UNSC Spirit of Fire, a Phoenix Class Colony ship refitted into a support ship, claimed as Lost With All Hands. Basically confirmed Destroyed was floating far away from UNSC Space, trailing behind it was a single Forerunner Dreadnought. All personnel aboard the ship had been placed into Cryostasis after they had lost their Slipspace drive when they used it to destroy the Shield World trove.
The ship floated lazily through space, when suddenly a portal opened in front of the two ships sending them into a different universe all together.
Captain James G Cutter, a 50 year old man with white hair and blue hair, Captain of the Spirit of fire woke up with a start. He looked around and pushed himself from the Cryopod, "Status."
The AI of his ship, Serina, spoke up, "Captain, I regret to inform you we are in Unknown space, far from Human or even Covenant space."
James scowled, "Any Good news?"
"Habitable planet nearby likely containing a sentient species, visible signs of city structures."
Cutter sighed, "At least we have something, take us in."
"Into the Planet, or?"
"Orbit, the planet after our crew does an external check on the hull."
"Yes sir, I will have the new Sergeant arrive."
The Youngest Marine to date, newly dubbed, Sergeant Nicholas Young, he was only 16 years old but he was by far the closest to a Spartan. He got out of his Stasis pod after years of sleep, he groaned and looked around. The Pods still had most of their people slumbering, it seems he was released early.
Stretching slightly he grabbed his MA5B Assault rifle and put it on his back where it mag locked and grabbed the M6 magnum and slipped it into his holster. He checked over his body, 'Yep, my Armor looks good.'
He began his walk to the Ship's bridge.

Captain James Cutter stared down at the planet from the Bridge of the ship, "Is the data I received correct, Serina?"
"Yes sir, the data is correct, there are Humans on that planet."
"Away from the Milky Way galaxy, hm, well we have a new mission."
"Protect them, yes?" Captain Cutter nods in agreement with his AI, "All right, Sergeant Young is right outside, should I send him in?"
"Yes, I need to promote him."
Sergeant Young walks into the room as the door opens, "Yes Captain?"
"Sergeant you may be aware that Forge is now deceased," Young nods, "That means we need a new ground unit, that will be you."
"Understood sir, I will not let you down."
"Your first operation will be to explore our captured Forerunner Dreadnought, I will be honest with you Sergeant."
Sergeant Young looks at Cutter with a small frown, he never heard his Captains voice sound so… desperate.
"We are in Unknown space, likely billions of light years from the Milky Way Galaxy, to make matters worse we lack a large portion of our standard force with 50% of her ground forces she started with, to be blunt we don't have the equipment or personnel for a long standing conflict especially since there will never be any backup."
Serina sighs and looks over to Sergeant Young, "That is why we want you to investigate the ship we have been dragging, we need a ship to help give the Spirit of Fire aid in a ship to ship conflict."
"Understood, who should I have with me?"
"Red Team."
Sergeant Young nods before quickly leaving.
"Captain, are you all right?" Serina looks to her Captain when Sergeant Young finally leaves. James only sighs in disappointment, "... No, not really, we will never return to the Milky Way. I won't see my kids or wife again, but that is a mute point, they probably already think I died."
"Captain-"
"It's alright, okay? Just let me collect my thoughts, keep everyone in Cryosleep, even Anders."
"Yes sir." The AI Flickered away leaving Cutter alone to stare at the planet below him.
"I won't give up my second chance." He grumbled.
Sergeant Young arrives at the hangar with the Red team, and a single Condor, the Pilot looks no worse for wear. He boarded the Condor along Spartan 2 Red Team. "Our mission Sergeant?"
"Simple, secure and explore Forerunner Dreadnought, main objective reach the Bridge of the vessel and establish control with the Spirit of Fire."
The Back hatch closes tight and the Large pelican begins its flight towards the derelict Dreadnought ship, Sergeant Young sighs and stares at the wall in front of him. "Entry point found, going in." The Pilot yells out as he pulls into the Hangar of the Forerunner ship, The Hangar was not pressurized and was basically open space. "Sergeant, is your Space suit functional?"
Nicholas Young checked his suit over and nodded, "Yes Sir."
"Okay, opening the hatch and sealing Cockpit door." The once pressurized room depressurized before the door opened.
Sergeant Young checks his suit once more, finding nothing wrong, "Move out."
They all exit the pelican and scan the Hangar, Sergeant Young finds a small forerunner terminal, he quickly walks to it and initiates the Automatic Pressurization system. The Hangar shield activates as the pressurized environment deactivates Young's Life support systems.
"We are in." He grunts out, "Pilot, wait for us here."
"Rodger."
Sergeant Young and Spartan 2 Red Team, all enter the Dreadnought from one of the only doors that lead to here. "Anything Spartans?"
"Negative sir."
"Understood, keep us safe guys."
Young's eyes darted around to find any threats, finding nothing but a pure white sterile ship, "It seems clear, let's make it to the bridge."
The Spartan Team nods, and follows after Sergeant Young.
Sergeant Young stops mid step as he looks up at a sign that looks alien but somehow he could read it. "Armory?"
The Four Spartans look at Young with confusion, "You can read that sir?" Jerome-092 asks.
"I think…" Young blinks as his comprehension fades, "Now I can't, how odd." He opens the Forerunner door and looks inside, his eyes widened, "Okay, that armor is awesome." The Spartans couldn't help but agree. The armor was sleek white with multiple orbs orbiting the suit, it looked sleek and compact, and it was calling to Nicholas Young.
He was about to touch it when Jerome stopped him, "Sir-" Jerome's voice snapped Young from his trance, "-we have a mission to do."
"Sorry Spartans, that armor, it was calling me to embrace it. Let's get out of here." They nod and watch as Young exits the room first. They quickly leave, also leaving the armor alone, which powers down.
The team manages to make it to the Bridge, no hostiles, Sergeant Young looks around as the Spartans scan the room. He spots an AI Pedestal with a slight glow above it, 'An AI?' He walks over to it and his body enters Auto Pilot, he could not gain control over his body.
His hands grab the AI chip, pulls it out and slams it into his empty AI Chip cybernetic implant. His widen as data fills his vision, then in the center of his vision the words 'Welcome General Warrior-Of-Eternal-Light otherwise known as Hero' appeared in bright colors. Sergeant Young couldn't help but blink. A voice filled his head, not his ears, directly into his brain. "Hello Sergeant Nicholas Young, I am Anicillia Morning Glory, please call me Glory."
"Eh, Spartans, I found an AI."
"Correct, I am an AI Or Anicillia, I have been placed under system shut down for … a very long period of time. Let's see now, oh you have the Genetic codes for Warrior of Eternal Light, one of the only leaders of the Forerunner that had the power to do… amazing things. Let's see if I can activate these codes."
"Wait, what?!" Nicholas Young could only pale as his vision started to fade at the edges, before it stopped. He looked around and realized he was now within the Spirit of Fire Medical facility. He blinked, how did he get here, last thing he remembered was the Forerunner Dreadnought, "What happened?" He groaned and sat up.
Jerome stood next to him, "That AI, she did something that caused you to pass out, we tried to remove the chip, that ended in a failure. We extracted you back into the ship, luckily the doctor said you were fine."
Nicholas Young rubbed his head as memories that were not his flooded his mind, "I… I know what she did." He closed his eyes in pain.
"What did she do?"
Nick opened his eyes and looked at Jerome, who took an instinctive step back, Nick's eyes were no longer dull blue, now red and silver. "She activated the Genetic template of a Forerunner I possessed. I feel stronger, but it's not complete, it will take time for the template to actually take effect."
Jerome shook his head, "Sorry Sergeant, but the effects have already started, see." He handed Nick a small mirror, one used by the doctors, Nick's eyes widened at seeing his own eyes. "I think you are already changing to become a Forerunner Human hybrid."
"Well, for some reason I don't seem to mind much. What did we discover?"
"Besides the fact that the ship is entirely yours and won't obey Humanity. Not much, we tried to access the ship but it refused Human control when it detected you are part Forerunner, that makes the ship yours."
"I understand, I will meet up with the Captain."
Captain Cutter sighed as he finally collected his thoughts, "All right, All Hands be advised we will be dropping a Forward Base Planet side shortly, Sergeant Nicholas Young I want you to lead the ground operations. Serina I want to wake Allen Anders, and send her into the Forerunner Dreadnought with part of the Red team."
"Yes sir."
James looked at the scan of the planet below them, "Obvious signs of pre-space civilization, no Space craft, weak air force, and likely a weak ground force. Make sure our forces are prepared for a subtle and quiet operation. From Serina's assessment we could easily take the entire planet over in less than a day."
"Not a good idea though, they would see us as tyrants-"
"I wasn't suggesting we should, I am just stating a fact about how weak and fragile their current Technology is. Serina sent down the firebases."
"Yes sir."

In the middle of Vale, a large barren forest, two Large Herons dropped off a Firebase that quickly built two supply pads, a Vehicle bay, and Barracks from the base's construction unit. A single pelican dropped from orbit and Sergeant Nicholas and Red Team all walked out the back, the pelican boosted back into orbit.
Four turrets appear around the Firebase, Nicholas and the Spartans all go to the Command room of the base.
The UNSC Spirit of Fire was currently being repaired by Forerunner drones from the Dreadnought, along with being retrofitted with some stored Shield Generators the Dreadnought possessed. And what was scary was that no one, not even Serina noticed new additions to the ship, not even when Turrets were established along the hull.
Ellen Anders had boarded the Forerunner ship along with the other half of Red Team, she went to study the Forerunner Armor Sergeant Nicholas Young was about to use. "This armor is quite impressive." She mumbles.
Sergeant Nicholas Young looked at the map they have of the planet, "A Large portion of the planet is entirely uninhabited, with only 4 out of 9 continents being inhabited and sparsely at that."
He grunted as he exclaimed the information, "What is making these people push into highly defended cities?" Suddenly an alarm blares causing Nick to grab his Assault rifle and rush outside. His eyes widened, 'I see why the People are grouping up.' His helmet cam recording what he is seeing, 12 large black Ravens that look about the size of a Falcon. The base turrets opened fire with their weaponry pushing the Ravens back.
Nick's mismatched eyes focused on the large black birds, "All Ground Forces attack with no mercy, Jerome, Alice, Douglas kill as many as you can." Nick braced his Assault rifle to his shoulder and opened fire on the birds. He looked over and smirked at spotted an unused Gauss Warthog, he ran over and jumped onto the gun. "This is going to be fun!" He pulled the trigger as the Gauss Cannon shot a large slug through the entire Raven splitting it in half. Unfinished he swerved the turret around and fired once again. Now down to 8 Large Ravens, his Spartan Team opened fire on the birds.
Nick didn't stop his onslaught until the turret ran out of charge, by this point there were only three remaining. "All Forces have good news, we have Air Support." As he finished 12 Pelicans dropped from the sky carrying 4 different types of vehicles, 4 XRP12 Gremlins, 2 M850 Grizzly tanks, 4 M9 Wolverines, and finally 2 SP42 Cobra. The Ravens quickly retreated at seeing such a powerful force and the 2 Cobra's went into Lockdown mode in the front of the base, their twin guns becoming a 105mm light Railgun. The Two Grizzly tanks flanked each side of the Base before turning their weapons away from the base ready for conflict. At each Corner of the Base the 4 Wolverines made their position.
The Gremlins were established as the rear defense network retrofitted with a 35mm railgun.
Sergeant Nicholas Young was happy to have such a heavily defended base under his command, He, along with all the Spartans sent their recording of the battle.
"Sergeant Young-" Serina's voice filled his headset, "-these things you have recorded are a grave threat to this planet's population. The Captain will give you a message soon."
"Thank you Serina."
"Yes Sergeant."
Captain Cutter's voice filled Nick's headset, "Sergeant Young, I want you to gain access and explore the nearby city, no armor, just weaponry."
Nick blinked, "Are you sure Captain, this could end badly for us-"
"I know the risk and so do you, but we need to establish communication with the people planet side, our communication array is too powerful to gain any kind of message from these radio waves."
"Yes sir."
"We have sent you a Tracking device. Please use it, this will allow us to extract you if the situation gets tough."
"Yes Sir." Suddenly a thought made Young question, "By chance I won't be in command of Firebase Alpha anymore?"
"Negative, you will be a field agent for the foreseeable future, we need to understand the situation we face."
"Yes sir."
Meanwhile just outside the Systems borders a single CCS-class Battlecruiser painted red appeared within the system. The Ship Commander, Ras' 'Vadum, scowled as his ship's pilot walked into the room with a small frown. "What is the issue?"
"We are within unknown space via slipspace anomaly, a single Human Cruiser is within the system near a planet that is entirely radio silent."
"The Covenant," He spat out those words as if they were venom, "Must have found the planet and glassed it, we will contact the Human vessel and give them our aid."
"Sir if I may, humans are quite mistrustful of our kind and our ship is the only one we have, if we are destroyed we cannot bring honor back to our people."
"Honor? We lost our honor, all we can do now is bring faith back into our species, as for our ship, we deserted the Covenant because none of us wanted anything to do with their pathetic war. This is our only ship, yes, but it is also all of our homes, but if humans want justice for what our kind has done to them we will not stop them. We will only ask that the innocent on board will be safe from death."
The pilot nods numbly, "Yes sir."
"Full speed ahead, I will contact the Human ship shortly."
Nicholas Young had left the sanctity of Firebase Alpha and made his way towards the City of Vale, he had his Magnum in his holster and his Standard Assault rifle attached to the Magnetic holster he wore. He wore his standard issue Military Dress Uniform, he gained a few odd stares but nothing outlandish. His AI Unit Morning Glory chirped up in his head, "Ah, Warrior of Eternal Light, sorry General Hero, I have some news for you!"
'Go ahead Morning Glory.'
"Your Genetic template is now half way finished, you will be half Forerunner in no time. Also I have managed to hack into this planet's very rudimentary social internet, I have sent my findings back to our vessel, Speaking of what should we name it?"
'Bringer of Light, that sounds fitting'
"Good Name Hero, where are we exactly?"
'Planet side, inside the City of Vale.'
His eyes looked over and his mismatched eyes caught a dust store, 'Hm, Morning Glory can we take samples?'
"Confirmed."
'Good.' He walked into the dust store and began to scan the supply they had, He looked over at the currency and frowned. 'Have an entirely different currency system, Morning Glory can allow my Datapad to convert my current supply of credits to lien, and make the system we have work with theirs?'
"Negative, no field available, in the future it will be possible."
'Crap,' He turned around and was able to leave when the door and windows burst open with multiple thugs. Thinking quickly Nick jumped into cover behind a wall, he pulled out his Magnum,
The thugs all shouted at the store owner, confused on what his actions should be he frowned. 'Defend civilians and risk death, or lose a part of my soul by letting innocent people become victims like I was.' Truthfully he didn't have an option, he only had one choice, 'Fuck it.' He jumped out of cover just as a red hooded teenager, maybe a year younger than him, seemed to realize what was going on. He pulled the trigger of his gun just as the barrel pointed between the eyes of one of the thugs. The gun roared and kicked as the slug pierced the energy barrier that the thug had, his head didn't pose any deterrence as he slumped back dead on the spot.
Moving with his almost in-human-like speed he crossed the distance between him and one of the thugs in a second, he spun out his combat knife and stabbed the blade through the man's jugular. His right eye, the silver one, pulsed as his speed doubled, he zig zagged towards the final thug in his way. The final thug was a female and he jumped and slashed her across her left eye before spinning and stabbed her heart through her sternum.
He stood up and frowned, he whipped the blood from the blade and looked over to the hooded teen. Only to find her body slamming into his own and the two crashing out a nearby window, Thinking quickly he grabbed the window seal severely cutting his hand and flipping mid air. He grabbed the girl around the waist and skidded on the ground, he pulled out his pistol and scowled as he didn't see a threat. "What the he-" He barely managed to jump out of the way as the ground where he stood previously exploded. His pistol barked twice as the two slugs punched through the Barriers and still missed!
"Fuck!" His single red eye began to glow as time slowed down in his vision, with this his mind was able to formulate a strategy, 'I cannot fight within my arms' "Wake up!"
Two silver eyes shot open and she thrashed about for a moment, "Calm down and help me fight these bastards!"
She nodded as Nick let her go.
He opened fire with his Magnum until he finally ran out of ammo, while the teenager was using less lethal, that made him concerned. 'Maybe I should have used my Baton.'
Shaking his head he continued on his assault, the silver eyed girl had pushed the enemy back and Nick stood next to her with his Magnum smoking.
"Are we finally done?"
The Silver eyed girl nodded, shen looked at him with a small frown, "You didn't have to kill so many of them."
"I'm a trained soldier, killing is something we do, but that doesn't mean I enjoy or like it." He watched the VTOL craft the thugs used to escape slowly vanish over the horizon. "Though I will try harder not to kill in the future if it pleases you." He shrugged.
"You two! What have you done, your actions have consequences young sir!" Nick looked over to a blonde haired middle, he just shrugged. "We are going to the police station at this very moment."
Meanwhile in orbit Captain Cutter had sent Serina to search through one of the most important and controversial companies on Remnant, the SDC; he was rather curious about this Dust material. He stared down at the planet below him as Allen Anders walked into the Observation deck. "You do know this is my lab, right?"
Captain Cutter smiles and looks at her, "On my ship." He chuckled slightly before looking back at the planet, "I doubt we will ever return home, what do you think?"
"The Forerunner Dreadnought will be our chance to escape and I doubt it will be able to withstand a long distance space jump. From Serina's estimation we are within the Triangulum Galaxy."
"Captain Come quick we have a message from a confirmed Covenant ship in our sector!" His ensigns voice reached his ears and his eyes bulged.
He sprinted towards his elevator and rose to his bridge. When he arrived it was pure chaos, "Status!"
His Communications ensign spoke up, "A message from a Covenant CCS Class Battlecruiser, the ship has not made any hostile movements and their weapons are cold."
"Send it through." Cutter's nervous reply, for good reason his ship was not made for Ship to ship conflicts, for long duration battles his ship would ultimately be defeated.
The face of the red armored Elite appeared on one of his Communication screens, "Human, we have come to assist, we are part of the Covenant Separatist Faction, a force that split from the disgusting ways of the Covenant. We have come to aid you in case the Covenant shows, and if needed extract what we assumed was a glassed planet." Captain Cutter along with his crew was surprised by the sheer amount of hate he used when saying the Covenants name, it made him honestly consider that this Separatist Faction may possibly be allies.
"How do we know you speak the truth?"
The Elite thought for a moment, when suddenly the door behind him opened and a frantic Elite walked in. "Commander, a Human appeared aboard our vessel and suddenly she is in critical condition, it is a female. We have placed her into the Medical pod to hopefully recover, even if her injuries are quite dire. We will need to transfer her over to the human ship when the situation seems right, they will know how to deal with this situation."
The Commander was not happy but he understood his subordinates' panic, "Ensure her life is not at risk, a few scars and missing limbs can be easily replaced, but life can never be replaced." He suddenly blinked as he realized he was still sending a message to the Human vessel, "Excuse me, but does that tie up our loyalty to you?"
Captain Cutter had witnessed many things but he never thought he would see genuine concern for a random human, much less a lady. "It does." His words cause his crew to look at him oddly, "We will gladly accept your aid, but please remember our people were enemies so much of my crew will be unpleasant to you."
"I understand and please know, unlike my… brothers-" He hissed out that word with trust disgust, "I was not part of the Combat fleet we are mainly a support vessel, with enough forces for safe travel and possible direct ground conflict, None of my crew has taken a life of a Human and will continue to not unless we do so out of self preservation. We will supply support to your vessel and if needed direct Ship to Ship defense against the Covenant." His transmission cut off as Captain Cutter as his crew all collected their thoughts,
"Are you sure that is a good idea, Captain?"
"It is the best we can do, if they want peace we make peace, we are alone, with no way home."
His crew all nodded, "We will be professional but don't expect us to be happy about it." Anders grunts out in displeasure, "What is your first plan?"
"Get me into contact with Sergeant Nicholas Young."
"Understood."
Nick was bored, and annoyed, but mostly bored. He had to listen to a lecture about 'holding back' and 'being less brutal'. He couldn't help it if he was a Sociopath, he knew what was Right and Wrong he just didn't care, why would you be concerned for that when your species was fighting for survival.
Soon a white haired elderly man stood before him, he looked at him with his mismatched eyes blankly. "You the boss of this lady?" Said Lady scowled, "Please for the love of whatever god you follow, shut her the fuck up. I haven't heard someone talk so much since I was getting yelled at by the Drill Sergeant." He rolled his eyes boredly, "Though, I will admit my actions were extreme, when one fights to save an entire species, extreme actions must sometimes be taken."
The Elderly man looked amused by his words, "I must agree, but why kill people when you could have easily restrained them, by the way I am Professor Ozpin."
Nick scoffed, "I was fighting a losing battle, it wouldn't have been easy or really possible to restrain the enemy. That is why I took such a drastic action. My weapons are made to kill, not restrain."
Smirking, Ozpin spoke, "I would like it if you two joined my school, Beacon Academy."
Ruby looked excited, while Nick could only tilt his head, "I will think about it."
"That's understandable, but if you do not join any more reported actions of you killing anyone will be out of my control."
'I can't make enemies on our only planet, I need to make allies for the Spirit of Fire.' "Understood, I will no longer use lethal force unless in a life or death scenario."
"Good."
Nick quickly left the Police station and pulled out his Datapad as the Spirit of Fire radioed him, "Yes sir?"
"Sergeant, we have a major situation up here, an Ally Covenant ship appeared and has given us their aid. What do you report?"
Blinking a few seconds Nick regained his composure, "I have been discovered by the local law enforcement and a leader of a high status Academy, how should I proceed."
"Join them and make sure I can come into contact with this leader."
"Understood, we will have to move Alpha Base away from the country, they will become suspicious and likely investigate our Ground Base, maybe a large island?"
"I see, it will come under consideration Sergeant Young, we will come aid you if the situation calls for it. I want you to gain as much knowledge as you can from the Academy."
"Understood, Firefox out."
Captain Cutter frowned, "Get Alpha base extracted, we need to place it into a better location, Serina what's your status?"
"A lot of criminal activity, I have sent all evidence to all the Councilmen in the Atlas territory, It is not our issue unless they need our assistance."
Cutter sighed, "If we do not attempt to help we will have people behind us for very long, it is our duty to assist humanity. Plus the recording Sergeant Young sent us is quite interesting, what can you tell me about them, Serina?"
"Easy sir, they are called Grim, the ones Young faced were Nevermore, I have already sent the Data to Young so he will be more effective in the field."
"Good, any we should be concerned about?"
"Leviathans and other large grim, our MAC cannon will be easily enough to destroy it. Though we may encounter Grim Swarms in which we will need to require our Point Defense guns."
"Understood."
