Character Questions: Devin

Full name: Devin of the Imp Tribe

Nickname: Dee (by his younger siblings), The Ice Queen (one of her self-appointed monikers), The One True Master of Cold (another self-appointed moniker)

Occupation: Head Detective of the Tribal Detective Agency Main Branch and on/off Mercenary

Appearance: Same genetic makeup as Tea and Koga before their Imp genes overwrote everything. Dark skin, brown hair, brown eyes. After the Imp Genes kicked in, Dee's skin tone lightened, and her hair became a shorter cool blonde barely going past her chin. Her eyes became snow-white. Also, two face paint marks start on opposite sides of her cheek. The one on her left is blue, and the other on the right is red with the latter over the under. Like her younger sister, Dee's also ripped, arguably more so. And much like her Imp brethren, Dee has an irezumi of a throne.

Age: 28

Mannerisms: Personifies the term 'smartass.' Smug, clever, quick-witted, and has a razor-sharp tongue. With that behavior hides a thick layer of sarcasm and snark. Devin rarely speaks with an air of formality and is almost always casual. But don't let that fool you. Dee is brilliant, though she may be the first to admit she's the dumbest of her siblings. Simply put, Dee's 'charmingly bratty.'

What does he/she wear?: Dee wears a gray tank top with a cream long coat with red lines draped across it. She wears baggy gray camo pants and boots that match her coat, red gloves, and a matching headband around her neck, akin to a loose choker.

Favorite color: Cream

What is he/she good at?: An expert detective, but not on the level of her younger brother and sister. To make up for her lack of skills, Devin decided to add odd jobs and mercenary work to her branch of the Agency, showing she has a sharp mind for business. She's also a master swordswoman, choosing to wield the personification of her Ice Powers. A Zweihander whom she calls Ymani, the name of her, Koga, and Tea's mother. She also has complete control of Ice where she can create Ice out of the moisture in the air. If you can breathe, she can make Ice. There's no limit to what she can do with it. May God help you if you fight her and are around a body of water.

What is he/she bad at?: It's hard for Dee to take anything not involving her family seriously. That includes her job as the head detective of TDA's Main Branch. Even with Huey as her secretary, it's hard for her not to leave for extended periods of time.

What does he/she want?: To make the best of her life.

What is his/her goal?: To be there for her siblings.

What lie does he/she believe?: That her younger twin siblings don't want her around.

What flaw results from the lie?: She tends to be a loner to the point where they sometimes view her in a different light than Huey.

What truth does he/she learn?: That Tea and Koga love and cherish her and her company.

What is his/her background?

The Tale of the Oldest Demon Sibling is one you wouldn't expect. Dee was born five years before Tea and Koga, so she was around for certain events that they weren't. She built a relationship with both of their parents before their father was killed as the Imps were at the height of the war with Gerudos, the same war that drove the Twilight Era Chapter of the tribe to extinction. She was also there when her mother gave birth to her younger twin siblings and died due to exhaustion. Any other sibling would use those events to despise their younger siblings. But not Dee. She would grow to care for them twice as much as any sibling normally would, to make up for the absence of their birth parents. Their new guardian in the Imp Chief was more than up to raising the three.

Dee's birth was quite an event in itself. As she was the first Imp to be conceived out of a pairing that genuinely loved one another even to the tribe's many Chieftains the conception of children was always done out of necessity to keep the tribe alive in the next generation. The parents of Dee, Koga, and Tea received many notions of doubt. But the Creator Goddesses of Hyrule were moved by the sudden display of love and affection in the future parents. In gratitude, the three personally decided on how Devin would look when the Imp Genes would activate, normally leaving the overwriting to the genes themselves, which is why Dee has the Red and Blue marks on her face, it's a hidden indicator of Nayru and Din's involvement in her appearance. Farore involved herself but decided not to leave a mark like her sisters.

Growing up, Devin always had a sense of adventure and curiosity, the one thing that had a greater hold on her as she became a young woman was the love and affection she has and will always have for her siblings, even her adopted younger brother Huey. Still, when she turned eighteen it didn't take long for her to leave Kakariko and explore the world. She said her goodbyes to her younger brothers and sister, promising each of them they would be reunited before leaving. She would eventually become a mercenary taking on jobs, especially those of the combat variety. After some time she would meet a certain woman by the name of Nell Goldstein who would decipher that Dee was more than met the eye and only a few days before she completed Ebony and Ivory, would complete another piece of work she considered a masterpiece. A custom-made Magnum BFR with a ventilated rib that was 7.5 inches long. Nell refused to sell Devin bullets since she found out she was a cryomancer and suggested that she formed the bullets with her ice and out of respect for the woman's intelligence she didn't argue. Nell was fond of the young Devin, allowing her to name the Revolver herself. As the feeling was mutual since Dee affectionately called her 'Grandma' at this point, she relinquished the right back to her. As a result, Nell named the revolver Amber due to how despite the melting she did to create the gun, it remained cold to the touch.

After a few days of testing the gun and enjoying it more than she had ever imagined, Devin would return to thank Nell only to find her shop on fire. By the time she got inside, Nell was already gone, being held in the arms of a man with silver hair. That tragedy was how she would meet The Legendary Devil Hunter, Dante.

Becoming a temporary partner in his shop, she eventually made her way back to Hyrule since all her siblings were of age. So she would head to Hyrule Castle, and if she couldn't find them or get information on them she'd go to Kakariko to visit them there. The former was all that was needed to find her younger twin siblings. Koga at this point was getting depressed from the sudden separation from Zelda and thanks to Dee's sudden return he got out of the stupor and welcomed her back with open arms along with Tea. Huey was doing the same as her at this point.

Nowadays, Devin runs the Main Branch of TDA in Koga's stead since he moved to Manhattan with Huey. She also acts as the siblings' pseudo-mother while at the same time, helping Dante whenever he needs an extra pair of hands. All in all, Dee's pretty content with her life right now.
