The four, soon to be, students sat in complete sceilnce, Theo in the front right of the boat still looking onward across the lake, Hermione opposite him with her hand still encasing Cassy's smaller one, their fingers laced together and placed in Hermione's lap amongst her colourless robes. Cassy was to her left, now more comfortable with the girl who had stolen her hand and relaxed into the uncomfortable bench, her eyes skimming over the shimmering lake, harry was opposite her, their feet almost touching in the small boat and unlike the other occupants of the boat his eyes remained firmly on Cassy.

He studied the curve of her cheek into her chin and admired the smooth skin of her face. She was pale ,almost ill, but her enamoured smile gave away no sheen of sickness. As he stared at her, he took notice of the way her school robes where slightly higher on her neck than the rest of the new students, he narrowed his eyes and tilted him self forward slowly to get a better look when he was interrupted by the loud yelling of Hagrid.

"Mind the bridge."

The shout broke harry from his intrigue and he ducked just in time to avoid a nasty bump. He straightened quickly and brushed out the wrinkles in his robes attempting to ignore the snigger the prideful boy next to him sent and the questioning look of the beautiful girl in front of him, who turned her attention from the lake. His embarrassment was short lived when the castle appeared in front of them, consuming their vision and capturing their attention, any conversations deemed insignificant.

The castle was magnificent. Tall and proud. The vast lake surrounding it enhanced the already glowing walls and the tall turrets glimmered, holding indescribable magic and discovery. The students were silent, the air around them stolen and replaced with something magical.

When the boats finally hit the bank, the stupor had rubbed off most of the students, wit only a few with their eyes still locked onto the tall points of the castle. The students filled from the boats, Theo and Hermione stepping out first with Cassy's hand slipping from her grasp, much to Hermione's annoyance Harry quickly grasped her other hand and guided Cassy from the boat stepping out after her.

A blush shined over her pale feature at both Hermione's and Harrys intense stare.

Everyone was hurried up the stairs by an invisible force and stopped still in a large crowd at a tall set of doors. Harry and Hermione stood to either side of Cassy, encasing her.

She looked between the two standing either side of her, a blush coating her cheeks and the tips of her ears, shed always struggled making friends before at all the other places she'd been to but Harry and Hermione had practically shoved their way to her sides and stuck there like metal to magnets. Not that she was complaining at all, having no friends was a tedious task, especially when avoiding bullies. She had always been a quiet girl.

Hermione looked to her left quickly where both Cassy and harry stood and suddenly felt a bout of protectiveness, she had never once had friends of her own before, no one at school and certainly none at home with her parents always busy and no one else around, she decided then and there that these people is who she would keep, she looked to Harry, aid and get close to, her eyes fell back to Cassy, protect and love.

Harry never had anyone to look after before or anything really, anything he cared for was broken and destroyed by his rampant cousin and stolen by his nosy uncle, gazing over the two girls at his sides he decided he'd keep them safe from those who tried to take from him before, where these feeling had come from he didn't know but the sudden over taking of possessiveness wasn't lost to him. He looked away from both of them, hiding the darkness in his killing curse eyes.

"So, it's true," the arrogant blonde from before marched up in front of him, the crowd parting around him to make room, "Harry Potter really has come to Hogwarts." He stopped in front of harry, sneering at the two beside him before returning his attention to his target.

If harry wasn't put off by the gross display of rudeness towards his newfound friend at the train station, he currently was now. Stepping forward in front of Cassy he raised an eyebrow at the boy in question.

"Draco Malfoy," he offered up his hand," you really shouldn't be hanging around with people like that." He spat out the last word like it was a bad taste on his tongue.

Ignoring the offered hand harry retorted in fashion," I think I'll be just fine, thank you Malfoy." The name left a sour taste in his mouth, and he turned quickly to look back at his friends. He gazed over them, ignoring the indignant spluttering of the boy behind him. He flicked his eyes up slightly at the boy they shared the boat with and watched as a small smirk graced his features as they locked eyes. They shared a nod before Harry turned back to Hermione and smiled down at her.

"As if I'm about to leave my new best friends for a rude, greasy git."

A giggle erupted from Cassy and Hermione's mouth cracked open in surprise. A mischievous grin and wink sent towards both girls.
