The reviews so far have been really positive so I'm glad people actually like this one a lot! Not many questions to answer but a few people did ask about more Fate elements and if 'Merlin' will act like a troll so to speak. And eventually he will become more like Merlin, especially after the main Overlord events start. In terms of him making NPC's, a few people asked about the Knights of Camelot to be the NPCs that he creates and that's something I'll have to think about. Because all of the Knights are human, unless you say Artoria is draconic with her core and stuff. And if Merlin legitimately joins Ainz Ooal Gown later on, then it may be difficult to write them in. Unless anyone has a good idea then I am all ears. Also someone asked about Merlin's powers and abilities. More abilities from his [Magus of Flowers] class will be revealed and when he gets to the 'new world' then some abilities will be changed like how Momonga's get changed.

A small table was now in the centre of the tower and the seats were filled by five players. Merlin sat at the head of the table with Touch-Me to his left and Momonga to his right. Nishiki was to the right of Momonga and Takemi was to the left of Touch-Me.
"So what do you know so far?" the ninja Nishiki leaned forward.
"I don't have much" Merlin sighed with a frowning emoji next to him "But I did scout the area directly". Merlin then gestured to his left and the mirror of remote viewing was beside him. He gave it a small tap and it 'sprung to life' where he was observing the black mass beforehand.
"Whoa… what the heck is that?" Momonga looked at the mirror from his seat.
"Looks like a necrotic shroud of sorts" Nishiki hummed then looked back to Merlin "And you said you investigated it?"
Merlin nodded "It was really weird. It just appeared out of nowhere so I scouted it using the mirror but couldn't really find much. I casted a few defence spells and anti-detection spells before I entered the fog. The only thing I could gain from the fog was that it was incredibly poisonous. Almost to the point where my base stats could barely keep up with it".
"Poison?" Takemi said with a small question mark appearing by his head.
Merlin only nodded before Touch-Me spoke next "So it didn't give you necrotic damage?"
"That's right"
"Well what else did you see?" Nishiki questioned.
"I reached the 'eye of the storm' and found some NPC shrouded in a black fog crouching by a small river". He then used [Clairvoyance] along with [Distant Vision] to have a screen appear and show the 'eye of the storm'. "I casted [Clairvoyance] to see if I could get a visual later".
"All the plants are dead" Takemi observed "I don't see a figure in black mist though"
"It must have left the area. Or it is simply evading the spell" Merlin guessed.
"Did you cast any spells to determine its level?" Touch-Me inquired.
"Not one hundred percent sure. But I did cast [Discern Enemy] and [Detect Life] and the only thing I got was that it was above level one hundred and wasn't an undead".
"That really isn't much to go on…" Nishiki leaned back and crossed his arms.
"I'm assuming it does have either [Truesight] or [See Invisibility] as a skill because it saw through my anti-detection spells".
"So basically it's an unknown NPC above level one hundred" Momonga started "Has a very potent poison at its disposal and could either be a caster or physical fighter".
"Pretty much. My personal guess is on a physical fighter" Merlin shrugged again "It did drop a vile of sorts so maybe we can venture into the area and find it".
"It could give us a clue" Touch-Me agreed.
"Well I don't know about you" Nishiki started "but we're all heteromorphs here so we should be able to get in there since we all have a poison resistance. Not to mention good ol Momonga is a Lich and is immune to poison".
"I'll be fine" Merlin stood up "we should be careful because this boss could still be there and is hidden from my [Clairvoyance]"
"I agree" Touch-Me stood "If you would be so kind as to give us a few buffs before we enter. Just in case".
Merlin nodded as the rest stood up "Follow me and I'll lead you there" he then moved to the edge of the tower and brought the lift around to them so they could all descend together.
Once the group made it to the ground and set off towards the mass of fog. Takemi started a conversation "So… how do you know Touch-Me and Momonga?"
"I helped Momonga when he was in trouble with some PKers and Touch-Me happened to be there as well".
"You must be pretty tough to take out a party of PKers" Takemi seemed interested.
"Nah it was nothing" Merlin tried to wave off "They were probably only level fifty or seventy and I had a small amount of prep time"
"Either way" Takemi continued "I would be honoured if you would face me in battle"
Merlin sent a smile emoji towards the samurai "If you help me out with this. Then you got yourself a deal".
"Don't start finding a new rival now" Nishiki joked "Touch-Me might get jealous"
"I most certainly would not be jealous" this got a few chuckles out of everyone.
"Have you guys known each other for a while?" Merlin asked.
"We met about a month or so ago" Momonga supplied "Touch-Me started a clan recently and we've been looking for more people to join".
Merlin looked to Touch-Me "Was this the one you talked about a few months ago?"
"Yes it is" Touch-Me confirmed "I have named it Nine's Own Goal"
"Are there nine of you?"
An embarrassed emoji appeared next to Touch-Me "No not exactly. There's two more other than us four right now"
"Are you only recruiting nine members?"
"I plan on inviting anyone that meets the criteria"
"And that would be?"
"A heteromorphic player who desires to either help protect the innocent, a working member of society, or to be protected and make friends"
Merlin nodded at that "Seems like a pretty 'noble' cause"
"I extend the offer I made previously" Touch-Me spoke.
"I'll have to think about it"
"Aren't you a human?" Nishiki asked.
"Only half human" Merlin responded.
"Huh… neat. I mean I'm half golem, but I sort of look the part"
"If we're all sharing" Merlin continued "I'm a half incubus so I can freely change my form as a racial trait. I can't make myself a dragon or anything, but I can adjust my height and such or take on the base appearance of someone. Just without armour and weapons".
"What's the difference between a full incubus and a half one?" Momonga asked.
"Basically I'm not as weak to holy magic as a full incubus but I don't have as high of a resistance to things like poison or necrotic damage. I get almost the best of both sides. Not to mention a half incubus can learn skills from both sides".
"Guess that makes sense" Momonga nodded.
"I myself am a Nephilim" Takemikazuchi supplied "not much else to say other than the fact I'm a close range fighter. But it's also easy to guess what everyone else is just by looking".
"Haha, guess it is pretty obvious" Merlin sent a smile emoji. "Anyways we're almost there so I'll apply some buffs now just in case. [Greater Resistance] [Greater Magic Shield] [Greater Luck]"
"I'll hide myself but stick close by" Nishiki then seemingly disappeared.
Touch-Me went to the front "I'll take point. Takemikazuchi, you take the rear to protect Merlin and Momonga".
"Got it" Takemi nodded and got into position.
Merlin and Momonga approved of the plan so they didn't oppose it. Merlin did ask Momonga a question though "Just so I know. What level are you now?"
"I'm level eighty now. I'm trying to go for the [Eclipse] class you talked about" Momonga replied. "But I need to be level ninety five so I still have a ways to go".
"Good. You should be able to hold your own. Keep some summoning spells on hand in case things get hairy"
"Already on it"
.

.
The party slowly advanced into the black fog and made sure to stick close together just in case. Nobody was harmed from the poison since everyone was level one hundred, besides Momonga but he's a Lich and immune to poison. Eventually they broke through the fog and entered the center of it all. The area was still decayed and rotting, as they had seen before. But there was no NPC shrouded in black mist in the area.
Momonga's [See Invisibility] trait and Merlin's detection spells didn't find anything so they relaxed themselves somewhat. Nishiki appeared next to the party and was no longer in stealth mode "Well this sucks. There really is no one here".
"We should count ourselves lucky" Touch-Me spoke up "This gives us time to investigate and prepare".
Momonga looked to Merlin "Didn't you say he dropped a vile?"
"Yeah it was somewhere by the river just up ahead" Merlin replied while walking over to the river and casting [Locate Object] to find the vile. A path appeared before him to the vile so he bent down to pick it up from the ground. The vile itself didn't seem too out of the ordinary but there was a very tiny amount of some liquid left in it.
"That's the one?" Takemi inspected it.
"Yea it was" Merlin then cast an [All Appraisal Magic Item] and a few other spells to try and identify where it came from. "The vile itself is just an ordinary vile… but the poison was made somewhere in Helheim".
"You think we should go to Helheim to find this guy?" Takemi suggested.
"The devs wouldn't make it that easy" Nishiki responded "We probably need to solve some grand puzzle or just get lucky enough to spot him".
"I'm inclined to agree" Touch-Me nodded.
Momonga then had an idea "Do you think he poisoned the river? Why wouldn't it just poison some other area?"
"That would make sense" Takemi agreed.
"If I remember correctly…" Merlin hummed a little "Following this river leads to one of the major Álfheim villages…"
"So it's poisoning rivers that lead into major settlements?" Touch-Me questioned "truly an evil being"
"It seems the most likely" Merlin agreed with Touch-Me "But is this thing only poisoning Álfheim? Or the other realms as well?"
"We could check the forums" Momonga brought up "that way we can see if it's strictly in Álfheim".
"I guess that's what we'll do then" Merlin agreed with Momonga's idea "I'll teleport us back to the tower and I guess we'll just have to play the waiting game until we hear more news".
"It is getting pretty late so we may just have to sleep on it and wait for more info to arise" Touch-Me brought up. "I work tomorrow personally".
"Same" the rest of the group agreed.
"I have the next two days off so I'll keep looking around the forums until then and I'll let you guys know what I find. Deal?"
"Deal" the rest responded before they disappeared in a flash.

1 Day Later
Merlin had spent the rest of the night browsing the forums in search of where this mysterious boss went. A few hours after everyone logged off, multiple posts were made on Yggdrasil's forums. A few mentioned a black fog appearing in 'random' areas and even a few players actually being poisoned for drinking the water in the area. It was mostly beginner players since water could only provide very minimal buffs like certain skill cool downs and stamina regen. Generally players past level twenty don't care about that stuff, but a lot of beginners were complaining on the forums that they had died from it.
Only one person had caught a glimpse similar to what Merlin saw. But he was a level seventy warrior and was killed before he could attempt escape. The guy wasn't one shot, but he was destroyed within a few minutes. His explanations of the boss's skills were limited since he didn't put enough pressure on the boss to force it to use any. But at least it was now known it was some kind of physical fighter that may be wielding a large weapon that could be a sword. People stayed up all night trying to pinpoint the boss's location, but no luck on that front.
Closer to 'night time' for Sato, or Merlin, was when more info was being posted about this boss. So far the only realms not to be hit by this boss were Jötunheim, Vanaheim, Asgard, and Niflheim. Vanaheim made sense since it was, lore wise, inhabited by 'old' gods like Freya. She was a raid boss, but was only sought after by evil players since fighting her was considered evil. So lore wise it made sense that this boss hadn't gone there yet, but was still odd.
Jötunheim was the realm of the giants and was also a decently high levelled area in terms of random mobs. Giants were tanks that usually take a while to take down, unless you're a very high level. Not to mention the multitude of other high levelled creatures within. Realms in Yggdrasil were basically unlocked forever after you first get there, unless you followed a quest line to get banned from a realm. And Jötunheim was one of the harder realms to actually gain access to.
Asgard was pretty self-explanatory.
And Niflheim was probably the second or so easiest realm to get into next to Midgard. It certainly had its fair share of challenging raids like the Nidhug raid. But was considered to be relatively easy in terms of quests. It was also possible that this boss just hadn't appeared there yet, so maybe scouting out the area there would be a good idea.
With a set goal in mind, Sato dived into Yggdrasil and spawned within his tower. No one was online yet and he didn't want to wait, so he made his way to Niflheim to investigate. It was incredibly dangerous to go alone and other people had probably come to the same conclusion as him, so there was bound to be a fair amount of high level players in the area.
It had been some time since Merlin had been to Niflheim. If Helheim was the realm of fire and heat, Niflheim was the exact opposite. Most of Niflheim was full of mist, cold and ice so it was difficult in some aspects if you didn't have anything to combat the cold in some areas. But once again, being level one hundred had its perks.
Merlin let out a 'breath' and saw a small misty cloud come from his avatars mouth. He currently found himself in a seemingly random forested area, but it was your average spawn point within Niflheim that wasn't a village.
Looking around didn't reveal anything immediately and there wasn't much he could do, other than head to one of the nearest rivers and start searching for signs of poisoned water. There were a few areas that came to mind right off the top of his head. Hvergelmir was a large spring which had basically all of the rivers connected to it. Merlin couldn't remember all the rivers names but it was a good place to start since they were all connected to it.
Merlin had a long way to go so he sent a quick message to Touch-Me and the others to tell them where he was and what he was doing. They probably wouldn't be online for a little bit so he just continued onwards.
The way towards Hvergelmir was fairly dull. A few players were seen along the way, but they were ignored since he didn't want to start a fight with a possible level one hundred party. All the mist certainly helped in Merlin's stealth but [Complete Vision] helped him keep an eye on the parties.
After trying his best to stealth towards Hvergelmir, he finally saw something worth mentioning. A party of five was heading in a straight line towards Hvergelmir. Merlin made sure to keep his distance and observe the party from the safety of a small forest.
They were an all non-heteromorph party consisting of a Dark Elf magic caster, a Human cleric, a Half Elf ranger and two human paladins/ knights. The Dark Elf wore a simple deep blue magic robe and was wearing rings on all his fingers. The cleric was wearing a standard white priestess outfit. The ranger wore a pretty basic looking set of cloth and leathers. And finally the two knights/paladins wore similar sets of full plate armour and one of them was wielding a sword and shield while the other wielded a claymore.
Merlin was too far away to hear what they were saying and didn't want to risk casting a spell to listen in, especially since they had two confirmed magic users with them. So he had a better idea that may just work.
He then casted a silent summoning spell and summoned one of his familiars. This spell differed from the average [Find Familiar] since it could be used to summon something completely unique to the [Magus of Flowers] class.
'[Silent Summon: Cath Palug]' Merlin thought in his mind as a small *poof* was heard next to him as a white and purple squirrel like creature appeared next to him. It looked to Merlin with its beady purple eyes and awaited an order. "Follow them. Don't be spotted" he gave the basic order 'It'd be nice to give more in depth orders but technology isn't that far yet'.
Cath Palug was a very unique summon for a few reasons. For one it was actually a decently powerful summon for its size. It had a 'true form' that basically made it a level seventy creature that had some pretty broken abilities, but other than that, it was around level thirty in terms of health and what not in its 'base'. It was also pretty much immune to most divination spells that could detect it. It could still be detected visually and be discerned using [Discern Enemy] though. Cath Palug was basically a 'cat' from Welsh legend that killed a lot of people. Almost a perfect little scout.
It gave a quiet "Fou!" in acknowledgement before hopping over in the direction of the party. It blended in fairly well with the scenery and reached the group with relative ease. Once it reached the group, Merlin used a spell so he could hear what Cath Palug was hearing.
"Geez… Forgot how far away the lake thing is from spawn" the claymore knight complained.
"Considering all the rivers are connected to it" the cleric responded "the boss could easily be there. And it's a spring, not a lake".
"But like… why the water?" the same knight asked.
"Doesn't matter to me" sword and shield knight shrugged "I just hope we can find this thing and be the first ones to beat it".
"Think there will be a world item as a drop?" Half Elf ranger asked.
"Bruh I got no idea" sword and shield knight shrugged again "be amazing though"
"I just wish we could go into this knowing more info…" Dark Elf sighed with a depressed emoji.
"Well it poisons people and fights physically" Cleric thought aloud "Guess I'll just have to buff our poison res at a set interval".
"I'm just surprised we haven't run into any other players yet" ranger spoke up.
"If we did" sword and shield started "We could easily take em!"
Not even a second after that line was spoken, the ranger stood on alert "INCOMING!" he shouted as a massive explosion rocked them.
Cath Palug was just barely outside the blast radius so Merlin used a mental command to recall him then had him climb up onto his shoulder. 'Looks like another party is trying to take out the competition' Merlin thought to himself as another party of players surrounded the party he was following. 'Gives me the perfect opportunity to sneak by and get there first' he thought to himself before using the forest to sneak around the two opposing parties.
.
.
.
'Man… Definitely got lucky there' Merlin thought to himself as he passed the tree line and exited the forest. "One wrong move and I would've been caught up in that" he mumbled the last part. He looked to Cath Palug on his shoulder and patted him 'guess I just keep going'.
The rest of the journey to Hvergelmir went fairly smoothly and before Merlin knew it, he was at the spring. Hvergelmir was certainly a breathtaking sight. It was almost eerie with all the mist, but it certainly had a charm to it that you couldn't deny. A quick visual scan of the area didn't reveal anything so Merlin approached the spring and kneeled down. He casted an appraisal spell on the water and it didn't seem to be poisoned.
"So he may just not be here yet… Doubt he'll show up" Merlin mumbled aloud while staring at his reflection.
"Fou!" he heard from his shoulder as Cath Palug hopped down and took an offensive stance.
Merlin quickly raised his head and was forced to dive out of the way from an attack. A black blur had blitzed passed him and skidded to a stop within a cloud of kicked up snow. The snow slowly dissipated, only to show a large figure shrouded in black mist.
"Oh… I really should've waited for backup" Merlin quickly stood up and prepared for battle as the boss he was searching for had appeared. "This is why I don't like to interfere with stuff directly" he huffed before throwing up a [Wall of Flowers] to block a charge from the boss. "Even though I'm seeking this out on my own… which is literally the opposite".
With a second strike, the shrouded boss burst through the [Wall of Flowers] and struck Merlin directly in the chest and sent him back. He looked to his HP bar and saw that the strike had taken away ten percent of his health. The boss suddenly flicked its right arm and the black mist extended to form a blade that was still shrouded in fog.
"Shit. [Body of Effulgent Heliodor] [Haste]" two rays of light appeared from under Merlin before he was forced to move once again. [Body of Effulgent Heliodor] was a tenth level spell that reduced the effectiveness of slashing weapons and it also would allow one slashing attack to be negated. [Haste] was a third tier spell that increased ones speed.
Merlin didn't have enough time to cast any other defensive spells and was forced to dodge another head on attack from the boss. It's 'eyes' lit up a bright green before a large green wave of energy was released from the sword. With not much time to dodge, Merlin decided to block the spell with another [Wall of Flowers]. This did work in his favour since it physically obstructed the bosses' vision.
"[Boost Magic: Shield Wall]" the flowers dispersed to show that nothing really happened. When the boss tried to step forward, it hit an invisible wall. The spell wouldn't last for long so Merlin had to think of something as the boss pounded at the wall and was sending cracks throughout it.
'Okay what can I do? I know illusion spells probably won't work since it potentially has [True Sight] and I don't want to waste the magic. It's a high level boss so it must have [Time Stop] resistance and I'm not busting out super tier magic so early'. His thoughts were interrupted by a ping on his HUD, Momonga and the others had appeared online. 'It'll take them a few minutes to get here and I don't have the time to send a message'.
"Go get Touch-Me and the others" Merlin looked to a bundle of fluff that was hiding in the snow. He got a small sound of acknowledgement before Cath Palug ran behind him and back into the forest. "Now it's just you and me… [Magic Boost] [Penetrate Up] [Delay Magic: Call Greater Thunder] [Delay Magic: Explosion] [Triple Maximize Magic: Drifting Master Mine]" Merlin called out his spells before the barrier was broken by the hulking boss. A second after the barrier broke, a massive thunder bolt came from the sky and directly impacted the boss and was quickly followed by a large explosion that almost engulfed the entire area.
A large cloud of smoke and snow was in the air but dispersed as the boss casually took the hits and charged forward. 'So he isn't wearing armour, or at least not much, under that fog. Or else [Call Greater Thunder] would've done more damage'. He didn't move from his spot and watched as a mine suddenly rammed into the boss and sent it skidding slightly. Merlin then casted [Life Essence] to take a look at the bosses health, but couldn't see any values. 'So that fog of his blocks attempts at seeing his stats is my guess. Hopefully its second phase removes the fog so I can gauge his stats'.
The boss quickly recovered and chased after Merlin who was making the full use of [Haste] and was attempting to evade. He was met with success but was extremely wary 'Even with haste, this thing should be kicking my ass' he thought to himself as a rush of pink flowers blindsided the boss. 'I think it's time I bust out some more powerful spells'.
"[Boost Magic: Twine Plant]" thick vines suddenly burst from the ground and ensnared the boss. "[Stream of Flowers]" a literal tsunami of pink flowers rushed from behind Merlin and completely covered the boss in flowers. [Stream of Flowers] was basically the tenth tier spell [Stream of Lava] which was a divine spell that dealt a fair amount of fire damage and was unique to [Magus of Flowers]. In this case it had an initial bludgeoning damage on impact, followed by slashing damage. 'Now this next one is gonna take a good chunk of magic' Merlin thought while preparing his next spell.
A few seconds later, the [Stream of Flowers] ended "[Triple Maximize Magic: Reality Slash!]" He shouted as three translucent blades appeared from a swish of his staff and rushed the boss. [Reality Slash] was one of the highest damaging spells in Yggdrasil, plus it virtually ignored any form of defense so it would be a good way to get some good damage in. But it also drained a lot of magic, especially if you casted it with [Triple Maximize Magic] to add three blades and a large damage boost.
All three slashes converged on the boss who stood still and his eyes flashed green. It sidestepped the first slash, jumped over the second slash, but was hit by the third directly in the chest. The slash left a visible slash in the shadow like armour. 'So he isn't wearing armour on his torso' Merlin thought as the fog was receded on his chest. He could see a bare torso and a slash made on his skin.
The boss reared its head back and let out an angry yell as its aura flailed wildly. 'Guess I have to remove the fog from him in one attack or else it regenerates the fog. Or hit him with multiple attacks in rapid succession so he can't regenerate it fast enough '.
Unfortunately for Merlin, the boss seemed to take a wilder stance and rushed at him with even greater speed. He couldn't react to the coming hit and was hit by the boss's sword as if it was a baseball bat.Merlin flung through the air but didn't have time to recover and was batted into the ground by the boss's sword.
"[Greater Teleportation!]" Merlin called out as he flashed pink and then re appeared on the opposite end of the spring. 'Good thing [Body of Effulgent Heliodor] was active. Negated the first hit but the second hit was bad'. Even with the first attack nullified, the second attack took an even bigger chunk of HP from him than the first hit he took in the fight. 'Must've spurred on a pseudo second phase' He thought while re applying [Body of Effulgent Heliodor]. His avatar had a large slash in its stomach so he casted [Regenerate] to have the glowing pink wound be filled with flowers and slowly heal. 'I could've passively regenerated from that. But I need the extra boost if I'm going to be in this fight longer'.
The boss let out another roar and rushed towards the spring. With a bend of its knees, it jumped extremely high into the air and was halfway across the lake, but then a glowing ball of orange came out of nowhere and exploded against the boss and flung him into the spring. '[Drifting Master Mine] for the win' Merlin smirked as the boss was slowly rising from the spring.
"[Penetrate Maximize Magic: Call Greater Thunder!]" Merlin called out as a bolt of lightning descended from the sky and crashed into the spring. 'The penetrate magic should be able to pierce that magical fog of his and the added effect of him being in the water should enhance the effect by a good amount'.
The boss continued to roar as it was electrocuted. A large amount of water was shot from the spring and had covered the area momentarily as if it was raining. It also caused an extremely large amount of mist to fill the area. Merlin kept himself ready as he knew for a fact the fight wasn't over.
It was a waiting game at this point. Who would be the one to strike next?
Merlin got his answer in the form of a figure charging through the mist and water. This figure hit him with a shoulder charge and sent him tumbling out of the water and mist. Merlin quickly recovered and looked up to the figure that slowly walked from the mist.
There were two flashes of green as something stepped out from the mist that slowly was dispersing. They stood at around nine feet tall and only wore black armour on their hands and feet. A small mop of wild green hair was on the persons head, followed by a set of green eyes, a wild face and a relatively skinny body. The small portions of armour had glowing green lines running through them and his right gauntlet was almost double the size of the other and it held onto a black sword that was almost bigger than him and was still radiating a small amount of the black fog.
Merlin quickly casted [Discern Enemy] to be able to see the bosses name and level. What he saw was interesting.
Qanir, God of Extermination
Level: 150
'Qanir? Never heard of a god like that… is he an original addition?' Merlin thought as he cautiously observed the boss. He then casted [Life Essence] and was somewhat shocked at his HP. 'Even after all of that… he still has almost three quarters of his HP left? I bet this is a second phase now so he's probably gotten even stronger'. Merlin took a glance at his own HP and MP 'Less than half my MP left and my HP is at three quarters from just a couple hits. It's regenerating pretty quick but still…'
Qanir took a step forward with a menacing grin "You will not stop me from exterminating the world and to start it anew!" he shouted before taking a stance and was about to rush.
Just as he was about to take a step, a small mass of shadows sprouted from underneath him and held him in place. Before Qanir could break out of it, he was suddenly slashed in the back and sent off balance.
'Was that [Shadow Bind] and [Hobble]?'
"[Dimensional Slash]!" Merlin heard as the shining figure of Touch-Me appeared from seemingly nowhere and slashed into the boss before joining Merlin's side.
"Glad you guys could make it" Merlin sent a smile emoji.
"Of course we made it! Now let us work together to take down this monster!"
"[Grasp Heart]!" the familiar voice of Momonga was heard from behind Merlin. He turned to see Momonga holding a transparent heart in his hand before crushing it. [Grasp Heart] was basically an instant kill spell, but even if it was resisted, it still stunned and stupefied the target.
"Now Takemikazuchi!" Touch-Me called out as Takemikazuchi seemed to appear from out of nowhere as well.
He was wielding a different Katana that Merlin hadn't seen the last time, it was a massive Odachi that had a gold handle and was wrapped in white while only showing gold diamond shapes along the handle. He started to absolutely wail on the boss while using abilities like [Razor Edge] and [Slash All] to absolutely chunk Qanir's health. He then joined the rest of the group along with the half golem Nishikienrai as the boss broke free from his restraints and was over the momentary stun and stupefy. All five of the players stood opposite of the boss.
"What can you tell us about this guy?" Nishiki asked.
"I'm guessing you can already tell he's a physical fighter. Other than that, he has some shadow armour that appears on him if we don't keep a consistent amount of DPS. It took a few combinations of [Reality Slash], [Drifting Master Mine], [Explosion] and [Call Greater Thunder] when he was actually in the water to break it. I don't know if it'll come back though".
"What's the boss's name?" Momonga asked.
"Qanir, God of Extermination and he's level one hundred fifty".
"I'm starting to get excited!" Takemi looked as thrilled as a digital avatar could.
"This isn't over…" Qanir swayed before raising his sword in the air and slamming it into the ground with a yell. A burst of shadows exploded from the ground and washed over the party before forming a dome around the area. Outside from where they were standing was filled with the similar fog that they had seen in Álfheim. Except this one was much more darker and felt more ominous as it swirled around like a tornado.
"Uh… Hey guys?" Nishiki got their attention "There's a crap ton of stuff that just spawned in that shadow-nado thing"
"Can you tell what it is?" Touch-Me immediately went on guard.
"It's blocking my sensors so I can't. Think I should take a look?"
"It would be really risky if you did. This looks a little different from the one in Álfheim so it could be stronger and the stuff he spawned could be too much" Touch-Me responded.
Merlin looked to Momonga "Summon some undead and have them act as a barrier so we can worry about the boss for now".
"Right" Momonga nodded "[Create Middle Tier Undead] [Create Low Tier Undead] [Undeath Army]" dozens upon dozens of skeletons, a couple death knights and a few liches were spawned along the edges of the dome. They were split in groups consisting of one lich and one death knight along with a plethora of skeletons. All of them were given the simple order of 'defend the area' while the players dealt with the boss.
Not too long after they were summoned, a howl was heard within the storm of darkness. Another howl followed and it sprung forth more howls as over twenty shadow like hell hounds crept into the dome.
"Hell Hounds?" Merlin questioned "No… they seem stronger"
"We'll let Momonga's summons deal with them" Takemi started to grow impatient "I'm gonna fight the boss!" he then rushed towards the boss.
The final battle was about to begin.
