Chapter Three

Lily rarely does what her mother tells her. It started when she was around two years old, and it has been like that ever since. Lily is strong-willed; she got it from her father.

When her mother sat her down when she was sixteen and told her about the prophecy that had been made about her, she laughed. She knew somehow she was different, having a sixth sense about things all her life.

She didn't know how, but she knew about things before they happened. Not that she was psychic, but she had the gift of knowing. It made it almost impossible for Buffy to keep anything from her.

Like her mother, Lily had a close group of friends from high school who she saw frequently. Sydney was the quiet girl of the group; she had mousy brown hair and brown eyes. Lily met Sydney in science class when one of the other girls picked on her for her glasses. Lily stuck up for Sydney, which resulted in Buffy having to come to school for a meeting with the principal, but Buffy was proud of Lily for standing up for what was right.

And of course Lily often asked about her father while she was growing up. Buffy had told her that she had met and fallen in love with her father, and that he had died shortly before she was born. Lily didn't want to press her mother for details because she saw how sad it made her.

Lily had never seen a photo of her father; she often wondered if she looked like him. She knew that she reminded her mother of him; she'd say something or do something and it was like Buffy was catapulted back in time to a memory of him.

Lily had just gotten off the phone with Sydney. They were planning to meet up at a club across town that they frequented.

Lily raided her wardrobe for the right outfit. She settled on a pair of black high-waisted jeans and a white silk vest, borrowing one from her mother's closet, along with an olive green blazer and high-heel black boots.

She got to the club in good time. Sydney was running late, so she entered the club alone and went to the bar to order a drink. She felt like someone was watching her, but she shrugged it off. Tonight was about catching up with her friend; she wasn't looking for trouble tonight.

Soon after Sydney arrived and the girls danced the night away. Lily just couldn't shake the feeling that somebody was watching her.

"Lil, are you okay?" Sydney yelled over the music

"Yeah, I just got a weird feeling… I'm good" Lily replied

"Are you sure? Let's get some air" said Sydney

Lily nodded and followed her friend outside. Lily took a deep breath in the cool air filled her lungs.

"Better?" asked Sydney

"Much" Lily smiled

"I'm gunna head home, Jerrod is picking me up" said Sydney

"Jerrod huh" Lily teased

"You gunna be okay?" asked Sydney

"Sure, I'll call you tomorrow" said Lily

The friends said their goodbyes and hugged and Sydney walked away. Lily stayed for a moment to compose herself before starting to walk home.

Lily had taken a shortcut through a dark alley. She had taken this shortcut so many times before, but tonight she felt uneasy. She felt like she was being followed.

Lily stopped and sighed "Who ever is following me, you better show yourself" she called out.

A vampire jumped out at her with a snarl.

"Oh goody… my mom is totally gunna love this" said Lily with a pout

The vampire attacked her, but she managed to dodge his first few punches before he connected with her face. Lily didn't back down; she kicked him in the stomach, which caused him to recoil backwards. She landed a few punches before grabbing a stake from her boot and plunging it into the vampire's chest.

The sound of applause came from behind her, she turned around to see a man with bleached blond hair and a long black leather duster standing there clapping his hands.

"Nice work luv" he said

"Who are you?" she asked

"It's been a while since I've run into a Slayer that didn't know who I am" he chuckled

"Enlighten me" Lily rolled her eyes

"Names Spike…" he told her

"Spike? As in William the Bloody?" Lily laughed "Hmm kinda impossible since y'know he's dead"

"Right you are, I did. Brought back wasn't I" he told her

"Ugh… whatever I soo don't have time for this" said Lily, turning around and walking away

"You remind me of the Slayer a bit actually" he told her

"The Slayer? There's a few hundred of them these days" said Lily turning back around to face him

"I'm talking about the original… Buffy Summers" he told her

"You know her?" She asked

"I did…" he shrugged

"If you are who you say you are, then you can answer this question… what was Buffy's address in Sunnydale?" She asked

"1630 Revello Drive. Her birthday is January 19. Her favourite colour is purple and she had a godawful pig named Mister Gordo. Anything else you wanna know?" He asked

Lily smiled a little and then frowned "Faith told us you were dead…"

"He wishes" said Spike

"So you're one of the baby Slayers huh?" He said lighting a cigarette

"Nope" said Lily

"You're a skilled fighter" he complimented her

"I'm her daughter" said Lily
