook the heavens themselves. Suddenly, it turned its sights upon Pythor, Wu and Celestia and then lunged its gapping jaws down at them, and got them in one bite.
The others watched in horrifed shock at what they saw. "... Sensei," Trail whispered in sorrow.
"Celestia..." Twilight whimpered out, just witnessing the mare she loved and looked up to like a mother just killed off.
"No..." Thunder whispered as all of them were in disbelief of what they just witness. After swallowing the small snack it had, with some yellow magic flowing over it's scales, it let out a frightening roar before it draws its attention towards the Ninja, the Mane Six, and the Pillars. "Oh, maybe if we stand perfectly still it won't see us... you know, like Fluttershy over there."
"I'm not standing still, I'm frozen in horror..." Fluttershy explained as her legs were shaking like a leaf.
"And it might see us as brightly colored fruit snacks, you bolt brain." Gaia grunted at Thunder as her accent was gone.
"Well then, that just leaves us with one option then..." Rarity whispered as they slowly backed up and Landrush picked up Fluttershy.
"RUN!" Flash shouted before they all ran for their lives back to the Bounty. The Devourer chased after them, surprisingly fast for its size, as it destroyed the buildings around it. As they ran Pinkie tripped on her hooves and fell, as she shook off the sand she turned to the Devourer as it let out another roar.
"HEY WAAAIITTT!" Pinkie screamed, finding her second wind and catching up quickly with the others, the Devourer right on her tail. "WAIT FOR ME!"
"Fire up the engines!" Aqua ordered as she took the helm while the Young Seven, Spike, and Lloyd was staring out the window at the massive serpent coming towards them. "I said fire up the engines!" She shouted, snapping them out of their trance and getting to work.
"There's no wind! And we're only have reserve fuel!" Lloyd told the others as he checked the readings.
"Flash will cover the winds and use that reserve fuel!" Starlight told him as the others quickly came aboard and tumbled over each other. Everypony went to their stations as Thunder looked on the screen and saw the Devourer was still chasing slithering towards them.
"Uh, hate to tell you this, but objects in the mirror are closer than they appear." He said to Aqua and Starlight.
"We gotta move before we all become snake food!" Rainbow added frantically.
"Working on it!" Aqua said as the Bounty's thrusters activated. "Blasters on full." The Bounty took off, just barely missing the Devourer's jaws.
Trail looked outside and saw the Devourer was gone. "Whoo-hoo! Take that, you stupid snake!" He cheered but unfortunately, he spoke too soon as out of nowhere the Devourer burst out the of the ground in front of them.
"HOLY CELESTIA!" Spike screamed in shock.
"Um, I think it heard you, darling," Rarity said nervously.
"Aqua, we must go faster!" Star Swirl told her as the Devourer continued to chase them.
"He's right! That thing is gaining on us!" Silverstream called out as she looked out from the back window.
"We're going as fast as we can!" Aqua said as she pulled up an image of Ghastly Gorge. "I'll try to make it to the Ghastly Gorge!"
"The Ghastly Gorge?!" Gallus asked, thinking she was joking.
"Probability of us making it that far is less than 8 percent," Frost calculated.
"Never tell us the odds!" Starlight told him.
"It's coming in for another attack!" Flash Magnus said. "Port side!"
The Bounty turned left, just barely dodging the Devourer again.
"Then throw everything overboard!" Twilight ordered.
"What?!" They all shouted.
"We need to lose some weight!" Twilight explained.
"Port side!" Gallus called out before the Devourer nearly got them and bit off a thruster.
Flash then went up on deck and used his powers to add more wind to the sails. "You heard the princess guys! Throw everything overboard!" he ordered as everyone proceed to throw everything overboard.
Luna then noticed Wu's teapot and Celestia's collar, furrowing her brows she took them. The heroes then threw everything they got off the ship as Lloyd and the Young Seven watched the ship's speed increasing.
"It's working!" Cozy declared but the Devourer was still of their tail and gobbling up everything they threw out and anything else in its path.
"Man, he sure is hungry!" Thunder commented.
"You mean, she sure is hungry," Fluttershy corrected as everypony turned to her in shock.
"IT'S A GIRL?!" they all exclaimed.
"We're not even gonna ask how you know that!" Applejack told Fluttershy as Lloyd noticed the speed of the Bounty was picking up as they continued to throw everything overboard.
Applejack gave one last look at the Devourer before she noticed something. "Does anypony else think the Devourer looks bigger than it did before?"
They would agree with her before they saw it shed a bit of scales and grew bigger. It was right there and then Twilight found out something about it.
"The more it consumes, the bigger it gets! Just as the legend said! Don't throw anything else overboard!" Twilight shouted as Luna already through the teapot and the collar overboard and the Devourer ate both items.
The Bounty then flew towards the Gorge. "We made it to the Ghastly Gorge, hold on!" Starlight said as the Bounty navigated around the thorny cacti, falling rocks, and even the Quarry Eels.
The Eels snapped theirs jaws at the ship that invaded their homes, but then saw the Devourer slithering towards them. They panicked and dove back into their tunnels and out of the way of the larger Serpent. The Devourer came so close that the computer made a 3D Hologram that spooked both Thunder and Rarity. Trail went to the head of the ship as it was flying through the Gorge.
However, there was no sign of the Devourer anywhere. "Heh, we lost her," Landrush said, only to jinx it as the Devourer burst from below and sliced off the other thruster with its tail.
Alarms blared as everycreature held on to something. "Mayday! Mayday! We're going down!" Rainbow shouted.
"Abandon ship!" Aqua shouted. As the Bounty was going down, everyone on board was preparing to leave before Twilight and Flash quickly grabbed the five Serpentine eggs. As the Bounty crashed on the ground, everyone struggled to stay up as they felt the shaking from the crash.
Thunder and Gaia crashed through the Window and on to the deck. Everycreature else ran out as well.
"Goodbye, old friend," Frost said to the Bounty as he and his Falcon jumped off and the Ninja summoned their vehicles and Aqua's suit as they moved away from the Bounty as it landed on its side.
They all bowed their heads or wiped their tears as the Great Devourer appeared again, eying the ship. The heroes headed for the rock and watched from a distance as the Great Devourer lifted the Destiny's Bounty up with its mouth... and completely shattered it with one single crunch.
"No!" The Ninja and their friends cried out as they watched their second home be destroyed as the Devourer, finishing its snack, dove back underground to find more food.
"Unh, it's gone," Landrush said as each Ninja took off their hoods while the other laid down to catch their breath.
"That was too intense. All that action," Trail said as he laid on his back. "Makes you so thirsty."
"I... can feel my heart beating by the second..." Fluttershy said as had her hoof on her chest and Rainbow Dash wrapped her wing around her to comfort her.
"There is no time for rest," Somnambula spoke up, "We must warn the creatures of Equestria before that monstrosity grows bigger." As it spoke the earth behind them moved from where the Devourer was traveling.
"Bigger? BIGGER?!" Thunder shouted, before pointing to what remained of the Bounty, "That thing, in just one huge bite, crushed our entire ship!"
"I'm with Thunder on this one!" Gaia shouted as she continued to speak without her accent. "What can we do against something like that?!"
"We need to save as many as we can," Thunder said as he started to pace around, sounding a little desperate. "Uh, uh, we'll find some kind of refuge, somewhere safe to hide. Ooh, the Serpentine Tombs! Yeah, they're underground. We'll be without sunlight, but they're perfect!"
"And what, just give up!?" Landrush asked him if he was serious.
"You know if we run, that overgrown worm is gonna make an all-you-can-eat buffet out of Equestria!" Applejack added.
Thunder just glared back at them. "And you know that we have no hope of stopping that thing!"
"General Arcturus stopped it before! By removing the fangs from it!" Rainbow retorted.
"And who knows how many Serpentine were eaten by it before they managed to defang that thing and to put it to sleep the first time!" Gaia argued as Twilight and Flash came between them.
"Hey, stop it! Listen to yourselves," Flash told them, "Is this what Sensei Wu and Celestia would've wanted?"
"Us fighting? Running and hiding? Giving up?" Twilight added, glaring at them.
"But they're not here anymore," Lloyd said in a sad tone. They all look down at the memory of them being eaten by the Devourer and still couldn't believe it.
"But their teachings live on," Flash reminded. "Sensei once told me it's not the size of a Ninja in a fight, but the size of the fight in the Ninja. All this training, all those battles we've had with skeletons and the Serpentine. We've persevered through so much; we can't just give up now. A Ninja never quits. A Ninja always picks himself up when he is down. Which is exactly what Sensei Wu and Celestia would want us to do right now."
"And you girls taught that as long as we're together, no power or creature can stop us!" Twilight added, "So now, let's pull together and stop the Great Devourer once and for all!"
"But how do we destroy a snake of that magnitude?" Frost asked.
"Yeah, it's not like we have an extra Sacred Flute lying around to charm it. Or wait, haha, how about one of our awesome dragons? Oh, I forgot. They took off and left us high and dry. Or we could use the Elements of Harmony if King Sombra hadn't smashed them and the Tree of Harmony into a million pieces, hey, what about out Golden Weapons and The Magic of Friendship rainbow laser? Which will do nothing against a snake that size!" Thunder listed at just how limited their options were, as he sank down to the ground "Heh, oh, we are so hooped."
"Ah, Thunder's right," Landrush said. "We would need a weapon so big."
"Or an idea that's even bigger," A familiar voice said before in a proof of magic, Discord appeared.
"Discord? Why are you here?" Fluttershy asked as they all were surprised to see him.
"Well, as the Lord of Chaos, I can sense when something big has happened. And given the formula this whole adventure has gone, I can assume that big ugly snake has finally been set free," Discord said before he walked over to Luna and gently padded her head. "But first, my condolences to you, Lulu. I'm deeply saddened about Tia and Wu's sudden demise." He then snapped his talons and a rolled-up blueprint appeared. "Now then… perhaps this might help with things." He gave it to Flash and when he saw what it was, his eyes widened with hope.
""This could work! Thanks!" Flash told Discord before he turned to Thunder who was laying on his side. "And Thunder, you're a genius. You thinking what I'm thinking?"
"Probably not, but go ahead," Thunder told him as he was laying on his side.
"There's no time! I'll fill you guys in on the way," he said as rushed out into the open.
"Wha-Where are we going?" Starlight asked him as she and the others felt very lost.
"We're going to destroy that snake and do what we always do," Flash said before turning to them with a smirk. "Try and save the world!"
Meanwhile at the entrance to the Fangpyre Tomb, the Serpentine had packed their things and were jumping in one by one after hearing about The Great Devourer was on a rampage. "Why did we lisssten to Pythor?" the Fangpyre General asked Skales. "Unleashing the Great Devourer wasss a horrible idea!"
"We should have lissstened to the Princesssss of Friendship!" the Constrictai General Added, slamming his staff down.
"This is all your fault!" the Venomari General blamed Skales as he and the others learned that Skales had helped Pythor manipulate them into unleashing the great Devourer and following him.
"How wasss I sssupposed to know he wasss mad?!" Skales defended, as he was just as surprised by the turn of events.
"You were hisss right hand! You should've known better!" the Fangpyre General retorted to his old friend, "And now, the Devourer will eat us all!"
Just then the Devourer slithered past them and the Serpentine quickly jumped into the tomb one by one.
"Out of my way, cowardssss!" Skales demanded as he and General slithered to the opening and bumped into each other.
"Me?! They're the cowardsss!" the Constrictai General argued.
"I'm the one sssurrounded by cowards!" the Venomari General retorted as the fell into the tomb.
"You three are the cowardsss!" the Fangpyre general finished as he closed the Entranced and the Devourer slithered on.
The group soon arrived to the junkyard of Thunder's parents on their Spinjitzu Vehicles before they stopped. Once their vehicles vanished, they gather around and took off their hoods. "Good idea, Flash," Landrush said. "If the Devourer likes to consume, this place is a full-on buffet." Thunder walked over to the trailer and knocked on the door only to get no response.
"Looks like my parents are gone," Thunder told the others.
"Good. Better for us, then," Discord said with a construction outfit and hardhat. He then placed the blueprints he had on the front of car and it showed the design for that looked like a combination of all the Ninja's vehicles as they all gathered around.
"Whoa!" The Young Six said.
"It's so awesome!" Rainbow squealed.
"All right. Frost, do you still have a recording of the Sacred Flute in your memory banks?" Flash asked as Lloyd and Cozy tried to see the Blue Prints but couldn't see past the others.
"It might've been destroyed earlier, but I have its exact tone recorded and ready for playback," Frost told Flash as he flipped up the panel on his left hoof and played a recording of the Sacred Flute.
"Good, and there should be enough spare parts around here to build this whopper," Flash said as he looked around the junkyard. "But we're gonna need to create our biggest Tornado of Creation yet. This is gonna be dangerous and we can't have anycreature around."
"Umm, you mean anycreature like her?" Pinkie asked as they all turned and saw Derpy the Mailpony arriving at the junkyard.
"Derpy?" Rainbow and Fluttershy asked.
"Oh, what's she doing here?" Landrush asked as Derpy put some letters in the Bolt and Scrip's mailbox. Thunder and Trail then went up to her.
"Aah!" Derpy yelped when she saw them. "I didn't see you two there. Are Ninja always sneaking around and giving ponies heart attacks?"
"Sorry, didn't mean to scare you," Trail apologized. "But you need to get out of here, now."
"I'm sorry but I have a job to do too," Derpy said as she took out a couple of letters from her mail bag. "I have to deliver the mail."
"Look, Derpy, my parents aren't even here," Thunder said to her. "You really should be on your way."
"Oh, them too?" Derpy asked as she tapped her chin. "Uh, let me guess, are they at the 'Take Back Equestria' rally too?"
"Uh, 'Take back Equestria' rally?" Spike asked.
"What, you guys haven't heard? Everycreature's getting together for a rally, organized by Rose Boral and Princess Cadance in Equestria City," Derpy explained as Gaia was surprised that her mother organized this event. "You know, to raise awareness about all the Serpentine problems that have been surfacing lately. I even heard the Royal Blacksmiths were gonna perform there too."
"Whoa. Would you look at that?" Lloyd said in an impressed tone. "You guys are inspirational."
"Wait a minute. Are you here because of the Serpentine?" Derpy asked the Ninja, not noticing the large green Serpent slithering towards the junkyard behind her. "Because wherever you guys are, trouble is always around the corner. So, I think I'll be leaving now 'cause whatever you guys are up to, I want no part of it."
She then noticed the Ninja entering battle stances and turned to see the Devourer. "AAHH! G-g-g-giant S-s-snake!" she screamed before diving into a trashcan. The Devourer turned its attention to the Ninja before looking to the junkyard, licking its lips at all the options it had.
As the Devourer was wondering where it could start its meal, Flash told his friends, "Hey! It's now or never, guys! Ninja, GO!"
He started off the formation for the Tornado of Creation with his element. "Wind!"
"Fire!" Trail called his element.
"Earth!" Landrush shouted his.
"Life!" Gaia called her element.
"Lightning!" Thunder called out.
"Ice!" Frost was last.
Soon, the Ninja combined their elements into the Tornado of Creation. As the Tornado was gathering a few items in the junkyard, the Mane Six, Young Seven, the Pillars, Discord, Aqua, Lloyd, and Starlight were holding on as do not get caught up in the Tornado. The Devourer watched in confusion as the Ninja turned its food into a combination tank comprising of all the Ninja Vehicles.
"Frost, now!" Flash ordered as it Frost fired a sound blast of the Sacred Flute's song at the Devourer. But it caught on to what they were doing and dodged.
"Frost, what was that?!" Landrush asked when he missed. "This isn't target practice! You're supposed to hit her, not give her a haircut!"
"May I remind you, we just magically whipped up this heap of junk," Frost told him.
"Well, I hope one of us created a reverse feature, because..." Trail said as he noticed the Devourer was about to attack. "Reverse!"
"How's this for reverse?!" Thunder shouted as he pulled a lover and the tank moved back when the Devourer slammed its jaw in the ground.
The tank just kept on dodging the Devourer's attacks and Frost tried to fire another blast but the giant snake dodged it again.
"Aw man, they'll never get it if it keeps moving around like that!" Smolder said as the Ninja moved the battle outside the junkyard.
Rockhoof nodded, "Aye, we need somethin' ta distract the Devourer long enough for the Njnja to blast its ears off," he said.
Discord then cleared his throat. "Ahem, wouldn't it be lucky if we had somepony who has a way with animals of any size and a move that stops anything in its tracks?" he asked exasperatedly as he turned into neon signs and pointed at Fluttershy.
Fluttershy, realizing what was happening whimpered. "Oh dear."
"We know you don't like doing it, Fluttershy, but we need you now more than ever," Twilight said as the Ninja dodged another attack. "They won't hold out much longer if this keeps up."
Fluttershy saw the Ninja fighting with the Devourer before it knocked them away. So, swallowing her fear she flew towards the giant Serpent, "Excuse me, Ms. Great Devourer?" she asked politely as the Devourer turned its attention to the yellow pegasus, surprised that she could understand her.
Fluttershy saw the endless hunger in its eyes but pushed on "Um, I know you're really hungry, and I'm sure everything looks tasty, but you should understand that you can't just go around eating everything in sight. It's impolite." She said to the Devourer as the Ninja worked to right themselves.
The Devourer then roared at Fluttershy blowing her mane back. Though surprised at first, Fluttershy then looked angry. "How dare you use language like that, lady?! Equestria is everycreatures' home, NOT your personal restaurant! And as a creature yourself, you should respect others and your place in Equestria!" she scolded the Devourer but the snake remained steadfast. Fluttershy sighed, seeing she had no choice.
"What's Fluttershy doing?!" Gaia asked when they saw her near the Devourer.
"Helping us," Flash answered as he knew what she was about to do.
"Very well, just remember: you brought this upon yourself!" Fluttershy said with her eyes closed... before she opened them, unleashing the Stare! The Devourer was about to roar when got one look at the Stare and felt itself freeze up a bit at the same time it was trying to eat her. Fluttershy opened her eyes wider for a more effective way to use the Stare.
"She immobilized it! Now we just have to keep it from eating her!" Frost called out.
"How's this?" Gaia asked as she fired two grappling hook claws from the side of the tank and grabbed hold of the Devourer.
The Devourer roared in surprise as Fluttershy flew back down and hyperventilate into a bag.
"Good job Fluttershy!" Rainbow complimented as the Ninja reeled the Devourer in place.
"Frost quickly! Before it gets away!" Trail said as the pulled as hard as they could. "Now, Frost, now!"
"Charm your way out of this!" Frost said as he fired the sound blast at the Devourer, finally making impact, knocking it down as the flute song echoed throughout the area.
"It's working!" Flash Magnus shouted as the Devourer growled in pain from the song of the Flute being blasted at it. Flash Sentry then noticed something on top of its forehead. It looked like a glowing green dot and he had an idea of what it is.
"It's got a weak spot!" Flash told the others, but the volume of the song was too loud for them to even hear him.
"What?!" they shouted as they did not notice the Devourer's tail rising up from behind the tank.
"On its forehead, it has a-" Flash was cut off when the tail truck where Frost is and stopped the song.
"FROST!" They all screamed in fear as the Devourer slithered away.
"Is everypony okay?" Twilight asked.
"Where's Frost?!" Lloyd asked frantically.
Then from under the rubble Frost spoke, "Right here." He pushed the rubble away, showing he was alright but half of his face was missing revealing his robotic nature. "That was close."
"Too close," Trail sigh in relief.
"Perfect. Now that was a total failure," Thunder complained as they hopped out of the tank.
"Not total," Flash spoke up. "Did any of you notice what's on her forehead? It has a weak spot."
"Oh, great, let me make a note of that:" Thunder said, pretending to write something. "Giant snake has wee, itty-bitty weak spot that'll be TOTALLY IMPOSSIBLE TO HIT BECAUSE THAT THING IS TOO INCREDIBLE HUGE TO DO ANYTHING TO STOP IT!" he screamed and panted.
"Are you done?" Starlight asked as Thunder took a breath in and smiled.
"Yes," he said as Starlight crossed her hooves.
"Because our problems just got worse," she said, before pointing at the Devourer. "Look at the direction it's going." They all turned and finally realized what destination the Devourer was heading for.
"It's heading towards Equestria City!" Applejack shouted.
"But that's where my mother is," Gaia said in a worry tone.
"So is my dad!" Landrush added.
"And my parents!" Thunder put in.
"And all of our families along with everycreature else!" Sandbar finishes.
"If it consumes the biggest city in all of Equestria, there will be no stopping it," Luna told them ominously as they all looked on in dread as the Devourer was barreling towards the unsuspecting city.
Meanwhile in the heart of Equestria City creatures of all kinds had gathered around The Royal Blacksmiths, Octavia, Vinyl Scratch, Countess Coloratura, Songbird Serenade, singing, "Hey, hey what do we say? We want snakes' warring ways to slither away!~" at the front were the families of the Mane 7, Ninja and Young Six with Rose and Cadence at the front smiling.
"This event was a perfect idea, Ms. Boral," Cadance said to the rich mare. "With all this awareness, we may be able to convince the Serpentine and the other creatures to live in peace with each other."
Rose bowed to the princess. "Thank you, your Highness. My daughter and her friends helped me realize that only by working together through understanding and friendship, can we truly have peace," she said before looking around with a confused frown. "On that note though, where is my daughter and her friends?"
"Huh, come to think of it, Twilight and her friends aren't here either," Cadence noted, as she knew with that such a large gathering of friendship and unity and as ruler of Equestria, Twilight was sure to make an appearance.
In the subway system the station monitor noticed something, "Hey that's odd," he said as he noticed a red dot traveling on one of the routes. "The system is saying there's a train entering the city on Track 9."
"Oh, we don't have any trains entering on Track 9," his partner said, thinking it was a kind of glitch. Meanwhile on the platform, the ponies and other creatures waited for their train but then felt a rumble, which sounded much larger and faster than a train.
"Well, there's something big coming our way!" the station monitor said as, barreling out of the tunnel was the Great Devourer. The creatures screamed in terror as the Devourer growled in hunger. Soon it burst out of the subway and let out a frightening roar causing everycreature to run away in fear of the Devourer.
"AHH! What is that thing?!" Rose screamed in terror.
Cadence turned pale as, even though this was the first time she every saw this creature, she knew all too well what it was. "The Great Devourer..." She whispered as she, Rose and the performers moved out of its tail slamming down on the stage, destroying it.
Thunder's parents went to their vehicle just as it was eying it. Bolt tried to start the engine but it wouldn't work, "Oh, boy. Oh guys. Oh, golly. Oh, duh!" he said as the Devourer got closer to him and Scrip.
Just then the Ninja arrived on their vehicles and the repaired tank and saw the Devourer and Thunder's Parents. "Mom? Dad?!" Thunder called out for them in dread before he leapt out of his jet and onto his parent's car. "Leave my parents alone! LIGHTNING!" he shouted, using his Nun-Chucks to shoot lightning at the Devourer, forcing it back.
The Great Devourer then began to slither around the park as everycreature ran for their lives. Trail flipped over some chariots before standing in front of the Devourer's path.
"Fire!" Trail called out his element as he shot a stream of flames at the Great Devourer.
"Life!" Gaia called out her element jabbing her Sais into the ground, creating vines that anchored the Devourer in place.
From behind, a news reporter mare and camera-stallion were recording the battle via magical projection in their news cart. "Are you getting this?" the reporter asked the camera-stallion.
"Roll camera!" he answered as he caught the Devourer raising its tail, only for it to be obscured by something. The two looked and saw it was Landrush lifting their news cart.
"Mind if I borrow this?" he asked before he threw the van at the Devourer.
"Go, Ninja, go!" the reporter cheered as the Ninja regrouped. The Devourer then threw its tail hook at them.
"Ice!" Frost called his element as he frozen the Devourer's tail.
Flash then took to the skies and harnessing the power of the wind, his body, his Bo, and his eyes glowed. "Wind!" Flash shouted as soared down toward the Devourer like a bullet and hit right in the face knocking it down.
"Alright!/Yeah/Way to go!" The others cheered as Flash remained airborne even after powering down.
Then the Devourer rose its head up, started to wheeze rapidly from some dust that got in its nose before. "AH-AH-AHH-CHOO!" It sneezed, spewing green slime from its mouth, before it growled at Flash angrily as its eyes glowed yellow and green.
Flash chuckled sheepishly. "Eh-heh-heh, sorry?" he apologized sheepishly before the Devourer roared.
Suddenly the sun turned to a sickly green, with the sky reflecting that color too. It then opened its mouth towards Flash and erupting from it was a burst of green noxious fire. Flash yelped and spun his Bo to deflect the flames only for it to blast himself straight into the side of Building.
"FLASH!" Twilight screamed as she ran to his aid.
"Wh-what's happening?!" Landrush asked in worry.
"What happened to the sun?!" Pinkie asked.
Star Swirl's eyes widened as his pupils became pinpoints. "Oh, no. Could it be?" he wondered, as he turned to the Devourer while green embers started coming from its mouth. "The Devourer… It's using Celestia's magic somehow! It's drawing power from the sun itself!"
"WHAT?!" they all screamed as the Devourer smirked at its new power and then used it to thaw the ice around its tail enough for it to break free and slam it down on the ground.
Thunder winced and turned to the others. "Uh yeah, and I think we only made it mad." He said nervously.
Elsewhere in a tea shop, Garmadon stepped through the doorway and went up to the counter while the owner had her back turned to him. "Traveler's Tea," he requested.
"Only a fool requests Traveler's Tea," the old mare told Garmadon before she turned to look at him. When she saw it was him, she had a nervous grin on her face and corrected herself. "But you are not a fool. Uh, let me go get some in the back." She then went to fetch some for him.
"And I am here live, caught in the middle of an epic Ninja versus snake battle!"
Garmadon turned to the TV and saw something that made his blood freeze. It was the very snake that bit his hoof that fateful day, now a hundred times bigger and fighting against his enemies.
"Creatures of Equestria, I have never seen bravery like this before. But I fear the Ninja, the Council of Friendship, and even our Princess or Friendship, are no match for a beast this size. All creatures are recommended to flee or run away, waving their arms wildly while screaming like little children," the reporter said as the battle went on.
Garmadon growled, knowing the Ninja had the key to destroying the Devourer but did not have the power to use it like he-
His train of thought was stopped as a realization came to him, "Wait, hmm…" he pondered to himself as a devious smirk came to him. "What a golden opportunity."
The old mare came back with Traveler's Tea and Garmadon took it. "Thank you, and I hope to see you again," he said before walking out the door, quietly laughing to himself, as he now had a chance to take his revenge on the Devourer AND accomplish his goal.
Back in Equestria City, the Ninja and the Mane Six were getting up from the ground from an attack that The Great Devourer used on them as it continued its rampage. They were then all knocked back again when it slammed its head on the ground. But before the Devourer could chomp down on them again, Aqua flew in, grabbing a lamp pole and wedging it between its jaws.
"Samurai to the rescue!" Thunder said as the Devourer struggled to shake them out of its mouth.
"Again!" Rainbow added.
Lloyd, riding with Aqua in the suit, smelled the Devourer's breath and gagged, "Ugh, her breath smells worse than Landrush's chili!" he commented.
Landrush raised a brow at the insult. "HEY!" he called out.
The Great Devourer then slammed its head against the building causing the Samurai suit to malfunction and worst the pole was starting to bend.
"Sis, Lloyd, get out there!" Trail told them.
Aqua, now regretting her choice, tried to pull the mech away but could not. "I can't! The controls are frozen! We're stuck!" she said as the Devourer was close to closing its jaws on them as the two panicked.
But then just as the others rushed to help them, something big and white struck the Devourer from behind.
"We go away for a few months and things go out of control." the voice of someone Flash was familiar with was heard. The Ninja looked up and saw that what attacked the Devourer was a large white Dragon, with silver and gold spikes on its body and four legs. But was the most shocking was that the Dragon had six heads marked with different colored elemental symbols. Six heads… that were very familiar.
"Hey is that…?" Thunder spoke up.
Then the head with the dark blue markings grinned at him. "Miss us, guys?" It spoke with Wisp's voice.
"Wisp?!" Thunder exclaimed.
"Flame?!" Trail gasped.
"Rocky!" Landrush said.
"Shard?!" Frost spoke up.
"Nimbus!" Flash shouted.
"Orchy! Our dragons are back!" Gaia rejoiced with a bright smile.
"Back and better than ever!" Orchy said as they flew around and roared.
"It appears dragons go through a metamorphosis when they reach adulthood," Frost theorized.
"Some of us do, but that..." Smolder told him before she pointed at their dragons, or dragon. "That's so awesome!" she cheered.
"That's right, we aren't just a dragon anymore!" Rocky said as they soared around in circles, "Now we're an... "
"Ultra Dragon!" all six heads roared in unison.
Luna laughed. "It would seem they too have found their own True Potential!" she said.
"Heh, well, they couldn't have chosen at better time to return!" Gaia said as Ultra Dragon dove towards the Devourer. "Go and give that beast a good show, Orchy!"
"You got it!" Ultra Dragon replied.
They circled back around and let out an ice breath right towards the neck of the Devourer. "Ice!" Frost called out.
Next, Ultra Dragon flew high before unleashing a powerful fireball at the Devourer. "Fire!" Trail declared.
Ultra Dragon then zoomed towards the Devourer as a Mini-Tornado. "Wind!" Flash shouted.
Soon, Ultra Dragon made a sharp turn and shot bolts of Lightning at the giant snake. "Lightning!" Thunder called out.
Before the Devourer could recover, Ultra Dragon flew up and wrapped the Devourer in vines. "Life!" Gaia yelled.
Finallly, Ultra Dragon curled into a ball and delivered a heavy attack to the Devourer's head, making it dizzy. "Earth!" Landrush shouted.
In its daze the Devourer crashed its head into a building causing it to drop Aqua and Lloyd. Ultra Dragon then caught them before they hit the ground. After they set them down, the Devourer began to climb its way up a building just as Ultra Dragon was flying by.
The Devourer fired blasts of green flames at the Dragon but it dodges them with ease, "Ha! You call those fireballs!?" Flame mocked as the Ultra Dragon unleashed a barrage of elemental attacks on the giant snakes.
"Haha! Could dragons get any cooler?! Seriously!" Rainbow asked.
"All dragons are awesome already!" Spike said as he and Smolder high-fived. Ultra Dragon unleashed one more fire blast at the Devourer before it started slithering down the building.
"Yes! it's running away!" Trail said as Ultra Dragon flew away.
"Great job, guys!" Nimbus said as Ultra Dragon came in for a landing but then... the Devourer's tail burst out of the ground and smacked the dragon upwards.
"No!" they all shouted before the Devourer used its tail to whacked Ultra Dragon hard to the ground.
"No!" Gaia shouted when Ultra Dragon crashed and she over to see if it's okay.
"It's... too strong..." Flames grunted in pain.
"We can't beat it... even with us like this..." Shard added.
"What now?!" Aqua asked as they were out of options, or were they? Twilight was looking around and thinking on how to stop the Great Devourer till she got a look of the six Golden Weapons of Spinjitzu before coming up with an idea.
"Your Weapons!" Twilight shouted getting the Ninja attention. "Alone they're not enough, but with all six of them combined, it might be enough to destroy the Devourer once and for all!"
"…That could work," Flash said as the Ninja looked to each other as none of them noticed a certain alicorn behind them. "If we could unleash the Weapons' power right on the Devourer's weak spot, we could finally stop it!"
"Great idea! Except for the fact somepony needs to hold all six Weapons to create enough power, and in case anyone forgot: nopony can handle all that power without being totally disintegrated!" Trail reminded them of what happened if someone were to hold all six Golden Weapons.
"Except for me!" they all turned to see Garmadon standing not too far from where they are.
"Garmadon?!" they all said, while the Pillars and Discord were surprised by Garmadon's new form.
Discord was the first to express his thoughts. "Whoa… I did not expect to see that," he remarked before pulling out a small black booklet titled "List of the Most Unexpected". "This one's gonna be a full-pager."
"You came back!" Lloyd said when he saw his dad here.
"Give me the Weapons," Garmadon told them. "I'm the only one who can handle their power of all six Weapons at once. It's just Princess Twilight said: it's the only thing that'll defeat the Devourer."
The Ninja turned to each other, very unsure about this. "Whoa, whoa, whoa! You're not really going to give him the Weapons, are you?" Rainbow asked.
"But Garmadon is right. Like it or not, we have to give him the Weapons," Applejack reminded.
"Uh, but I thought we were supposed to do everything in our power not to let him possess the weapons?" Thunder asked as Garmadon deadpanned at them. Were they really going to question this now?
"I've ran every other scenario through my servers," Frost told them. "It appears to be the only way."
"Flash, it's your call," Gaia said as Flash looked out in the city and saw the Devourer continuing its rampage. He then closed his eyes and gripped his Bo tight.
"Give me the weapons," Garmadon repeated. "Only I can destroy it. Or prepare to watch-"
"Quit your yammering and just do it!" Flash shouted before he tossed his Weapon to Garmadon. Knowing that Equestria was worth making a deal with the devil. "When you have a chance to make the blow, it has a weak spot near her forehead." The others soon gave their weapons to Garmadon.
"Uh, I don't think this needs to be said, but we're gonna need those back." Thunder told Garmadon.
Garmadon then let out an almost silent chuckle, he finally had the Weapons in hooves. He then turned to the Ninja, "I'll do my part. You just make sure she stays in one spot!" He told them before he ran off, laughing evilly the whole way.
"'Stays in one spot'? 'Stays in one spot'?!" Thunder repeatedly asked. "How are we supposed to do that?!" Before they saw the Devourer consume more before it shed its scales and group bigger.
"Don't forget: we're Ninja," Flash reminded as the Devourer saw him. "Hey you! Feeling hungry, you legless lizard!? Well, Flash Sentry is on the Menu!" he shouted as he flew away and the Devourer chased him through the streets.
Flash took sharp turns and dodged some debris as he led the Devourer to where he wanted to go before Trail tagged in. "On you, bro!"
"Leave it to me!" Trail told before he glared at the Devourer. "Come on, you overgrown worm, take the bait!" The Devourer glared at him before roaring, "Come and get me!" Trail shouted before he ran from it.
He zoomed through city, parking lots, roof tops until he reached Landrush's position. "Nice run. Now I'll take it from here," Landrush said as they hoof-bumped and he baited the Devourer this time. "Whoo-hoo!" he whooped as he ran into the public garden.
"I'll take it from here!" Gaia shouted to Landrush as she summoned a couple of vines that wrapped around her front hooves. "Come and eat your greens, you overgrown belt!" She then used the vines on her hooves to swing from building to building as the Devourer gave chase to her. She then ran into a construction area and passed by Thunder. "She's all yours, dear," she said as the Devourer looked around and saw Thunder.
"Looking for me?" he asked as the snake narrowed its eyes at him. It lunged but he dodged the attacks, then he used his powers to fly up the building as it tried to follow. Thunder made his way over to a construction site with the giant serpent on his tail. He soon leaped in the unfinished building just when the Devourer was about to bite down on him. He then used his elemental power to escape the bite and fly up the building where Frost is waiting at the top.
"What took you so long?" Frost asked as Thunder landed.
"Save the humor, Frost," Thunder said they started running. "Now's not the time."
"Instead of a fire escape, how about an ice escape?!" Frost quipped as they slid down an ice slide Frost made as the Devourer still chased them.
"Haha, nice one, Frost," Thunder laughed before he yelped after almost sliding off only for Frost to catch him. The two continue to ice surf away from the Great Devourer and Frost created more when the Devourer destroyed part of the slide. But then they ran out of ice and fly off as the Devourer opens its mouth wide. "No, no!" Thunder screamed as the Devourer prepared to fire again.
... But then at the last second, "NOW!" Ultra Dragon caught the two and missed the Devourer's jaws.
"That was close!" Wisp said as they flew with the rest of the Ninja on their back.
"You think it's working?" Thunder asked.
"We're about to find out," Flash said as they looked down from where the Devourer started chasing them to the end. They followed its long body through the buildings, down the alleys, through the garden, into the Construction area, and over the roof tops and soon saw the Devourer was hooked by its own tail and couldn't break free.
The Ninja cheered and landed with the others on the roof, "Wonderful job, friends! That revolting beast never knew what was really going on," Rarity declared.
Luna looked around and back at the Devourer still trying to shake loose as its weak spot was exposed. "Now where's Garmadon? That's not going to hold her for long!" she said as Lloyd looked up.
"Hey look!" They turned upwards as the skies turned dark and cloudy, where somepony was standing on top of the building over the Devourer's head. "Dad!" Garmadon glared down at the very snake that ruined his life as it looked at him, recognizing him as the same colt she bit all those years ago.
"You are the reason evil runs through my blood!" Garmadon spoke to the Devourer as dark energy surge through his horn and into the Golden Weapons. The clouds above him then started to swirl as he prepared to strike before a thunderbolt struck down an energy surge went everywhere. "You bit me once! Now feel what it's like to be bitten back!" Garmadon then leaped off the building and straight down towards the Devourer's weak spot.
"Go get her, Dad," Lloyd whispered as he saw his father fall.
Garmadon picked up speed as dove straight down the Serpent. "Vengeance will be mine!" he declared. Everycreature watched in awe as the Weapons glowed brighter as Garmadon neared the head.
But everyone was so distracted by Garmadon that nobody saw the smirk on the Devourer's face or heard the slight chuckle from it as it silent said in a male voice, "Fools."
Then in a blink of an eye, Garmadon stuck the Devourer's weak spot, as its eyes turned green and roared one last time before exploding into a tsunami of green slime that flooded the streets and scattered all over the city. Everyone in the city got covered in the green slime before they all cheered with excitement over the Devourer being gone for good.
"He did it," Thunder said.
"No, we did it!" Landrush corrected him as everyone in the city celebrated.
"AW YEAH!" Rainbow cheered as everycreature danced in the streets.
Down below in the tombs, the Serpentine heard creatures' voices of joy. "Issss that cheering?" the Constrictai General asked his fellow Generals.
"The Great Devourer mussst've been dessstroyed." the Fangpyre General guessed.
"Ssso Pythor'sss plan failed," the Venomari General said, not feeling bad at the loss of their mad leader.
Skales was in silent thought, realizing that with Pythor gone, there was now a void in the place of leadership for the Serpentine. "Sssomecreature has to lead now," he said, seeing an opportunity.
Back within the city, everycreature cheered for the Ninja and the Mane Six as well as the Young Seven for they have saved the day. "Ooh, our little Ninja," Scrip said as she and her husband hugged their son.
Step Rush approached with his group. "My son, hero of Equestria city!" he said as the two hugged.
Rose then approached Gaia with smile. "I couldn't be prouder of you if I tried, my dear Gaia," she said as the two hugged. Then Ultra Dragon landed behind them and Gaia ran up To Orchy's head.
"Haha, it's wonderful to have you back, my lovely Orchid," Gaia said as she hugged Orchy's head.
"Heh, the new voice is gonna take a while to get used to, but it's good to be back, Gaia," Orchy said as the Mane 6 and Young Seven reunited with their families as well.
Lloyd then looked around and realized something. "I don't see my dad," he told the others.
"He should be around here somewhere," Flash said as Frost was using his robotic eye to scan for any signs of Garmadon around.
"Your analysis is incorrect," Frost told him. "He is not here."
"Then our Golden Weapons are gone too," Landrush complained.
"Agh, we should've known he wouldn't give 'em back!" Applejack growled, throwing her hat to the ground.
Aqua then noticed a trail of six hoofprints leading out towards in alley, "Look, his hoof prints!" she said.
"I get the feeling we'll be seeing your father real soon," Trail said to Lloyd.
"I know, but that's what worries me," Lloyd said, knowing he still had to fight his father someday.
Twilight then ruffled his mane. "Hey, what matters now is that the Great Devourer is finally gone and everycreature is still here," she said.
Lloyd teared up a bit. "Not everycreature," he said sadly as they all looked down still saddened by the loss of-
"Look!" Luna cried out as they saw the two ponies in the goo down below.
"Sensei Wu!" Landrush smiled.
"Celestia?!" Twilight asked in surprised as they saw the two stand up and couldn't help but feel overjoyed. "They're alive!"
"Wow!" Aqua said.
"Hey would you look at that! They survived!" Thunder said as the jumped down and ran toward them. Wu and Celestia saw and held out their hooves with smile. Lloyd jumped into his uncle's hooves and hugged him while Luna, And Twilight hugged Celestia.
"I was so scared we'd never see you again!" Twilight cried with joy while Luna nuzzled her sister's chest.
"Shh, don't worry, my faithful student," Celestia comforted as the three pulled away. "I'm not going anywhere,"
Wu then put Lloyd down and waded through the slime, "I can't tell you how glad we are to see you!" he said, pulling out his teapot. "The Great Devourer left a very bad taste in my mouth." He then poured himself and Celestia two cups of tea. The two drank and smiled from the taste.
"Ahh, much better. And still hot!" Wu commented.
"I guess that's one good thing the Devourer could do: keep tea nice and warm," Celestia joked as they all laughed.
Cozy then remembered something and looked around, "Hey, what happened to Pythor?"
"We don't know," Celestia said. "Last we saw him, he fell into deeper into the Devourer's stomach."
"You don't think he was…" Ocellus gulped, "digested?"
They all shuddered. "That's not a pleasant way to go," Gallus commented.
"Just remember young ones, that's what happens to creatures like that," Mistmane told them just as Discord appeared with the five Serpentine eggs.
"Not saying this to add things on your plate, but these eggs are shaking," he said as he showed them they are.
"Oh my, they're hatching!" Fluttershy said excitedly as Discord gently placed the eggs down and they all watched as cracks began to form on them.
One by one the four eggs that Twilight cracked open, revealing a Sapphire blue and pink spotted Hypnobrai, a red and black Fangpyre, a sandy yellow and black Constrictai, and a lime green Venomari.
"Aww," they all said as the babies looked at them. Then Trail noticed the last egg.
"Hey Flash, looks like your egg still hasn't hatched yet," he said as they all turned to see the last egg. Before they could assume the egg was a dude, the shell cracked open as a long purple tail popped out of it, along with the rest of its body, minus it head covered by an eggshell. The ponies held their breath as they knew only one Serpentine species had purple skin.
"It's a... a..." Twilight started as the baby snake flipped off the egg shell on its revealing itself to be...
"An Anacondrai!?" the Ninja said in surprise as the baby Anacondrai smiled at them.
"Aaawww!" All the girls said.
"Huh, I guess with Pythor gone, this little guy's the last Anacondrai ever," Thunder said as Flash and Twilight picked up each baby Serpentine carefully.
"Girl. This little girl is the last one," Fluttershy said as she to look at them with a glimmer in her eyes. "Just as the Hypnobrai and Venomari are girls too. And both the Fangpyre and Constrictai are boys."
"Heh, well it's good to have you and Celestia back, Uncle," Lloyd said, turning back to her uncle while the others looked at the baby Serpentine. "But my father left and took the Golden Weapons with him!"
"Ah, very true," Wu said as he placed a hoof on Lloyd's shoulder. "The ability of the Weapons is truly great, but the ability to better oneself makes you limitless."
"I couldn't have said it any better myself," Star Swirl said.
"Besides, we have what is most important: you," Flash said, placing a hoof on Lloyd's shoulder with a smile
Wu smiled. "The pupils have become the masters," he said.
"Am I really gonna have to fight my father one day?" Lloyd asked.
"One day. But today we can feel good that Equestria is saved, for tomorrow you will train for the day," Celestia answered and walked around them. "Good will finally face evil and a final outcome will be decided for all of time."
"Uh, but don't worry. We're gonna teach you everything we know," Trail said.
"Train you until you find your own True Potential," Gaia added.
"And make sure you're prepared for that fight!" Thunder spoke up.
"Because as we all know, good will always stand up to evil," Landrush joined in.
"And Ninja will always stand up for what is right," Frost said.
"Because Ninja never quit!" Flash finished as the other smiled and the seven Ninja jumped into the air.
"Go, Ninja. Go!" They declared.
Pinkie then smiled. "Come everycreature, let's get this party back on track!" she said as everycreature got to work rebuilding the city.
Down below in the sewers, a blob of slime rested on the side. And then a white and purple hand burst out of it as a familiar Serpentine wheezed and gasped for air and crawling out of the slime. "What? What happened?" Pythor asked, his voice low and raspy, he then looked down at the water below him and he was horrified to see that his purple and black scaly exterior had turned white and purple.
"No. No! NNNOOO!" Pythor roared with anger. He then scowled with hatred, knowing who was responsible for this. "You will pay for this, Ninja! And so will you, Celestia! I promise you… will.. pay..." With that, Pythor slithered off into the darkness, vowing revenge upon all who wronged him.
Later that night, near the statues of Tirek and Chrysalis stood Garmadon with an evil grin on his face. "You both nearly had Equestria as yours. One took the place of Princess Cadence, while the other stole magic from everypony. But in the end, this was your fate," he told the statues before he held up the Golden Weapons. "But if I'm going to rule Equestria, I'm going to need some backup."
His power flow through the weapons before he blasted the statues with a beam from all six Weapons.
The statue began to crack and crumble and then in a burst of light, Queen Chrysalis and Lord Tirek collapse on the ground, dazed and confused.
"What? What happened?!" Tirek asked holding his head.
"Where am I?" Chrysalis asked before she looked ahead and saw Garmadon smirking at them. She then stood up and hissed, "Who are you? What do you want?!"
Tirek stood up as well but he squinted at the stallion and then gasped. "Lord Garmadon? Is that you?" He asked.
Garmadon nodded. "It's been a long time, Tirek," he said pleasantly as he offered Tirek some magic, restoring the centaur's vitality and strength, before turning to Chrysalis. "As for why I released you Chrysalis, I require some help, in turning Equestria into my image."
Tirek and Chrysalis glanced at each other before turning to Garmadon. "Is revenge involved in this?" Tirek asked.
"Oh revenge, and so much more…" Garmadon promised with a devious smirk. Tirek and Chrysalis smirked back and nodded.
"We're in," Chrysalis said as Tirek crossed his arms.
Garmadon smirk grew, "Excellent, then together we will defeat the Ninja and Council of Friendship, and then! We will claim Equestria as ours!" he declared as all three of them erupted with evil laughter into the night.
