Chapter 3
WE ARE SO BACK OMG IT'S BEEN SO LONG HOLY MOLY I'M SO SORRY
"Well here it is," Risuko said, "The full report on the new child."
She handed a folder to Misato.
"Thank you." Misato groaned. She was exhausted, she had been at her desk all day doing paperwork.
"I'll leave you to it." Ritsuko said with a smug look on her face as she left.
'I wish Kaji was here to keep me entertained.' Misato thought.
She looked through the file."That's odd," she said. "The only information about this kid is how eligible he is to be a pilot, no address, no date of birth, nothing."
Misatio then felt a hand grab her shoulder. She turned around to see Kaji's charming face staring right at her.
"What's cookin' good lookin'?" He said with a smirk.
"Oh you know," Misato said. "Mountains of paperwork and a new Eva pilot."
"Wow!" Kaji exclaimed. "Really riveting stuff."
Kaji kissed Misato on the forehead and went for the door. "See you when you're done?" He asked.
"Of course," Misato said. "I'll be done as soon as I can."
She looked back at the file for the new pilot. "I haven't even met this kid and I already have a weird feeling about him."
Back at Misato's apartment, Asuka and Shinji are getting ready for a date.
"Shinji, you're moving slower than a snail stuck in cement! we're gonna be late for the movie!"
Shinji was still getting dressed. He hadn't even combed his hair yet. "I'm almost ready!" He yelled from down the hall.
"If you aren't ready in 3 minutes i'm gonna kick the shit out of you and then go by myself" Asuka snarled. Shinji hasn't been threatened like that for a long time. He hurried and was ready in exactly 1 minute and 43 seconds. Shinji and Asuka walked out the door. "Sorry for threatening you like that, I'm just very passionate about Mean Girls."
"It's okay" Shinji reassured her, "I know how long you've been waiting for this Mean Girls remake."
They got to the movie theater to see Toji running the ticket booth. "What the hell are you doing here Toji?" Asuka yelled.
"I gotta make money somehow dumbass." Toji said bitterly.
"What'd you just call me?" Asuka snapped.
Shinji intervened before it got worse. "2 tickets to Mean Girls please Toji"
Shinji paid for the tickets and rushed Asuka into the theater before the situation escalated more.
When the movie was over Asuka was practically frolicking on their walk home "Shinji wasn't that amazing I mean I thought it was amazing but what did you think wow I loved it so much Mean Girls is my favorite movie ever!" Asuka was talking so fast Shinji could barely keep up with what she was saying. "Yes I thought it was very funny, I loved it too."
As they got to the apartment door they noticed it was cracked open. "Misato must have beat us home." Shinji said.
"That's impossible, her car isn't here." Asuka said.
"You mean someone broke in?" Shinji said, his voice trembling.
"Yes, and we're gonna kick their ass." Asuka said.
"What if we get hurt?" Shinji mumbled.
Asuka confusingly looked at him. "We've taken on fucking angles from god knows where. You think we can't take on some random dude?" Asuka asked.
"Okay fine but you go first." Shinji said.
"Oh so you'll charge head first at an angel but not a person?" Asuka groaned.
They went inside to find that everything was fine, no mess and nothing was missing.
"You check your room, I'll check mine." Asuka whispered.
Asuka checked her room, empty.
Shinji checked his room to see a pair of red eyes staring at him from the darkness 'Oh god, I really hope Albert Wesker isn't real' Shinji thought. Shinji turned on the light to see a young boy, about his age. He had gray hair and a white button shirt. "I've been waiting quite some time, Shinji." the boy said.
Asuka bursted into the room. "Who the hell are you?" She shouted.
"Oh yes, where are my manners?" The boy said. "My name is Kaworu. I'm the new pilot."
"Okay Kaworu" Asuka said in a mocking voice. "What the hell are you doing in our apartment?"
"The commander told me to get acquainted with everyone." Kaworu said.
"Yeah when we're actually at NERV don't just break into our house you sicko!" Asuka shouted.
"My apologies, I'll be on my way then." Kaworu calmly said. Shinji said bye while Asuka glared on from a distance. Before Kaworu left, he gave Shinji a hug. "I look forward to working with you." The door closed and Shinji turned to see Asuka staring in disgust.
"What the hell was that?" She angrily asked.
"Just a friendly hug I'm sure. Maybe he's lonely." Shinji replied.
"Friendly my ass. His eyes said otherwise." Asuka exclaimed.
"Well let's not worry about it right now, we have testing tomorrow." Shinji said.
"Whatever. Goodnight nerd." Asuka said.
Shinji and Asuka went to bed.
Kaworu stared at their apartment from afar. "Soon Shinji, soon"
The next day, all of the pilots were running tests with their Evas.
The pilots were in their assigned Evas. All tests were going great, sync rates were good as always. "Everything looks great." Ritsuko said.
"Good, how's Kaworu doing?" Misato asked.
Ritsuko checked on Kaworu to see that his sync rates were extraordinary.
"Wow. These are amazing, especially for his first time in an Eva." Ritsuko said, astonished.
Some time passed and Shinji was eating lunch with Toji in the NERV cafeteria.
"What do you think of the new kid?" Toji asked.
"I think he's really nice." Shinji said.
"Yeah, a bit too nice if you ask me. Somethings up with him man i'm tellin ya." Toji whispered.
"Why are you whispering?" Shinji whispered back.
"Because for all I know he could be a spy, watching, waiting, listening." Toji whispered.
"You're just paranoid." Shinji said." He's just a nice guy. Matter of fact, we're hanging out today."
"Well if you become a brainwashed goon for whatever super villain spy plan he has, don't come crying to me." Toji snarked.
"Sure thing Toji" Shinji said.
2 hours passed and Shinji was at Kaworu's apartment. They were playing chess.
"You're pretty good at chess, Shinji." Kaworu said.
"Thanks, I've played it for quite some time." Shinji said.
"I can tell, you're amazing." Kaworu said.
"Checkmate." Shinji said.
Kaworu was a bit shocked, but happy. "That's amazing Shinji, well done." Kaworu said with a smile. "Let me get you something to drink."
"Thank you Kaworu, that's very nice of you." Shinji said.
"It's my pleasure." Kaworu said. Kaworu went into the kitchen to pour Shinji a glass of water.
"It's funny, Toji said you were an evil spy or something but you're so nice." Shinji said.
"Is that so?" Kaworu asked. "How odd." Kaworu grabbed a clear syringe of sorts and injected it into the glass. Kaworu stepped back into the room and handed Shinji the glass.
"Enjoy." Kaworu said.
"Thank you." Shinji said as he grabbed the glass and took a few sips.
"You know something Shinji?" Kaworu began.
"What?" Shinji replied.
"I don't blame Toji for calling me a spy." Kaworu said.
Shinji was confused.
"As soon as that syringe kicks in, I can finally fix the world."
"What are you?" Shinji began to say. But he suddenly passed out and hit the floor, the rest of the liquid in his glass spilling all over the tile floor.
"Finally." Kaworu said. "My work can finally begin."
