I pedaled my bike as hard as I could, my heart pounding, trying to make up for the lost time. My throat was dry, and I could feel the urgency building as I raced to catch the subway.

I quickly locked my bike to a tree near the station and sprinted for the subway platform. My timing was tight, and just as I arrived, the subway was leaving. I banged on the door, and luckily, the driver opened it. However, I couldn't ignore the dirty look the driver shot my way as I stepped on board and found an empty seat next to my best friend, Sidon Ace.

Sidon always had a way of talking grandly, as if he belonged to a different era maybe the Ocarina of Time Era from history class. He greeted me, his words flowing in that unique Sidon manner, "My good friend, you are late. Did you not sleep well?"

I muttered my response, feeling a mix of exhaustion and annoyance, "Sister stole my homework." Sidon's grin, his signature grin, appeared on his face.

He leaned in closer, eyes twinkling with mischief, "I think you got that wrong, my good friend. I believe you mean 'a monkey ate my homework.' As for sisters, let me give you some advice – they are impossible to deal with. My dear sister, Mipha, is OLDER than me, and it is horrendously horrible to deal with her!"

I couldn't help but laugh at Sidon's theatrics. "Am I talking to Sidon or Kaepora Gaebora?" I teased as the subway carried us forward. And as we continued our journey, I couldn't help but appreciate having a friend like Sidon who always knew how to make me laugh, even on those hectic mornings. To be continued... once more.
