"Star Train to London, now boarding," the overhead speaker echoes around me and my friends. "I'll miss you," I tell Adrien and Marinette, my two best friends. I can feel a lump growing in my throat. "Hey, a month's not that long and there's always calls or emails," she responds, but I can hear a catch in her voice.

My mother is working with Adrien's aunt, Amelie on a new clothing line and at age fourteen, no matter how mature I am, am going with her. Now that Gabriel Agreste has passed away, Amelie has taken over the company.

"Last call." I sigh, hugging Marinette and then Adrien. Adrien seems quiet today, but in light of recent events that's totally understandable. "Take care of each other," I whisper.

Then I step onto the train, rolling my case down the aisle. I look right and left for Mother, and I find her waiting for me in our assigned seats. "There you are," she says. "Sit down, we're about to go."

Even if a storm of emotions is brewing inside me, I must admit it is a relief to sit down, as I've been on my feet since early this morning. With a small jolt, the train pulls away.

I grew up in Japan, and moved to Paris about a year ago. I've never been good at making friends, but once I found my friends in Paris, I've never been happier. I guess I won't be totally alone going to London, for my Kwami, Longg, is in a fanny pack at my waist.

During supper, I must remember to feed him his favorite fruit, dragon fruit. I've been to London before, but never stayed this length amount of time, and I am curious what I am about to see and learn.

For now, I rest my head back against the seat cushion, and am soon asleep.

"Kagami?" I slowly open my eyes, finding Mother gently shaking my shoulder. "Time to go down to the dining car for dinner." I yawn and stand, offering her my arm. My mother is blind, but with my help and her walking cane, she does quite well.

As we enter the dining car, a wave of yummy scents hits my nose, and my stomach growls. I order salmon and rice, and a cup of hot chocolate and Mother orders the same.

Longg eats his Dragon Fruit, and I can feel him curling up again in my pack to nap. Once we get to London and to the hotel, he'll be free to roam around my room.

Dusk is approaching when we pull up to the station, and we gather our suitcases and bags. I hold tight to Mother, not wanting to lose her in the throng of people waiting at the doors.

"Amelie is supposed to show us to our hotel," Mother explains once we've stepped out of the train. "What does she look like?" I ask, searching in the crowd. "Blonde hair, and green eyes. Said she would be holding a sign with our name on it."

Again my eyes scan the room, now that I have a description of who I'm looking for, it should be easier to locate them.

Just then, a lady emerges from the crowd, fitting Mother's description exactly. "Tomoe? Kagami? I'm Amelie. Its so good to finally meet the both of you. Come, the car is waiting out front."

We follow her, careful to not lose her in the crowds, and I gasp as we emerge from the station, for a sleek sliver car waits for us, suffer at the ready. He takes our bags, storing them in the trunk as we slide into the car.

The car is roomy with the most plush seats I've ever sat on. Amelie smiles at me. "I know you could have taken a cab, but London can be a maze to get around!"

She and Mother chat while I stare out in awe at some of the most famous landmarks in the world. "You'll have to meet my son, Felix, Kagami. He's about your age. He would have been here, but he had to work. Pity." "Work?" I ask in puzzlement. "Yes, my Felix graduated early, and at present is working at the corner bookstore."

My eyes light up. Books! I love to read, but drawing is my passion. "If you can give me directions, I'd-" "Kagami," Mother's voice is sharp as she cuts me off. "Your already signed up for that painting class in the morning. No time to wander around." "Don't worry," Amelie puts a comforting hand on mine. "They'll be plenty of opportunities."

I nod, but I am angry. Sure, I love to paint, but didn't Mother consult me first? Sometimes I feel like a puppet, and Mother pulls my strings. "Yes, Mother."

Luckily, I have own room at the hotel, and as soon as I unpack, I crawl into bed.

Morning comes early, and I wake, showering and dressing quickly, then go downstairs to find Mother and breakfast. Marinette would love it here, for there is a Starbucks down in the front lobby.

I opt for the traditional English breakfast and Mother tells me the day's plans. "I arranged a car for you to take you to the class. Once it is done, you may visit the bookshop. I will collect you from there this afternoon."

I'm delighted to find the class is outdoors at a small park, and the instructor is kind and helpful. "Oh, what a cute panda!" My instructor smiles at me. I blush, not use to praise about my art. "I grew up in Japan, but Mother occasionally traveled to China to work, and my favorite place to visit was the zoo."

Sure, we had a zoo not far from my home village and whenever I would save up enough, I would visit. I could spend hours sketching, perfectly happy sitting still, observing the gentle creatures.

Back in the car, I realize my current sketchbook is full, and I must purchase a new one. The day that dawned bright and sunny is now overcast, and I am glad to be out of the drizzle.

My eyes widen as I step into the bookstore, and I feel like I traveled back in time. Rows upon rows of bookshelves line the walls, some going up towards the ceiling.

The tempting smell of coffee has me heading to the cafe area, and I'll have a snack before I go explore. Pastries and quiches line the display case, and so many coffees to choose from.

I step up to the counter, ready to order waiting for the barista to turn around. "I'll have-" the words die in my throat as he turns around, for he is the most beautiful boy I've ever seen. Golden blonde hair that looks soft to the touch, sculpted cheekbones and emerald eyes stare back at me. Oh, my. My throat is now as dry as the Sarah Desert, but I can't stand here ogling! "Um, one of the quiches and a hazelnut frappanico," I croak. "Would you like a glass of water with that?" he asks, and oh, how beautiful his voice is. I nod, silently, and turn away cheeks flaming.

Never I have been instantly attracted to a boy, though for a short time I did have a crush on Adrien (but in reality what girl in Paris didn't?).

I sit down a good distance away from the counter, watching his fluid movements. Five minutes later he brings the food. "There you go," he said, sending the cup and plate in front of me. "Enjoy."

"Wait!" I call as he turns to go. "Is your name by chance, Felix?" "How did you know?" "My mother is working with Amelie Graham De Vanilly as she mentioned a son who worked in a bookshop."

My heart hammers as he shows a row of perfect teeth. "That's my mother. And since you have my name, may I inquire about yours?" "Kagami," I say, holding out my hand. "Kagami Tsuguri."

"Pleasure to meet you. Are you staying long in London?" "We're here for the month," I tell him. "Tell you what. I'm off my shift in about ten minutes and I can give you a tour of the bookshop if you'd like." I nod. "Great. See you in ten."

I eat my food, but I don't taste it for I feel like I am floating on air. Did I just make a friend? Okay, calm down, don't want to scare him.

The coffee is good and I relax for a bit.

Exactly ten minutes later, Felix keeps his promise and I rise my seat. My favorite section of course is the animal books, and before I leave I purchase a new sketchpad. Three guesses what I'll be drawing tonight and it isn't a panda for once.

"I hope I'll see you soon?" Felix asks as my hand touches the door handle. Mother's car is just pulling up. "Here," I say, taking my receipt and scribbling down my number. "Call me."

Then I'm scurrying out into the rain, the automatic door opening. "How was your day, Kagami?" Mother asks, and I choose my words carefully.

"Unexpected," I smile. The rest of the ride is quiet, and I'm glad to return to my room for dinner.

I watch the sunset from my balcony, a wonder to behold. I feel a buzz in my pocket and smile, seeing a text from Marinette.

Marinette: How was the first day?

Kagami: Better then I expected.

Marinette: Oh? Did you meet a friend?

Kagami: I met a guy.

Marinette: No way! What's his name?

Kagami: Felix Graham De Vanilly

I wait for Marinette's response but it doesn't come.

Kagami: Marinette?

Marinette: Sorry. Can you keep a secret?

Kagami: Sure? Should I be worried?

Marinette: No, no! Just Felix isn't Felix, he's also Argos, holder of the Peacock Miraculous. And….Adrien's cousin.

My mouth drops open. No wonder he reminded me of Adrien, and I can't get him off my mind.
