Author's Note: Well, we finally made it, we made it through one third of the Making Your Vows fanfic. Now with our Spidey-Couple finally together, it's time to put their newfound relationship to the test for the future chapters that's yet to come.
Though sadly, as I stated from the previous chapter, this finally means I will be taking some time off from this fanfic, until I can finally find a way to improve my writing for the future chapters.
As for Gwen's departure from the fanfic, while it originally had nothing to do with the reviewer's critique, I can see this as a chance to find some ways to improve her when she'll return for the third film (The reason why I couldn't have her in Spider-Man 2 is because, with a good supporting character such as her involved, it will make it difficult for the story in the second film to work in my opinion).
With that said, any constructive criticisms and comments would be greatly appreciated. I hope you enjoyed reading the first movie.
Reviews:
Rivet94: Thanks, man.
Nothingspecial43: Appreciated your critiques.
One thing I'm worried about was that, you're right, I have too much respect for the Original Trilogy to be willing to add my own flavors to the mix.
I guess I really took my story synopsis of "... This story follows the flow from the same story we all used to know..." probably too seriously.
And looking over my current draft with Spider-Man 2, there are some parts that's just word-for-word from the second film(with some minor changes to fit the universe as I intended), which I agree is not a good thing, but I feel like the reason that's the case for those parts was because they were scenarios where Spinneret was too busy with her own story and too far away from the action to join her partner in time, and I can't just forcefully bring her in, otherwise it would be too convenient. But hopefully my intended original ideas will outweighs those.
As for the draft I have for Spider-Man 3, however, probably a little bit drastically different because there's some changes in that third film I wanted to apply, and it will be focused mainly from Mary Jane's perspective, contrasting to Peter's for my Spider-Man and Spider-Man 2 Making Your Vows stories.
So, to sum it all up, my plans for Spider-Man 2 will have some additions to the original film, and it's mostly Spider-Man 3 and my intended Endgame of the Original Trilogy is where the divergence I kept hyping on about is truly where it hits the mark. I hope I did offer some reassurance for some future chapters after the hiatus.
memullet00: Thanks for your kind comment.
Bountyhunter1977: As I said to Nothingspecial43's comment, I have too much respect for the Original Trilogy to make too much of a drastic change like that. I see Spider-Man 2 as a perfect physiological story to explore Peter's inner struggles to dealing living his life as a regular guy and his life as a superhero, and I don't wish to change any of that, otherwise I feel like I would missed the point of why the film was very good to begin with. That said, I can at least make sure MJ would help making it a bit easier for him to cope with his inner struggles. She's the Love of his Life, after all.
So, I may have to let some of the flaws mentioned from Nothingspecial43's critiques sink through for a little longer before getting my original ideas in.
And I said this already in previous review shoutouts, I don't like to deal with writing other characters from different franchises that has little significance in this fanfic. It would make it more convoluted than I'm comfortable with. So, sorry, no Daredevil, Elektra or any other notable Marvel characters in this universe.
DCDGojira: Thanks, dude.
Commander 117: Appreciated your comment.
Kinda funny you mentioned that, because I always wished the original 616 Gwen Stacy was resurrected as Spider-Gwen instead of being another character from another universe, so that she wouldn't have to deal with the horrible status quo of being treated badly(Cloned, Abused, Alleged Rape - which was retconned, Thank God for Nick Spencer). Giving her the Spider-Persona earlier on in the Spider-Man lore, maybe it would've spare her of it, but that's just my assumption.
Spider-Reader: Like I said before, this universe/story was shaped by Peter, Mary Jane and Harry's relationship, and the Goblin's death plays a part of that. I think it's crucial that remains in play.
