Stop the World
The great doors to the palace heaved open with a guttural grinding of stone. The space between them blossomed with light from the outside, and a pair of lithe figures, one tall and imposing, the other not so much of either, stepped inside.
"Open sesame." Dana trilled happily.
Olga, at her side, seemed dour as always. "We've places to go." She reminded the Maiden, wearing an irritable frown. She nodded up towards their queen and friend, Sarai, sat up on her throne on the dais above them. "We've people to see."
The Maiden shrugged and put on a mischievous smile. "Let's put 'em on hold." She knew Sarai wouldn't be offended if Dana didn't jump to greet her immediately.
She chuckled when Olga merely rolled her eyes.
Glancing around to make sure that they wouldn't be overheard, Dana leaned in close to whisper in Olga's ear, though the High Priestess did have to stoop a little to make it work.
"There's all sorts of shapes that I bet you can make." Dana smirked wickedly, trailing a few delicate fingers up the front of Olga's robes and delighting in that lovely blush that spread over the High Priestess' cheeks so quickly. "When you want to escape, say the word."
Olga didn't respond with words. Instead she straightened up and gave Dana a distinctly unamused glare.
Dana sighed, opting to try a different track. She smiled what she hoped was an innocent, bashful smile. "Well, I know that getting you alone isn't easy to do."
Olga huffed, and murmured something in what could have been an agreement or a denial in equal measure.
Before she could respond more than that however, a group of people suddenly approached the Maiden and began to give her their praise and their thanks, ignoring Olga altogether. Eventually, once Dana had satisfied them all with kind words, smiles and hurried blessings, she and the High Priestess were mercifully left alone once more.
"With the exception of you, I dislike everyone in the room." Olga muttered acidly as her eyes roved over the partygoers with thinly veiled disdain. "And … I don't wanna lie, but …" Olga sighed, holding her tongue before she said something crueller.
Dana chuckled. "'I don't wanna tell you the truth?'" She offered with a teasing smile before backing away, slowly at first, to allow Olga to follow.
Olga eyed the blue haired woman suspiciously as she gave chase. "Get the sense that you're on the move, and you'll probably be leaving soon-"
"So I'm telling you," Dana cut in with a smirk, "stop the world." She jerked her head to the soiree, the palace and all of Eternia even.
She paused. She blinked. Why did I say that? Dana's mind fell back to the visions of disaster and destruction she'd witnessed, where Eternia and all life everywhere was wiped out in a total and terrible disaster.
Olga raised a confused eyebrow. Concern etched into her face.
Dana shook off her worries and adopted a smirking expression. She leaned in closer once more, not to the Priestesses ear, but just so that Olga couldn't help but read the look in Dana's eyes, and wouldn't mistake it for anything else.
"Cause I wanna get off with you."
