"So you're telling us that there are two rare Pokemon out here?" Ash asked, as the group was spending the afternoon just West of Ecruteak City.
"Hey we did the towers and the kimono girls, don't I get a say in what we do here at least once!" Casey argued.
"We're not saying you don't, we're just trying to show interest in what it is you're doing." Molly said, trying to diffuse the situation.
"And, usually they're a bit more spread out than this." Ash pointed out. "I figured we'd have a bit between now and the next one, not just two on the same route."
"Well they are both here, so deal with it!" Casey countered.
"I'm gonna shut up before I make things worse somehow." Ash said.
"I wonder why she's worked up so much today, normally she isn't this bad with both of us." Molly said.
"I don't know, and I'm not really sure how to help with this." Ash admitted, as Casey began looking around.
"Come on, where are they…". Casey said, before spotting a hole. "Beedrill come on out and use Twin Needle!"
Beedrill came out of their Pokeball, piercing their needles into the ground, causing a Snubbull to come flying back out.
"Now use Fury Attack!"
Beedrill launched their needles forward in a one-two motion, keeping Snubbull on the defensive side as it had to keep dodging.
"Keep it up!" Casey said, waving her flag in sync with Beedrill's attack as it finally stuck the Snubbull, sending it tumbling back. "Now Pokeball, go!" Casey called out, sending the Pokeball flying, striking the Snubbull dead center as it was engulfed in a red light.
"So was that one of the Pokemon you were looking for?" Ash asked cautiously.
"Yeah, why!?" Casey snapped.
"Okay, look if you don't like me, fine. But I am actually trying to be supportive, we aren't mad you want to do this, we just want to know what you're looking for, Molly and I can actually help you, you know that right?" Ash said.
"Maybe I don't need your constant offer of help or all the questions, if I want to take a detour shouldn't that be allowed?!" Casey said.
"You know what, forget it, find the other on your own, I have a gym battle to prepare for!" Ash snapped finally, walking back to town.
"AGHH!" Casey yelled angrily.
"Wanna talk about why you are so angry today?" Molly asked supportively.
"Why, so you can tell Ash how to make things better?!" Casey said still angry.
"Casey, calm down and just talk to me. I swear I won't tell Ash this." Molly promised.
"Fine, I'm angry because, I don't know okay!" Casey groaned. "Just any time he tries to help when you're around I get so confused and I just shout and then he shouts and then we fight!"
"What do you mean when I'm around?" Molly asked.
"When we were heading to the Ruins of Alph from Goldenrod, Ash helped me catch Yanma and it was great, I didn't have a problem, but I just, gah I don't know!" Casey groaned. "And I really could have used his knowledge with this one."
"What's the other Pokemon you want to try and catch out here?" Molly asked.
"A Tauros, and the only person we've met that's dumb enough to catch a Tauros, I just made leave." Casey said.
"Technically I think he was dumb enough to catch 30 Tauros, not just one." Molly pointed out. "But why didn't you tell him that?"
"Because I don't know, I've never been like this with other people before." Casey said.
"You're like this with Ash every day, what makes today different." Molly said. "You were on the phone talking to your folks for a while earlier, and you've been fired up ever since."
"It's nothing, okay." Casey said, standing back up.
"Casey, clearly it isn't nothing. I promise this will stay between the two of us unless you tell Ash yourself." Molly assured.
"My cousin wants me to come home for a bit." Casey sighed.
"Is something wrong at home?" Molly asked.
"No, she's getting married." Casey groaned. "And Mudville is on the way to Olivine City so we'd be passing by it anyways, and I just, it's going to be dumb, and I'm not looking forward to it."
"I see, and you're worried that Ash will poke fun at the fact that you're asked to attend the wedding?" Molly asked. "Or is it you want him to come with you?" Molly teased.
"Just, shut up!" Casey said, clearly blushing. "How am I going to catch a Tauros though, my plan was originally to ask for his help."
"Then go and ask him, and apologize for being so angry." Molly said.
"You said I didn't have to tell him!" Casey said.
"I said I wouldn't but maybe letting him know would get some of the stress off of your chest." Molly pointed out.
"Fine, I guess it couldn't hurt to tell him about the stop." Casey sighed. "I'll go apologize."
In an open lot in Ecruteak
"Scyther use Pursuit!"
"Girafarig use Stomp!"
Ash had found an opponent to train against and was wrapping up the battle as Casey approached.
"Ash, can we talk!" Casey said, before realizing she was still acting in anger.
"I left, I walked away, how much more do you want from me!" Ash said.
"Sorry, sorry, can I start over?" Casey asked before taking a breath. "I'm sorry about my anger, my family wants me to come home for this wedding, and it's on the way to Olivine, and I just am stressed about that."
"Is that all?" Ash asked.
"Is that, what no remarks or anything?" Casey said in shock.
"It's your family, even if there wasn't a wedding if you wanted to stop by home for a day or two, why not." Ash said. "You were all worked up over that?"
"Kind of, yeah." Casey admitted.
"Yeah, no problem, when do you need to be there?" Ash asked calmly.
"In about a week, but could I get your help with something in the meantime?" Casey asked.
"I'm not wearing a dress." Ash said quickly.
"What?" Casey said with a laugh.
"Nothing, what do you need?" Ash said recovering quickly.
"What do you know about catching Tauros?" Casey asked.
Back outside of Ecruteak
"Alright, the key to catching a Tauros is you need to stop it in it's tracks. Watch." Ash said with Sudowoodo. "Sudowoodo use Mimic!"
Sudowoodo rushed forward, slamming into a charging Tauros before tossing it aside, letting the bull get back up and start charging again.
"Alright, Bayleef use Body Slam!" Casey called out.
Bayleef rushed forward, pushing back against the Tauros, as the bull pokemon dug it's hooves into the dirt.
"Now toss it with Vine Whip!"
"Bay!" Bayleef exclaimed, tossing Tauros into the air with relative ease.
"Bad idea, soon as it lands, it's going to charge right at you." Ash said, watching the Tauros get angry.
"Bayleef use Sweet Scent!"
Bayleef let out a soothing aroma as Tauros started to get back up, even managing to calm the raging bull.
"Now use Razor Leaf!"
Bayleef swung his head back and forth unleashing several sharp leaves that struck Tauros multiple times causing the normal type to fall down from damage.
"Now, Pokeball, go!" Casey called out, capturing the bull pokemon.
Ash nodded calmly, knowing it had taken a lot for Casey to ask for his help, but in the end it was worth it.
