Time Alter is a Reality Marble.
If that's the case, why can't it manifest in the material world?

Once we escaped the storehouse, we were greeted by an unfamiliar town. It wasn't small enough to be a village, but not big enough to be a town. I had to think fast, or they were gonna find us. I could fly or teleport us back, but that would be too easy. I wanted the Young Mistress to learn her lesson.
"Hmph, this is far enough!" The Young Mistress declared loudly. She seemed to think we had already outrun her enemy.
"You promised you wouldn't shout until we got home?!"
"Hmph! Why do I have to keep any promises to you?" She said it as if it were the most obvious thing in the world.
This brat!
"Oh, really? Then this is where we part. Seeya." I unfurled my cloak.
"Hmph!" She flared her nostrils and began walking away, but then we heard distant, angry shouts.
"Those damn brats! Where the hell did they go?!"
How'd they bust down those iron pillars so easily?!
"...Eek!" The Young Mistress yelped and came back to me. "Th-that was a lie a second ago. I won't shout anymore. Now take me home!"
"I'm not your servant, nor am I your slave." I was mildly irritated. Only mildly. I definitely didn't have steam coming from my ears.
"Wh-what are you saying? You're my tutor, right?"
I scoffed. "Of course not."
"Huh?"
"You said you didn't like me, my Lady. So I wasn't hired."
"W-well, I'll hire you then." She said reluctantly.
I needed a real promise this time. "Again, with the empty promises. Once we return to the manor, you'll only break it like you did a second ago."
"I-I won't break my promise, so...I demand-no, I mean...help me."
"You can come with me as long as you listen to what I say."
"G-got it." She nodded meekly.
"Now, come with me, please."
We headed toward the town's entrance, away from the distant sound of angry shouting. A sleepy guard stood on duty. I took out my dimensional pocket pouch I always carried and handed him a copper coin. "If anyone asks if you've seen us, please tell them we left the city."
"Huh? What? Children? Okay, I guess. Are you guys playing hide and seek or what? This is a lot of money. Jeez, just what wealthy family are you two from...?"
"Please, just do as I say."
"Yeah, I got it." What a rude reply, but we couldn't linger.
I headed to the stagecoach's waiting area next. The fare and terms of use were written on the wall, but I already knew that. Instead, I was looking for the town's location.
"It looks like we're two cities away from Roa. In a town called Wieden." I whispered.
The Young Mistress kept her promise this time and replied quietly. "How can you tell?"
"It's written right here."
"I can't read."
"Being able to read is really beneficial. The way the stagecoach works is also written here."
I have to say, it's incredible they managed to bring us this far in a day.
As I was lost in thought, the sound of shouting drew close. "Shit! Where the hell are they hiding?! Get out here!"
I covered the Young Mistress's mouth swiftly and ducked into the bathroom. I reinforced the lock with Od as soon as I locked it. Outside came the clamor of heavy footsteps.
"Where the hell are they?!"
"Don't you dare think you got away from us!"
Whoa, scary.
"Dammit! They're not here!'
Luckily, their voices grew distant. We had a moment to relax, though it was too soon to let our guard down.
'A-are we okay?" The Young Mistress covered her own mouth after I removed my hand.
"Yeah, we're fine for the moment."
She seemed to sigh as her shoulders sagged.
"I was looking at the fare for the stagecoach, and it seemed we'll have to change coaches to get home.
"Change coaches?" She seemed puzzled.
"It means we'll have to say in another city for a night."
"No way... Oh-oh, I see. Hm." She was about to shout but held back at the last moment. That's some progress, at least. She was trembling as if she'd wet herself any minute.
"The bathroom's over there."
"I know!"
"All right. I'll go have a look outside."
When I tried to leave, she grabbed the end of my cloak.
"D-don't go." She muttered.
So I stayed with her before we went back outside.
It seemed like our two pursuers were gone, but I wasn't sure if they were still searching inside or outside the city. If we ran into them, I would have to overpower them with my magic.
When it was time to leave, I handed my money to the coachman, and we boarded.
...
We arrived in the neighboring city without any trouble.
For the night's stay, I chose a dilapidated-looking shack to teach the Young Mistress a lesson about how harsh the world could be. Our beds were made of straw.
The Young Mistress was so wired she couldn't sleep. Every time she heard a sound, she would startle and glare, frightened, at the room's entrance. When nothing was amiss, she'd breathe a sigh of relief.
She did this over and over.
Meanwhile, I was busily knawing on bread staler than sand and harder than bedrock. Hey, had to regain the energy my brain used up overnight somehow.
The following morning, we hopped on the first stagecoach to Roa. The Young Mistress must not have slept much because her eyes were bloodshot. And yet, she didn't seem the least bit tired. Oh, well. The wonders of adrenalin and its effects. She kept glancing out the back of the stagecoach, checking for possible pursuers.
Single riders on horseback passed us several times, but none were our kidnappers.
"Oh, dear. That isn't a good sign." The winds were blowing in specific patterns I was taught to recognize.
"What?" The Young Mistress asked.
"There's a rainstorm coming." I'd say in around five hours.
"You can tell?"
"Of course."
"Will you teach me if you become my tutor?"
"That is guaranteed."
"Oh..." The Young Mistress fell silent, pondering something.
The recent calmness made me think our kidnappers had given up. Oh, how naive I was!
Hours passed. We arrived in Roa without any problems. Once we passed through those sturdy walls and saw the liege lord's manor, a sense of security settled in. Unconsciously, I let my guard down, thinking we were safe.
We disembarked and headed toward the manor on foot. Our steps felt light. After riding in a stagecoach for hours, not to mention sleeping on hay for the first time, I was exhausted.
Then, as if they'd been waiting for that perfect moment, two men grabbed the Young Mistress and pulled her into a back alleyway.
"What?!" I let my guard down for only two seconds. But that was all the time the kidnappers needed to snatch her away. I glimpsed clothing that matched what the Young Mistress was wearing out of the corner of my eyes.
I pursued them immediately. When I darted into the alleyway, I caught sight of the two men. One of them was carrying the Young Mistress. They were trying to make their escape.
That wasn't an issue, however. With a simple wave of my hand, chains rose from the ground and formed an impenetrable wall.
The kidnappers' pathway was cut off so suddenly that they couldn't stop.
"What the?!"
"Nggh!" The Young Mistress bit down on her gag, tears in her eyes.
My eyes widened as I realized they gagged her in only seconds. They must be well-practiced.
"Don't bother." I tried to sound as cool as possible. "Those chains have hundreds of magic circles on them. Even one of the Seven Great Powers will have trouble breaking them."
During experimentation, I realized why this spell was so carefully hidden.
"Chains of Heaven," a God-Ranked mystic that-in its most effective state-could bind a literal divine deity. When someone casts it, they subconsciously engrave countless Runes and Magic Circles onto each chain link, making it virtually indestructible. This was probably why the "God of Evil" killed the druids-only they had the power to destroy him.
With the knowledge I gained from listening to the song of the God of Creation, I realized this spell's Thaumaturgical Foundation was nigh identical to the rings of light the Celestials wanted me to build.
I'm getting off track. Simply put, these chains were way out of the kidnappers' league.
"Aha, so it's the other brat. You know you could have gone home safely if you kept your nose out of this." Despite being caught off guard by the chains, they grinned when they realized I was their opponent.
The violent one came toward me, his guard down. Did they forget I summoned steel chains? It wasn't easy for mages to transmute iron from dirt! Oh, well. Better for me, I suppose.
"Gandr." A small sphere of black energy formed in front of my index finger. It hit the man with a sound not dissimilar to a raindrop.
The violent man immediately dropped his sword, his whole body trembling. He struggled to stand as he had to support himself on the alley's wall.
I silently whistled to myself. Wow. That was my first time using a curse in this world, were the effects that much more potent with this world's Mana?
"Y-you damn brat." The violent man fell to the floor. The other man immediately put up his guard and leveled his sword's tip against the Young Mistress's neck. "W-what d-d-d-did you do to m-me?!"
"A simple curse. I doubt you'll have heard of it, but it's called 'Gandr.'"
"Curse? You..." The other man started backing up. "Y-you're a demon, aren't you?! No wonder you were so calm! Looks like you're this one's bodyguard, huh?"
"I'm not a bodyguard. I haven't been hired yet." I was telling the truth. Also, I wasn't a demon!
"What? Then why the hell are you getting in our way?!"
"Well, they plan to pay me after this. So..." I trailed off.
"Huh, so you're after money?"
After money? Not by a fucking long shot! My storehouse of gold and gems is enough for me to live a comfortable life without working a day! But better keep up this "poor peasant" act. "I won't confirm nor deny that."
As soon as I said that, the corners of his lips curved up. "Then you should join us. I have connections with a perverted noble that will pay a high price for a young girl from a noble family. I hear the liege lord dotes on his granddaughter, so we should also hold her for ransom. Either way, we'd get a ton of money."
I had to keep pretending. Stall for time and think of a way to beat these idiots. Or, better yet, wait for Ghislaine. She must have realized something was wrong by now. "Oho." The Young Mistress turned to look at me, her face pale. "And how much money would that be?"
"This isn't some piddling one-or-two-gold-coins-a-month job we're talking about." He continued with a self-satisfied smirk. "It's gotta be a hundred at least!"
This guy was bragging. It's like some brat from my past life pointed to some limited anime merch and said, "It's like a million yen! Can you believe it?!"
"What about you? You look like a kid, but I bet you're much older than you look."
"Why do you think that?"
"That magic you've used and how calm you're acting? It's obvious. I heard of demons who remain young all throughout their lives. I bet you've been given a hard time thanks to your appearance, right? So you understand how sweet of a deal this is."
"I see..."
So that's what I look like to other people? Well, I am already over fifty, so he's kinda right.
"You're right. After living as long as I have, you get a good sense of the importance of money."
"Heh, yeah. You get us, right?"
"Of course, but there are two tiny holes in your plan."
"Don't start spitting pretty words at us!"
"Have you ever met that girl's grandfather? I have, and let me tell you. You don't wanna make an enemy out of him."
"I don't give a crap about that!" The man clearly didn't understand how terrifying Sauros could be.
"Secondly, I'm here."
"Wha-?!"
A firework exploded in the air.
"Whoa?!"
"Ngh?!"
The bang was thunderous enough to split eardrums. The light and heat were also intense.
As everyone looked at the sky, I raced forward. Closing the distance in a fraction of a second using Time Alter. The other bandit didn't even realize what happened before the Young Mistress was safely in my arms.
"Tch!" The sword came down a moment too late, narrowly missing my face. It did slice off a decent portion of the Young Mistress's hair.
That was close.
Luckily, he wasn't nearly as fast as Paul, though he didn't give me enough time to use teleportation. No need to panic. You've done drills like this hundreds of times with Paul. I'll get out alive if I don't mess up big time.
My cloak unfolded as I rose into the air. I hurriedly prepared my next magical attack. I would have preferred to use "Pyriphlegethon." It was a decent way to get all the enemies at once. But that would cause too much collateral damage. Instead, I condensed the spell into droplets and shot them toward the man.
'Ha! Good luck cutting those! They're as small as raindrops!'
He cut through every single one. Of course, he did. When have things ever gone my way before? Sigh~.
"Is that all you've got?!"
I used water and earth magic to turn the ground beneath him into a swirling mass of mud. Before he could recover, I sent another dozen fire...droplets?...at him. This time, they hit their marks. He fell to the ground and passed out.
Yes! I won! Now, with the Young Mistress in my arms, all I had to do was disappear into the confusion of the crowds! Or, I could act like a scared little kid and ask an adult to protect us. I'm a great actor.
Just as I thought that...
"You're not getting away!"
It was the violent man. Since he was weakened, I didn't bother monitoring him. That was my mistake. He seemed to have recovered some from the curse. He threw his sword at us.
That wasn't an act of desperation. The North God Style of swordplay has sword-throwing techniques. I guess I figured out what kind of fighting style this guy's using. Though that won't save me from impending doom!
The blade flew toward me at a tremendous speed, but I watched it as if in slow motion. It was aimed right at my head.
Rain began to fall. It went into my eyes, so I definitely wasn't crying about how I'll die!
My mother once told me, "To see your life flash before your eyes is your body's desperate attempt to find something to save you in your memories."

My spell, Time Alter, was worked on by three geniuses. Its true nature was an artificial Reality Marble created by my grandfather. My father continued to stabilize it, so it wouldn't destroy a magi's body the instant it activated. Me, on the other hand... I only smoothed out the wrinkles. Compared to my predecessors, it isn't anything to be proud of.
Much information was forcefully stuffed into my brain when I regained my memories. They were what I needed to repair the Textures of this world. So, of course, I'd know how to manipulate the Texture of the Planet. In other words, I can change reality.
Even with a sword coming straight toward us, I only sighed at my stupidity. How on Earth did I not realize it sooner? I mean, the answer was right in front of me. Hah... Maybe that meeting with the Celestials expanded my mind more than I realized.

The world paused.
...
A Reality Marble was a taboo among taboos. Only the highest-ranking dead apostles and aliens could wield such a forbidden art. Yet, few as they are, in the long course of human history, a select few mortals managed to unlock this mystic of mystics.
My family broke so many rules. So many taboos I can't even count them on my hands anymore.
What was another broken law? Rules were meant to be broken, after all.
If Time Alter was a Reality Marble... Why couldn't it manifest in the real world?
...
It was as if an all-knowing god pressed the "stop" button on the universe.
There wasn't a single sound, not even the chirping of crickets which reminded me of the times I scared Sylphie by showing her the small insects. I got pounded by a few snowballs for that prank.
Raindrops were frozen in mid-air. They looked like a thousand diamonds glittering in the light of dawn. Yet they lacked something, and that took away their true beauty.
The world was bleached. Everything was a shade of black, white, and grey. It was like one of those old movies from my world. I looked in a drop of rain and noticed the only hints of color were my eyes, which glowed a vibrant gold.
Monolithic clocks made from splintering wood and rusting gold ticked away with creeks and moans. Their appearance proved their age, as gold couldn't rust even after an eternity.
Chains, each longer than the entirety of the Red Wyrm Mountain Ranges, held the clocks to black storm clouds that hovered in the grey sky.
I lazily glanced at the sword hovering inches in front of my face. Time bent to my will here, so there was no need to rush. Swiftly, I grabbed the sword and pushed it far away from us using wind magic. Inertia wasn't a factor in my Marble, so I had to keep nudging it to the desired distance. With that, I released my hold on the sword, and time-for the sword, anyway-resumed. I absentmindedly noticed a clock started spinning faster than usual. The sword clattered to the ground harmlessly.
The rest of the world was still frozen, however.
I looked at the kidnappers, making a decision. I wouldn't kill them, but I will knock them out.
Two clocks began spinning faster than the rest, and their heads could move again.
"Huh?"
"Wha?!"
"Hey! Why can't... Why can't I feel my body?!"
"What's going on with everything?! Why's it all black and white?!"
"Finally awake, I see." I floated down and landed with an inaudible thud. "You should be honored. A god, like me, descending from my spot in the heavens to personally deal with you mortals." Huh, guess knowing that I'm worshipped as a god in that remote village of mages did wonders for my self-confidence.
I wasn't an actual god, obviously. It'll be a real mess if they figure that out. But it sure is fun messing around.
"You brat! What did you do?!"
I pretended to sigh in an unamused way. On the inside, however, I was laughing my butts off. "Look around, mortal. Can't you figure it out? I paused time. Simple as that. Even your pathetic little brains can understand that, yes?"
As soon as the two men heard that, they began trembling.
"S-stop lying! You little shit! As soon as I get out of this-."
"You'll die."
"Wha?!"
"As soon as you get out of this, you'll die. It's the cold hard truth. Deal with it." I lied through my teeth. Sure. The time difference between their heads and bodies will cause plenty of pain, but it shouldn't kill them... I think... Probably.
"The looks on your pathetic mortal faces tell me you don't know what I'm talking about," I smirked evilly. "I'm a merciful god, so I'll grant you the honor of knowing how I kill you."
I pointed at the clocks hanging in the sky. "Those clocks represent the time of every object within my domain. And those." I waved at two clocks spinning faster than the rest, "Represent you two." I turned back to the two bandits. "Currently, only your head is unfrozen, while the rest of your bodies are still in Chronostasis. Right now, you're alive, thanks to my magic. But as soon as I release you two from my domain, the temporal differences between your head and the rest of your bodies will be too much for you mortals to handle. As a result, your bodies will tear themselves apart. Causing your inevitable and unbearably painful death."
The two men looked at me like monkeys learning calculus. Clearly, they didn't understand a thing. But they did understand their death would not be painless if I had my way with them.
I didn't bother looking at the priceless expressions on the kidnapper's faces-I really wanted to-and flew back to where the Young Mistress still hovered in the air, frozen in time. I secured her in my arms bridal style before turning to the bandits.
"Now, enough chit-chat. I hope your souls reach hell."
Color returned, and the world resumed.
I grimaced at the two fully grown men spasming on the ground. Their faces had turned purple, and their limbs were flailing about every which way. Blood flowed from their noses as they lost consciousness and sagged against the ground. I did my best to tone out their screams of agony.
"H-huh?"
Ah, it seems the Young Mistress finally came to her senses.
"W-what happened? You were behind me, but now you're..."
I set her down on the ground gently. "Don't worry about it. What's more important. Our captors are subdued, so we're finally safe."
As I said that, someone jumped behind me. With my eyes, I'd long since seen them coming, but it was still a surprise they arrived so quickly.
Ghislaine Dedoldia looked at the two men lying in pools of their own blood. "Hm... Rudeus, were those two our only enemies?"
"Yes, Miss Ghislaine."
"Drop the 'Miss.' Call me Ghislaine." She looked back and nodded. "I saw a sudden explosion in the sky, so I came to check things out. But I suppose that was unnecessary."
"Oh, I only managed to scrape by, though." I rubbed my head, trying to hide I was telling the biggest lie of the century.
"Was that your first time in a life-or-death battle?"
"I-I guess so." No, it wasn't.
"Then let me tell you. Those kinds of people don't give up until one side's dead. Be careful next time."
"Let's go home..."
I've had enough excitement for one day. Not to mention! I'm fricking starving!
...
"Phew..."
When we finally reached the manor, the Young Mistress sank to the ground, completely exhausted. Her legs gave out when the adrenaline left her body.
The maids anxiously swarmed around her. Ghislaine looked like she wanted to help, too. But she couldn't do much with the captured thieves on her shoulders. But the Young Miss merely batted their hands away and stood on trembling legs.
Her pose was imposing, and her arms were crossed over her chest. Wow. When I said something about seeing an ember in her, even I didn't expect it to be this strong."
The Young Mistress thrust her finger at me and bellowed. "I kept my promise, and now we're home! So I can talk now, right?!"
"Hmm? Of course, my Lady." With how loud her voice was, I'm guessing my plan failed. Hah... What a disappointing end. I'll have to return to Buena Village with my tail tucked between my legs and beg Paul for another-.
"I will grant you the special privilege of calling me by my name, Eris!"
Her words took me by surprise. "Huh?"
So, that meant... I passed?! That I could work here?! 'Thank you! Mistress Eris!"
"Drop the Mistress! Just call me Eris!" She was imitating Ghislaine. As soon as she finished, she collapsed.
That was how I became the tutor for Eris Boreas Greyrat.
But, before anything else.
*Blargh!?*
"Master Rudeus?!" The maids swarmed me as well.
Heh... Using my Reality Marble was not without consequences, it seems. I managed to put up a brave act, but god! It was so painful! My chest was on fire the entirety of the way home!
Well, whatever. Everything's fine now. I'll go visit Sylphie a week later. As for Eris...
Maybe I'll make her my second wife?

So, what'd yall think? This concludes the kidnapping arc of Fūin Shitei Tensei, Sealing Designate Reincarnation VO. 2. What do you all think of the Reality Marble Rudeus gained? Did I get anything wrong? Tell me in the comments.
And if you think he's OP now, wait until VO.3! I won't give any spoilers to the storyline, but it's gonna go bonkers.
For VO.2, I'll have him experiment with Reality Marbles and Homunculi bodies. He's gonna need them if he wants to say out of Hitogami's sight.
Anyways, Please like, share, follow, and comment.
As always, good luck with your game of life.
