Chapter 4
I'm out here posting 2 chapters in a day because it's been forever and I have all the time in the world rn #LuckyMe. I very much enjoy making this story super unserious. I think i'm a genius.
Shinji woke up to find himself tied up to a chair. 'How cliche.' He thought.
He looked around to see that he was no longer in Kaworu's apartment. It was very hot, it felt like he was in an oven. The walls looked like stone. 'He took me to a cave.' There were tables everywhere with pictures of all the pilots and important NERV employees, along with blueprints of an Eva Shinji had never seen before. "Unit 06." Shinji wondered what this all meant. That was when Kaworu came into the room.
"It's about time you woke up, I was getting tired of talking to myself." Kaworu said.
"Where are we? Why did you take me here? Why did you lie to me?" Shinji screamed.
"Relax Shinji. Everything will be just fine, as long as you cooperate." Kaworu said.
"What are you trying to do here?" Shinji demanded.
"The human race requires judgment." Kaworu began. He then pulled a lever and a large door opened, revealing lava, some sunlight, and Unit 06. Unit 06 was nothing like Shinji had ever seen. It was navy blue with orange, had a horn like Unit 01 and a red visor that went from one side of its face to the other, and it had the spear of Cassius.
"Lava?" Shinji questioned. "You took me to Mt. Fuji?"
"Like what I've done with the place?" Kaworu said.
Shinji said nothing.
"With Unit 06, I have the power to cause third impact." Kaworu said.
"You're going to destroy the world?" Shinji yelled.
"Every day humans come one step closer to self destruction. I'm not destroying the world, I'm saving it. The right to be a god, that right is now mine."
"What are you talking about?" Shinji asked.
"So slow to catch on." Kaworu said. "Once third impact has happened. I can reform the earth and all of its people to how I see fit. I will be a god to them."
"This sounds so familiar." Shinji said.
"What are you talking about?" Kaworu snapped.
"Yeah I've heard all of this in Resident Evil 5. Are you quoting Albert Wesker?" Shinji said.
"Yeah well maybe I think some things that Wesker says are cool okay? Kaworu growled.
"You are so corny." Shinji chuckled.
"Oh you think this is funny? Let's see how you laugh when you're the one that initiates third impact." Kaworu said.
Shinji's smile immediately faded. "What are you talking about?" Shinji said.
"Well I can't waste all of my energy causing third impact and fighting everyone at NERV because of course they're gonna try to stop me. So what better way than to use the chip I put into your head to make you do all the hard work for me." Kaworu said.
"You'll never get away with this." Shinji said.
"Oh Shinji, I already have." Kaworu said.
"You are still so corny." Shinji said.
Back at NERV, Asuka was on a rampage demanding everyone tell her where Shinji is.
She's been doing it all day. She's even asked some people more than five times. She came up to Misato to ask her for the seventh time. Misato already knew what Asuka was going to say and spoke before Asuka got the chance. "No we haven't found him, we are searching the whole city it's gonna take time."
"I don't care how hard you're trying or how long you say this is going to take!" Asuka yelled. "You need to find my boyfriend immediately!" Asuka's tone began to soften. "He wouldn't just disappear like this, it isn't like him." Asuka was holding back tears.
"I know Asuka, he wouldn't do this, something bad happened, and no one has seen Kaworu either." Misato said.
"What!" Asuka's tone rose right back up to a full yell. "I swear to god if that blood sucking, red eyed, elderly gray haired freak did anything to Shinji I am going to rip him apart!"
Toji overheard from down the hall. "I knew it! I knew that kid was bad news but Shinji didn't believe me! Well who's laughing now? Me! I'm the laugher, I'm the laughingest laugher that ever laughed! Ha ha ha!" Toji yelled.
Asuka and Misato sat and stared at him, confused as to why he made a diary of a wimpy kid reference in such a serious situation.
Toji cleared his throat. "But in all seriousness, we need to find him and fast. Who knows what Kaworu could be doing to him."
"Well we don't know for sure that Kaworu did it, for all we know they both could have got kidnapped or gone missing or whatever happened to them." Misato said.
Toji and Asuka both rolled their eyes. "Well then me and Toji are going to go search Kaworu's apartment since that's where they last were." Asuka said.
"Well let's not waste any time." Toji said.
Toji and Asuka rushed to get to Kaworu's apartment.
Rei walked in.
"Oh Rei, you just missed Toji and Asuka." Misato said. "Luckily for you, I'm here and you can help me look at the computers and data for info on Shinji, isn't it great."
"Okay." Rei said, her voice was just as bland and monotone as always.
Toji and Asuka arrived at Kaworu's apartment.
Toji tried the doorknob but it was locked.
"Did you expect it to be unlocked dumbass?" Asuka snarked.
"Well I don't assume you have a better idea." Toji groaned.
"As a matter of fact, I do." Asuka said. Asuka attempted to kick the door down but the door barely budged.
"Oh yeah, really great idea, idiot!" Toji said.
"Well at least I'm not dumb enough to assume the door would be unlocked!" Asuka shouted.
"Well now what do we do?" Toji asked.
Asuka looked to the side and saw a brick.
"Well isn't that convenient." Asuka said. Asuka grabbed a brick and threw it through Kaworu's window.
"Nice!" Toji said. "Let's go."
They entered the apartment and looked around, Toji found the spilled glass on the floor.
"Hey Asuka, come look at this." Toji said. "I think I found something."
"Yeah me too." Asuka said. She approached Toji with a book in her hand.
"What's that?" Toji asked.
"It's that gray haired shithead's diary." Asuka said.
"Of course he out of all people has a diary." Toji said.
Asuka opened it and began to read the page labeled "Shinji"
"Shinji is the catalyst for third impact, I need him so I can reshape the world. Good thing he's coming over tomorrow so I can drug him and take him away to complete my work. Not to mention he's also super good looking. Maybe he can rule with me in my new world."
"Oh my god." Asuka said. "That fucker is going after my man!"
Toji looked confused. "And he's going to start third impact."
"Yes that's important too but still, that's weird." Asuka said. "Anyways what did you find"
"I found this spilled glass and I think it's what Kaworu used to drug Shin-man." Toji said.
"That's what you call him?" Asuka questioned.
"Yeah, something wrong with it?" Toji replied.
"No no not at all I just think it's… interesting." Asuka said.
"Whatever." Toji said. "Let's focus here."
"Yes, right." Asuka said. "Let's head back to NERV and tell Misato what we found.
They got back to Misato's office and saw her and Rei checking the computers.
"Yeah so it turns out we were right and you were wrong." Toji snarked. "We found Kaworu's diary and it said he was gonna start third impact and use Shinji to do it."
"And he has a crush on Shinji!" Asuka blurted.
Misato stared at her for a second. "Right." She said. "But that's great news, well done you two."
"So have you found him?" Asuka asked.
"No but we can, luckily for us Gendo doesn't trust you guys at all and put trackers on all of the Evas." Misato said.
Rei entered some stuff on the computer and pulled up the location of Unit 06. "Here." She said.
"Mt Fuji?" Toji said in shock "Why there?"
"Because why would we look in a volcano, dumbass?" Asuka said.
"Fair point." Toji said.
"Well what are we waiting for?" Asuka said. "Let's haul ass over there and stop Kaworu!"
"Bad idea." Misato said. "He'd definitely see us coming and could hurt Shinji."
"Agreed." Rei said.
"Hey." Asuka said. "Was anyone talking to you, Bluey?"
"Sorry." Rei said.
"Anyways you're probably right Misato." Asuka said.
"Right then. Let's see what happens and do what we can. God bless us all." Misato said.
Back at Mt. Fuji is still tied up.
"Such a shame it had to come to this Shinji. You're a handsome guy you know? Maybe after all of this, you'd like to rule with me?" Kaworu said.
"I have a girlfriend for one, and even if I didn't I'm not gay. And even if I was, in your dreams!" Shinji said.
Kaworu frowned. "Words hurt man." he said. "Doesn't matter, soon you'll be under my control at the press of a button."
"You won't get away with this. NERV will stop you." Shinji said.
"They can try Shinji, they can try." Kaworu said. "The time has come. I know NERV has probably used the tracker on Unit 06 by now. I wish it didn't have to come to this."
Kaworu pressed the button and the chip activated.
"Excellent, now go sneak into NERV, retrieve Unit 01. And the rest will unfold as planned."
Shinji complied, and he made his way back to NERV.
