Chapter 19: Crossing A New Leaf

Peach, Revali, and Riki found themselves in a nice and quaint village. "This is a waste of time," Revali scolded. "Now now. There's a reason why they say to never judge a book by its cover," Peach said. "Pink lady know nothing. This is no book," Riki said. "It's a metaphor," Peach said. "No matter the metaphor. This is a village filled with animals. Animals who farm or build. They are not fighters," Revali said. "We'll see about that," Preach said.

They walked through the village. The villagers all greeted them. It's a nice community out in the wilds. Who would've thought of it? "Excuse me. Do you by chance know who's in charge here?" Peach asked. "And make it quick. We are low on time," Revali said. "Bird Brain not very nice," Riki said. "Who cares?" Revali insulted. "Oh, well the mayor should be at town hall if you need to meet with him," the villager said. "Thank you very much," Peach said.

They walked to the Town Hall. They entered and found a dog frantically typing on a keyboard and typing computers. "Huh. I wonder what her words per minute are," Peach said. "Huh? Oh sorry. It's just a lot of paperwork," she said, "I'm Isabelle. The Mayor's Assitant." "Charmed," Revali said. "Me believes dog lady should take rest," Riki said. "Oh no. I love doing work. I'm just built for it," Isabelle said. "Well anyway, Ms. Isabelle, we were told we'd find the mayor here," Peach said. "Oh yes! Down the hall, third door to the right," Isabelle said. "Okay then. We'll get going," Peach said.

They walked down the hall, found the third door to the right, and opened it. "Excuse me. Mr. Mayor?" Peach asked. "Huh? Oh please. Come in. Come in," the mayor said. They walked in. "Please, take a seat," the mayor said. They pulled up some wooden chairs and sat in them. "So, you're the mayor," Peach said. "Please, call me Villager," he said. "Villager?" Peach questioned. "Yes, I come from a long line of Villagers. Villager the first. Villager the second. Grandpappy Villager. Victoria Villager, and my cousin from Mexico, Aldeano. I'm Villager the tenth," Villager said. "Right," Peach said. "Delusional," Revali said. "Quiet," Peach said. "So, what brings you fine people to my office?" Villager asked.

"Mr. Villager. We require your help," Peach said. "They require your aid," Revali said. "Ignore Bird Brain," Riki said. "Please, Villager. We need your help to defeat a group of villains set to take over the universe," Peach explained. "A group of villains eh? I'm not sure how we can help you though. We can fight, we just don't," Villager said. "See, this is a waste of time," Revali said. "Please. We need all the help we can get," Peach said. "Well… I really don't have much scheduled… then again, I do like to plan a lot," Villager said. "See, he can help make battle plans," Peach said. "I suppose," Revali scoffed. "Okay, I will help you, as long as Isabelle accompanies. You must understand I cannot risk the other Villagers, but Isabelle helps me get things done," Villager said. "The more the merrier," Peach said. "Alright. Isabelle, we're taking a trip!" Villager called out. "Okay Mr. Mayor!" Isabelle yelled back.

Villager and Isabelle packed their things. Villager stood in front of the entire village. "People of Animal Crossing!" he called, "I have been notified that there is a great threat against the universe, and I will not let it stand! I will join these heroes in their journey to stop this evil and bring peace to all!" The Villagers cheered.

Their cheers were suddenly muted. The sounds of motorcycles approached. "Oh no," Peach said. Two motorcycles arrived in front of the Town Hall. Wario and Waluigi rode them. "Wahaha! Here ye! Here ye! This is Wario Crossing now!" Wario announced. "Oh yeah. Wario Crossing," Waluigi said. "Wario & Waluigi," Peach said. "Ah! Peach! Bowser told us you got away!" Wario yelled. "Why are you two doing this?" Peach asked. "Because we're villains! And we deserve to be treated as villains!" Waluigi yelled. "Uh, yeah you both are villains," Peach said, "Right everyone?" Everyone agreed. "Too late Peach! Now we will show you to respect us! By taking over the entire universe!" Wario yelled. "Yeah," Waluigi said.

Wario and Waluigi revved up their bikes. "We can't let them destroy this village," Peach said. "Unfortunately, you are correct," Revali said. "Riki show you the power of the heropon!" Riki yelled. Wario and Waluigi charged forward. Revali used Revali's gale and caused a wind burst so he could get the high ground. The Villagers screamed as Wario and Waluigi drove through their crops. "Wahaha!" Wario laughed. "Take this!" Peach yelled as she kicked Wario in the face. "Oh, you may be a girl, but I'll show you what happens when you mess with the Wario!" Wario yelled. "Bitey Bitey!" Riki yelled as he bit Waluigi on the nose. "WAAH! GET OFF!" Waluigi yelled. Waluigi crashed his bike into a tree. "C'mon! Put 'em up! Put 'em up!" Wario yelled. Wario tried to punch Peach but Peach dodged. Peach punched Wario in the face. Wario punched back but Peach dodged again. Peach then kicked Wario in the stomach.

"Hm. Just a little more and…" Revali said. Revali spotted Waluigi and shot an ice arrow, freezing him. "Wah," Waluigi said. "Roly-Poly!" Riki yelled as he rolled into Waluigi. "Hehehehehe!" "What was that?" Peach asked. "Wahahaha! Help arrived!" Wario yelled. In the air, a witch was riding a broomstick. "Grunty! Deal with the flying one!" Wario yelled. "With pleasure!" Gruntilda yelled as she shot magic at Revali. Revali flew away as the spell chased him. "Get back here birdy!" Gruntilda yelled. Revali scoffed, "Asinine," Revali said as he turned around and shot three bomb arrows. He blew up the spell and the other two arrows blew up besides Gruntilda. "Ugh! You son of a," Gruntilda said. Revali shot an electric arrow and shocked Gruntilda. "AHHH!" Gruntilda yelled as she fell to the ground.

Villager and Isabelle hid behind a pillar in Town Hall. "We gotta do something," Villager said. "But what mayor?" Isabelle asked. "Hm," Villager said as he looked around. Villager found a water bucket. "I got an idea," Villager said.

Wario had grabbed Peach and held her tightly. "Now you'll see my wrath!" Wario yelled. "Take this!" Villager yelled. "Wah?" Wario questioned. Villager stuck the bucket straight into Wario's head. "Wah! Get this off me!" Wario yelled. "Isabelle! Now!" Villager yelled. "Yes!" Isabelle yelled as she threw a fishing rod, grabbed the handle of the bucket, and flung Wario around. "WAAAAAAAH!" Wario screamed. "Keep him there and…" Revali said as he shot an ice arrow and froze Wario. "Yeah! Teamwork!" Villager yelled. Revali scoffed, but secretly gave a smile without showing anyone. "Ugh! This is not over!" Gruntilda yelled. "Oh!" Riki yelled. "Wahaha! Give up, or we kill the rodent," Waluigi said as he held Riki in his hand. "Yeah!" Gruntilda yelled as she flung her broom onto her back, accidentally breaking a window. "Oops, sorry," Gruntilda said.

"Oh no," Villager said as his eyes widened. "What? What does that mean?" Peach asked. "It better not be something stupid," Revali said as he shot an arrow, forcing Waluigi to let go of Riki as Riki ran back with the group. The Villagers of the village all came out of their hiding spaces, eyes widened. "Quickly! To the shelter!" Villager yelled. The Villagers screamed as they ran all around, distracting Waluigi and Gruntilda and the frozen Wario. "What's going on?!" Peach yelled. "Come on!" Villager screamed as he grabbed Peach, Revali and Riki and took them to an underground shelter. "Wait, what about Isabelle?" Peach asked. "She'll be fine! Shut the doors!" Villager yelled.

The doors to the shelter were shut. The doors said, "Use in case of Isabellistic Mode." "What's Isabellistic?" Revali asked. "Wah, they left us with the dog," Waluigi said. "Hehehehe! We'll kill her!" Gruntilda yelled. Suddenly everything outside went silent. "YOU BROKE A WINDOW!" Isabelle screamed. A blinding light shined from outside straight into the shelter. "WAAAAAAH!" The Wario Bros. screamed. "AHHHHHHHH!" Gruntilda screamed. Then the light faded away and everything went silent.

Villager panted quickly. "What was that?!" Revali asked. "Isabelle went Isabellistic, and trust me, you never want to see her when she goes Isabellistic," Villager said. "Ooookay," Peach said with fear. Villager opened the shelter door, showing that the rest of the Village remained intact, well besides the giant crater where the Wario Bros. and Gruntilda were. Isabelle was steaming and looked all innocent. "Problem solved," Isabelle said with a smile. Peach took a look into the crater, only seeing trophies of the Wario Bros. and Gruntilda. "Well, that's one way to solve a problem," Peach said.

The Villagers got to wiping and fixing the mess. They filled the crater with dirt. They carefully fixed the one window without breaking it more. Revali picked up the trophies and placed them on a cart. "And that's the last of them," Peach said. "Well, when are we heading our way?" Villager asked. "You're still going to come?" Peach asked. "Please, the scariest thing is that Isabelle goes Isabellistic," Villager said. "And you could use all the help you can get," Villager said. "Well, we better get going then," Peach said.

And so they left the village of Animal Crossing with new allies and the trophies of villains.
