Mighty Morphin Lightspeed Rangers
Author's note: this is a little bit of creative writing that just came to my head while I was feeling Nostalgia when watching some old Power Ranger episodes. This is a non-canonical crossover episode Between The Mighty Morphin Power Rangers season 3 and the Power Rangers Lightspeed Rescue. Enjoy!
Chapter 1
In the city of Mariner Bay, Angela Fairweather and some other Lightspeed Rescue Personnel were out in the desert outside of the city. They were working on an advanced new and improved solar generator that they believed would be a suitable upgrade to the Max Solarzord.
They were surrounding the solar generator with a molecular Subspace field that in theory would allow the solar panel to absorb a significantly larger quantity of solar energy.
"All right everyone, are we ready?" asked Angela Fairweather.
"We're all set." said the technician.
She flipped the switch and it began to work. The capacitor that they had registered a charge of more solar energy than they had ever seen before.
But then, something went wrong. Something that they had not intended for the machine to do. There was electromagnetic discharges in the form of small lightning bolts that began to shoot out everywhere.
"What's going on?" asked Angela Fairweather.
"It seems that there is an unusual side effect that we had not anticipated." said the technician.
The technician examined the data that came in on the computer screen.
"If I'm not mistaken Miss Fairweather, the molecular Subspace field has, by some fluke of physics that we had not anticipated, tapped into the SpaceTime continuum. It's generating some kind of portal to…somewhere."
"I'm shutting it down." said Angela Fairweather.
She flipped the switch to off and the Machine shut down.
"Until we figure out what happened, we will not be using this technology again." said Angela Fairweather.
5 years earlier
In a sinister looking fortress on the moon, Lord Zedd used his power of sight to see down to the surface of the earth. A seven foot tall reptilian creature covered from head to toe in white gemstone was wreaking havoc down on the planet's surface. He reveled in the humans' suffering.
It was then that his brother-in-law Rito Revolto walked up beside him.
"So what do you think, Ed? Isn't it the most terrifying and Sinister monster that you've ever seen before?" said Rito in his humorous but unintelligent attitude.
"THAT'S ZEDD!" Lord Zedd shouted in anger at Rito's inability to call him by the correct name. "And until such time as I actually see the Power Rangers destroyed, I am going to reserve judgment on this creature that you have created!"
"Relax Ed." said Rito reassuringly. "Diamond Alligator is completely indestructible. The Power Rangers weapons won't be able to damage him."
"If what you say is true," said Lord Zedd, "then I will let you know that I am impressed."
"Now now Zeddy." said Rita Repulsa as she walked up behind her husband. "My little brother does have his good points."
"You say it Sis." said Rito. "Don't worry Ed. By the end of the day those rangers will be space dust."
The Command Center
The alarms were blaring.
"Aye-yi-yi-yi-yi!" said Alpha 5 as he was panicking as he always does.
"Be patient Alpha." said interdimensional being Zordon from his energy tube.
It was then that Tommy Oliver, Billy Cranston, Kimberly Hart, Rocky Desantos, Adam Park, and Aisha Campbell teleported into the command center.
"Zordon, what's going on?" asked Aisha.
"Behold the viewing globe." said Zordon.
They then looked at the large white orb off in the corner that showed a digital video feed through Subspace. They observed a tall Sinister looking reptilian creature covered from head to toe in white gemstones.
"Well," said Adam, "that thing doesn't look pleasant."
"This is our enemy's most recent creation." said Zordon. "The Diamond Alligator. A creation of Rito Revolto. The Diamond Alligator's physical body is completely indestructible. If you do not find a way to breach the armor of its outer skin then this world is doomed."
"Well, we have to try." said Rocky.
"Don't worry Zordon, we'll take this thing down." said Kimberly.
"I admire your courage, rangers. I would expect nothing less." said Zordon. "But do be careful, you can't fight what you can't defeat. An indestructible foe is the most dangerous to go up against."
"Maybe our weapons will be powerful enough to breach his armor." said Billy.
"Perhaps they will." said Zordon. "Good luck Rangers. And may the power protect you."
"All right guys, let's show this alligator just how not indestructible he is." said Tommy with determination. "IT'S MORPHIN TIME!"
They pulled out their morphers and held them out in front.
"White Ranger power!"
"Black Ranger power!"
"Pink ranger Power!"
"Blue Ranger power!"
"Yellow Ranger power!"
"Red Ranger power!"
In the middle of a Town Square in downtown Angel Grove the Diamond Alligator was wreaking havoc. Summoning lightning bolts and hurling them at whatever he could. Multiple people had already been injured and killed. First Responders were on the scene. Police officers fired their guns at the monster, but the bullets just bounced off.
"We'll take it from here." said Tommy in his White Ranger suit.
The police officers then retreated and assisted with the wounded.
"Times up Diamond head!" said Tommy in a derogatory tone of voice. "It's time for you to get out of town."
"Oh don't worry." said the Diamond Alligator. "I will get out of town, as soon as you surrender your power Coins and swear allegiance to Lord Zedd."
"Not going to happen." said Tommy. "Ninjor, I summon you!"
It was then that a tall blue robot with a sword sheath on his back materialized.
"Power rangers!" said the sage Ninjor. "I am here to Aid you. Let us defeat this evil."
They all Drew their weapons and attacked. The battle was fierce but more or less a stalemate. The seven of them versus The Diamond Alligator, though the Diamond Alligator seemed to be equal to all of them.
The Rangers Drew their blade blasters and bombarded Diamond Alligator with a massive volley of laser pistol fire. The alligator's diamond armor was undamaged.
The Diamond Alligator summoned lightning bolts and hurled them at the Rangers causing damage to their power suits.
"All right rangers," said Rocky, "if our weapons individually aren't enough then let's hit him with something that packs a little bit more punch. Let's try the Power Blaster. Let's bring them together!"
"Power ax!"
"Power bow!"
"Power daggers!"
"Power lance!"
"Power sword!"
All five of the Rangers weapons combined together form an energy Cannon 10 times more powerful than any one of the weapons alone.
"Power Rangers!" They all said together as they stood together and held the weapon. "Lock on and fire!"
A massive energy beam was fired and hit Diamond alligator head on. The point of impact caused a massive explosion.
When the smoke cleared, Diamond Alligator was still in one piece though severely weakened.
"There's no way that he could have survived that." said Kimberly.
Up on the moon Lord Zedd and Rita Repulsa observed the battle from afar.
"So what do you think, Ed?" said Rito Revolto.
"I have got to say that I am impressed bonehead." said Lord Zedd. "This creature actually can stand up to the Rangers with ease. But I say it's time to finish them."
Rita and Zedd crossed their staffs together.
"By the powers of force of lightning, make our Monster Grow!" they said together.
The two staffs shot a lightning bolt down to the surface of the planet that struck Diamond Alligator and his body expanded to be over 60 meters tall.
"Expansion mode!" said Ninjor.
And then the same thing happened to him.
"We need Ninja Zord Power now!" said the Rangers together.
"Black frog Ninja Zord power up!" said Adam.
"Pink crane Ninja Zord power up!" said Kimberly.
"Blue wolf Ninja Zord power up!" said Billy.
"Yellow bear Ninja Zord power up!" said Aisha.
"Red ape Ninja Zord power up!" said Rocky.
"White Falcon Ninja Zord power up!" said Tommy.
They all teleported inside the cockpits of each of their respective Zords. They wasted no time in assembling the Ninja Megazord consisting of the frog, the bear, the crane, the ape, and the Wolf. The assembling of the Megazord took only a matter of seconds as that was how it was designed to do.
Ninjor drew his sword, while the Megazord started fighting hand-to-hand combat.
Diamond Alligator was more than a match for both of them. He conjured in his hands what appeared to be white cannonballs.
"Diamond spear attack!" said Diamond Alligator.
The white cannonballs were hurled at Ninjor and the Ninja Megazord and struck them head on causing severe damage.
He the summoned lightning bolts and caused even more damage.
"Why do you do this?" asked Ninjor with a voice of determination. "Why do you choose a life of evil?! You are an Abomination and you will be stopped!"
Fire then flared within the black visor of his faceplate.
"Ninjor battle mode!" he then shifted to a slightly different form that was more combat capable than his regular form.
The Ninja Megazord then wound up with its left fist, and then energized, invoking the power of the Wolf. The fist struck Diamond Alligator and caused minor damage on the point of impact. The Ninja Megazord then wound up with the right fist and energized and invoked the power of the ape. The fist struck and caused minor damage.
"Take this you alligator fiend!" said Ninjor as he held his two hands together and conjured a disc of orange energy and then hurled it at him. It struck Diamond Alligator right in the chest causing minor damage.
"Ninja Megafalconzord!" said Rocky as he then pressed the button on the console there in the main cockpit to begin the assemblance.
The image of the Falconzord reflected in the red eye of the Ninja Megazord as the Falconzord flew towards it. The Ninja Megazord jumped into the air while simultaneously the Falconzord latched on to the back, completing the Ninja Megazords final and full sequence. 'The Ninja Megafalconzord'.
All six Rangers sat in the cockpit of the Ninja Megafalconzord as Aisha pushed the throttle full accelerating the Ninja Megazord towards Diamond Alligator at a speed of Mach 1. The two fists sticking out in front energizing with blue and red energy, invoking the power of the wolf and the ape.
"Ninja Megafalconzord power punch!" They all declared together.
But at the last moment, a strange sort of portal opened up and swallowed up both Diamond Alligator and the Ninja Megafalconzord.
The Rangers watched through the cockpit as they flew through some kind of hyperspace-like vortex and they shook with heavy turbulence. Then they exited the vortex and they were somewhere else. They were no longer in Angel Grove. And they did not recognize the surrounding landscape.
"What happened?" asked Tommy. "Where's Diamond Alligator?"
"He's not anywhere on our scanners." said Billy. "We've lost him."
"Powering down power punch." said Adam as he hit the button and the two fists de-energized.
"And where are we?" asked Rocky.
"If navigational sensors are correct," said Kimberly as she looked at her display screen on her console, "we've traveled more than 900 miles from our previous location. We are near the city of Mariner Bay on the West Coast."
"How can that be?" asked Aisha.
"That Vortex must have been some kind of Einstein Rosen Bridge." said Billy.
"A what?" asked Kimberly.
"A wormhole." said Tommy.
"I'm going to attempt to re-establish Communications with the command center." said Billy.
He tapped at a few buttons for a while and then reopened the Communications system.
"Zordon this is Billy do you read me?"
There was no response.
"Alpha come in?"
Still no response.
"Ninjor, do you read me?"
Still no response.
"What is going on?" asked Rocky.
"Hold on." said Billy. "Let me do a more thorough scan."
After a few more moments of the computer beeping as he was tapping at panels his screen showed him a result.
"That's strange? The Command Center isn't there."
"How can that be?" said Adam.
They all looked at one another there in the cockpit as they tried to process the confusing and unusual anomaly that was in front of them.
"We should fly back to the command center and determine what is going on." said Tommy.
"Wait," said Billy, "I wouldn't recommend that. I'm detecting an instability in the Falconzord's Engine Systems. It was probably caused by the vortex and severe battle damage. I would highly recommend that we set the Zords down and disassemble the Megazord and allow them to go into a self repair mode. And without the Command Center's systems online I wouldn't recommend teleporting either. Best to tap our communicators into the Zords systems and only attempt short-range teleportation and only in an emergency."
"So what you're saying is…?" Adam trailed off.
"We have no choice, we are going to have to go into town and find a hotel for the night, at least until I'm confident that the Falconzord can make a long trip." said Billy.
They went behind a mountain at the edge of the city where they set the Megazord down and then had the Megazord disassemble into the six Zords that made it up.
As Billy looked at the console he noticed a few things on the long range sensors.
"That's strange." said Billy.
"What is it Billy?" asked Tommy.
"I'm detecting a Power Ranger signal coming from the city."
"What do you mean?" asked Rocky. "Other rangers? Besides us?"
"Yes, it's coming from the 'Morphing Grid'. Clearly there are other Power Rangers within the city besides ourselves that are giving off a Power Ranger ID signal from the morphing grid."
"Wait a minute," said Adam, "I thought the morphing grid was a system within the command center computer machinery."
"That's only half true." said Billy. "The morphing grid isn't technically part of the Command Center's systems. The morphing grid is another dimension existing outside of normal time and space, and Zords and Rangers of different forms can tap into it."
"Probably for the best that we stopped here then." said Kimberly, "This is probably something that we should investigate."
"I agree." said aisha.
