They leaped over the foliage and ducking under the vines, and slid under tree roots. And for once, Lia was glad that her Uncle had made her, Tommy, and Jake go through intense training exercises, which included her Uncle making them his very own version of a military obstacle course.
Although she knew better, she couldn't help but glance over her shoulder to see the Thanator forcing its way through the tree-bark in high pursuit of the two Avatars.
Jake suddenly let go of Lia and pushed her ahead of himself while the Thanator was slicing and pushing down anything and everything in its path to get to them. Jake was breathing heavily behind Lia, who found a narrow enough space for the two of them. She turned slightly to grab Jake's hand, pulling him in through the roots.
The Thanator jumped just as Jake finally got in the tree roots with Lia, who could feel her heart in stomach and stomach in her heart. Like Jake, she was breathing heavily and nearly screamed when the Thanator launched itself at the tree, its claws tore at the roots trying to reach them.
"Go, GO, GO!"Jake yelled at his younger Sister, who did as she was told and started crawling around the base of the tree while Jake fired at it.
This caused the Thanator to jump back before launching at Jake, grabbing the gun in between its jaws and tossed the gun aside, after ripping it free from Jake's grip. Lia ran out of the base of the tree, with Jake trailing behind her, and as she ran, she pushed the foliage past her. The Thanator suddenly jumped from the fallen log and clawed at Jake's bag, causing him to fall.
At hearing something fall behind her, Lia whirled around, staring with wide eyes."JAKE!"
"Amalia, run!"Jake snapped as the Thanator wrapped its jaws around Jake's backpack, lifting him up to wave him around in the air like a dog with a chew toy.
"Jake, get rid of your backpack!"Lia said, ignoring Jake's demand to leave.
Jake, doing as Lia said, unbuckled his backpack and hit the ground running. He grabbed the blue girl's hand and pulled her along with him. The Thanator hissed, realizing that Jake got away and pursued chasing the pair. Jake, seeing a ledge, ran towards it, knowing that they'd have a better chance of surviving by jumping.
And so, he did, pulling Lia against her will, causing her to scream;"JACOB!"in terror just before they hit the water.
A few seconds later, Jake pulled her up to the surface with him and they took a deep breath of fresh air, before they headed towards the land before the current could take them deeper into the river.
Jake grabbed a branch that was hanging in the water and started climbing it, along with Lia, however, the duo froze when they heard the Thanator roar loudly over the roaring of the water. They looked back sharply, only to slightly relax when they saw that the Thanator was merely pacing back and forth, obviously trying to find a way to get down there, while eyeing them.
"C'mon."Jake said, climbing further up on the branch, and Lia followed.
"The next time I tell you to run, you run!"Jake scolded her as he made himself a spear to defend them with.
"And leave you behind? Jake, you're the only Family I have left! I don't want to be alone, especially on another planet!"Lia hissed softly, keeping her voice low in case new Predators were hunting near them, and tried to hide her own tears."And can you keep your voice down? You'll attract predators!"Lia warned him, her eyes flickering around warily and her ears twitched, listening to everything around her.
"We gotta keep moving. It's gonna get dark real soon."Jake stated, glancing up at the sky briefly, noticing that the sun was starting to set."We also need light."
"Jake, the plants are bioluminescent."Jake stared at her blankly."The plants glow in the dark."Lia said, putting it into simple words that her Older Brother would understand.
"Are you sure you don't want to be a Scientist?"Jake couldn't help but ask.
Lia glared at him."I like reading books that have interesting facts, useful facts, Jake."
Jake sighed."Let's go."Was all he said to her retort, causing her to smirk, but followed him anyway.
Unknown to the Siblings, a female Na'vi was watching them from above them, in the trees, only to pull out her bow and arrow, and aimed at the male's back, deciding that she would kill the male first since the female looked weaker then him and was relying on him to protect her.
However, before she could kill the Dreamwalkers, a, as the Sky People called them; Woodsprite, or as her people called them; Atokirina, landed on her arrow, causing her to lower her bow and watch it float away before running off quietly, as if she was never there.
Later that night, Jake turned his spear into a torch, by taking off his outer shirt and wrapping it around the spear before finding some sort of sticky tree sap substance to coat his torch in, all the while staying on high alert.
"You're not the only one who reads books with useful facts."Jake said, glancing at Lia, who scowled at him.
"We don't need a torch, the plants glow."Lia reminded him, gesturing at said glowing plants.
Ignoring her, Jake lit the torch and waved it around in the area where some of the plants didn't glow, revealing a pack of Viperwolves. Although she had already heard the hyena-like-laughter and growls, it was still a shock to see a pack of them so close, which caused Lia to move closer to Jake, who placed an arm out in front of her protectively.
Jake started moving back, forcing Lia to move back with him, all the while swiping his torch out in front of the Viperwolves, keeping them at a distance.
The pair of Avatars quickly ran out into the clearing, where the trees were further apart, but above the canopy, still gave a partial view of the gas giant that spun in the sky, and a few of the the Viperwolves lunged at Lia, but Jake swiped his torch at them, keeping them away from Lia.
"Stay the fuck away from her!"He snarled."We don't have all goddamn night."He added when he saw the Viperwolves circling them."Come on! Come on!"
One of the Viperwolves suddenly went to attack Jake, only for him to whack it, sending it crashing to the ground with a pitiful whine, which surprisingly tugged at Lia's heartstrings. To her, it sounded like a dog being kicked.
Jake whirled the torch and stabbed the other Viperwolf that lunged at him, and Jake couldn't help but drop his torch. But he quickly whipped out his knife, and Viperwolf lunged at him once again.
Lia, thinking quickly, ran to the torch and pulled it out of the Viperwolf's chest, and looked down at it sadly, knowing that it was only trying to survive in a kill or be killed World. Lia held the torch up, waving it around as Jake slashed another Viperwolf, which fell with another pitiful yelp.
"Lia-"Jake was cut off by a Viperwolf tackling him to the ground by the leg, but he quickly kicked it off.
When another one went to jump on Jake, Lia, regretfully, swatted it away."There's too many!"She hissed out before bearing her fangs at one, growling lowly.
Lia wasn't sure why she did it, but it just felt right for some reason. Suddenly, an arrow whizzed past Lia, who turned to look at where the arrow, which had embedded itself into the Viperwolf that Jake had been wrestling, came from, only to stare with wide eyes as a Na'vi woman ran past her.
She jumped into the air with a yell, shooting another arrow before she landed and whacked any Viperwolf that came at her. One managed to tackle her, but in the end, she won and quickly killed it, before going back to whacking the others away. As she swung her bow and hissed at the Viperwolves, solely establishing her dominance, her tail swished in indignation.
Once she was sure all of the Viperwolves were gone, she turned to the two Avatars, who stood in a protective stance (Jake), or was just standing there, watching her warily (Lia), only to raise her hand in front of her face, protecting her from the brightness of the torch, grabbing it out of Lia's, who let her, hand with a hiss of annoyance.
"Sorry."Lia apologised in Na'vi, gaining a look of surprise from the Na'vi woman, before muttering in Na'vi herself, sounding annoyed with the torch, and threw it into the muddy water, effectively putting it out and covering them in darkness, all the while ignoring Jake's protests.
Jake scoffed and glared at Lia."Why'd you let her do that?"
"Because she doesn't need to see with a light in the dark, and neither do we."Lia stated, rolling her eyes at Jake as her eyes adjusted to the darkness, which wouldn't last long due to the glowing plants, around her.
Jake grumbled as he went and retrieved his makeshift torch while the Na'vi woman suddenly raced over to a, still alive, Viperwolf, and bent down, resting one of her knees on it's neck, and started praying in Na'vi.
She would have killed the Viperwolf swiftly as soon as she finished her prayer, but Lia, who had followed her, grabbed her wrist, causing the Na'vi to hiss at her.
"No need for him to die."Lia said, staring at the Na'vi woman intensely."I can help. I am a Doctor-Healer."Lia corrected herself, knowing that it would be better if she called herself a Healer since she wasn't sure how the Na'vi woman react to her calling herself a Doctor."Please."She practically begged, seeing the wary look in the Na'vi woman's gaze and the woman pulled away, allowing Lia to tend to the Viperwolf, watching with narrowed eyes."Shh..."Lia hushed the Viperwolf as she pulled out her medical kit, and pulled out a needle and thread, which she used to stitch up the wound, rather quickly, and bandaged it."There we go. All better."Lia said, gently patting it before she helped it get to its feet."He should be fine in a few days."She said, turning her attention to the Na'vi woman.

~~~Meeting The Na'vi of the Omaticaya Clan Pt. 2~~~
"You're like a baby."The Na'vi hissed at him before letting go of his arm with a sigh."These Sky People."She grumbled, annoyed, and Jake stared at her before glancing back at Lia, a small grimace on his face as he saw the worried look in her eyes as she looked down at the ground below them.
He looked back at the Na'vi woman."I need your help."He said softly and desperately, for Lia's sake, rather than his, and the Na'vi woman frowned.
"You both should not be here."
"Ok, take us with you."
"No!"Came the quick response."Go back."She added softly before turning around and started to walk away again, but Jake, and Lia, who kept back at a distance, followed.
