In the vast majority of the multiverse, it looked like a gigantic web that was always connecting to other strands. When these strands continue to interconnect, they form vast worlds and realities.

"Time." A mysterious voice called out, as one world showed off Peggy Carter ending up in the current time. She then fell in love with Richard Parker, leading to the two getting married.

"Space." Elsa Oldenberg was currently in deep space, fighting off Chitauri with the help of Peter Parker. By their side were also Rocket Raccoon and Groot the living tree.

Then a world where the Fantastic Four, led by Spider-Man, fought to protect their world from Reed Richards and Maximus Boltagon. "Reality."

Then there was a simpler reality where Peter Barton and Yolanda Montez fell in love. "It's more than a linear path."

"It's a prism of endless possibilities." Then an even darker world where Peter Parker was raised by HYDRA and conquered the world. He sat on a giant throne, surrounded by slaves of the conquered world, as well as the six infinity stones around his chest. "Where a single choice can branch out into infinite realities."

Speeding past infinite different bundles and webbing showing off the thousands of different realities. They were created by either small unnoticeable choices or gigantic moments that were altered. "Creating alternate worlds from the ones you already know."

Then we are met with a giant figure who stares at the vast universe, looking down at the extended universe of the What If Universe. "I am the Watcher. I am your guide throughout all of these vast new realities. Follow me, and we'll journey into the unknown and ponder the question..."

"What if...?"

As John Diggle crept through the streets of Star City, he couldn't help but feel a sense of familiarity. After all, he had traversed these same roads countless times before. But this time was different. He was on a mission - a secret mission - to investigate a meeting place that had purportedly uncovered some major conspiracies.

The request had come from Lyla, his superior at ARGUS, who had received intel about a potential threat to the city. However, she didn't want to put any of her agents in harm's way without first verifying the legitimacy of the claims. This was where Diggle came in. He was a skilled operative, with years of experience under his belt.

Upon reaching the meeting place, Diggle quickly surveyed his surroundings. He observed that the building was nondescript, with no visible signs of activity. But as he drew closer, he noticed a man standing around a bulletin board. The board was covered in various newspaper clippings, photographs, and handwritten notes, all connected with strings and pins. It was the kind of board that would make any conspiracy theorist proud.

"Imagine a world where information can't be trusted." Alex Scott tells Diggle. "Not very hard, is it? News service says one thing, and the website says another. Society starts to fray. All we can turn to are the people we care about. But what if those people weren't who we thought they were? What if the ones closest to us, the ones we've trusted our whole lives were someone else entirely? What if they weren't even human?

"Agent Scott, respectfully..." Diggle wasn't sure he was following. "Uuh, what exactly are you talking about?"

"Chaos," Scott tells him. "And that's only the beginning. Five global terrorist strikes within the past year. Each one claimed by a different group."

"It's business as usual." Diggle wasn't following his point.

"That's precisely what they want you to think." Scott stated "Argentina attacks Colombia, Colombia attacks the Philippines. A violent chain reaction consuming the globe. Do you realize that the entire world is at war?"

"Well, the atmosphere has been tense lately." Diggle had to admit that was a problem.

"There is an architect to that tension, Agent Diggle," Scott stated. " These attacks are escalating. If they hit the soil of the major power... Oh."

"So you think the same people are behind all of this?" Diggle asks.

"Not people," Scott replied as if it were a fact. "Skrulls."

Diggle scoffed when he heard that. "Alright, we're done."

Scott jumped in front as Diggle tried to leave. "Come on, Diggle, you know the stories. This didn't start yesterday." He then handed Diggle an old case file from ARGUS. "In 1987, a spacecraft crash-landed in American soil, covered up as a failed spacecraft mission, but ARGUS holds the truth. It was a ship full of alien shapeshifters. Can't you see it? All of the groups that are attacking are all committed by the same group of Skrulls. I mean, Skrulls could be anybody, anywhere, at any time."

"Okay, but there haven't been any reports of these... Skrulls on earth in 20 years." Diggle informed him. "We don't know how many of them are here if they even are still here. And if they're still here, then there definitely aren't enough-"

"Enough to do what, Diggle?" Scott asked him in a sarcastic tone. "You have no idea what you're talking about! There's nothing about how they reproduce, so there could be thousands of them by now. Tens of thousands. And you would never know. They could have infiltrated our ranks. Our homes. Our friends."

Diggle sighed as he knew he needed to stay calm to help this man. "Alright, Scott, I need you to listen to me. If these Skrulls are out there, and if they can shapeshift, what do they want with our world?"

"What else do invaders ever want?" Scott asks sarcastically. "Our land and resources."

Diggle groaned as he knew he wasn't getting anywhere. "Okay, look, Scott, if I'm going to bring in ARGUS on this wild Skrull chase, I need to bring the Director something more concrete than some theories. I need solid evidence."

Scott nodded as he walked over towards a wall and small brick out of the way to reveal a small compartment. Inside was what appeared to be a flash drive. He then brought it over to Diggle, who seemed a little confused by what he was seeing.

"All these other attacks will seem like nothing compared to what you're about to see. This is the beginning of what sets the world on fire." Scott warned as he handed it to disk to Diggle.

As Diggle inserted the drive into his phone and began to examine the contents, he felt a wave of confusion wash over him. The drive was filled with a vast amount of information, listing names, known aliases, and even the current whereabouts of some of the most powerful and influential individuals in the world. From Oliver Queen, Peter Parker, and Slade Wilson, to Ray Palmer, Susan Brayden, Bruce Wayne, and Kate Kane, every person who was either a top-tier government official or someone who held significant power and influence had their details recorded on the drive. Diggle was taken aback by the sheer volume of information and the implications it held.

"I stopped filing the reports at the office when I found this out," Scott explained. "This was downloaded off of the computers at ARGUS over the course of months. Ever since the Particle Accelerator blew up in Central City, first it started with Amanda Waller then it went on to Lyla Michales. She's the only person who I thought I could trust with this."

Diggle was starting to see something in this and closed the drive. "Okay, look, I'll take this information and I'll bring it to Director Michales.." he offered to Scott, trying to keep him calm. "Okay?"

Scott nodded in relief when he noticed Diggle was reaching behind his back. For his gun! Scott reacted quickly as he tackled Diggle before he could get the gun out of the holster. Struggling with Diggle proved a little bit more difficult than one would think considering he was much bigger and much stronger than Scott was. Even though he had the upper hand at the beginning, it didn't take long for Diggle to take Scott down and place him in a chokehold. Scott didn't last long until Diggle took him out and dropped the man.

Diggle backed away in fear as he then ran out the back way with the drive in his hands."I have it. I need an evac. Quickly."

Diggle was in the midst of contacting someone when he noticed that someone else was listening in on his conversation. Little did he know that by doing so, he had unwittingly pinpointed his location to his foes. In a matter of seconds, a map appeared on a screen inside a nearby van, with several red dots indicating the location of his pursuers, all closing in on a green one that represented Diggle himself.

Fearing for his life, Diggle decided to make a run for it and escape through the back alleys. However, his attackers were quick to respond and soon caught up with him, unleashing a hail of bullets from their guns. In response, Diggle pulled out his own weapon and started to shoot back, all the while seeking cover to avoid getting hit.

As he continued to flee, he found himself inside an unfamiliar building, which turned out to be occupied by a squad from a mysterious organization known as the DEO. Diggle had no idea what the organization was about, but he knew he didn't want to stick around to find out.

He raced up the stairs to the rooftop, hoping to lose his pursuers and escape. But just as he reached the top, he was met with a new group of people; agents from ARGUS had arrived on the scene to help him out. However, before he could make his escape, a sniper in a helicopter spotted him and fired a shot, hitting him in the back.

Diggle fell from the rooftop to the ground below, his body hitting the pavement with a sickening splat that sent shockwaves through everyone who witnessed it.

Lyla exited her vehicle in shock and horror when she saw what happened. "Diggle!"

"Lyla," Diggle growled as he somehow survived.

However, someone came propelling down from the helicopter on a rope and landed in front of Diggle before Lyla could react. Lyla reacted quickly as she reached and aimed at the person who shot Diggle.

"Hey!" Lyla cried. "Identify yourself!"

The masked figure then yanked their mask off and revealed it was Alex Danvers, "I'm Alex Danvers of the DEO."

"Wanna tell me why you shot and chased down one of my men?" Lyla asks.

Alex didn't answer as she approached Diggle and kicked him in the face. Blood splattered out, and to everyone's shock, it wasn't red blood. It was purple.

"Because he's not one of your men. He's not even a man." Alex explained as she drew a knife and stabbed Diggle in the chest through his back. Then to everyone's shock, the man they once knew vanished and was replaced by a pointy-eared green reptilian-like skinned alien. "He's one of them."

"What the hell is going on?" Lyla asks in shock and terror.

"We're being invaded, Director Michales," Alex informed the woman in terror. "And this is only the beginning."

The Watcher was present for the whole scene and was disturbed by what he had watched. "I have seen many realities. But this one...you don't want to believe anything. You can't believe anything. Nothing is as it seems in this reality. And the most important thing to remember...don't...trust anyone. As for me, these are my stories. I observe all that transpires here, but I do not interfere, cannot stop fate, can't do anything but observe. For I am..."

"The Watcher."
