Welcome, to the second volume of Fūin Shitei Tensei, Sealing Designate Reincarnation. I decided it was too much work to publish and manage god knows how many fanfics, so I decided to put them all into one.
I hope you all had a pleasant experience reading the trash which was the first volume and Saisho no Kami no Erejī: First Divine Elegy.
If you didn't, then why the hell are you still here?! Are your asses so lazy they can't even find another good fanfic to read?

Just a fair bit of warning. This is where my fanfic starts to get out of wack. So read with a grain of salt.
Of course, please, I hope you have a pleasant experience reading my newest work.
Good luck.
:)

Right. I almost must stress that you please read Saisho no Kami no Erejī: First Divine Elegy first. You won't understand anything otherwise.

It was evening when I arrived in the City of Roa. Traveling by carriage on land is much slower than flying. It usually takes six to seven hours from Buena Village, though flying can cut it down to one or two.

I know I've been here tens of times already, but I still can't quite believe the liveliness of this place. I glanced at what seemed to be a waiting station. I never paid attention to things like that on my previous trips. On those, I only cared about making as much money as possible. Why were there so many people waiting there?

"Ghislain, do you know what that is?" I asked the person with me.

"You..." She turned irritably toward me. "Are you trying to make fun of me?"

'Huh?' "No, I was just... I wondered what that was. I didn't know, so I hoped you would tell me."

"Oh, sorry. That's what you meant." She saw I was on the verge of tears and hurried to explain. 'That's the waiting area for the stagecoach. It's what people normally use to travel between cities. The other option is paying a peddler for a ride."

As the coach went on, Ghislaine continued pointing out each place and explained it to me. I knew Roa was big, but I never noticed how much variety it had. Most of the shops and pubs were unfamiliar, as I tried being as efficient as possible as a dealer, only visiting places I needed. And not to mention, why would a kid go into areas for adults like pubs or brothels? I had no wish to draw attention to myself more than necessary.

Ghislaine had a stern face while explaining, but she was kind. The atmosphere changed as we passed one street corner. I recognized this as one of the best places to sell Mystic Codes. There were lines of stores aimed at adventurers, a weapon smithy and an armor smith, and farther within, lines of shops for the townspeople. Residential homes were nestled deep in the alleyways. All in all, it was a pretty safe place.

A gigantic building was nestled right in the middle of the city. "That is the liege lord's manor," Ghislaine said.

"It looks more like a castle than a manor."

"Well, this is a fortified city, after all."

Roa was an ancient city with a noble past. Four hundred years ago, it was the last bastion of defense in the war against the demon race. That was why there was a castle in the city's center. That said, despite its mighty backstory, the nobles of the imperial capital saw Roa as nothing more than a crude, backwater city filled with adventurers.

"The fact that we came here must mean that the Young Mistress I'm here to teach is of high social status."

Ghislaine shook her head. "Not quite."

"Huh?" The Lord's manor was before us. By my reckoning, the only people who lived here had to be people of high standing. Was my theory wrong?

As soon as I began wondering, the coachman gave a subtle nod to the gatekeeper of the Lord's manor.

"So, she must be the lord's daughter?"

"No."

"She's not?"

"Not quite."

The way she spoke made it seem like there was some secret meaning. What could it be?

The carriage stopped.

...

When we entered the manor, a butler led us to what looked to be a reception room. We were pointed to two sofas lined up together.

I wasn't too nervous-being in the Moonlit world does things to you-but I tried to be on my best behavior to make first impressions.

"Please take a seat here."

While I plopped down on the sofa, Ghislaine silently drew away and stood to watch in the corner of the room. A good choice for surveillance.

"The Young Master should be returning shortly. Please wait here until he does."

The butler poured a drink that smelled like tea into an expensive-looking cup. He retreated to the entrance of the room shortly.

I sipped the drink and hummed slightly. Oh, wow. This definitely was expensive, alright. I'm not well-versed in teas, but I like them and often drank them instead of coffee in my past life. This was one of the best I had. Though comparing this to tea bags probably won't do it justice.

'I wonder what kind of kid this 'daughter' is?' As I continued my internal dialogue, I noticed the butler hadn't poured Ghislaine a cup. Makes sense. I am the guest, after all.

"Where is he?!" I almost spilled the tea on the expensive-looking carpet as a voice boomed through the manor. It sounded like when I conjured a storm, and thunder rang in the distance.

"In here?!" The voice thundered again.

The doors burst open violently. For a second, I thought the hinges were gonna break. A buff, muscular man entered the room. He looked about fifty. Despite the peppering of white in his dark-brown hair, he looked like a young man in the prime of his life.

I put the cup down, stood, and bowed deeply. "It's nice to meet you. My name is Rudeus Greyrat."

His nostrils flared. "Hmph, you don't even know how to introduce yourself."

"Master, Lord Rudeus has never been outside Buena Village. He's still young. I'm sure he has not yet had the time to learn proper manners. Surely you can-"

"And you! Shut up!"

That rebuke silenced the butler immediately.

This guy is the master of the house, so he was my employer. He found me lacking, so being angry isn't a surprise. But... I introduced myself as politely as I could! Damn, it! Was the etiquette of nobles different here or something?!

"Hmph. So I guess Paul didn't even see fit to teach his son manners!"

Okay. Calm down. The best thing to do is agree with this man and accept my shortcomings. Easy. Being a magus taught me when to bow my head low and when to get all defensive. This was one of those times where I'd have to be stepped on, huh?

"I apologize for my ignorance. But I've been told my father detests formality. I suspect that's why he didn't teach it to me. However, I should have known coming to a Lord's manor without learning proper etiquette would be insulting. I can only hope you forgive my blunder."

As I lowered my head, he stomped his foot so hard the floor creaked. "Hmph. It seems you take after your mother more than your father. Good. I never want to see that brat again. I will permit you to stay here!"

I wasn't sure what was going on. But at least I gained the Lord's...approval?

With that, the master of the house turned and strode out of the room, his shoulders stiff and firm.

"He is the Liege Lord of the Fittoa Region. Sauris Borea Greyrat. He is also Master Paule's uncle." The butler said.

Sorry if I sound ungrateful, but with his personality, I worry about how he rules. Then again, there were many adventurers in these parts, so maybe you needed such a...firey personality to lead them.

"He's my great uncle, then?"

"Yes."

Huh, so Paul used his connections with his family to get me a job. A distant one, but still family.

"What's going on, Thomas? You left the door wide open." Someone appeared in the doorway. A thin, lightweight man with sleek brown hair. "It seems Father is in a cheery mood. Did something happen?"

He called the Lord "Father," so he's Paul's cousin.

"This is the Young Master. Pardon me. Just a moment ago, the master met with Lord Rudeus. It seems he was pleased with him."

"Ah-ha. Perhaps I've chosen incorrectly?" He took a seat on the sofa across from me.

Right. Introductions, introcuctions.

"A pleasure to make your acquaintance. My name is Rudeus Greyrat." Just as I did a moment ago, I bowed deep and lowered my head.

"Ah, yes. I am Philip Boreas Grayrat. Nobles greet each other by putting their right hand on their chest and bowing their head slightly. You must have angered my father with that incorrect approach, yes?"

"Like this?" I followed his example.

"Yes, that's right. Although your attempt a moment ago wasn't half bad. It was still polite. My father would be pleased if a worker greeted him like that. Now, please sit." He flounced back upon the sofa with a loud thud.

I followed his example.

"How much have you heard?"

"I was told that if I spent five years here teaching the Young Mistress, I would be given enough money to cover the tuition costs for attending the University of Magic."

"Is that all?"

"Yes."

"I see." His two fingers seemed to pinch his chin as he looked down at the table. It was as if he was pondering some big secret. I was honestly a little nervous. He's probably gonna ask some questions that decide whether I'd get the job. "Do you like girls?"

I almost spit my tea out. Seriously?! That was the all-important query he had to think thirty seconds for?! No matter. I'll answer honestly and to the best of my ability.

"That I inherited from my father." 'And my previous life.' "But I try to be mindful and respect their wishes." 'Though it often ends with a fireball in my face.'

"Oh? Really?" He swished the wine around in his glass. "Then you pass."

Wait, what?! Wasn't that a bit too quick?

"Right now, the only people the girl likes are Edna, her etiquette tutor, and Ghislaine, her sword trainer. I have already dismissed more than five people. Among those was a man who taught in the imperial city." I'm guessing he's implying just because someone taught in the imperial city didn't mean they were good at it...

Though, I have to ask. "How is that relevant to whether I like girls or not?"

"It's not. Paul was the type who'd do anything for a cute girl. So I figured you were probably the same."

I shrugged. Hey, the man wasn't wrong there. I'm doing this for Sylphie. "You've got me there. I'm doing this for my girlfriend." Sylphie wasn't my girlfriend officially, but we were infinitely close.

"Oh, I guess you really are Paul's son." He seemed to be reminiscing about something. "To think you'd get a partner so early in life, and one that wasn't chosen for you by another."

Yeah! I gotta make up for my previous life full of loneliness!

"I'll be honest. I don't expect much from you. I figured that since you're Paul's son, I may as well give you a shot."

"That was honest." Too honest! Couldn't you have spared the feelings of such a cute-looking and innocent child?! Though I'm far from naive, I'm still cute, damn it!

"What, you mean you're confident you can do it?"

"Perhaps, but I'll have to see her for myself."

I'm not even gonna imagine Paul's mocking laughter if I failed. I'm a magus. I will not tolerate any jabs at my pride unless I incur it myself.

"I have a few tricks to try." The lessons from my various tutors and masters from the Clocktower would come in handy for this one.

"A trick? What do you mean?"

Hm... Since the girl is kinda dependent on violence, judging from what Ghislaine and Phillip told me, beating her up with magecraft won't do anything. Perhaps it's better to show her. Actions speak louder than words, after all.

"We'll have someone kidnap us while I'm with the Young Mistress. Then I'll use all my skills to get us back safely."

Philip stared blankly for a moment, but realization dawned, and he nodded. "In other words, you're trying to get her to study of her own free will. Interesting. But are you sure this will work?"

"Well, it's better than adults forcing her into it." I don't know all the phycological crap behind it, but its effects are surprisingly prominent.

"Is this something Paul taught you? Is that how your girlfriend fell for you at such a young age."

"No. You'd be surprised how far good old affection can bring you. Also, Paul always seems to have girls swarming to him for some god-unknown reason."

"Pfft." Philip burst into laughter. "That's right. He's always been popular. He doesn't have to do anything, and the girls come to him automatically."

"Every person he's introduced me to has been his Mistress. Even Ghislain."

Phillip nodded. 'Yes, I'm incredibly envious of him." He looked at me. "Since you have his looks, I'm worried you'll seduce my daughter."

"You realize I already have a girlfriend?"

"In Paul's letter about you, he said he sent you away because you spent too much time messing around with your unofficial elven spouse. I thought it was a joke, but I'm starting to see Paul wasn't joking."

Wait, how'd he know Sylphie was part-elf? I guess there were no secrets about my time in Buena Village. "That's because the only girl I know is Sylphie." Who I wanted the best for and was intentionally spoiling rotten. Also, it was none of Paul's business.

"Well, we won't make any progress by talking. Meet my daughter first. Then we'll talk."

And so, I finally met her.

...

Arrogant. That was my first thought when I saw the girl. She was two years older than me. Her ruby-like eyes shone with the glint of a predator hunting its prey. Her wavy hair was such a pure shade of crimson it looked like someone threw a bucket of paint on her.

I had no doubt she'd be a beauty one day, but most men would find her too much to handle. Maybe if you were a masochist...

Either way, she was a dangerous one. My instincts screamed warnings as I got close to her.

But I couldn't just run away. So I greeted the Mistress just as Philip had instructed me. 'It's a pleasure to meet you. I'm Rudeus Greyrat."

"Hmph!" She glanced at me, and her nostrils flared like her grandfather's. She crossed her arms firmly over her chest as she glared at me. Her expression turned sour as she complained. "What's this? He's younger than I am! And he's supposed to teach me? Stop joking around!"

Yep. This girl was prideful, alright! But I couldn't back down, could I? "I don't think age has anything to do with it," I said.

"Oh yeah?!" Do you have sort of problem with me?!" Her voice was so loud my ears rang.

"What I'm saying, Miss, is that there are things I can do that you can't."

The moment I said that, her hair stood straight up. It was as if her anger was physically manifesting. Considering this world had Battle Auras, that probably wasn't too far-fetched.

All that aside, it was terrifying!

'Why the hell am I afraid of a girl who's not even ten?!'

"Certainly full of yourself, aren't you? Just who do you think I am?!"

I tamped my fear down. "You're my second cousin, right?"

"Second...? What the heck is that?"

"It means my father is the cousin of your father. You're the granddaughter of my great uncle."

"What are you on about?! I don't understand!"

Okay, maybe that was a bit too complicated. "It means we're family. Understand?" Telling her we're related is the most straightforward approach. "You have heard of Paul, right?"

"Of course not!"

"Alright, I see." That was unexpected. She didn't seem to care that we were related at all! One thing's clear. I have to get her talking. Communication is the best way to build a relationship.

Just as I thought that she lifted her hand and slapped me.

"Huh...?" It was so abrupt that I was left a little confused. "What did you hit me?"

"Because you're acting so full of yourself even though you're younger than me!"

"So that's it." My cheek was still hot. That hurt, damn it! "All right, then I'll return the gesture."

'What?!"

I didn't wait for her response. I slapped her back. It wasn't loud, considering I didn't put much force into it. That's fine, though. At least she felt a bit of pain. "Now do you understand-"

"How it feels to be slapped" was what I wanted to say. But I suddenly had a peculiar image of a meteor clapping me on the cheek. On instinct, I activated Time Alter. "Triple accel!"

I managed to evade her just as a fist punched the air where I had been a moment ago. A few milliseconds slower, and I would have been tofu.

The Mistress's hair stood up as she drew back her fist. It was the exact pose as a Nio statue. "Who do you think you just raised a hand against?! I'll make you regret that!"

Her punches were as plentiful as shooting stars when I summoned a meteor shower. Luckily, she was sloppy due to her anger, and I had experience fighting enforcers. Have you ever blocked a Black Key with a box of tissues?

Time Alter: Triple Excel made me fast enough to avoid her, but it was getting painful. Casting spells took a millisecond too long, so...

My eyes turned into the shade of my mother's eyes. The Rune "Isa" did a single unnoticeable orbit around me before vanishing. Ice crept up the Young Mistress's legs when she wasn't noticing. And, before long, she couldn't move her feet.

I stopped using Time Alter. Although I straightened out the spell, it still hurt! Breathing a sigh of relief, I turned to look at the girl.

I was met with the sound of grinding teeth and cracking ice. "...You're not going to get away with that."

Great. The Mistress figured out that I was the one who froze her. And the cherry on top was that the ice was cracking with each passing second.

Remember when I said I have my pride? Well, I'm feeding that to the dogs. I turned my heel and ran. I could have beaten her up with magic, but I doubt it would make her listen to me. She'd bide time to recover and then ambush me when I slept or something like that. And I could tell the strength of someone's resolve, and believe me when I say this, she's not gonna give up.

The Mistress finally broke free from the icy chains that bound her and began her pursuit. Luckily, I had already gained a fair distance, so I used that chance and teleported to the roof.

...

Exhausted from her pursuit, the Young Mistress eventually gave up and returned to her room. She didn't find me. Otherwise, I would be a pancake on the floor. But you have no idea how close it was.

I felt numb on the roof. I knew the girl couldn't get to me there, so why was I still this scared?! It felt like I was the main character of a horror movie.

Utterly exhausted, I returned to Philip, who was waiting for me with a bitter smile.

"So, how'd it go?"

"It didn't 'go' at all," I answered.

"Well, going to give up then?"

"No, I'm not." How could I? I hadn't accomplished anything. Besides, the Lord of Modern Magecraft said I have an eye for talent. I guess my Origin played a part in that. "I see a rare ember in her. If I can mold and make it grow and burn in the right direction... So, I want your cooperation in what we talked about before." I bowed my head to him, sharp and low.

"Alright. Thomas, make the preparations." Right on cue, the butler took his leave. "You really have some interesting ideas."

"You think so? I think they're pretty normal."

"Hehe. I guess that's what you expect from a kid who can control not one but two demon eyes from the age of five." Ha... I guess there weren't any secrets between Paul and his cousin, huh? "You're the only teacher to have come to me with such an ambitious plan."

"I think it will be effective, though." With her personality, I have a right to be nervous.

Philip shrugged. "Depends on how hard you work."

"I smirked. "Naturally."

And so, we began our plan.

...

I entered the room they gave me. It was exquisitely furnished. It had a large bed and other heavily decorated furniture. There were beautiful curtains and a brand-new bookcase. I could put some of my...less suspicious books in this one. I was going to buy a lot of books now that I was living in Roa.

"Ah~. Father of mine, this is one hell of a place. But I still miss my own house with Sylphie." When we were cuddled up in my Kotatsu, it gave off the feeling that we really were engaged. Well, it did to me. I have no idea if that was the feeling Sylphie got.

I sank into the bed and cradled my throbbing head. It hurt like a migraine ever since I woke up in that carriage with Ghislaine. Why couldn't Sylphie be here?! I miss her head pats-Ah. Now I see why my dear old dad decided to separate us.

I patted my pockets and realized in horror that the two relics weren't on my person.

I should probably explain what I mean.

When Sylphie fell asleep due to Mana Exhaustion a few days ago, I subtly snipped a lock of hair from her head. Using those threads and a few sticks, I weaved a tiny Dream Catcher I always kept on my person. My holy relic of my divine Faerie.

The other one was, of course, the panties I stole from Goddess Roxy.

I hung the Dream Catcher above my bed in my house. And I hid the panties in a place only Lilia knew. "I forgot to retrieve them, didn't I? Hahaha..." I laughed depressingly.

All of a sudden, I remembered the necklace Goddess Roxy gave me. I fumbled around and finally managed to grasp it in my hand. It seems not all light was lost in the world of mortals.

"My two Goddesses. Please, bless me."
