In front of Goku's house - With Sasuke and Krillin

Currently in front of Goku's house, was Sasuke and Krillin. The latter wore a grey formal wear with a white shirt underneath, dark blue tie, and gray trousers, along with brown shoes. He also had a gray hat in his hands held close to his chest. "Goku… has been killed…" he rehearsed, hoping to break the news to Chi-Chi properly.

Sasuke sighed with his hands in his pocket. "Why the formal wear?"

Krillin, his nervousness palpable, couldn't help but chuckle, though it was tinged with sadness. "I thought it would be better to wear the appropriate clothing, especially when informing someone about their husband's death," he replied, his voice trembling with the enormity of the task before him.

Sasuke stared at the door ahead of him and said, "In my village, shinobi die almost every single day due to going out on missions. And I've witnessed death myself, multiple times."

"M-Multiple… t-times…? You must have had it really rough…" Krillin was frightened.

Sasuke gritted his teeth in anger, as he remembered how Itachi used his sharingan to show Sasuke the lives of the Uchiha that were slain. However, his train of thoughts got derailed when the door in front of him opened, revealing Chi-Chi.

She beamed at Sasuke and Krillin and said, "Ah! Krillin! Sasuke!"

"H-H-Hello…" Krillin slightly freaked out.

"What are you two doing babbling to yourselves out here?"

"Ah.. well, allow me to inform you… that…"

Sasuke displayed a serious look on his face and interrupted, "Sorry to tell you this out of the blue, but your husband Goku has passed away. And your son was taken away by Piccolo."

Krillin freaked out. "S-Sasuke…! Just like that?!"

Chi-Chi was stunned for a moment, as a tall, large man appeared behind her. It was apparently his father, and he had a shocked look on his face. "Say WHAT?!"

Chi-Chi's father, the Ox-King, is quite large and has a lot of facial hair. He wore a normal attire, along with glasses. He currently had a shocked look on his face as he had just heard what Sasuke had said.

After taking all the information, Chi-Chi couldn't help but faint, falling onto the ground. However, before she could hit the ground, her father caught her in time and cried out, "Chi-Chi!"

PLAINS - WITH PICCOLO, NARUTO, AND GOHAN

Piccolo descended from the sky before landing in a lake. The water was shallow, barely reaching his ankles. The ripples spread outward. With a firm grip on their collars, Piccolo raised Gohan and Naruto to eye level with a steely gaze. His voice, like the distant rumble of thunder, carried an air of impatience as he beseeched, "Would you already wake up now, son of Goku, and Naruto?"

He then turned them around by the collar till he could see their faces. Both of them were still asleep. However, Naruto seemed to be talking in his sleep, as he mumbled, "Sakura-chan…"

Piccolo scoffed with irritation and decided to throw both kids into the lake below them. With a splash, Naruto and Gohan submerged into the water. A few seconds passed by, and Gohan suddenly woke up. He shifted to a standing position and started coughing a bit since he couldn't breath earlier. Around two seconds after, Naruto woke up with a start and started coughing as well. He was also now in a standing position and he gasped his breath.

"Ahhh! S-Sakura-chan?" Naruto glanced around his surroundings in confusion.

Piccolo's irritation surged like a tempest within him. "Who is this Sakura you speak of?" he retorted curtly. "I'm here to train you, not this 'Sakura' nonsense."

Turning his gaze to Gohan, he instructed, "We have matters to discuss," he declared sternly. "Now, both of you, out of the water."

Gohan was frightened. "W-Who are you...? Where's father?"

Naruto noticed Piccolo's presence and widened his eyes in shock. "Piccolo?" That's when he remembered about his battle with Raditz.

FLASHBACK BEGINS

Wasting no time, Naruto quickly charged towards Raditz and within no time, was already in front of him. He thrust his arm forward with the Rasengan and yelled, "HAAAAA!"

However, Raditz had other plans. Before the Rasengan could make contact with his chest, the Saiyan Warrior grabbed the Jinchūriki's wrist and proclaimed, "Play time's over! I'm through with you!" and punched Naruto in the gut, making him cough out blood.

The impact of the punch was enough to render the blond ninja unconscious as Naruto was sent about half a mile flying before crashing towards the ground right next to Gohan. The Kyuubi cloak around Naruto diminished and now it looked like the blond ninja was unconscious

FLASHBACK ENDS

"Wait… what happened to Raditz?" Naruto was alarmed. He then looked to his left at Gohan and gasped. "Gohan? You're okay!" He then returned his attention back at Piccolo and asked, "What the hell is going on?!"

Piccolo folded his arms and scoffed. "No need to get worked up, brat. Goku's brother has been defeated. But we now have more important matters to deal with."

Gohan got frightened, and began to move around the lake in a continuous 'S' shape whilst crying for his father. "Father! Where are you? I'm scared!" he then stopped in the middle of the lake and cried. "Father! I'm scared." he then sniffed and glanced at Naruto. "Naruto, do you know where is my father?"

Naruto, as he was watching Gohan, widened his eyes in shock, and returned his attention back at Piccolo and asked, "Wait, where is Goku?"

Piccolo answered without hesitation, "Goku's dead. He sacrificed himself to defeat Raditz. However, like I mentioned before—" he stopped talking midway as Gohan continued to cry, which irritated the green man in the process. "You lousy brat…" he muttered under his breath. He then walked past Naruto before arriving near Gohan, and picked him up by the collar. "Don't give me any trouble!"

However, Gohan continued to cry, causing Piccolo to gently place him down before retreating his hand and shouting with a clenched fist, "Stop blubbering! Be quiet, or I'll snap your neck!"

Gohan quickly stopped crying, and sniffed for a bit, before wiping the tears off his eyes.

"W-What?!" Naruto was furious. "Leave Gohan alone!" he charged towards Piccolo, using his chakra to run easily on the lake. However, as soon as he got close to Piccolo, the man disappeared, shocking Naruto.

"What the…?" Naruto was shocked, and quickly turned, only to see Piccolo towering in front of him with an irritated look on his face.

"Naruto… You too! Try anything funny, and I'll snap both of your necks!" Piccolo warned, startling Naruto. "I'm sure you already know that I'm leagues above you in terms of power. So don't think of trying anything stupid, got it?! We have important matters to discuss!"

Naruto was surprised. "What is it?"

"Alright, listen closely to what I'm about to say. Like I mentioned before, Goku is dead. You remember some of it, right? He sacrificed himself in order to defeat that man." Piccolo revealed.

FLASHBACK BEGINS

"Piccolo! Hurry and do it!"

Piccolo kept his fingertips in front of his face and grinned evily. "Sorry to keep you waiting… Are you ready for this?!"

"Do it!" Goku shouted.

"W-Wait!" Raditz cried.

Piccolo raised his arm into the air before thrusting it forward and shouted, "Special Beam Cannon!" as he fired the beam towards Raditz.

The spiraling beam flew towards Raditz and Goku. The desperate Saiyan gave one last ditch elbow to his brother's ribs, and, unfortunately, Goku's grip slipped just enough for Raditz to jump. The beam hit Goku head-on and went through him, flying out till it landed far off in the field, creating a large explosion.

However, in the process, Raditz wasn't able to dodge the beam entirely as it scraped his stomach, inflicting a gash on it. "Crap!"

Due to the gash on his shoulder, stomach, and the severe injury on his chest, Raditz couldn't stand anymore and he fell face first on the ground while shouting, "D-Damn it!" and his scouter fell from his face and onto the ground.

FLASHBACK ENDS

"Father is…" Gohan was at the verge of crying again.

Piccolo took a step forward and held his hand out, almost as if he was about to grab Gohan. "Woah, there! Don't cry! I will really snap your neck!"

Gohan held himself back from crying once again, as Piccolo returned back to his original position after taking a step back and explained with a smirk, "You both have heard about the dragon balls from Goku, right? Goku's friends are currently working on collecting all seven of them to bring him back to life. However, that's not what the matter is! We managed to get rid of the guy that kidnapped you, Goku's son… but he said that in another year, there are some friends of his who are even stronger than he was who will be coming here. When they do, even with Goku coming back to life, there isn't a chance of us winning with just him and I. We need your strength too, Naruto, Gohan. I'm going to train you and teach you fighting tactics, and defend Earth!"

Gohan was baffled. "Huh? Me? Nuh-uh. I can't fight at all."

Naruto was perplexed. "Gohan?! He's just a kid! How can he fight?"

Piccolo displayed a serious look on his face. "Apparently, Goku's son hasn't realized it himself, but the power within him is something else."

"Power? Within?" Naruto was shocked as he glanced at Gohan. "But he's just a kid!" he thought to himself. "What is Piccolo talking about?"

Piccolo then fixed his attention at Naruto and asked, "Naruto… You also have a hidden power within you… I witnessed it with my own eyes when you took on against Raditz. That demonic power of yours surpassed even mine… Are you able to tap into that power at will."

Naruto, who was already looking back at Piccolo, stayed silent for a moment as he was in deep thought, before answering, "No… Not all of it…"

"I thought so… Apparently, when your emotions are heightened, that's when you're able to draw out your hidden power. Both of you have a surplus amount of Ki within you… Naruto, you especially… You have large reserves of Ki… We simply need to put that enormous Ki of yours to good use."

"W-What?" Naruto was surprised.

Gohan sniffed. "Naruto is a ninja. But I'm just a kid!"

Piccolo grinned evilly and scoffed. "Want to see some proof?" he then grabbed Naruto and Gohan's hairs, before lifting them up towards his eye level.

"Wah! That hurts! Stop it! Stop it!" Gohan wailed in pain.

"H-Hey! What do you think you're doing?!" Naruto wiggled vigorously while hitting Piccolo's arms in an attempt to break free, but to no avail, as the green man was too resilient.

Piccolo's eyes narrowed as he glanced to his left, a sly grin tugging at the corners of his mouth. In the distance, a solitary mesa stood, a rugged and formidable landmark against the horizon. With a deliberate motion, he shifted his attention toward the mesa. Without hesitation, he launched both Naruto and Gohan towards the imposing terrain. Though Piccolo held back, the force behind his throw propelled the two kids towards the mesa at an unsettling speed. Panic seized Gohan's heart, and a scream involuntarily escaped his lips as he hurtled towards the unforgiving surface. Naruto, his mind racing in the face of impending danger, thought to himself, "If I don't act swiftly, Gohan won't survive this!"

Piccolo thought to himself as he watched Naruto and Gohan being sent towards the Mesa, "Now, both of you, show me your hidden power!"

Naruto clasped his fingers into a hand seal while still being sent hurtling towards the Mesa and closed his eyes for a moment. "Come on, stupid fox! Give me your Chakra!"

In the next instant, Naruto's crimson eyes burst open, revealing eerie black slits in the midst of his red irises. This indicated that he had the Kyuubi's influence surging through his being. A red chakra cloak began to materialize around his form, like a shroud. Meanwhile, Gohan's initial fear and desperation had metamorphosed into a seething rage. His countenance twisted into a mask of anger, and with a determined resolve, he thrust his clenched fists forward, adopting a superman-like posture. Unintentionally, he channeled his latent Ki energy into a swirling, pulsating aura that enveloped him. With a sudden release of power, the aura transformed into a ferocious Ki blast, streaking forth towards the menacing mesa.

Naruto, now draped in the shroud of the Nine Tails' red chakra cloak, extended his chakra-cloaked tail towards the mesa. As their combined attacks converged upon their target, a deafening explosion ripped through the landscape, unleashing its destructive fury.

KABOOM!

Piccolo, shielding his eyes from the blinding brilliance of the detonation, felt the concussive shockwaves ripple through the air. He groaned, bracing himself against the explosion's shockwaves. When the tumultuous shockwaves finally ebbed away, Piccolo cautiously lowered his arms, his eyes wide with disbelief at the surreal sight before him. "W-What the…?!"

Where once stood the imposing mesa, now sprawled a colossal crater that stretched over a thousand feet across the terrain. Naruto and Gohan, their bodies sprawled unceremoniously on the grass, had reverted to their normal states. Multiple streaks of smoke billowed from the gaping crater, trailing into the sky.

Piccolo's astonishment was palpable as he gazed upon the aftermath. "A-Astonishing! It's even greater than I imagined!"

Naruto and Gohan sat up on their butts and watched the massive destruction ahead of them in both shock and surprise at the same time. Naruto then glanced at Gohan in shock and said, "Gohan… you did that? But how?"

Gohan looked at Naruto with a surprised look on his face. "You too, Naruto…"

"That's strange… Was I actually this powerful? I remember when I fought against Sasuke using the Nine Tails' chakra, I wasn't as powerful as I am now. I didn't know the fox was so powerful, and how come it's showing this much power only now and not when I was fighting with Sasuke last time?" Naruto thought to himself.

Piccolo strode over to Naruto and Gohan with a serious look on his face while thinking to himself, "I'm having mixed feelings… I'm about to raise two warriors who could be my greatest enemies in the future…"

Gohan stared back at the destruction ahead of him with a surprised look on his face. "Did I… also do this…?"

Piccolo arrived near Naruto and Gohan and said, "That's right. It looks like you're starting to understand." he then folded his arms and explained, "Whenever both of your emotions become substantially excited, you exhibit your intrinsic inner power. But it only happens for an instant. We can't win that way."

Naruto widened his eyes in shock. "Gohan has that kind of power, even as a kid? It's amazing! And without a tailed beast inside him! Could this be the influence of his Saiyan genes?"

Gohan cast a quick glance over his shoulder, his eyes meeting Piccolo's imposing figure. As the Namekian loomed over him, Gohan settled onto the lush, green grass, using his hands to prop himself up, balancing on his rear. Piccolo's voice resonated with a sense of urgency as he declared, "I'm here to teach you the true path of combat, to mold both of you into the ultimate warriors. Naruto, already a skilled ninja, must ascend to even greater heights if we hope to stand against the Saiyans. Do you understand the gravity of our situation?"

"But I don't want to become a martial artist. I want to be a great scholar." Gohan stated innocently.

Piccolo smirked. "Go ahead, then. But do it after we defeat the two Saiyans that will be coming here in a year's time. They're planning to exterminate everyone on Earth. If they do that, then there is no future, or anything else, right?"

"But I'm scared…"

Piccolo gritted his teeth in anger, before yelling, "Stop your whining! Do you want to get killed, right now? At least Naruto understands the gravity of the situation. We don't have time, we're starting right now! Take off your top!"

Naruto frowned. "Hey! Don't be rude with Gohan. He's just a kid."

Piccolo scoffed. "A kid with intense power. You too, Naruto… Your demonic power isn't something to sneeze at. I don't know how you got that kind of power, but we are going to make sure you can use it at will if we ever need a chance to defeat the Saiyans!"

"I would rather be trained by Goku…" Naruto said with a serious look on his face, as he stood up to his feet.

Gohan got up, frightened, before whimpering, "If my father's coming back to life, I want to be taught by him."

Piccolo scoffed with a smirk. "Too bad. Sure, he may be strong, but he's not cut out at all to be a teacher. He has absolutely no sternness when it comes to others." he then looked at Gohan with a devilish grin. "You can tell that just by looking at how spoiled you are."

With Goku - Snakeway

As Goku continued to fly through Snakeway, although at a slower speed than last time, he sneezed. Was someone just now talking about him? There was a saying that if you sneezed, then that means someone was talking about you. But that must be false, right? "Huh?" the Saiyan noticed that he was getting slower and slower. It wasn't long before he came to a full stop, before landing nimbly on the road below him. Bending forward with his knees bent and hands rested on it, he panted a bit before displaying a tired look on his face. He then stood up straight and said to himself, "Whoops… I used too much of my Ki, and now I can't fly…" and with that, he began to use the old fashioned way: run till the end of Snakeway. Unaware of the cries of his son, Goku continues his long journey in search of King Kai's home.
