Detective Fitzroy knocked on his father's office door, he just wanted to get this done and over with. The door opened and the younger Fitzroy entered and sat down. "I was surprised to hear you were staying at Miss Scarlet's home after being shot, instead of coming home to your family." Oliver shook his head, "I was told this was official Scotland Yard business not a guilt trip, and yes, I accepted Miss Eliza Scarlet's invitation to rest at her home where I am being taken care of by her cousin Miss Alexandra Scarlet who is trained in medicine." Commissioner Fitzroy chose to ignore most of what his injured son had to say, "You were called in to be formally given an invitation for a special occasion to celebrate the work done by Scotland Yard in solving the case of the abducted women, where your promotion to Inspector will be announced." Oliver argued, "I am sure Miss Eliza Scarlet and Miss Alexandra Scarlet will be invited and celebrated as well for their contributions as they were a key part in the investigation? If they are not I will not be attending or accepting a promotion." Commissioner Fitzroy became irate, "What in the hell is it with these Scarlet women and their hold over Scotland Yard? I am not happy but if it means you accept the position I have worked so hard to get you..." Oliver stood up slamming his hands down on his father's desk, "Excuse me? That you have worked hard for? I refuse to accept any position until Inspector Wellington deems me ready, he has been the one working hard to ready me for the position." Commissioner Fitzroy was taken back, "Well then I guess you will be overjoyed to learn Inspector Wellington's secondment was cut short due to our need of him here and he requested to be the one to announce your promotion." Oliver on inside was thrilled he could never let his father see that though, "Will the Inspector reprise his position here in this jurisdiction?" His father nodded and replied, "Should you accept you will be taking Phelp's position as he is transferring to Dublin, Inspector Wellington should be arriving in a 9 days which will give him a week to settle before the celebration and returning to the office." Oliver didn't settle, "You know my stipulations on accepting the position, Miss Eliza Scarlet deserves more credit than we do for solving that case. Miss Alexandra Scarlet was beyond brave considering she herself had been a victim of these men, and she tended to me after being shot. It's time to give credit where it's due." Commissioner Fitzroy nodded, "I am glad you are okay son, I am assuming you will let the Miss Scarlets know of their invitation and that they will be included in the celebration. I look forward to meeting this Miss Alexandra Scarlet you speak so highly of. You are dismissed." Commissioner Fitzroy watched his son leave, he was proud of the man he was becoming, Oliver was right it was all due to Inspector Wellington.

Oliver left Scotland Yard, he stopped at Inspector Wellington's to get a change of clothes before returning to the Scarlet's with his news. He grabbed what mail was there and saw a letter from Inspector Wellington.

Detective Fitzroy,

Thank you for keeping me posted about the happenings at Scotland Yard. New York is very much the same as London, crime apparently is the same everywhere. I received a telegram from Scotland Yard that I am to return at once. I have been informed of a high profile case that you have been key in solving and that there is to be a celebration! I know you have been shot as well, please take time to heal. I have offered to present your promotion to you. I look forward to being home and working with you soon.

I have only told you about coming home. I want to surprise Eliza by showing up at Ivy's wedding. Thank you for keeping an eye on her. I know it isn't easy. Especially now that her cousin is home with her, those two used to run circles around anyone and everyone when they were younger and I am sure they still are.

I look forward to seeing you soon. Don't worry about having to move out, we will sort it out later.

Inspector Wellington

Fitzroy put the letter in his pocket. It would be tough not telling Eliza. He couldn't wait to let Ivy and Allie know. He knocked on the door to Eliza's home, Ivy came to the door and asked him how the meeting with his father went. Fitzroy said he would like to discuss it when everyone is together as he has an invitation to share. Ivy was excited to hear, and said that Eliza and Allie were busy working on some final details of the wedding that were to be a surprise for her and Mr. Potts. Fitzroy raised his eyebrows wondering what they were up to, but it was a perfect time to let Ivy know about the Inspector returning and planning to surprise Eliza at the wedding, and that she needed to keep it a secret. Ivy couldn't believe her ears she was overwhelmed by the good news and gave Fitzroy a hug, "You have made my heart so happy today."

Eliza and Allie were headed home after a long day of ordering floral arrangements, dress shopping, and scheduling a dress maker to come and see Ivy. Allie insisted on ordering a cake as well. Eliza loved that Allie was gifting Ivy the wedding she deserved and letting her be part of it. Eliza and Allie picked out a locket as Ivy's wedding gift from them. It was being engraved and then would be ready for pick up in a few days. Everything was going as planned and they just needed to be home before Ivy shooed the dressmaker away. Allie told Eliza today was good experience for when they get engaged as they will have an idea of what they want. Eliza thought she had kept the thought to herself, but the way Allie looked at her she knew it had been said out loud, "I just want William." Allie grabbed on to Eliza's arm and whispered in her ear, "Then let's go get him."

Eliza laughed out loud, "You really would, wouldn't you! You would just go get on a boat right now!" Allie boasted, "Hell yes I would if the love of my life tried to teach me a lesson and sailed across the ocean to get me to realize my feelings. I would for you too, and I would go with you to get him!" Eliza lightly grabbed Allie's arm, "Let's get through Ivy's wedding first."
