Allie and Eliza came in through the back kitchen door and found Ivy busy at the table folding towels. Ivy had the biggest smile on her face when they were discussing all the things they were leading her to believe they had accomplished. Soon there was a knock on the door, Eliza jumped up, "I will get it!" Ivy looked surprised, "My goodness what has gotten into her?" Allie smiled and asked Ivy if she could show her something, "Why does it feel like you two girls are back in your old ways of trying to get away with something?" Allie linked her arm with Ivy, "Ivy how could you think that?" Allie led her into the drawing room, Ivy looked at her confused and went in. The dressmaker had brought several bolts of fabric and several dress samples. Eliza grinned, "Ivy, Jane is here to get what she needs to make your wedding clothes." Ivy surprised covered her mouth, "Girls, this is too much." Allie was still linked at the elbow with Ivy and whispered to her, "No Ivy, you deserve so much more." Eliza and Allie left Ivy with Jane to discuss what she always dreamed of getting married in.

Allie and Eliza went back into the kitchen where they started to prepare tea and sandwiches for a late lunch. Fitzroy had been in his room resting when he heard the ladies walk by. He came into the kitchen and asked if he could be of any help. "How was your meeting with your dad?" Allie asked. Fitzroy started setting the table and said, "As soon as Ivy comes back I will share everything that happened." Allie placed the sandwiches on the table and sat beside Fitzroy. Eliza asked Fitzroy with a smirk, "How is your arm? Is Allie taking care of all your needs?" Fitzroy choked on his spit, and Allie leaned closer and placed her hand on his and playfully asked, "Am I meeting your needs adequately?" Fitzroy smiled mischievously, "I have no complaints, she is very thorough with her cares." Allie's face turned bright red.

Ivy entered the kitchen, surprised to see lunch ready Ivy sat down. "Well?" Eliza asked curiously to Ivy. "You all have made an old woman very happy," Ivy said tearfully. Fitzroy took his spoon and tapped it lightly against his tea cup to get their attention and let the ladies know of the visit with his father and the invitation to the celebration being held in their honor. Eliza looked at Fitzroy quizzically, "That's highly unlikely of the commissioner to recognize anyone else especially myself. He usually lets Scotland Yard have all the glory. What did you do to get him to include us?" Fitzroy stated in matter of fact way, "I told him I would refuse my promotion publicly at the celebration, which determines my worth to him, if he did not give credit where it was due." Eliza was stunned, "That means the world to me, thank you!" They excitedly talked about Ivy's dress and what this celebration would do for Eliza's business. Fitzroy leaned over to Allie, "I was hoping you might like to join me for a walk later?" Allie answered, "I would love to."

Allie was dreading tomorrow. Sunday meant Fitzroy returning to his home and she was afraid if he no longer needed her help with his arm, they would drift apart.
